581  Economy / Economics / Re: Amazon's future plans on: August 24, 2021, 11:00:24 PM
Look, all corporations are expected to follow with the trend of crypto. There is absolutely nothing here.

Amazon has historically been at the forefront of technology so this doesn't surprise me one bit.

What people need to realize though is that these instances of blockhcain adoption by corporations has pretty much 0 effect on the decentralised crypto ecosystem - they are simply centralized bodies that are planning on using their own proprietary blockchain technology to achieve goals of immutability/scalability, and nothing else.
582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best wallet for Crypto Sportbooks deposits/withdrawals? on: August 24, 2021, 09:55:59 PM
I’m using an exchange wallet without experiencing any problem here, maybe its because the amount of money is just small. Well, to be more safe I have to think for other options as well and many here suggested Electrum, I’m not sure though if it will work. How about if you’re going to withdraw and deposit thru LTC? Any good wallet to use for?
Litecoin wallet you've been seeking?

Aside from exchangers then you can make use of HW like Trezor and Ledger nano.

For Desktop wallets then make use of Exodus,Atomic,Jaxx,Litecoin core and Electrum LTC. It doesn't matter which one and find out what suits out your needs.

I personally use Exodus and Electrum LTC for all my LTC gambling.

As long as you don't go out and use hosted wallets/custodial wallets, you're okay.

There is very little difference between the individual wallets apart from the UI. Electrum LTC is probably the simplest to set up but the tradeoff is that their interface is quite basic, while Exodus supports multiple coins which could be good if you're looking at playing with ETH, LTC, and BTC which seems to be the norm these days.
583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most active bookie for cricket on: August 24, 2021, 09:27:16 PM
I guess there are a lot of gamblers here who like to gamble on cricket matches. I'm one of them as well. I'm mostly using stake to place bets on cricket matches and they are pretty good if I have to give a short review. But, what are the others? Have tried sportsbet long ago but for some reason, I gave up that one. What are the others bookies which is suitable for cricket betting?

I think that cricket is generally a fairly active sport on most bookkeepers?

I think look into Stake (which you are already using, it seems), Sportsbet and Nitrogenbet. Most of them have similar odds and have pretty much all the major events.

If you want better odds then potentially look into betting exchanges like Fairlay as well, although I don't see the point if you are just a retail bettor who is trying to have some fun. The odds aren't likely to differ by that much anyway if you look at it.
584  Economy / Economics / Re: Philanthropy as a paradox for the uber-rich on: August 23, 2021, 09:19:36 PM
Recently I read about the divorce of Bill Gates and how the Melinda & Bill Gates foundation will continue with business as usual despite Melinda´s spin-off (off the marriage). This foundation manages 49 billion in assets, mostly from donations from the uber-rich.

While Microsoft does not have a particular fame for mistreating employees, most of the large companies, to some extent, are benefiting from market monopolies, questionable tax exemptions and in some cases questionable Human Resources practices. Does it make sense to you to first "take" from society by paying little tax and then doing philanthropy to "give back"? Sound to me quite cynic.

For sure. You also have to consider the potential tax advantages that these foundations bring.

The intentions of the elite are very well veiled but this is one of the cases where an idiot can tell what is going on.

They are trying to cement a legacy through this play - it is completely hypocritical for them to establish a monopoly, perform anticompetitive behaviour, and proclaim that they are some sort of a saint. But people buy the narrative for some reason.
585  Other / Archival / Re: [LIST] The Introduction of Bitcoin Into the Global Economy on: August 23, 2021, 12:31:48 PM
Isn't it slightly ironic how all the CeFi providers are now singing a completely different tune after seeing how lucrative the bitcoin profits are?

It just goes to show how spineless they are. Some of them are even offering bitcoin trading without the option of depositing/withdrawing actual bitcoin which is absolutely insane - they are essentially disguising a derivatives product as a spot product without people knowing.

Bitcoin's success does not depend on the support of these platforms.
586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch introduces restrictions on gambling-related links - deadline 17 Aug on: August 23, 2021, 12:00:42 PM
Twitch introduced this restriction in response to lots of criticism from the platform's users who were concerned about children and vulnerable people having to access to such content, but also because (and I think it's the main reason) streamers aren't transparent when advertising casinos. It means the public never knows if they use money from their pockets or fake tokens given by the casino they promote.
This subject was already discussed here innumerous times on another threads as many members of this forum may remember. As we can see the concern really exist and became even a complainment directed to Twitch support.

I just think Twitch doesn't know or doesn't have how to solve this issue, so in order please their users, they simply introduced an useless restriction that isn't going to stop streamers to promote gambling in the platform, but that at same time will be useful to show their public they care for it are trying to solve this.

Exactly.

I think that the transparency issue is probably the last straw.

There has been a ton of affiliated streamers who are unwilling/unable to disclose the nature of their deals with the casinos that they are promoting, and as such, mislead people into thinking that they are hitting much more wins than they actually are. It's indeed unethical and a good riddance.
587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When do you know is time to walk? on: August 23, 2021, 11:08:23 AM
Have a goal in mind - once you cross that line, take profits and enjoy yourself a pint.

Also similarly, sit down and write on a piece of paper what your stop loss is.

This way, you keep yourself accountable and are more likely to not have to walk away with the mindset of "just one more bet". You should be celebrating any win that you get as opposed to sulking that you didn't win more. The latter mindset is what kills players.
588  Economy / Services / Re: 1xbit.com honest review campaign (open) on: August 23, 2021, 10:53:26 AM
1xBit does have a good interface and is one of the few sportsbooks that actually has a mobile app. On the technology front they are certainly up there.

And I think that it is a good sign that there are new affiliations made with other networks like Mysterium. I also like the transparency at which they seem to be operating with now.

If they do keep this up I'm open to having my opinion changed about their reputation and customer service. But right now there still seems to be a backlog of cases that seem to not be resolved yet, which is a worrying sign for any players still. Hopefully this does get mended soon.

589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFT games also another way to gamble your money? on: August 20, 2021, 12:01:46 AM
I see it differently based on the nature of the project.

Stuff like pulling cards are completely random and therefore probably can be considered as gambling. Whereas picking individual projects to invest in does not necessarily constitute gambling in the traditional sense as if you have the right networks and insight you can certainly gain an edge over the rest of the crowd.

Is the latter still risky? Absolutely. But there are certainly prolific NFT investors that have shown that they have the strategy/platform to consistently pick winners - so it's speculation at best.
590  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC approaches resistance on: August 19, 2021, 10:47:25 PM
Yeah, the resistance at $50k seems to be very firm.

I don't think that it will be an issue in the long run for BTC to breach $50k given that fiat is ultimately an inflationary asset (a very inflationary one at that in recent months). However, there is a chance that we will fail to reach that figure during this bull run.

The technicals are certainly indicating the top for this bull market is behind us, and sentiment analysis would also show a decrease in retail enthusiasm. But again these problems are negligible in the long run.
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch introduces restrictions on gambling-related links - deadline 17 Aug on: August 19, 2021, 10:11:14 PM
One things to say about these

*Streamer with fake/sponsor money is panicked! ~XD BTW, welcome to twitch when they restricted some of the content but the content for simp with almost half naked girls still can be available ~XD.

Roshtein with sponsor money play just got banned because of these.  Grin

Yeah definitely...

I think this is actually a positive development. There is way too much misinformation and misleading advertising being spread around due to these Twitch partners that are getting sponsor money. It's simply not fair given that they can cherrypick wins into a compilation video with their virtually infinite bankroll.

I'm all for consumer empowerment in this regard. They should actually extend the criteria to ban anyone who is playing with sponsored money that has to be returned when the session finishes.
592  Economy / Services / Re: 1xbit.com honest review campaign (open) on: August 16, 2021, 06:59:09 AM
Review

As others have said, I have noticed that 1xBit's odds is generally above average.

I'd say that if you are trying to play on the site though, I would strongly suggest that you just avoid the first deposit bonus altogether and stick to direct deposits. It is way too much hassle trying to fulfill the criteria of the bonus and people have historically had issues with them. I took a read of the T&Cs and there were a bunch of hoops that you had to jump through, including minimum bet odds, excluded games, turnover requirements, etc.

You could argue that it's industry standard to have these bonus terms, but honestly I wouldn't risk it for a few % of better odds given the shady track record.

593  Other / Archival / Re: Bitmex changes the fee rate. Good news and bad news on: August 16, 2021, 06:35:12 AM
Quote
So the good news is that the taker fee is dropping from 0.075% to 0.05%. Now the commissions for opening a trade look very tasty compared to other derivatives exchanges. And the bad news is that the positive maker's commission has been greatly reduced, which was -0.025% earlier, and now it will be -0.01%, which is certainly not encouraging.

Not sure about what this move sets out to achieve.

Isn't the whole point of an exchange offering rebates trying to encourage liquidity in the orderbooks? With this move, they're essentially decreasing the incentive of doing so.

And I don't even think this is the best way to raise revenue. Their net margins have decreased as a result of this move.

But fair enough, it's a move to align with Deribit and other players who are also offering the -0.01%/0.05% fee structure it seems.
594  Economy / Services / Re: 1xbit.com honest review campaign (open) on: August 05, 2021, 10:55:50 PM
I appreciate the effort that 1xBit's team has put in in terms of trying to clear up past cases, although there are still a few outstanding ones that needs to be resolved.

Given the commitment, I would be comfortable with playing with a small amount on their website. However, I definitely would not deposit anything more than $100 given that there are certainly still tainted spots from past years.

The site itself, as others say, is pretty good. I've played on this site a few years ago when the accusations hadn't all come out yet and it was a very smooth experience, one of the best UX in the sportsbook industry objectively.

595  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CryptoForum.org on: December 04, 2020, 05:57:51 AM
Hello Friends,

Acquired CryptoForum.org for a dedicated Crypto Forum.

What feature would you like to add to it?

Looking for your inputs and suggestions before starting this project.

You can also PM me.

Cheers.

Great domain name but honestly I don't see much practical value. A lot of people prior have already tried to imitate bitcointalk and make a wider forum, but it has just never worked out from a commercial standpoint. Yobit even paid tens of BTC in advertising their Cryptotalk site and still failed.

All in all, it'll  be incredibly difficult for you to differentiate yourself from an already established forum of bitcointalk.

I think that you have two paths that you can go by in terms of deciding what features will be included that will give you some chance of success:

a) Paid posting, this will keep the forum at least alive but honestly will probably lead to more harm long term than good.
b) Niche forum for a particular user group. For instance, for altcoin day traders.

But even going down these routes will likely not be successful given the sheer dominance of bitcointalk.
596  Economy / Reputation / Re: Cheating translator and incompetent manager on: December 04, 2020, 05:19:04 AM
Well done, OP. This is exactly the type of stuff that unfairly disadvantages actually hardworking bounty hunters.

The managers have just as much responsibility here. They are not only essentially providing fraudulent services to their employer/s, but also flooding the forum with useless garbage.

Unfortunately, the issue is really rooted in the fact that there are so many intrinsically worthless alts and ICOs that have no issues condoning this stuff. As long as they get their message out there, even they don't care about  the quality of translations. After all, they can just create a new coin each day under a new name and hire the cheapest labour they can find to promote them.  Undecided
597  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Default - asu u=519783 on: December 04, 2020, 05:07:14 AM
Just in. I recently visit coins.ph office and they are willing to cooperate to solve the issue. They need a formal letter (official Request for Information) from the authorities to share information. I hope that someone can do this in my fellow country man to help OP since this the second big loan defaulted from him.

I can submit the formal request letter to the coins.ph office once its available.

Breath of fresh air to see these companies cooperating in these issues - it would certainly serve as a very important precedent for future scams involving bitcoin. Should deter scammers at least a little bit given that the threat of potential real life penalty. Good job OP and the community on chasing this up - a lot of lenders just let these defaults slide after a red tag and in the long run that gives scammers a sense of complacency.

@cabalism13 might be the one to actually help since he almost knew all the members closely of our internal group.
Already gave Dire some hints, but as we can see there's no update on what he plans to do next... Just by searching on facebook and connecting the dots tru coins and gcash, the user behind asu will be caught in no time, IMO (Only if we push this with the help of the authorities)

Hopefully this will go through with authorities. Not sure about regulatory standards in ph but obviously getting through the privacy barrier will be tough. Coins.ph will have to weigh their risks here of releasing private info but there's obviously higher chances now that they've committed.
598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can there be some Bitcoin Central Agency in future? on: October 14, 2019, 08:22:41 PM
Whenever and if that ever happens, it'll be the end of bitcoin for us and we'll likely lose a lot of support for the coin since it's core philosophy, decentralisation will be changed then.

Bitcoin was made to help decentralise things and give the people more power, if that's removed there's no point to it, so it'll never happen.
599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why don't US gov buy a trillion worth of bitcoin? on: October 14, 2019, 08:57:41 AM
Because if they would do that, it's like they're going against on what they're saying. Just recently when Trump said something against cryptoccurency and how it could just cause criminal activities. Meaning, he doesn't support crypto so basically the government wouldn't buy bitcoin.

Imagine saying a lot of things against crypto yet you're one of those who buy bitcoin as well. They don't even promote crypto because obviously they're for fiat, the one they can control.

If the government will buy trillion worth of btc, it's like they're showing to everyone the worth of btc.
They could do some OTC trades and then probably avoid a lot of press action, but it would almost be impossible to keep any amount over 10 million private and unknown to the public.

Trump has declared they don't want anything to do with it and that's probably the main reason they don't to touch the currency.
600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whale transfers 1000 BTC from Bitstamp exchange to External wallet on: October 14, 2019, 08:28:56 AM
Wait I'm a bit confused. Did they just purchase 1,000 BTC of coins off bitstamp and their transfer it into their own wallets, or did they just withdraw funds from the exchange - not sure who would keep 8 million on bitstamp.

OP, your links are working, and I can't understand whatever it is you posted, can you please edit it? Also can't find other stories about this and can't find a TXID..?
