561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get scammed by this, specially newcomers. on: November 14, 2023, 10:24:22 PM
I saw something on Quora that worried me. Someone said that he lost 1200 BTC to scammers. Then, I saw some people sharing/claiming to be experts in recovering lost bitcoin. They shared their contact details like Telegram IDs and WhatsApp numbers.

I have a suspicion that the person who lost the BTC might be the same one giving out those contact details or advices. They could be trying to trick others in the future who search for help online. Google might suggest similar questions on Quora, and people could end up sharing their private keys with scammers.
I have found these fake stories and responses from these scammers abundantly on YouTube videos, platform X, Quora, and many other platforms, especially in cases related to stealing a significant amount of funds from a platform after being hacked by hackers. You find the scammers' comments plentifully, trying to deceive individuals who have been scammed or had their funds stolen, pretending that they can help them recover their stolen assets by contacting them through one of the communication methods or through the phishing domain link they send to these victims to recover their lost funds. Therefore, I completely agree that no one should trust strangers in the crypto field, seek help from them, disclose the amount of Bitcoin they hold, or believe everything written on these blogging platforms or social media and others.

563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Altcoins Fake? on: November 14, 2023, 06:52:38 PM
Alt-coins are not fake and many alt-coins has been successful into cryptocurrency market which is quick profitable business when you invest on the right alt-coins at the right entry point, even Bitcoin as the king of all alt-coins started one day to trade and many people that seen the opportunity and refused to invest at early stage are regret it by now. Hence, information is very important when you take action to Archived it.
Collecting information, conducting adequate research, and gaining the necessary experience enable any investor to determine whether or not the altcoin project in which they will invest their funds is fake. Carefully choosing an altcoin project is an investor's most crucial decision before investing capital. Not all altcoins are fake, as you clarified, and not all are scams. There are altcoins that have significantly succeeded due to their actual capabilities, the continuity of their operations, and the experience of their teams, managing to shine and secure positions in the top 100 altcoins in the market. However, the market is not devoid of fake and scam projects that fail to achieve their goals, primarily being new projects. Therefore, if a person cannot determine whether a new altcoin project is real or fake, they should rely on a long list of top and most reliable altcoins in the market.
564  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Scam/Phishing Curve Website on: November 13, 2023, 11:29:44 PM
The hosting service (namecheap) already take down the website upon visiting it. Namecheap really has good and fast support to take down phishing websites knowing scammers usually use their service due to cheap/discounted hosting and domains.
When they deal with complaints and reports, they take positive and stringent steps to take down phishing domains. This is because the persistence of hosting these phishing domains can harm their reputation and also go against their policies. I have previously submitted complaints and reports to the domain registrar NameCheap, and their dedicated team reviewed the complaints I submitted in less than 24 hours, closing down several domains. The positive aspect is that anyone can contribute, no matter how simple the action, to disrupt the schemes of scammers. This is what makes the cryptocurrency community secure. Despite the simplicity of the idea behind these phishing domains, beginners may not notice the phishing link, mistakenly thinking it's the official domain of the project, becoming victims. The reason for the spread of these schemes is that they remain a cost-effective method for defrauding beginners.

App Store:

Roll Eyes

567  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies don't leave your coins in an exchange on: November 09, 2023, 10:22:07 PM
See exchanges in this same way and whatever that makes you to use an  exchange, when you are done, you should not leave your funds in there. We have seen big exchanges like FTX crashed and the whole thing is still a drama currently. You should only leave the amount that you can afford to lose in an exchange and don't for once risk your bitcoin. This is because exchanges are in full control of your bitcoin and they will decide what happens to your coins the moment you keep it in their custody.
Keep your bitcoin safe from third party.
Not your keys not your coins.
Let's discuss.
The issue is not limited to financial losses only in case of bankruptcy or hacking of these exchange platforms but also extends to the leakage of sensitive customer information and KYC documents provided by the client to use these platforms. The advice not to leave any person's currencies on centralized exchange platforms is well-known. Still, many beginners are unwilling to transfer their currencies to any hardware wallet. Although acquiring a hardware wallet can be costly, it can be done through popular desktop or mobile decentralized wallets. I do not know why they trust these exchange platforms, which may freeze their assets at any moment or require them to undergo additional complex verification procedures. If they prefer long-term investment and want to feel reassured after years of holding their assets, they should transfer them to any wallet they have complete control over, including its security details. Exchange platforms are only for trading and P2P transactions.
568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hot take: Your crypto portfolio should have more than just Bitcoin. on: November 09, 2023, 08:51:12 PM
If you're a Bitcoin enthusiast who wants to make short-term gains, I recommend that you consider diversifying your portfolio with a few other altcoins. This will help you to reduce your risk and increase your chances of generating profits.

What do you think?
I do not entirely prefer short-term returns that are not worth such high risks. As for altcoins, I might choose Ethereum from among this extended list of altcoins in the market, but most of the capital will indeed remain in Bitcoin, as it is the dominant and safe currency. I have not regretted investing in and holding it for the long term, as it has withstood challenging market periods. Also, there is no guarantee of achieving huge profits in altcoins or even in the correct token, which may have the lion's share and deliver these profits and avoid SEC wars, thefts of its protocol, hacks & exploits of its chain, and rapid price collapses in short periods, as seen with Terra Luna token, for closest example.

If your goal is huge returns and a safe investment, put every dollar into Bitcoin and not be a short-term investor. Many indicators indicate that the 2022 bear market is about to end, and some events will add positivity to the market, such as the approval of Bitcoin ETFs, the halving event, and other developments that will drive Bitcoin's price to new heights.

570  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never say your recovery seed or private key out loud! on: November 08, 2023, 11:10:35 PM
What's the purpose in the first place if you intentionally say out loud about your private keys? Because if you aim to get the attention of other people, then surely you will succeed that's why hackers are now sighting on you as their new target. And because of that, you are damn fool because you are trying to put yourself and your own investment in danger, and whoever does that is not actually having the right thinking.
This may happen to beginners if they manually write their recovery seed. They might raise their voices due to the surrounding noise in a public place or repeat these phrases with their mouth until they remember them so that they do not miswrite them. Some also memorize their private key or recovery seed on one of their social media accounts or messaging apps as a reference. This is also a big mistake. They are called "Private" and not "Public" to remain in a safe place away from the eyes and ears of people and centralization in general. Therefore, if beginners cannot keep them safe, they will lose their wallets and funds. For example, they can write down these phrases on paper or any hard material and store them safely. Suppose the need arises to open their wallet. In that case, they must ensure the privacy of their security details and ensure their devices are secure and their wallet is official and reputable.
571  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Poloniex support personel asking me to download their app on: November 08, 2023, 08:58:51 PM
After freezing my account and all the mumbo jambo they sent me email that says:

"Thank you for confirming that you have secured your email account.

We have sent you a new password via email and enabled access to your profile page so that you can confirm your identity. Please complete a very quick and simple verification using the Poloniex app for iOS or Android."
Alright, you can verify if the sender's email address from which you received this message belongs to the official email addresses of the Poloniex platform as shown in the attached image, or not.

Or you can simply ignore any links in this message and download the application from Google Play or the App Store.

I advise contacting their customer service, as they will provide you with the necessary and confirmed details through the online chat. By following their instructions, they can help you unfreeze your account.

573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can NFTs last forever? on: November 07, 2023, 11:53:03 PM
I understand clearly the importance and concept of NFT in the Blockchain space but I believe it has been bastardised to a point. There seem to be no much value in the NFT space as people have abused the use of NFT.
There are also people who have real good value for their NFTs but the cluster of ingenuity and zero-value in that sector has strangled those who truly have purposes for NFT, this leaves me with a conclusion, I don't think NFT can last forever until it has some form of regulation.
I agree that if regulation is established for NFT projects and collections, this will create a good and secure environment for investors who prefer to own these NFTs. If standard conditions are applied to the creators of these NFTs, there will be a select few who will be able to showcase their collections on OpenSea and other NFT market platforms after meeting these conditions.

The NFT industry has recently witnessed many scam projects, especially meme coins projects, that have not offered any innovative or rare content for NFT collections, which could benefit their owners in the future. In addition, many other collections include NFT images with phishing links, deceiving investors into thinking they can stake these NFTs on this phishing site included in the NFT image they own. This field requires extensive research, but it does not mean that all projects are not good. Many projects have contributed to the growth of the NFT industry and utilized this new technology to keep up with their innovations and provide benefits to their communities without abusing the use of NFTs.
574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you cope with those around you not believing in you for choosing Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2023, 10:43:30 PM
Pretty much self explanatory.  How do you do it?
Here is my way.  I mostly pushed away and pulled out of relationships with people who seem to stand against my beliefs.  Instead of convincing them I just moved on.  I found that a lot of those who do not believe in my choice of investment and think I will fail are the same people who never listen.
This is the case with negative people who, even since the launch of Bitcoin, accused it of being a scam and false investment, blah blah blah,  when its prices were attractive, and it was a rare investment opportunity, which, if they had exploited it, they would have remained wealthy now. I consider these relationships toxic, and people who spread their discouragement and accuse everyone who invests in Bitcoin of failure. They are mostly ignorant and have not bothered to conduct thorough research. For example, What is the highest historical price of Bitcoin (ATH), and how does its current price compare to its price decades ago? How many investors and traders are there in Bitcoin up to now? What is its market cap? How many companies and major institutions have adopted it as a payment method? Among the world's wealthy, who has invested in it? There are many questions. If these people knew the answers, they would avoid these negative and frustrating thoughts that they give to those around them.

It is also advisable, as OP mentioned, not to disclose your investments to anyone, especially to ignorant someones with limited knowledge in this field or the amount of capital you have invested. Always benefit from positive events and news related to Bitcoin and from people who have been involved in this field for decades and have a strong knowledge and vision. They are the ones who will propel you forward without hindering your enthusiasm and ideas.
575  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Help us to remove Freewallet scam wallets from AppStore on: November 07, 2023, 08:26:36 PM
By the way, Freewallet app is absent in Google Play, but it's available in another Android app's market, Uptodown.
So that, we also ask people who use this appmarket to send abuses about Freewallet scam.
Yes, this is correct. Their application is not available on the Google Play Store. You can find their applications on Uptodown through this link: [HERE]. You can include this link in your topic above.

It is worth noting that most of the ratings and reviews for Freewallet applications appear to be fake. Therefore, it may be a good idea to leave a one-star rating and provide a brief warning about these applications. Suppose the administrators and the stores' teams do not respond to the reports of the removal of these apps from their stores. In that case, low ratings and negative reviews will serve as a preventive measure for many people unaware of the true nature of this scam wallet, which has caused many users to lose their funds.

577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tricky situation for Altcoin investment on: November 06, 2023, 08:46:58 PM
I would just like to make everyone cautious about the current situation as it's a period which can make or break you based on your investment strategy. It's all about Altcoin investment and most of the newbie try their luck by investing into Altcoin whenever there are rumours of bull Run and the reason they prefer Altcoin over bitcoin is that they think Bitcoin is already priced higher and it would not get pumped multiple fold any further [..]
Please share your opinions on common mistake newbie makes when market trends upward.
Indeed, the common mistakes beginners make when the market is heading upward and even before it is heading upward are countless. The beginner’s mistaken thinking that Bitcoin will not be pumped several times makes him put a large portion of his capital in altcoins instead of Bitcoin. Although Bitcoin is the most profitable and secure cryptocurrency in the market, its value increases over time as its supply decreases. Secondly, greed and the dream of getting rich quickly drive them to put their funds in meme coins projects and altcoins that are not top in the market. These shitcoins often lack market value, are managed by unknown teams, and usually do not have use cases or innovative ideas or either listed on disreputable exchange platforms, Or they may invest in scam tokens. These mistakes result from insufficient research and following recommendations from other traders or individuals. The best approach is to diversify the investment in terms of the largest portion held in Bitcoin and the rest in the top altcoins in the market. Newbie investors should adhere to a specific strategy, hold their assets for the long term patiently, and strive to educate themselves and learn from the mistakes of other investors to achieve their goals and aspirations in the bull market.
578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you rather make your investments in FIAT or CRYPTO? on: November 06, 2023, 07:02:21 PM
The crypto market has an high level of volatility, anyone who is about to make an investment need to have a good understanding of the volatile market. Now the question is even with the volatility will you still choose crypto over fiat when it comes to making investments?
To withstand this volatility and protect capital, any investor must have sufficient experience, risk management, and deal with technical and fundamental analyses to determine the correct time to buy and sell. Beginners who lack adequate experience and knowledge can keep fiat money until they gain enough experience and a good understanding of the market. Or that they initially invest an amount in Bitcoin that they can afford to lose, even if we assume $100, which is sufficient. There is no doubt that investing in cryptocurrencies, specifically Bitcoin, the most reliable currency on the market, is better than fiat money for many reasons, including the vast profits that any investor can reap in the long term. Even placing fiat money in banks or investing it in any business will be useless compared to Bitcoin returns, which have no limits and are significantly superior.
579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fund for Bitcoin promotion on: November 06, 2023, 05:31:28 PM
Is there some group which collects funds for Bitcoin promotion? If some group like this can create advertisements for Bitcoin, more people can become aware. Such mediums should be targeted which have reach on audience that is still not familiar with crypto.
The age of Bitcoin until 2023 is 14 years. During the previous years, Bitcoin has been widely promoted by influencers, celebrities, entrepreneurs, companies, and everyone who is involved with modern technology. Bitcoin is one of the most popular cryptocurrencies worldwide, and it is the leading currency that dominates the market. Therefore, it can be said that Bitcoin already has wide popularity, and I do not think there is an educated audience that does not know about this currency yet. In addition, this forum and other popular blogs and sites already have many educational articles and detailed explanations about Bitcoin and everything related to it. Frankly, the idea of creating ads by any group for Bitcoin could include suspicious links or scams, so anyone who wants to understand the crypto field should only rely on trusted sources.
