5641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XMR-stak-JK 2.4.4 Compiled with no devfee on: June 25, 2018, 09:39:41 PM
@JaredKaragen

Thanks for putting this together.  I still want to compile my own, but it's been years since I've done any coding.  I'm sure I'll get a wild hair on a rainy day come winter.

After download, the antivirus software show file has virus ?

That's normal, most of us deal with it by creating a folder for mining programs, and adding that folder as an exception in Windows Defender.

Thank you for the explanation.  Would it be of any help if I load it on my GPU mining machine?  I have an off-line machine I use to generate wallets, so I wouldn't be using it for that.
Help in what way? By running Bitcoin Core on any machine, you are helping the Bitcoin network.

@ achow101
That's the answer I was looking  for,  I was wondering if it would help the network at all.  Thanks, I'll install it on at least one on-line machine this weekend.  And sorry for being such a noob that I drew the ire of so many wise-cracking burner accounts.  Roll Eyes
5645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.16.1 Released on: June 22, 2018, 10:48:24 PM
Pardon my ubernoobiness, but what is this for?

I have plenty of room on my mining rig's D drive, should I install it there?  If it's adventitious to the community, I'm happy to help.
Bitcoin Core is a full node software that powers the Bitcoin network. It receives, verifies, and relays all blocks and transactions broadcast to the Bitcoin network. It is also a wallet software.

Thank you for the explanation.  Would it be of any help if I load it on my GPU mining machine?  I have an off-line machine I use to generate wallets, so I wouldn't be using it for that.

now that ETH is going to go PoS you are going to add more cards to the network with the hashrate skyrocketing??? OMG.......... people are just Fu---cking up this.

Here's a question that'll chap Piskeante's hide: How many would I need to effectively mine solo?  Cheesy
5647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Sapphire Radeon RX 580 recommendations, please on: June 21, 2018, 06:07:55 PM
A question for those who have experience mining ETH with Radeon Cards:

I don't have a lot of experience with AMD chipset cards, but I'm thinking of adding a couple of RX 580s to my ETH machine.  I've narrowed my search down to the Sapphire Pulse, or the Sapphire Nitro+ (8gb cards.)  Which would you choose?  Any recommendations for bios settings and how to flash the bios for a first timer would be really appreciated.

TIA

hello my friends, can u say me why 11.8 don't work in windows 10 i do click in executable and this don't start and don't happend nothing, ... can u say me what is the problem please?.... sorry for my bad english. thank u very much.

You will need to run it from a batch file, unless all of the needed info is in your config.txt.
There is a minimum amount of info needed to execute the program; ie. a pool address, a mining address, etc.

Yes i run it from .bat and don't work... bro.

Add a line at the end of your .bat with nothing but "pause" It will leave the command window open after the miner stops.  Then you can see what error, if any it's coming up with.  Very handy for trouble shooting.

5652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TOKEN] XYO - Decentralized Crypto-Location Oracle Network. Sale 20.03 on: June 14, 2018, 01:57:37 PM
You say that XYO is the newest breakthrough in blockchain and can be bigger than bitcoin and ethereum combined.
How exactly? What do you want to accomplish?

Hey there! In 5 to 10 years in a world full of smart cities, AI, robots, self-driving cars and drones, we need a location technology these things can rely on and XYO is aiming to be that technology. XYO is blockchain's first crypto-location oracle network, and their mission is to enable smart contracts to interact with the real world as if it were an API!

IBM has been working on blockchain tracking technology, and they have the capitol to take on a venture of this magnitude without an ICO.  So no, XYO isn't the hottest ICO of 2018, they're not the first or the only ones working on this technology, and I seriously doubt they'll be able to compete with IBM, or overtake bitcoin or ethereum, let alone the two combined.  I've said it before in this very thread; good luck to all of you who've participated, I remain skeptical.

You can't tweak NVIDIA bioses just like you can with AMDs. I used "polaris bios editor" to perform these little mods myself. I'm in no way an expert but I'm quite happy with the results.

Is there a big difference in power usage between AMD cards and Nvidia?  I've noticed a difference in my Nvidias from one manufacturer to another.  I.e. my 1070s are MSI and my 1080s are EVGA.  The 1080s are using 5 fewer watts (115 vs 120) for 14% more hashrate.  This is actually a big deal for me, my power costs are Californicated.
5655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 3.0c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Windows) on: June 12, 2018, 06:44:02 PM
That's not impressive, I reach almost 31,5MH/s with 2 of my RX 570s on Phoenix, and they are at least 50% than a 1070.

1080 with pill should be around 50MH/s. We've seen reports of this kind of pseed with ETH pill & Phoenix.

I don't think you earn more on ethminer rather than with Phoenix and its 0,65% devfee. You could buy a sub 15$ win 10 licence and compare.

I get 32.5 out of my 1070s and 37.1 out of my pilled up 8GB 1080s (averages.)  I think those getting 50Mh/s are running 1080ti with 11GB.

37.1 is not worth buying a 1080 when any Vega 56 get at the very least 40+ (42-47). Aren't X16, Equihash or Lyra still more profitable with a 1080?

I don't have the experience to know the answer to that.  I have very little experience with AMD chipset cards, and I've never flashed one.  Do you write your own bios or is there a download available?

Do you have an M1 Garand stacking swivel?

Probably.  I just started going through the AR parts, I'll check for some garand parts in the next couple of days.
5658  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Firearms and accessories on: June 11, 2018, 01:10:02 AM
What sort of accessories are we talking about? I am always after well priced AR stuff such as hand guards/BCGs/Etc...

I used to own a gunshop and built long range precision rifles.  Bolt actions mostly, but a bunch of National Match M14 clones, Garands, and ARs.  I sold the business so I could keep the house and ditch the woman, but I have a bunch of small parts left over.   I'll look through my stuff, I may have some BCGs and the like.  If I find anything you may be interested in I'll PM you.

I would be interested in this kind of thing, but you provide next to no information. This probably more fittingly belongs in the "Marketplace" board, where things like this are discussed. This board is more so for the actual sale of items for BTC. Yes, there is interest though; our community prioritizes freedom as a thing of great importance and with freedom comes the requirement for firearms. Almost nobody reputable will do anything illegal in this regard, so as long as it is FFL to FFL and other laws are followed you would have customers for sure.

Any firearm I acquire would have to comply with CA/NY laws and that's a daunting task, but if it passes then you have my interest.

I actually had more info in this post originally, including links to my feed back on ebay, gunbroker, and the falfiles.  Then I though better of posting so much info for the eyes on this forum, lol.  Anything I sell will, of course be legal, and since I'm in California, compliant to our draconian restrictions.  I was merely feeling things out to see if there is interest, so perhaps you're right about this posting being in the wrong thread.

I'll get around to taking some photos of the guns I'll be selling within the next few weeks, and I'll make sure to include a post here.

5659  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 3 bed house in London 92.77BTC on: June 08, 2018, 09:11:14 PM
If the price was the main issue, then you;d be better off  looking outside of London. I can put you in conctact with other venodrs if your interested.

For me the price is not the issue, the fact that it ain't America is the issue.

The price is also an issue here that one would cough out about $697,500 to buy a 3 bed house? Would that not buy an entire building? I don't get, how people reason that he could just put the advert and someone will come running ready to part away with 92btc without any justification for that whatsoever. I doubt if anyone has that kind of money and wanted to buy such property wouldn't want to do it with swam of lawyers from both ends with government agencies also present to ensure things are going on smoothly. Good luck in finding a buyer.

There are plenty of locations in teh US where $700k will barely buy you a shithole.  Look at the median price of a house on Manhattan Island, or some of the more sought after locations in and around NY City.  In the San Francisco Bay Area you'd be lucky to find a refrigerator box under an overpass with views of Golden Gate Park for that price [/exaggeration].  It's not surprising at all that an upper-crust neighborhood in London would fetch prices like that.

I don't see anything in this thread to suggest the seller expects a buyer to send BTC without the due diligence typical of a real estate transaction.
5660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2018 and CPU Mining Guides on: June 06, 2018, 10:11:52 PM
As a normal computer user, I use to keep my i5 PC for mining in free time.  I found ROI-coin is the best coin to mine and then traded on exchange after 30 days, the return on ROI-coin is very high and roadmap of the coin looks great. https://roi-coin.com

I am also mining roi coin.

I'm not seeing it on coinmarketcap.  Is it listed on an exchange?
