561  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin crash on: December 19, 2017, 11:23:50 PM
Usual correction of 5-10%, nothing to worry about so far. Of course with the price bitcoin has reached, a 5% correction means minus 1000$ on price, this could frighten newbies.

Agreed. If anything, this is going to push people to start buying more. They're soon going to realize they won't get many more opportunities to purchase sub 18,000 in the future. Will probably continue the cycle of up and downs by having another surge after this correction. Bitcoin's got a pretty cyclical nature and I think it's secure enough to the point right now that people aren't trying to get rid of it (aka, no major drops soon).

As many other people here, I've used and still use bittrex every now and then. I've never run into any issues with depositing/withdrawing from them. We also need a bit more info and proof. Why don't you throw in the proof that you actually sent the money to a bittrex address. Are you 100% positive that you didn't put in the wrong address into the wallet to send to? If you did, there's no way to ever really get that money back and it's technically your fault.
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Already holding BTC and litecoin. Want to buy more. Which one? on: December 18, 2017, 07:25:45 AM
Monero seems to be gaining ground quickly either that or NEO

XRP/Ripple has been doing pretty well too. A pretty strong spike recently.
564  Economy / Economics / Re: How much important bitcoin for entrepreneurs? on: December 18, 2017, 07:23:41 AM
World is now leading by different entrepreneurs who are continuously innovate new thing for contributing the world for removing poverty and fight against superstition. Entrepreneur find those skill and proficient people who are deprive of opportunity and provide sufficient work through she or he can lead a perfect life.  Now world is like a global village and people can recognize them by their own specialty. Now through this currency a entrepreneur can find actual worker who can do this task according to their expectation. Even they can transfer this  currency after completing actual task from one place to another place. So i think it can be a choice for investment for entrepreneurs.

I can't help but believe that entrepreneurs who are getting into investing would be very nervous to put their money into bitcoin. There's no physical backing like fiat currencies which normally have some gold backing, etc. To them, it's a risky investment because there could be any random point in time where bitcoin takes a 180 and starts to drop. We can't really predict it, and I'd venture to say that since the China FUD we haven't really experienced a real, strong drop. It's the anticipation of that moment which could be keeping entrepreneurs away from the coin.
565  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Earn bitcoins and altcoins on: December 18, 2017, 07:09:09 AM
I guess the holy grail is actually earning bitcoins or altcoins to increase velocity. I have a beta site where you can pm if your interested in a beta trial about earning it.

However id like to engage with you all to ask what would increase velocity, i think people actually earning is the only way and would work as a parralel currency to fiat. What sites do ppl use to earn coinz apart from buying of course.

Pardon my language, but what the hell do you mean by velocity?!

I think you meant to type volatility.

You should clarify a lot of what you're trying to say here in this post. Earning coins comes from all kinds of different services. Remember that bitcoin is, in its essence, a currency. People can accept it as tender for what they're selling be it online or in person. The way this gets to them is through service processors like bitpay. I guess a small example would be many of the small shops that are hosted on rocketr.net. Rocketr is a hub site for people selling things and allows them to create a "shop' on their website which is private only to those that the owner decides to share it with. There are numerous ways to earn coins online, just do a bit more research and you'll keep finding new things.
566  Economy / Speculation / Re: How Will Bitcoin Futures affect Bitcoin and Altcoin Prices? on: December 18, 2017, 06:53:09 AM
Futures for altcoins? no way, it will never happen, and maybe it if happen it will only be for Ethereum or whatever the most important altcoin after bitcoin is during those times.

But i doubt that it will happen in a near time.

In the near future, I agree with you probably not. I guess it all boils down to what time has really come to -- with bitcoin, just a month can double your money and this level of growth has basically never been seen before, so it messes with what people agree upon when they say "long term." If you're talking about maybe the next year or two, yes it's possible that it won't be a thing, but if we're talking about the next decade, I think it's more than likely we'll see options for the Altcoins. Think about it through the growth of eth and litecoin that we've been seeing over the past few months. That level just can't be pushed to the side and forgotten about.
567  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How do I identify genuine mining opportunities? on: December 18, 2017, 12:14:21 AM
With scammers everywhere wanting to capitalize on one's lack of knowledge, how can I idenify which mining opportunities are genuine to avoid falling victim to scammers. Help out with whatever knowledge and experiences you might have.

Don't ever mine using some oneline service. 99 out of 100 times it's a scam. Cloud mining and mining in general is practically not profitable for the average Joe. The difficulty has come to the point where you would need to be very rich or a pool of money in order to even think about being profitable on mining. Even then, the difficulty could increase significantly over the time you expect to be mining, making you continuously put money into the mining rig for the chance to not even get your money back.
568  Economy / Economics / Re: Still Buying Bitcoin at $100K? on: December 18, 2017, 12:04:53 AM
I do not think I will buy bitcoin if the price reaches $ 100k, because it is very expensive and I should look for bitcoin through signature campaign. In signature campaigns by getting bitcoin will be very profitable and I will start investing after I get bitcoin.

You're looking at this with too much of a singular mind. What if bitcoin is blowing up even when it is at 100k? If it's increasing by some arbitrary amount, let's say 7% per week, steadily, then why would you NOT want to buy bitcoin? It's much too early to say anything about this. It definitely depends on the circumstances surrounding the situation. Let's take it one step at a time for now and come back to this topic if bitcoin ever hits 100k.
569  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin Supreme Tshirts on: December 17, 2017, 07:57:47 PM
Nice jacket and the design you made looks good but do you plan to add the BTC sign to make BTCitcoin? Looks very simple but I think it will look better if you'll remove the orange highlight.

Op was trying to go for the supreme logo which looks like this if you haven't seen it yet.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supreme_(brand)

@OP, why not use the original red color that supreme uses? I like the idea of the quoted user too, using the BTC symbol would make for a pretty good unique addition as well. Of course, this is your design, take the criticism as you will. I think it looks pretty good as of now anyway!

:'(It's my own fault for not using escrow but I contacted him on Telegram and he responded all the way upto after I paid him and then he vanished and wont read my messages. I have saved all the screen shots in case the moderators need it and will be reporting him to the FBI cyber crimes division.

Here is his info. Do NOT buy from him please.

Please move this to the scam accusations section.

You definitely should have used escrow. I don't think mods will report anyone for scamming only $200. However, make sure you move this post over to the right section and also put in your screenshots. Once I see the screen shots, I can leave negative trust on the account as well because I have proof of him being a scammer. We can get him kicked off the forum if you follow through.

Sorry for your loss.
571  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How to sell my house? on: December 17, 2017, 07:36:43 PM
The objective is not being rich with bitcoin or crypto. Is just selling my house. Because we are trying to sell for about 2 years...with no luck. This kind of market in Italy is totally halted.

Here is an image from tripadvisor...just to satisfy your curiosity  Grin

If it's just an asset you're trying to get rid of, you should definitely sell for fiat and then convert it in my opinion. You just have a much wider reach when you accept fiat; you don't reach nearly that same amount when you try to only get btc for it. It's possible that you can say that your primary form of payment would be fiat and that a secondary option is bitcoin so that you cover both reaches. Still, I stick with my previous suggestion to contact a real estate agent.
572  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How Do You Avoid High Fees When Exchanging Currency? on: December 17, 2017, 07:16:24 PM
Bitcoin's chain has limited capacity and it's being hammered by the current hype. Lower fees are possible if you control the right wallet but many services have a fixed fee that you have no control over. They'll always go for fee overkill to avoid customer complaints.

What other coins interest you and what country do you live in? That'll influence your options. Changelly is slightly last resortish.

I'm not sure which services have a fixed fee. For beginners, I know that blockchain.info is a pretty common wallet, but I know that you can adjust fee on that service. Electrum and other wallets that more experienced people use almost always have an adjustable fee amount.

Regardless of that, I think it's not worth it to put a small fee in with your transaction. Most services need at least 1 confirmation, so you want to hit that ASAP. If you don't, your transaction could be reversed. For now, try to wait it out a little. It's possible that fees go down soon, but if you really need to get a transaction through, maybe you could try to move more $ in a single transaction.
573  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy the dip on: December 17, 2017, 07:13:37 PM
Classic retracement from first attempt to break $20,000. We already saw this before in other round numbers, happens sometime. Dip followed with nonsensical CME shorts FUD will be followed by a new ATH in a couple of days. Buy the dip or cry later, be warned.

People who buy the dip will actually be the saviors for those who keep their money in bitcoin. At every critical point, time and time again, people have their major sell orders in and pull out causing that correction to follow up. But as you can see so far, it seems like we've been able to overcome all of those drops. It's pretty amazing to think about it -- there are so many people interested in buying that they're able to even out the correction to bring prices back to the original state. Bitcoin is such a roller coaster.
574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN HOLDERS AND SLEEPLESS NIGHTS on: December 17, 2017, 07:10:49 PM
Should I be happy for loosing my BTCs for hackers or should I be happy that I dont own anything now or should I be happy for getting enough sleep?
END of the day what matters is timely sleep, happy talks, dont stress out guys Smiley

Happy to see the BTC soaring, but are you getting enough sleep since a week ?If you are putting a limit order fine,if you are not how many times do you run to your computer to check on the rates Smiley

Chill guys,I know its Human tendency to give a try and earn but take care of yourselves Smiley

GoodLuck to all Bitcoiners Smiley

You should always put yourself before money regardless of how carried away you get. I ended up selling 1 BTC at $4,000, but the money was needed then. I have no regrets selling at that price since I was able to help my family out and I put that over any money I'll ever make.

I hope people don't get too carried away in these new booms and busts and ruin their family experience. We're all human in the end after all!
575  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin the next big thing? on: December 17, 2017, 02:33:56 AM
When we begin paying our taxes out of BTC, that is the moment when it had become 'the next big thing'

Not really. Who on earth will use his precious coins to pay their by-government-created debt? And if I remember correctly, there is already a country where you can use Bitcoin to pay your due taxes up to a certain amount. If we go by your logic, it means that Bitcoin has been 'the next big thing' for quite some time already. Aside from all this, Bitcoin is already in progress to become the next best thing, and that's by people utilizing Bitcoin's technical aspects (e.g. currency aspect, store of value aspect, voting and proof of identity purposes, etc). The more people utilize Bitcoin, the more valuable it becomes, it's that simple.

Nice said. The idea behind is simple, the demand and its reaction by the market. If more demands creates which is now happenning, the price goes even faster. For the adoption, we need more people in bitcoin so that more people use it. And it won't replace fiat.
Just because it's holiday season and many btc holders are now using btc which in effect the reason why its in hyperinflation. It's true that btc is now in demand and probably it will be the next big thing but I doubt that it will replace fiat. Instead, it will help the economy become stronger.

I think that if we give it enough time, it's possible for crypto to replace fiat. For me, it just depends on how tech-dependent the world becomes. If we end up relying on tech for most of our lives and actions, then it makes sense for money to be controlled by technology as well. If it isn't bitcoin, I'd say that bitcoin is at least a stepping stone into something bigger to replace fiat within the next century or so. Probably not next year or even the next decade; that's a little too soon.
576  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How to sell my house? on: December 16, 2017, 10:53:10 PM
I decided to try selling my house for bitcoin or some other cryptos..I am located in Italy. What's the best and secure way to do this? Thank you all!!

You should get into contact with a real estate dealer and ask about the best way to approach this. I know there are some people who have sold their homes for crypto, but that seems like a pretty dangerous game to be playing.

Anyhow, a real estate agent would probably be able to help you out with this. Worst case, you sell your house for fiat and use the fiat to buy bitcoin on an exchange or something; I don't see why that can't be an option either.
577  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A crazy day! Who can explain? on: December 16, 2017, 10:49:31 PM
No, it is just FOMO, no one wants to stay out from this incredible opportunity to earn easy money, that is why "everybody" is trying to join as fast as they can.

BTC jump From $17400 to $19300. Almost $2000 a day. Too crazy to catch it.
Is it a work of the Wall Street? Any correction expected?

And the CME futures are coming by monday, that is why there is + volume than usual.

But yes $2000 is nothing compared to how it growth during the last week (from $12000 to $16000 in a day and a half)

Yup, this is essentially the same reason I've seen people follow for the past few weeks as well. I live in a pretty populous area, and the buzz has been going crazy just about the bitcoin rises. People are trying to hop on the train asap. This creates demand for the coin, which drives the price up as people are willing to pay higher and higher amounts for the coin itself. Now, this is leading into a bubble, and we may see another little burst, but it seems like for the most part that bitcoin is always able to get back on its feet very quickly. This will probably start being tested soon.
578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in Africa is profitable than anywhere else! on: December 16, 2017, 10:45:13 PM
I am of the thinking that if you are in Africa you can definitely profit more from bitcoins and other altcoins.
The cost of electricity is very lower in Africa.. In many places the monthly cost of electricity is less than under a dollar
Could this make one to get the best of bitcoins...

Salute to you all...am new here

Think about the heat. You pay little on electricity but you consume extra on cooling. And god knows if the electricity supply will be enough to provide enough power. If africa was at the North Pole, maybe it would've been a very good option.

Also, I think there's some stuff about the exchanges there. Don't they charge a lot more than what the actual price of bitcoin is based on other exchanges?

This is an old article (June of 2017), but I just came across it while trying to search for the prices.

https://mybroadband.co.za/news/banking/213998-why-bitcoin-is-often-more-expensive-in-south-africa.html

It states that the price is higher due to the supply and demand of the market.

I guess I could see the mining idea working out if someone decides to mine in Africa and has ample cooling and is willing to send their coins over to a wallet so that they can use an exchange in a more stable-marketed country.
579  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [HOW]Buy BTC in Cash (Liquidity) on: December 16, 2017, 10:38:29 PM
Hi everyone,

I'm sorry if i'm wrong i don't speak english very well, so.

I want buy Bitcoin in cash exclusive (Liquidity).
For your information i dont want buy 1 or 2 BTC if you understand

Do you have an idea how buy ? With Who ? I have try localbitcoin.. But anyone are seriously its complicate
to find a person serious..

PS : If you have BTC contact me MP , we going to discuss about it Smiley

I hope you understand what i say  Tongue I'm bad in english.

Thanks for future answer Smiley

Let me know if I'm getting this wrong or not. I think you're saying you want to use your currency that you have (probably bank account/paypal money/other online service) and buy bitcoin using that money. Either that or you want to use your paper cash that you have.

If I'm correct, I suggest you move the money into a bank account and then use an online exchange after moving your money into that account. Worst case, if you're not trying to do a large transaction, you can always use the currency exchange section here on these forums. However, make sure to have a secure deal using an escrow on the forum.
580  Economy / Speculation / Re: Legacy addresses > speculation of fees in the next two years on: December 16, 2017, 10:35:44 PM
So if you have that wallet since 2014 it means that you are storing a huge amount of money right now, at which rate did you bought those bitcoins? Because the price was less than $250 by those times if my memory is not broken.

Admittedly 30-60 dollars is not that much for a largish transaction today. But what will the fees be later? Any guesses??

I didn't knew that the legacy addresses were still online, i thought that everybody who had bitcoins had already moved their funds to a segwit address.

Why dont you do it? Maybe you are going to pay $30 of fees right now, but in the future you will only have to pay less.

And if the lightning network gets implemented you will need to switch your balance to update to it.

It's possible that he didn't buy much back then, but I agree that the odds are that the op has a good sum in that paper wallet right now.

@OP, if you don't want to move your money out of the paper wallet, you don't have to. Right now wouldn't really be an optimal time either -- there's a decent amount of fees going on right now because of the amount of transactions going through. I'm sure you know this, but I think there will be a nice pocket in time in the future where the fees go low again. It'll be pretty cyclical from what I'm thinking (moving between high and low).
