So I upgraded to 2.7.1 and I've been getting cgminer quiting after about an hour. It doesn't crash, it just closes itself.
583  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: FastCash4Bitcoins Support Thread (Update: More PayPal funds available) on: August 22, 2012, 03:40:05 PM
I placed my first order today. Spent ~3 weeks in the hospital, got bills to pay Sad

Been watching this since it launched, looks awesome.

Just posting to say thanks. Got my ACH in 3 days. Cashed out at just the right time Cheesy

Wish btc price was higher again, I just got $1500 more in bills, but on the bright side I've hit my max out of packet for the year now...

I got a payment saturday for 8/14 I think. So he is alive, at least he was then.

I'm still the "largest" consistent miner here, AFAIK.

Bios mod a higher voltage and a lower clock and let cgminer set whatever you want after that.
You have to mod the gpu registers for the voltage not the voltages directly.

Also, anyone wanting to us US3, go for it...mine wherever as you see fit...  I need feedback on the servers, us1 & 2 can be upgraded, but they are under load and I mine them fine with gpus...  I use us3 cause it is local to my 2+ GHs farm!  my addy ends with E...

Well for me. Us1 and us2 consistently give me not providing work fast enough. My work box is ~1250mh consistently on us3. On 1 or 2 it runs around 1000 and revs up and down constantly. I'm directly on a 100 gb fiber backbone to Nap of Americas. I don't think it's latency or network speed. It's like they can't handle "fast" miners. A single get work >400mhash.
588  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BitcoinQT: solo mining / server mode? on: July 28, 2012, 12:41:59 PM
It's the same. Add -server to the shortcut , run the daemon in the daemon folder or add the server=1 in the bitcoin.conf
589  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [Project X] PPS Mining Club: High Mining Rewards *PRIVATE* on: July 27, 2012, 02:59:37 PM
Can you add when the cut off times are for each day. Share counts just aren't adding up for me. I've been logging on my side and it seems like sometimes large chunks go missing.like a whole server gets skipper for share counts or something. Primarily us1. Us2 for 7/25 shows no share changes at all and that totally not right.

alright, I'll go 3BTC.

Perhaps in the future you let the server bitcoind p2pool mine to a wallet that isn't on the server. You can specify any address. Dump the payouts as a file and run them all somewhere else.

Is anyone owed any coins or was this your loss jay?
592  Economy / Collectibles / Re: How would you like to design a bitcoin banknote? on: July 21, 2012, 03:41:54 PM
I still think the private key should be obscured or covered. Some tamper evident way. This way if the private key is exposed you know it could be worthless.

How about stay away from those kids and don't get sick this weekend Cheesy
594  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [Project X] PPS Mining Club: High Mining Rewards *PRIVATE* on: July 20, 2012, 06:41:06 PM
I've flipped around a few times today. It just seems that us1 and us2 give me "not providing work fast enough".
Us2 seems spotty its been going up and down all day.

Us3 seems peachy.

595  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 6990 caught on fire... on: July 20, 2012, 02:51:13 PM
I just had a 5870 fan fail and it got hot enough to melt a capacitor and some stuff off, and was still mining.

Didn't survive rebooting Sad
596  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What to do with my GPUs when ASIC arrives? on: July 20, 2012, 02:50:05 PM
If you live somewhere where it gets gold, mine in the winter and turn them off for the summer.  Just treat them as electric heaters that happen to pay you a few pennies a day.

Tell me more about using gpus to make gold.
597  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: After 8 months and 231 bitcoins... on: July 19, 2012, 11:24:34 PM
It's not stupid. The one time I found a block recently was when my pools were down. I fell back to solo and it hit a block.

It's hard to do these days. Found plenty of blocks a long time ago solo when CPU were worth something.
598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC mining with Reaper on a 7970 on: July 19, 2012, 08:57:03 PM
I have 2 7970 on order I'll tell you next week.

All I have right now are 5970 and 6990

for those

worksize 256
aggression 16
threads_per_gpu 1
sharethreads 18
lookup_gap 2
gpu_thread_concurrency 8192

works best

and again FAST memory, unlike bitcoin.
599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC mining with Reaper on a 7970 on: July 19, 2012, 08:44:28 PM
right. play with it and see what happens.  The highest you can get the memory the better. the core helps too, but memory speed is more important.

on a 6990 having the ram at 800mhz vs 1250mhz is the difference between 200khash and 800khash

Duh play with it. There are just a lot of options to mess with compared to btc mining and very little info I can find. Thanks

ok delete the bin files between runs.

worksize try 128 or 256 mine for a couple of minutes and see what gets the best rate.

aggression 12-19

Lower if you want to use the box for anything and background mine or if stales are too high. Higher for dedicated. beyond 19 isnt good.

threads per gpu, try them all 1, 2 and 4.  mine for a couple of minutes and see what gets the best rate.

sharethreads, lookupgap leave alone.

concurrency, start at 8192 and go up. try multiples of 1024 and again mine for a couple of minutes and see what gets the best rate

in half an hour you'll answer your own question.
