@lovesmayfamilis Seems like your effort in this case (Salamstar) has been in vain, as this user ban has been lifted and changed to signature ban until December 31st 2020. While I agree that signature ban should be enforced more often for specific cases, I just don't see how ban evasion part could be ignored.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5279396.0

I honestly don't know what's going on in the Arabic locale.
This is not the first case of plagiarism identified in the past week. I get the impression that they don't read the rules at all.

Besides plagiarism, this account has been banned twice already.

My question is, if all this evidence is not enough to prove ban evasion, then what is? Or am I missing something in this case?

Here we have use of the same address, social media accounts, telegram usernames etc, and still that wasn't enough. I mean, majority of the evidence in this thread comes from use of same address, and we could see in this case  that wasn't enough. I am aware of the fact that there is always a chance that someone might try frame someone else by using the address, but in this case Salamster used ETH address long after those two previously banned accounts. As a matter of fact, he even registered two weeks after those accounts got banned (they were banned on April 29th 2019 while Salamster was created on May 15th 2019. So no questions who used ETH address first.

Thoughts?

REAL identity: Linda Horn? possibly stock photo
So called "Linda Horn" is without the doubt just another stock photo, like rest of the fake team.

UNFORTUNATELY, I cannot create a flag as I have an inactive flag on the user. Will provide a flag after 180 days; as of now, please neg-tag the user.
Since you can't create flag against @Arch Crypton Game, I took the liberty to create one, I hope you don't mind, no point to wait for 6 months since activity of @Arch Crypton Game mainly  consists of creating ANN threads for dodgy DeFi projects, so better warn newbies and guests immediately since you made solid case against him. By the way, nice find, keep up the good work, and you have been very active lately!

I guess putting red layer over images didn't help them to hide the fact that they used random generic images for their fake team.
Yep, they thought that by using some red filter for team member photos will somehow magically fool the reverse image search.

Znaci negdje dolje treba staviti logo.

5684  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this right way to fill weekly quota for signature campaign? on: October 04, 2020, 07:35:10 AM
Hopefully, if mods would see more users reporting such posts, they won't leave them unhandled anymore. I have a few hundreds of such reports left unhandled forever, as they were reported more than 30 days ago and I can't see them anymore. And, as far as I know, mods don't see them anymore as well if they were reported more than 30 days ago.
+1

At best, examples provided be @Coolcryptovator  should be seen as low value posts, and imho, should be dealt accordingly, and in this came it means deleting such posts. No personal comment on topic, just c/p pieces of articles. All we need is army of newbies sharing articles and getting away with it. Who knows, maybe then we would see some change.

As far as I see, mods take action when such shillings (spam) are done by low ranked members, but tend to tolerate the posts made by users with higher ranks, although I don't understand why.
Well that sucks if that's really the case. You would expect something like that from newbies, but higher ranking member should know better. Low value post is low value, no matter who wrote it, or in this case copied.

I think its time to add a new rule to the signature campaigns, like when someone wants to add an article or any other news content should be included inside tags

Code:
[quote]....... article or anything which taken from other websites....[/quote]
so it won't be counted towards the number of characters needed for that post to become eligible.
This rule should be introduced not just for signature campaigns, but for posting in general. Verbatim copying should be inside quotation marks, since bitcointalk has very strict stance towards plagiarism, and that is generally seen as such (not here though).

Wrong, if someone isn't breaking forum rules somehow then moderators will not take any action. It doesn't matter if a thousand user reports against him, still report will be unhandled.
Rule nr 1

1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads.

What's the value of the post if you just copy everything, without providing any personal comment?  That way I can share news about just about anything, without knowing squat about the subject.
5685  Economy / Scam Accusations / [Warning] Helix Nebula - suspicious donations/charity project! on: October 04, 2020, 07:07:53 AM
What happened: Helix Nebula presents itself as platform for directly helping those in need, so something like GoFundme me, but without  intermediary. It's all fine and dandy, but for such charitable platform, one would expect some kind of transparency, but there is nothing here. For me it looks like just  another dodgy project created to dump tokens via Uniswap.

As explained in their ANN, their token Eye of God (EOG) doesn't have any real use, other than show that you helped someone. Oh yeah, anothe reason to buy thier tokens is to increase the price..
If someone has a Eye of God (EOG) token, it means that he has helped someone or he has motivated others to help each other. So one of the simple ways to help this project is just to buy tokens. By purchasing tokens, you increase the price, and this raise motivates the donors to help more to get tokens. This is an endless profitable cycle for everyone.

Another big red flag is their 20 ETH lottery for all EOG holders, and somehow I think that's the real point of all this, get people into buying and holding their worthless shitcoins  for a chance of getting 20 ETH. I doubt that any project with good intentions would go for something like that right from the start. Sharing here warning from @Twinkledoe

I don't know where you will get your 20eth here for lottery. But for those who will try to join, check if the site is not a phishing site when you connect your wallet

https://helixnebula.help/

And this is how it looks when someone asks for help. People basically just share their stories, and then you can donate and get rewarded EOG tokens for that. Seems like a perfect place for scammers to sell their fake stories.

Seven pages of trash for Ucacoin ann thread!
Based on what I have seen so far I gave them negative feedback for hiring bumping spammers.
Never hire anyone to write something in your topics.
Seems like they didn't just hired bumping accounts. After some  digging (as I usually do when there is similar project that hired bumpers), I found out that  they are also part of MLM scheme that sells some kind of magical beauty products, and we all know that in these scams average people loose money and top few get rich, as in all pyramid like schemes. Anyway, I made thread about then in scam accusation board, feel free to support the flag!

[SCAM] UCACOIN-Latest project of known MLM scheme "Verway"
5687  Economy / Scam Accusations / [SCAM] UCACOIN-Latest project of known MLM scheme "Verway" on: October 03, 2020, 03:47:23 PM
What happened: While doing some background checking after adding Ucacoin to the list of AN threads that hired bumping service I found out that there is a bit more going on. As a matter of fact, it is the latest addition to Verway MLM scheme  that is going on since 2017. As previously mentioned, Verway is a MLM company that typically for similar MLM schemes sells beauty/health products (magic creams that remove wrinkles in a couple of minutes etc) but as in all similar schemes, 99% of the people loose money while those few at the top benefit. Add on that fact that Ucacoin hired bumping service that promoted numerous scams before them, and you get the enough reason to open this thread and warn the others.

Flag Type 1 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2366

For those who want to know more about Verway and way they operate, I suggest checking this overview

As in all MLM schemes, it's all about getting as many people as possible into this, and that way generate the revenue, as seen in this nice little pyramid from Ucacoin website

Regarding their coin, UCA,  it is just another heavily centralized POS quasi cryptocurrency. What's interesting  is the fact despite already being listed on several exchanges (DigiFinex, Cointiger, Crex24 among others) they also sell cards, which when you turn into UCA Coins, that you can later use for staking. Naturally, UCA is down 95% from their ICO.

As mentioned before, Ucacoin hired "marketing agency" to promote thier ANN and fake the interest, as discovered by @nutildah

This farm is back, now spamming for a project called UCACOIN. I'm gonna go ahead and tag all of them. One tag wasn't enough to stop them but maybe 2 will be, who knows.

Here's a few recent additions to this particular farm, some of which have also commented in the IndexChain thread:

Like the other merited accounts in this farm, most merit for this farm was obtained from Basorexia.

And this is how it looks like on their thread. Part of the spam has been deleted, while rest will deleted soon.

Person behind both Ucacoin and Verway is Ilhan Dogan, who has long history of involvement in MLM schemes. Before starting his own MLM, he was part of LR Health and Beauty Systems and one of their top sellers. But I guess that wasn't enough so he decided to start his own scheme, again selling similar stuff.

tl;dr
"Cryptocurrency" used for MLM scheme that hired shill accounts for promotion. Avoid at all cost.

If youre not a risk taker and believe in much fundemantel of blockchain like bitcoin then no need for you mate to enter defi shit. Im just really a risk taker thats why Im getting fomo with some of these, since I earned from them. But not advisable to everyonr to follow cause the risk is too high. So this helioswap must be same.
I was a risk taker back in 2017/2018, but it didn't bring me much profit. Neither did trading, so I focused mostly on Hodl. Maybe I missed some good opportunities during this hype,  but I worry less and sleep much better. Would have been cool if I picked that Uniswap airdrop though, but knowing my trading skills, I would loose more than they airdropped.

Damn so its still manual checking. I admire you bro, finding it wasnt easy. I never posted copied whitepaper on my scam topics, so Im asking a better way to locate them. Anyway thanks for the suggestion.
I did try plagiarism tools at the beginning, but they didn't prove to be any better than manual checking via Google. On the contrary, it was even worse so I ditched that. At least that was my experience, maybe others have more luck with that, or they are using better tool than I did, those paid ones could be much better as I only tried free version,

Good find, I added Ucacoin to that list. Regarding accounts used, tagged them as well, even though I doubt that will stop them, since they freely used already tagged accounts, so they probably dont really care about that much. But well, it's worth trying, in the worst case scenario they will start using new accounts, as they usually do.

Like the other merited accounts in this farm, most merit for this farm was obtained from Basorexia.
That guy is some piece of work, he made nice profit on this forum and all of this started with anniversary contest, which he exploited to the fullest. First through merit sale, and then he  he scammed bunch of people for some collectibles that he never delivered. Weird thing is that this guy still doesn't have any flags against him, while i thought he will get Type 2/Type 3 by now. Maybe at least Flag Type 1 should be raised, to warn newbies and guests?

We understand that avatar is an important means of self-expression on the forum and many people want to wear their unique avatar. That is why we decided to accommodate the wish of the participants and we thus allow custom avatars.

However, there are to important things to consider. Firstly, your custom avatar must have our company’s logo and it must be clear and visible. Secondly, before wearing the avatar we must approve it (send us a private message).

Bravo!

Novi mjesec, nova analiza aktivnsti domaceg boarda

Kao i svaki put do sada, svi podaci preuzeti sa @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboarda gdje mozete naci hrpu dodatne statistike ako zelite ici u detalje.

Broj postova u periodu 1.09-30.09

19 merita Topic: Stock-to-flow Model - Modeliranje vrijednosti Bitcoina na temelju rijetkosti by @-CryptoViking-

We'll have a trial run for one month or so after which results will be evaluated to determine the future of this campaign.

2 mjesta otvorena u Tower.bet kampanji, 1 Sr Member (.0032 BTC tjedno) i 1 Full Member (.00228 BTC tjedno)

Payments have been sent to everyone who qualified, there are 2 open spots as well. 1 Sr and 1 Full member spot.
5694  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] ANN threads that are using bumping services on: October 02, 2020, 06:36:54 AM
Short description what happened:
One person from the team agreed to a test check of "Vitor Services" without consultation. He did it just before the weekend. The weekend made us realize what was happening late on Monday. In Tuesday immediately we resign of this unethical service. They stopped a few hours after our resignation.
At the moment, the entire thread has been almost completely cleared of Vitor posts, and the accounts are probably banned by moderators.
No one at PrimeBit is looking for such advertising services. It was a mistake resulting from poor verification of the company offering the marketing service.
Please try to understand this and we would be grateful if you will remove Primebit from this infamous list.

Let me know if you need additional information to make a decision.
First of all, I am glad to see that you realized your mistake, admitted it and stopped with their "service". As a matter of fact, this is the first time since I created this thread that someone admitted hiring "marketing agency", and even naming. Because of that, and because you reacted relatively fast (in a matter of couple of days) I will remove your name.  Hopefully more names from the list will do the same and stop using these kind of services.

Regarding Vitor Services, they are known name here on bitcointalk, and they are responsible for majority of thread bumping on this forum. Almost every time when I add new thread to the list, it is possible to find connection with one of their older clients. By the way, how did they offer you this? Did they contact you directly on the forum (and if yes please share the account name) or it was done externally?

I just 22 spams from EGGSBOOK. These were all the spam posts I found. Maybe others were deleted already. I did not find any spam on PrimeBit. I guess this topic was already cleaned before the cleaner came in Smiley
EGGSBOOK just started with their bumping, so that's why I think number was so low, but from my experience it is a good thing to start reporting immediately as sometimes they just give u when they see that posts have been deleted regularly, basically on the daily basis. Regarding Primebit, I reported those few days ago, but there weren't many posts to begin with.

"Low value post" seems to be my go-to.
I am personally using " ANN bumping spam", and when I am cleaning thread that is proven scam,  use " ANN bumping spam, promoting scam". Those are my two that Im using in 99% of the cases when reporting this.

Latest addition, making it 74th on the list.

[ANN][POS] UCACOIN - Community Coin ICO Upcoming
As reported by @nutildah, they recently started with thread bumping. Some accounts used are new, and some  are part of previously tagged group of accounts that also abused merit system, among other things.

This farm is back, now spamming for a project called UCACOIN. I'm gonna go ahead and tag all of them. One tag wasn't enough to stop them but maybe 2 will be, who knows.

I did not plagiarize, but I am the owner of the account in the other forum and it is natural that my writing here in this forum is similar to my response there in the other forum and I can prove in any way you want that account belongs to me.
If you are really the owner of that that you should be able to edit that post from cryptotalk and add some info like the link to your salamstar account, and stating that you posted the same text on bitcointalk, or something along those lines. In that case, you might have some chance to remove the ban.

Recently there was a similar case, Incorrect ban for plagiarism - I copied my own text and from what I can see, it still haven't been resolved even though OP proved that he is behind the original content.

Edit :I just realised that you are ban evading as well. In that case, I think that your fate has been sealed.

Nice catch again Rikafip! I've recently bumped onto their announcement thread and it was too good that it seems to be true, but looking further on to the link, (hovering the whole ANN image), you can see that it will direct you to "http://https//helioswap.org", hence I've been suspicious with the occurring redundancy on the URL link alone

I think that's just a mistake of a person that made their ANN, he simply used the wrong link. And they were so lazy and incompetent that they didn't even check if links are working properly.

What happened; HelioSwap took content and ideas from Mainframe whitepaper and Falcon Swap project and used it as their own, without providing any reference whatsoever.
Maybe they thought no one would noticed. Falcon swap is one of the mid tier project that reach more than 10x as ATH so these guys are probably trying to get that hype. Though thanks to our diligent scam hunters here, these are exposed. Thanks for posting again a good catch mate, supported the flag.
Until I checked HelioSwap, I never even heard about FalconSwap as I'm not really into DeFi and I stay away from it. One thing always surprises me is the fact that scammers tend to copy well known projects, while that generally makes it easier to spot. They are just that stupid sometimes.

Awesome catching mate. But how do you verifying this, I mean in which online seo plagiarizm checker?
I've tried some tools at the beginning, but now I mostly use good old Google. Nothing fancy, just that. And after some time you start seeing some inconsistencies so it makes it a bit easier to sport. For example, part of the whitepaper was written in subpar English, and then suddenly you have parts clearly written by someone fluent. That's a big red flag, and usually means that part has been copied.

@qwertyup23 Good job with all these reports, just one small suggestion, since I see that you are on  DT2 (even if you weren't it is a good thing to tag scammers) : it is not a bad idea to tag the OP of the fake thread due few reasons:
  • That way you will warn the others that stumble upon the thread, as even though fake threads are deleted pretty fast, in some cases it might take a day or two.
  • For some reason, not all accounts get banned, so it is a good thing if account has been tagged already if scammer decides to use the same account
  • It helps the others that are reporting such threads, as when I see the tag, I know that it was reported already so I don't have to check this thread.

Cheers and keep up the good work!

Merit posaljem cim nesto skupim, standardno sam uvijek na 0.

Fini intervjui ekipa, i sigurno spadaju medju najzanimljivije, a procitao sam ih vecinu.

Same here, received one two days ago from this guy, but it was the first time I had someone PM begging if I remember well.
When I saw those two posts made by that guy it looked kinda suspicious, as his first post was too well written for a brand new account, and from my experience, it is usually plagiarism, and 2nd one wasn't properly referenced He even got some merit for it. Just a little bit of reverse image search of the chart he shared and voila, he did copy his "analysis" from some Iranian website. He just Google translated it and that's about it. Here is one small example. Just shows what kind of people begs for merit.

*The moving average of convergence and divergence is slowly entering the descending zone.
*The hourly relative strength index is declining to 50.
*The main support levels are $ 9275 and then $ 9180.
*The main resistance levels are $ 9350, $ 9375 and $ 9500.

By the way, sorry for the offtopic, didn't want to derail this topic, but had to bust this guy.

Regarding the merit begging, aren't there enough merit giveaways threads in Beginners&Help section? Some of them were even closed due low interest, so I really don't get why would anyone do that. So far I haven't experienced that, but if I do, I might consider neutral tag for those.
