581  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Does Satoshi Dice break US Anti Gambling Laws? on: January 10, 2013, 09:20:15 PM
The fact that something is available on the internet that is not allowed in the US is most certainly not breaking any law unless it is directly marketing itself to the US population. Hence a paid advert in a magazine that is only published in the states could for example constitute a criminal offence.
I'm not certain the US courts see it that way.  They just indicted a guy for writing software that was used by gambling sites in the US.  I'm certain they could indict a gambling site that didn't make an effort to keep US players out of it.
If I were in some way affiliated with satoshidice I most certainly would not live withing the US and I'd actually be hesitant about traveling there either, but I'd be very very supprized if a "normal" country would extradite (I may of have mispelled that word) you there to face charges.

CPU mining available? Sigh ...

as U can see from pic, I dont mine with CPU Wink
Yes Smiley
I was just referring to the fact that the miner he releases shows it as an option.
You should appreciate te fact that the miner enables anyone with a computer that can understand english to try bitcoin mining out, even if only to realize that it is not worth their time. Doc and he's miner have brought plenty of newcomers in to the world of bitcoin.

Just for your information, I will reconsider my hasty decision (I was a little bit frustrated because the server crash ruined some days I have reserved with my real life..) However, I will give you 100% transparence if the site is going to be sold. Besides of that I am aware that Bitmit plays an important role in the Bitcoin community and my intention has always been to contribute to Bitcoins succeed in order to create a better world & financial system.

Good to hear.
I would like to very strongly urge you to reveal your identity in a manner that it can be verified, there has been a severe breach of trust and you need to rebuild it.
584  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [warning] bitmit.net was sold secret without telling the community. on: January 10, 2013, 07:33:22 AM
Why does anyone pick a particular nick, I wouldnt think too much of it.

your otc username?
(does this work for orders past, too?)

just received my money clip - jawsome work!
Im afraid this is not intended for past orders.. it's somewhat a measure I feel like Im forced to do because of the uncertanity around bitmit, which makes up ~70% of my sales.

Current Promotion:
As a measure to build up my otc-rating I am offering a 10% btc-back upon recieved otc-rating on all direct orders recieved while the offer is on the table, the offer is good for now and it's ending will be posted in the second post in this thread. The reason I am doing this is that I feel that my otc-rating may play a larger role in the near future, should bitmit close.

588  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When do you use your real name, if ever? on: January 09, 2013, 07:38:10 PM
I do not use my real name, I however have done nothing to hide it.. and should the internet police target me Im sure my identity would be "out there" in a matter of minutes.
589  Economy / Goods / Re: What would you give me (can be physical or digital) for 1 BTC? on: January 09, 2013, 02:48:23 PM
My car keys are not included Tongue

Why would anyone need the key itself?  All of the information needed to make copies of that key is right there in the picture.  Smiley
It'll start and open with a spoon too, so dont bother Tongue

Nobody seems to know who owns compost.com
Is it a good bitmit alternative? Is there a support?
I had one question as I tried the site out yesterday, in over 24h my message has not been replied, also there is virtually no information available on the site.
591  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitmit - Bitcoin shopping mall (Translators wanted) on: January 09, 2013, 04:43:29 AM
i love bitmit! great site.

well, it might have been "sold" to some china company, just to walk around german imprint laws and the likes,
still TOSAKI is the man maintaining it, so the main guy is still running the baby although a china company officially runs it now.

no big deal, normal offshoring. don't shit your pants guys.
Bet you dont have that much in escrows in there atm ?

Not knowing who has your bitcoins, slightly less than fun.
592  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [warning] bitmit.net was sold secret without telling the community. on: January 08, 2013, 06:04:13 PM
No.  But then again I dind't know Tosaki (the original Tosaki) was or wasn't German.

Very shady to sell site, forum accounts, email, etc to a new entity without making it public.   Lying (by omission) doesn't exactly inspire confidence.  I won't be using bitmit in the future and I have been an early supporter.
I'd like to see a reputable member purchase bitmit, Im sure this is propably still an option preferred by everyone.

Best silkroad commercial I've ever seen, hoped for something a bit different.

Damn this was already several month ago before the offical auction on the bitmit site was there... so dont panic

Not good enough if you want to keep my buisness, im afraid.
595  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [warning] bitmit.net was sold secret without telling the community. on: January 08, 2013, 04:30:31 PM
For your records: Tosaki is a native german user of the community.
Are you sure? Can you show some link to prove this?

As a frequent paying user I'd really like to hear a response to this, including the verifyable name and address of the current owner, actually I see no other way for me to continue using the service.

I'm thrilled to say I just purchased (through p.m., w/o escrow) a money-clip and a tiepin from Isokivi. Will get back and let everyone know what I think once I receive them in the mail.
Replying to state that the above is correct.
Thank you for your purchase.

I just realized that I have in total about 20% more accepted namecoin shares compared to bitcoin shares. Not speaking of per round shares here, those will obviously be wildly different because the chains don't have same difficulty. Maybe I just don't understand merged mining well enough, but shouldn't the total share numbers be roughly equal? I thought every share is used on both chains.
One crash some months ago did the same thing for my shares, cant remember what my hashrate was, but the difference stands at around 2 million shares.

Thanks, that may have something to do with it. Those numbers do look odd. I will investigate.

I was under the assumption I mentioned this to you on irc as I discovered it, apologies if I did not.
