I can't withdraw my funds, I have some BTC in my balance.. but in the "Withdraw popup" window it says 0 BTC.
What's wrong?
Does your balance come from the promo? If that is the case, I believe you need to make at least 5 bets (each with more than 20000 satoshi risked) before you can withdraw it. |

Escrow isn't a great way to earn money but a great way to improve the trust among the bitcoin community.
That's true, but it can also be used for a ;long con. Build up trust over a bit of time handling small amounts then as soon as somebody trusts you with a very large amount like 100 bitcoins or something you could dissapear. Thankfully though I think most escrowers are legit, but there's always a level of trust involved. I think the most trusted escrow here is escrow.ms, I would do large transaction with him without fear, but still there's a 0,00001% possibility that he will disappear with the coins. I think the chance is much higher than that, as he may come to an accident (fire accident, car crash, etc.) and be unable to release the escrow (not that he runs away with your coins). |

The real only way yo profit from mining is if you have cheaper then average electricity or free electricity available.
But then, it will make bitcoin mining more and more centralized as only those with significant money to buy newest ASICs and cheap electricity will join the game. |

I do face to face trades, meeting people in real life.
Be careful when you do face to face trades. It is very dangerous. Try to it in most crowded area. i wouldn't lay it on too thick -- people are buying/selling on localbitcoins legitimately all the time, every day. but yes, just meet in a Starbucks or something. i mean -- why would you meet anywhere NOT in public? Even if you do in public with less crowded area, there is a chance of robbery. There was a post earlier telling that some people tried to get BTC by force, luckily he escaped from there. That is why I told "most crowded area". Keep a distance from the person you buy or sell. Somebody just attempted to rob me of my phone after setting up a local trade.
I'm in a French city (not Paris) and somebody contacted me over localbitcoins for an in person trade.
He wanted to buy 500 euros worth of BTC.
We agreed to meet at a big open public square where there is a bar and lots of people milling around.
When we met up two people arrived and we started to talk about how the site works and how he can verify the transaction BTC.
I then whip out my phone and log in to my account stressing the whole time that I need extra passwords to release the funds. Then when I ask him for the moeny, one guy grabbed the phone while the other pulled out a tear gas canister and sprayed me. Luckily I had managed to grab back my phone and started to shout and swing a few punches and they ran off. I was glad that the place was quite full and people quickly helped me. I will be filing a police report but I'm not sure that it will do any good.
TLDR- Be careful when trading in person, criminals are starting to realise what bitcoin is about.
To be honest, I forgot about the thread you gave, I was talking about another. Then it happened to 2 people. Check the rating of the Seller in Localbitcoins before you buy. You may thing it is pretty easy but it isn't. Sometimes it may cost you your life. what are you talking about specifically.... miners? to be honest, the big farms will always be 10 steps ahead of you, and they will kill your ROI. but, i could be wrong, too. Generally, bitcoin mining is dead for individuals, however, there are some altcoins which may be mined with profit. Who told you 'bitcoin mining is dead for individuals' ? Many people are still mining. The problem is you will have to buy best miners on the market, which will cost you some $$$ . You can't tell it is dead but you can tell it is dead for individuals with small hash rate. Kindly, MZ The problem is that you can hardly get any profit from buying those ASICs, after considering the increasing difficulty and your electricity bills. |

You can, but I think the bitcoin/altcoin you are going to mine with your CPU will worth less than your electricity cost. In other words, you will be very likely mining for a loss. |
