581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: current LITE coin crash : graphics ! on: April 07, 2013, 07:16:07 PM
Even comparing to to btc, it falls less than btc grows, so even then it shows strength.

You should really rename your thread to "litecoin rally" lol
582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CoinHoarder's Physical Litecoins (Coming soon!!) on: April 07, 2013, 07:10:05 PM
Thinks for the feedback guys, perhaps I can come up with some sort of brand name instead.
Well in light of fincen reg you might have to create an LLC so perhaps a brand name like xxx cryptocurrency (xxx being reference to something like "physical" "solid")
583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CoinHoarder's Physical Litecoins (Coming soon!!) on: April 07, 2013, 06:42:36 PM
Looks nice, I would be in for a few.

One exception, and no offense to your "name", but "CoinHoarder" is not something I'd want on a physical coin.  Casascius has a much more exotic ring to it, no problem with that on his coins.
I understand what you mean, but at the same time I think he should value his branding. Maybe a compromise on the back instead of front? I feel that no matter the name, on the back might fit better.

Coinhoarder, this is probably very trivial,  but maybe the logo a tiny tiny bit smaller? Trying to visiualize 3d metal coin and it might remove a little extra bulk that might not be apparent 2d?
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CoinHoarder's Physical Litecoins (Coming soon!!) on: April 07, 2013, 06:40:08 PM
This is where I'm at now... Thanks for your help guys, I want you to like them- so please keep giving me feedback!!

I would prefer the number to be presented as a number and not as a string, ie  "1" and not "one". Also in the opposite part I'd like it to have the number with big font in the center, and a nice font in the background (i.e. many LTC miniature fonts diagonially). Take the 2 Euro coin for instance.

I have to disagree (not that my opinion is the only good one, just don't agree). I really like the alphabetical values on the outline which is why I also suggested a numerical on the front. There is something that paradoxically give alphabetical values a minimalist look on the outline instead of simple numbers. (I guess it comes from uniformity, if there was no letters on the coin maybe all numerical would look better)
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CoinHoarder's Physical Litecoins (Coming soon!!) on: April 07, 2013, 05:42:27 PM
Really like those. If you want a numerical value on , perhaps a relatively small embossed number top right or left.
586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does FINcen regulate Bytecoin? Do I pay taxes on mined BTE? on: April 07, 2013, 05:40:13 PM
As far as my understanding goes, FinCEN regulations only kick in when you are exchanging for a "real" currency. As long as you keep your transactions in the virtual exchanges, exchange for goods and services, or basically everything except converting to a real government based currency, you are exempt from FinCEN regulations. Once you attempt to convert into a "real" currency, FinCEN applies to help protect against money laundering activities.

Refer to:  http://www.fincen.gov/statutes_regs/guidance/html/FIN-2013-G001.html  for more information.
bottom line, it is how it works.
587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] [TRC|PPC|FRC] vPool.us - 1% fee, PPLNS on: April 07, 2013, 05:36:38 PM
Now, why do you wish to defend it so much?
no offense.
just I do not like monopoly and advertisement. I and you are one of the first miners on vpool.
earlier on vpool I received no fewer PPcoins as on Cointron. now I'm on the frc vpool and there fine.
well you saw my hash rate? I got 50% of what I should have. That's a 300$ loss. And the admin answer............

Coinotron doesn't want monopoly, they cannot sustain that much power and I am sure they would very much like another viable pool. This is not.

And advertisement? Where do they really do that more than someone else? And why advertisement is a bad thing? Consumers buy into advertisement, they speak with their wallet. It doesn't hurt anyone and many great, legitimate businesses survive with advertisement in 2013 (Google, car manufacturers, start ups, artists....

Give me a pool that is not stealing money from me by poor management or scam, I'll buy into it, until then, your reasons to defend are 100% dull.
588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CoinHoarder's Physical Litecoins (Coming soon!!) on: April 07, 2013, 04:22:31 PM
A simpler design based on your recommendations, I actually like this one the best so far: Wink

Also, notice that because I'm not making this in a 3D modeling program, my coin probably will not look as nice as the coin you guys posted earlier as an example.

After it's in its true form on a coin it will look similar... it won't actually be as colorful as this. The people making the coins will do the 3d stuff for me, I just need to give them some guidelines of a design to work off of.
its your favorite, as it is mine Smiley great revise. Should update OP with this revision added for traction.
589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] [TRC|PPC|FRC] vPool.us - 1% fee, PPLNS on: April 07, 2013, 04:20:41 PM
Pls write list of some other pool?
What is it? Coinotron promotion?
Why bitparking closed, vpool scam?
Why Vuxil make topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=169446.0?
there is only coinotron currently (sad truth). Bitparking closed for the reason stated by the admin (I shouldn't have to answer that) and the reason cool is marked as scam and a topic was started is evident in the claims in this thread AND amplified by the pool admins answer.

Now, why do you wish to defend it so much?
590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does FINcen regulate Bytecoin? Do I pay taxes on mined BTE? on: April 07, 2013, 03:49:35 PM
Fincen is about virtual currencies, not bitcoin, so it applies in the same manner.
591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CoinHoarder's Physical Litecoins (Coming soon!!) on: April 07, 2013, 03:20:28 PM
Man, it almost seems like I'm never going to come up with a design that everyone likes :\

To get these made will be thousands and thousands of dollars, so I need something most people will like so I can sell a few and don't waste a lot of money.

So you guys want something that looks.. for lack of better words.. more like a coin?

Ok, back to the drawing board...
fiat coins are well made in fact. Also, we are in a world where minimalist designs prevail.

You will get it right, you just want something sharp and plain, something that when you look at you say "oh its neat" and you were able to read it all with a split second glimpse.
592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CoinHoarder's Physical Litecoins (Coming soon!!) on: April 07, 2013, 03:09:42 PM
Just put a nicely engraved LITECOIN on top,
and something nioce & clever in the bottom.

Also on the round side you can see that the coins have ones and zeross  Cool
side etch is very neat but extremely expensive (north american coins don't have it for that reason)
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CoinHoarder's Physical Litecoins (Coming soon!!) on: April 07, 2013, 03:02:21 PM
how about these ones? i found that pic on reddit..

obviously those look good but need slight but added branding. (Similar to last sketch)
594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CoinHoarder's Physical Litecoins (Coming soon!!) on: April 07, 2013, 02:54:42 PM
You really want most if not all lettering closer to the edge, small, non-numerical and following the edge (sorry, the word to describe thus currently eludes me, but "rounded, not straight")

Also, concerning silver coins, that would be great and personally I'd pay 2-3$ more per 1oz if it was ltc, I'd buy a lot too, and I guess that price premium seems fair, so you could calculate your margin of that price. (I'll also strictly say at 4$ premium per oz, it becomes too much of a bad investment)

NFC chip in them would be so great too (obviously not the silver ones because of the smelting mess)

Thanks for the advice.  Smiley

Are these any better? I feel like they're getting worse and worse lol.. and no ones hardly giving me any feed back, so that makes me think that they are all really horrible! Undecided

The first ones were too clustered and made them look too cartoon-y thus giving a fisher price look. These ones are much better (the right one). Maybe don't go that descriptive (anonymous decdntrilazed p2p), maybe just decentrallized cryptocurrency?
595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PSA: PPC Miners, do not use vpool.us, it's probably a scam on: April 07, 2013, 02:50:50 PM
I make frc pre-mine on vpool and all is well. It's PPLNS reward pool as p2pool and etc.  Just need mine for a long time and wait block's confirm.
For example my main rig on BTC P2Pool 5 days without reward!!!
well thanks for the bump in the scam thread, I was just about to  bump it because its becoming pretty evident it is a scam.
596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC FPGA discussion! on: April 07, 2013, 02:30:16 PM
Hashrate?
is r e a d I n g  h 4 r d?
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Selling 1/10 oz gold coins for alts LTC, TRC, PPC on: April 07, 2013, 02:26:14 PM
Did you like randomly choose numbers? 3k, 6k, 9k....

Well at least ppc sounds the right price lol
598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of Work VS. Proof of Stake (Bitcoin - PPCoin) on: April 07, 2013, 02:21:29 PM
Wouldn't that encourage people to hoard coins? So I keep getting more blocks as I have more coins (or more stake.)
Certainly I believe it creates a balance between spending for just so not the lose value (fiat) and store of value (gold). After a while remember, not that many coins will be added in circulation, but there still always will be, so people have incentive to hoard to gain value, but with the ever increasing value, you have an incentive to spend (basically creating another means of supply/demand through the currency itself)

600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] [TRC|PPC|FRC] vPool.us - 1% fee, PPLNS on: April 07, 2013, 08:29:15 AM
I don't think it's a scam, though I did thought so at first.
2 days ago I started mining for 16 hours with ~330Mah/s and it shows I need to get paid for 2.1 PPC when confirmed, I immediatly switched to coinotron, but I just entered my profile and it shows that half of my shares are accounted for (some still waits confirmations) and my balance is 5.33790279 PPC..

So I don't know, maybe the estimated PPC is wayyy off, but it does eventually gives you the coins at the end?
Well that's what I said before, the round cutoff is non-existant and acts as 1 big round so its proportional pay per  share pool giving estimates of pplns. Its not working correctly, but should pay roughly the same.

But the pool operator prefers to not acknowledge the problem and call us, what, troublemakers or something? That's reason enough for me to not mine there even if its not a scam.

Its not our first day mining. If everyone says there is a problem and you say there is none, you should definitely reconsider.

Here is my experience with this "pool":
(After confirmation)

User id: petervii
Valid shares: 4086
Invalid shares: 40
Balance: 1.6964145 ppc

It works out to: 0.00041578787 per share

Or about 40 times less than cointron RBPPS rate.

The pool is misconfigured.

The only question is if it was misconfigured on purpose or an honest mistake.

Right now, it is ripping people off, big time.

for me, I was at 360ppc after my unpaid shares got all marked at paid, but today, I still get a little bit per blocks found, now up to 600. That's why I assume its gonna be roughly the same. Since its 1 huge round, I should get an ever decreasing pay per block. I guess my proportional analogy was inaccurate.

But You know, we are the problem, not the pool aparrently llol

Edit : also, the top 15 contributor gives a somewhat illusion of rounds because it shows unpaid shares, not shares of the round, which is also not how pplns works. And just because of the fucking mind oblitaring answer to issues by the pool admin :

Get the duck out of that pool it would take 100 days to get your full payment (if the admin is that shit at building a pool from a template!) Or never get full payment if this is a scam.

Now, you got my accusations for you. Giving no answer to fundamental problems and even dismissing them, get real.
