62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FED action against bitcoin & crypto on: May 07, 2024, 12:53:06 PM
It's weird that FUD spreaders aren't celebrating with all these negative news, I guess there's not a lot of people out there that's taking them seriously nowadays that it's not worth their time to be a hater of bitcoin anymore. It's such a surprising thing too that they're actively moving against crypto again, really crazy that they're suddenly hostile with bitcoin and crypto again, I do hope though that this will only strengthen the community though. The arrest of Roger Ver is one of the biggest one in my opinion, $48m alleged fraud? Wow! Suddenly they're doing all of this now? They really must need Ver's wealth.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralization is a false proposition on: May 07, 2024, 10:33:04 AM
This write-up feels like a copied one from somewhere.
Use ChatGPT or any AI to check it out, copy paste the text and then give the AI a prompt to check for similar articles or anything crypto related that might be talking about this specific topic, that AI might be able to scour the web for similar articles. There's also another thing, you can directly ask an AI of your choosing whether they've written this wall of text, they'll be able to remember if they did write those paragraphs.

Regarding your post OP, make it concise and worth reading so people that would check out your post wouldn't just make things out of assumption, no one here likes to read walls of texts.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 07, 2024, 07:06:12 AM
If you can do it, don't use any of that to gamble, most cases that you can do this is if you've got a side hustle where you can easily supplement your gambling habits since you've got an extra income. If you're not that person that I'm talking about, you probably shouldn't portion your salary to satisfy your gambling needs, most of the time, you're going to end up with nothing and that money that you will allocate will definitely be not enough for the gambling session. If you're the kind of person that's got a salary that's on the 5 or 6 digit territory already, you're probably good with a 10% of that being used for gambling if you really can't help it.

66  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I have witnessed it's real to earn daily with futures trading on: May 06, 2024, 06:17:14 PM
As much as we love to believe that story, it's too good to be true at the same time which means that it's going to be really hard to prove to do that, unless of course they do some sort of livestream to broadcast and prove everyone that it's really profitable to do futures trading for daily income. They don't need to do some really good set up, just being able to do the bare minimum of letting the people see it and just do their normal operation with futures, the livestream is a good proof too unlike with just a simple screenshot that can easily be doctored by someone with the knowledge to do it in Photoshop.

Fifteen years is a long time but we're all skeptics here, unless you show us the proof that we're looking for, then you might be lucky that we would believe you.
67  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Hong Kong Bitcoin ETF Responsible for Recent Bear on: May 06, 2024, 04:12:27 PM
Only thing I can say about this is that it's really weird that this is what's happening when ETF approval is supposed to be a good thing for the bitcoin market so I don't know if it's because of the Hongkong ETF that's lead to this, it's not a negative factor for the market right? So how come it's the cause of the decline in prices? @TravelMug might be right, this is a whale move to make sure that they're making the most money as much as possible, I just hope that retail investors don't end up having to get taken away by the waves created by these whales.

It seems to be the pattern because, during the start of US Bitcoin ETF trading, the prices are also taking a dive. HongKong ETF trading day also triggers the same effect. If another ETF is approved too soon with the same effect, all I can say is that its the pattern that is being planned which is most probably played by the traditional institutions trying to allow institutional traders to buy at discount prices.
I see, that's probably why bitcoin's at 65k again, I guess I'm wrong to speculate that whales are making moves to manipulate the market. I don't get the logic of allowing institutional traders getting discount price when buying bitcoin though, if you sell at them at a lower price, wouldn't it be weird because you're not getting any kind of profit out of it? Or there's something more to it that I'm too oblivious about the corporate stuff that I don't know about. Maybe when another ETF happens and the same thing happens, maybe it's time that we wish for another because that's going to be an indicator of a potential quick profit for us.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Governs' oppression of bitcoiners may turn against them on: May 06, 2024, 03:06:43 PM
It's now become a lot easier to use dexes to transfer funds and cash them out; it might just be me that thinks this but dexes seem cheaper now than centralised exchanges? I paid 80 cents yesterday to convert 1000 usdc to btc and immediately gained custody of those btc.
You're not alone thinking about this one, the only reason that I'm keeping on using CEXes now is because of the P2P feature that they give out and most of the DEX that I know of don't have that perfected yet but the moment that it happens, I'm going to jump at the first train metaphorically. It's too costly to move your bitcoin to these platforms too because they've got a fixed rate, sometimes you can't avoid paying the fees that they've set not to mention that they're more risky to use in terms of storage because you know that it's not your keys and not your coins anymore.

The oppression will only end once the people in government organization starts pruning and all the geriatric motherfuckers that have been only serving their own interests starts dying like flies, we would probably see some changes in the level of how stupid the government can be when it comes to technology especially with bitcoin. I guess, they just don't like the idea that they're not in control that they're doing their best to oppress and ostracize those people that uses bitcoin.

Oh well, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US senators warn on Iran Bitcoin mining industry on: May 06, 2024, 02:14:47 PM
Fuck Warren, Warren always been an enemy for Bitcoin (Elizabeth Warren, Warren Buffet).
I'm sure that everyone in the White House is pretty much against bitcoin, most of the influential staff there are geriatric so what can you do with those old people deciding how to live our lives? They want to consolidate even more power that's why I know that they're going to be hating on bitcoin no matter what, they're too stupid with technology that they can't find the compromise for coexistence. Regarding her backers, I'm sure that they're from the banking industry and it wouldn't be a surprise if some crypto mining companies are also backing this woman through lobbying, that's the only way that someone can be so sharp and courageous to speak up against something that's essentially just a tool.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question to hodlers:How will you spend the money? on: May 05, 2024, 11:05:25 AM
As any normal person would, spending it on stuff that matters, down payment for a car, for a house or even as a capital for business, it's not really a matter of how you do it, just don't be too wasteful of your profits and spend it first on things that matter. I've seen what bitcoin profits can do if you don't know how to spend it wisely, you will always end up spiraling into misery after you've spent all of it on the wrong things, that's why I've planned already how I would do it. Maybe I'd use the money that I'd get for hodling for retirement, it's not like I'm not working that I'm depending on my bitcoin to grow, I can wait for it.

74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you successfully influenced someone to invest in bitcoin ? on: May 05, 2024, 03:59:27 AM
I keep the bitcoin investing to myself so I can't say for sure that I've convinced or successfully converted someone to invest into bitcoin, I'd love the idea that I'll convince someone to invest in bitcoin though but the only caveat is that they're the ones that will come to me and not the other way around, I don't want to force them to learn something that they only have a vague interest in and we've talked to pass the time, I don't like to be blamed for something because I've forced them into it, that's not really my style.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could China (or similar) take control of Bitcoin? on: May 05, 2024, 03:24:47 AM
They can't do that even if they go full dictator mode on people that are still using bitcoin in their country, they're also going to hijack a lot of networks to be able to do anything significant and it just so happens that most of them is spread throughout the world and there's no way that China would be able to conquer the world, they're a boy in a man's world when placed together with Russia and USA, they can't even make a decisive move and win against Taiwan. China is also falling apart economically and I don't think that they're going to see any point trying to control bitcoin because they're currently lacking the money and they're currently squeezing too much money from their citizens because their officials are risking having their lavish lifestyle being lost.

77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why you shouldn't force someone to invest in bitcoin. on: May 05, 2024, 02:15:17 AM
Simply telling people about the benefits of bitcoin and encouraging them to invest can have its repercussions especially when dealing with friends and family. These category of people do not care to know about the risks involved in bitcoin trading and the volatility of bitcoin as an asset. Their only concern is making profits and if that doesn’t happen then they will drag you for a refund of their money. This is something you have to deal with when introducing family and friends to Bitcoin.
Total agreement with this one but encouraging is the worst offender in my opinion, someone can just stop at telling the benefits of investing in bitcoin and they'd never see those repercussions that you're talking but some people are too enthusiastic and you're right, these people don't care about the risk and the volatility of the bitcoin market because they've been in bitcoin for long that they already knew that when the price starts to go down, it's not something that will bother them because they know that the price will eventually go back up and more, but the people that they're encouraging to invest doesn't know that and they end up getting caught off guard.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to get your Dad (or Mom) to buy Bitcoin? on: May 04, 2024, 04:42:28 PM
thick walls but the point is I understand, and in my opinion there is no need to invite or force them to buy Bitcoin because what parents need to do is prepare pension security so they can pay for health insurance in hospitals and allowances so they can go on holiday to enjoy their old age. Investing is a risky thing, especially in Bitcoin so I don't recommend them putting money into it. With Bitcoin's volatility, my parents might be stressed looking at it, so the priority is preparation to enjoy old age with retirement funds.
You're not forcing them, you're convincing them to invest. Kind of like giving a pitch to get funding for your business like the show Shark Tank and Dragon's Den, that's what basically OP is trying to do in this scenario, preparing us for the scenarios by giving away the answer to the potential questions that your parents might ask, the only problem that I see in this cheat sheet is that they're all too technical to be fitted to the understanding of your parents, some of us if not all have parents that didn't grew up with a computer so they might get lost in the technical and computer jargons, and with the words that you're using for answers, it's probably a long-winded pitch which will only result with only one question being answered because they're going to ask for some of those terms that you've used, make the answers to those questions much more concise and you'd have a chance of success in your potential pitch to them.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accumulating Bitcoin or trading Bitcoin which is more wise to do. on: May 04, 2024, 04:09:31 PM
Depending on your tolerance to risk, if you're the kind of person that easily panics, you're probably better off just accumulating and hodling that bitcoin for a guaranteed profit for the long-term, if you're not the kind of person that doesn't easily panic then you're probably going to need to check out trading because it seems to be a really good thing for you to do, just learn that you only should invest or trade what you can afford to lose, don't make the beginner mistake of having to get emotional when losses or wins come your way, probably for the best that you do some research if you really want to trade, learn the ways and the different types of analysis of the different market movements.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Edward Snowden Final Warning for Bitcoin on: May 04, 2024, 03:22:11 PM
Of course we should invest with Bitcoin privacy because many times it is better to invest by watching. Many times we discuss about Bitcoin privacy in public. If Bitcoin is not accepted in our country, then it is never right for us to discuss it in front, so if we consider it from that point of view, if we can invest while maintaining the privacy of Bitcoin, it is very positive from our side. Bitcoin is a digital currency so we must invest patiently while maintaining enough privacy in that investment, we will get success through investment.
Again, the problem is as stated by @dkbit98, improved privacy means more transaction size and longer verification time so it's not viable to just put it in at a protocol level just because it's a good idea to do. There's Lightning Network which can improve your bitcoin privacy but that's not a good long-term solution. As much as I agree with you that privacy improvement is a top priority for bitcoin, it's not easy especially with such conflicting ideas from other developers, don't lose out of hope though because I'm sure that they'll find a way to do it but I hope that they do it soon.
