Over 24h since last BTC block...think its me jinxing it  Still can't get off 64 diff :-( Try making a new worker with the Share Diff you like. Do not delete the one currently giving you '64' Share Diff; because you may lose out on submitted shares. I found my primary worker was still getting Share Diff '4' even after changing the Share Diff to '16'. Switched to another worker I had created for my BFL and I'm now doing Share Diff '32'.....not sure why the pool wasn't acknowledging the change on the other worker.  Cheers. Created new worker with diff 128 and miner shows diff as 32  are you sure you don't have a typo in your username? 32 is the diff you get if the pool can't find your desired diff in the db. |

I don't see any outages (at least on our BTC pool) over the past 24 hours. BTC hashrate was very low for about a 3 hour period last night because the multiport was on FRC.

Um...should MP be concerned with the crappy 'Pool Efficiency' that's it's getting now?

We shouldn't be concerned. P2pool has higher stales to begin with since the sharechain has 30 second blocks. And top of that there are a couple workers submitting tons of invalid shares to the DB which is lowering the apparent efficiency but is not actually impacting anything. |

P2pool had amazing luck today and found 5 blocks. We are now over 11 BTC earned since switching to P2Pool on the BTC port.
I have removed shares from 8-Oct to 18-Oct from the database.

Anybody know what an acceptable range of rejected shares should be on sha-256 pool?
On the BTC port it should be around 5-10%, as p2pool has 30 second sharechain blocks (that they call shares) rather than the 10 minute blocks of bitcoin. But since everyone has around the same stale rate, it should even out. ZET is the only really fast SHA-256 coin we have. PPC, FRC and TRC should be less than 1% stales. |

first off thanks! i can mine finally btc with my 1 gh/s. next seems we cant change the diff via the web page my rejects were 33% so i tried raising it. set it to 8 on website and closed miner and reload it.. still @ 2 diff. But i can live with it  Also are all the merged mining alts coins in yet? Thanks and great job! Icon The share difficulty is refreshed from the db every 5 minutes. No merge yet. We can merge as many coins as we want, but I'm not seeing the benefit of merging DVC or IXC at this time, as they're only 0.01% and 0.07% of BTC profitability at the moment. My opinion is that the additional stales generated by merging those two coins would not be worth it. So we'll just be doing NMC at the beginning. |

Indeed it is. I'm running at 512. AutoPay let me set the BTC Auto Threshold to 0.1 but it's not paying out  I'll take a look. |

It looks like a bug in stratum-proxy. It can't stay connected to p2pool for some reason. It's been reported here 3 months ago: https://github.com/slush0/stratum-mining-proxy/issues/29On another note, I am fucking done with trying to make the sortable table on the stats page work. I have spent about 10 hours trying to get this piece of shit JQuery plugin to work and it's not happening. If someone wants hero status, grab the table HTML off the stats page and send me working JS. |

This is very fishy, they are shutting down right after doing a big server upgrade? Makes no sense at all. Why invest the money just to shut down a few weeks later?
Outside of the exchanges, Bitmit is one of the more well known names in the community. If they are really shutting down out of choice, the owners have lost their minds. My bet is there is something else going on here.

BTW, have you gotten any feedback from others running Block Erupter BLADES? The multipool works fine for me for all SHA-256 coins EXCEPT BTC, now that p2pool is in place (love the idea though!). I've tried a few settings on my mining_proxy.py, but nothing seems to help (-nm, -rt, etc). I get tons of "errors on Deferred" or some such (am at work so don't have logs handy). Any ideas? Anyone else? Sounds like python errors.. Deferred is a twistd thing. But our p2pool BTC port supports both Getwork and Stratum, so you could conceivably point your block erupters directly at it without going thru the proxy. (However this wouldn't work on the multiport) Which is why I didn't want to go straight to p2pool on it - the multiport is the cool thing that I'm after to take advantage of the optimized mining. Not sure why I would be getting python errors when the multiport works fine with it for all coins except BTC, and I've had it working for a variety of other pools as well. Argh. I know the scrypt multipool has getwork - any chance of one for the SHA-256 multi? (he asked hoping but remembering you saying something about that not being workable for some reason...) If you can post the errors you're getting here, I can try to help you debug. There should not be any reason that stratum proxy won't work with p2pool. |

DVC merged mining is coming soon. Missing quite a few: PrimeCoin - XPM CopperLark - CLR Solidcoin - SBC Devcoin - DVC also glade you plain on moving btc off the MP rotation Also also , might as well add all the merged mining coins to the mix not just DVC,NMC anyone? And the other dozen or so merged mining coins i cant think of. Keep it up work .. might just add more gh/s this way SolidCoin is not a real coin. It's a RealSolid creation and I believe the only place it exists is on mcxNOW. I don't even think it can be mined. XPM can only be CPU mined now. I have 9 CPUs mining XPM 24x7 and I make just over 2 XPM per day. Maybe if and when there's a bona fide GPU miner for XPM. CopperLark is a flakey SHA-3 coin that can only be mined with a special edition of Reaper. Who needs it. DevCoin will be merged mined, as flound has said several times. Let's focus on coins that can actually make a miner money. If I want mcxNOW BTC interest I sell my coins at BTC-e or Cryptsy and transfer them. No biggie. And I agree, flound's doing a great job. His next problem might be dealing with the heavy sha-256 traffic to come None of these coins are scrypt. SC, XPM, and CL are all different algorithms. I believe SC and CL can only be mined with Reaper. I might make a scrypt-jane multiport in the future, if there is demand for it. But right now, the coins that use it don't seem incredibly profitable. The p2pool node is running on a fairly beefy VPS, so I don't anticipate having capacity issues anytime soon. |

I was thinking about the BTC payouts earlier and I'm going to change the payout a little to be more fair to the newer miners (I don't want to lose hash because newer users aren't getting close to the payout they expect.)
Rather than keeping a month's worth of shares until 30 BTC are paid out, I'm going to drop 10 days worth of shares after every 7.5 BTC.
I think this is fairer to both old and new users. It sucks, but the original miners (myself included) on the BTC port knew the risks of mining BTC with such a low hashrate. We can't punish new users and force them to absorb our bad luck.

The Help page looks complete. "Q: Do we pay extra fees to mine via P2Pool? A: Multipool currently donates 0.5% of mining profits to the P2Pool authors." I interpret this to mean miners pay 1.5% + 0.5% = 2.0% when mining BTC. Is that right? Yes that's correct. However, since we are now paying out tx fees, it should work out close to or better than even for miners. |
