I can easily see how sellers love bitcoin and buyers don't. There aren't enough assurances for a buyer to feel comfortable. If a balance could be achieved I think things would really take off.

I've considered hosting in Utah, but WA beats us a bit on power cost.

I can't believe you run those jet engines in your living room. Does the new single fan S7 seem louder at all? I thought I saw somewhere that someone said it had a higher RPM fan than the two fan version.
YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK UP, HE CAN'T HEAR YOU. (a la Short Round) You velly funny, Mister CK! BTW...it's she. Elaine. No worries. I love it when a plan comes together. Anyway...the new single fan is as loud, in total, as the two fans on the older S7. No doubt. I didn't put a db meter on it, but it's too damn close to call it any quieter in the slightest. It's not a bad investment for my situation at this point. I'd as soon have Avalon gear on the shelf, though...as long as the galaxy isn't swallowed by a supermassive black hole at the halving, I'll make enough to upgrade. EDIT: The B12 unit runs around 4.4K on both fans. I now know the B16 runs at 5.8-6K. That explains a lot. so it's confirmed.... B16 has a single even louder fan. Is it the front (sucking) or back (blowing) one? It's in the front

Is it an early batch 54-chip machine, or a later batch 45-chip machine? Because about 30 seconds of searching will find you a thread for a fix which might work for 45-chip boards and actually makes them better than original.
It's a later 45 chip, I'll do some searching. Thank you

Thanks for the response. I hooked up another power supply from a running s7.
If you're out of warranty I would say try swapping the controller board from the working unit on to the dead unit.
I am out of warranty, I'll give that a shot. Thanks

My S7 have a problem: 2 hash board are bad, their red lights do not light. IN the Miner Status say: ASIC#: 30 and ASIC status: -------- -------- -------- ------ The guarantee expired. It is possible to repair it ?
Thank you
I've got one also with a bad hash board, curious if they are available. It's been a great day earlier one of my s7's basically bricked.

Congrats on finding your first block. Of course, since you found it, you didn't have to give away the block finder's bonus coin or miners. At least now you'll have enough coin in your wallet to actually pay somebody the bonus and purchase the miners.
By the way... you haven't actually paid anybody yet since the block hasn't matured.
you can see now the block is confirmed Glad to hear their block matured. Now will anyone jump and take a chance on this pool?

I had a s7 die on me today. No lights, fans etc. Checked the power supply and that's not the problem. Any suggestions?
So you have tested psu to make sure it is putting out proper power? What did you do to check PSU and rule it out? But to die off totally is rare more often its a blade or something. For no lights and fan's or anything I would give psu another look over. Thanks for the response. I hooked up another power supply from a running s7.

Well, at least I don't have to worry around rentals...I own my stuff... Anyway, I said I'd report briefly on the Batch 16 S7s I bought from Bitmain. The first one came in yesterday morning, and has been hashing for about 24 hrs now (the other will be here Monday). Frankly, I don't see any difference at all between this and the Batch 12 I've got on the shelf above it. It's basically the same unit without the rear fan (but a nice grate, of course). I of course expected it to run hotter. It's actually running 5C cooler than the Batch 12 on all three boards. Hmm. I haven't opened the case to see if the heatsinks are any different. However, you'd think that with one less fan the thing would be at least slightly quieter...but no, it certainly isn't. Still sounds like a Huey at idle...and with the variety of blinkenlightzen on it, my datacentre/living room seems to, at night in the dark, have an emergency vehicle parked outside the window and flashing red/blue/green/amber all over the place. All that aside, it's been hashing over spec without any messing with the settings. When I'm a bit richer and hopefully not famous in the slightest, I'll pick up the next Avalon iteration to upgrade everything. Makes me feel more comfortable buying a couple. I currently have 70th of my own hardware are rent a bit more th from time to time. Definitely want to get away from renting sooner than later.

With this block I am in for 0.777 and gained an extra 0.868 back with the 6th time the shifts have paid. It's a small gain so far...112%
Congrats, a gain is a gain. Keep up the good work.

Sorry if this has been answered, but I can't seem to find it. Is there a thread or site that shows what everything on the status screen means for my s7 miners? Thanks

Interesting news boys. Ran a mock test on my solar panel i made.
These cells are claimed to run around 0.6v per cell at roughly 6 amps totaling around 3.6 watts each.
I made a 4x9 array totaling 36 cells all wired in series to match a 18v minimum inverter.
Some measurements i took today...
@9AM with zero cloud cover i recorded : 22v @ 6.5 amps!!!! That's 143 watts total and 3.97~ watts per cell!
@11:30AM with zero cloud cover i recorded : 22.2v @ 7.77 amps!!! That's 172.5 watts total and 4.79 watts per cell!!!
That's insanely good!
I should mention the other amazing side of these cells is; they are rough 165 micron thick or .006" thick, Semi-flexible to around 30 degrees bend, are relatively space saving in area compared to conventional pv cells, and weigh virtually nothing.
This panel is only 45" x 20"
Once i finish my solar tracker i should be able to get some real-time data that maximizes its output.
Sounds like you have some really interesting stuff going on. I'm very excited to see your final results. Saving on power could be a life saver for a lot of people.

I wonder if he reveals himself, would that affect bitcoin value? I believe it will and badly. because most people believes that satoshi owns a very large amount of bitcoin. imagine what satoshi can do with that many bitcoins. all the more reason why he should stay anonymous if he's still alive and still want bitcoin to prosper. If Satoshi is smart enough to remain anonymous, create bitcoin etc. I would doubt having a large amount of bitcoin would have any negative impact.

People see my miners and ask about it. For most, it goes right over their heads. Unfortunately they flat out, just don't get it. But I remember when people couldn't understand the Internet.

I'm willing to bet cash is used for 99.9% of all illegal activity. Bitcoin is a drop in the bucket compared to cash.

Bitcoin definitely has a black eye thanks to a few. But I guarantee cash pays for 99.9% of illegal activity in this world.
