61  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL shipped their first single on: June 13, 2013, 09:30:55 PM
So has anyone gotten an email to send their FPGA in for trade in yet?
62  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Looks like Luke-Jr got a long board Single on: June 12, 2013, 05:45:41 PM
So he went from 26 to 70. Thats 44 LOL. Best 50GH unit ever.

More than likely it is not running 100% of the time since he is probably doing testing on it.

I use 7/16" ID Masterkleer tubing on 1/2" barbs and don't need any type of clamps or fittings at all. You need to soak the end of the tube in boiling water, then fit it on. It will not come off after that. If you need to take it off, you have to cut it.

After messing around with fancy fittings, clamps etc, I found this to be best. Just get a ton of the cheap stuff and use all new anytime you have to change something out.
64  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How are you getting USD out of BTC now? on: June 05, 2013, 04:40:49 PM

try

BTC-E

but all fees total to 9%

I have an account on there, but it doesn't really describe how you can withdraw USD. Is it just bank wire? The FAQ is worthless in this respect.

I used to just use Mt.Gox -> Dwolla when I needed some cash. What are you all using now?
67  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL ASIC STATUS 5/29 on: May 30, 2013, 05:33:17 PM
76C with the case completely open seems rather high. Although I have no idea what type of heat is normal for them.
68  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL 6 May 2013 ASIC Update on: May 10, 2013, 03:51:02 PM
No sir.. you are misreading my post.  You even quoted it.  I have a Sept order, and I am keeping my order.  The point of the statement was to say, that people who preordered took a gamble... or a risk.  It is still a calculated risk, just like any other gamble, but it IS a risk.  People don't need to see 1 person saying something a dozen times.   That doesn't help anyone.  In fact, when 1 person says something 12 times, it dilutes the effectiveness and makes them look like a whiney troll.  If 12 people say it one time, it seems more legit and carries weight.  People considering a preorder need to see it, but they SHOULD be doing their homework when making such a purchase.  If they do even 30 minutes of looking up BFL in this forum they will easily find the info they are looking for even without certain people repeating themselves over and over and over.  More specifically the people who act like a pompous jerk about it. Hell, one of the titles in the forum is "BFL fucks us over again." Anyone who does not do their due diligence before spending this type of money on a preorder is either an idiot, or that damn rich that they don't care about the money.

As far as me.. I still certainly have hope.  People call me and others like me an idiot, but I did my homework.  I knew when I put in my order that BFL would NEVER ship on time (October).  I certainly didn't foresee them taking a whole year but what can you do?  In fact, I feel there is a VERY good possibility we will still see our orders on our doorsteps.  Now I'd say I'm 50/50 on whether or not that will be in the next month or two.  But like I said... that is the gamble.  Put all your chips in one company and not the other is always a risk.  If I would have had the cash, I would have invested in BFL and Avalon batch#1.

And no.. people with twelve posts aren't newbies.  They just post less.  Been reading this forum daily since I got into bitcoining which was about this time last year.

I agree with this 100%

50 watts, 80C.
Minteresting. I wonder how many chips are under that heat sink.

Yeah, 80C with the fan at "hair-dryer" levels worries me. If this 5 GH/sec box is hair dryer loud, I am not going to be very thrilled with the noise of the 60 GH/sec and 30 GH/sec boxes I ordered for my one bedroom condo. Sad

Yeah, you're a lawyer that uses "u" and "r" in the place of words and your grammar is atrocious.  Sure, we believe you... no really.

I think he is full of it as well, but I know plenty of lawyers who type that way. It is unreal.
73  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: No FCC or UL label on BFL's Jalapeņo on: May 02, 2013, 10:03:58 PM
Dude read the thread its  all been covered. Unintended emitter of rf is what  the fcc would classify this device as.

Funny how my FPGA doesn't have anything like that on it. Why is it any different? That is the part not being answered.
74  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: No FCC or UL label on BFL's Jalapeņo on: May 02, 2013, 09:57:50 PM
if it's optical it needs FCC cert re:emissions

Fair enough, however I just pulled out an old Dell roller mouse and it has it as well.
75  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: No FCC or UL label on BFL's Jalapeņo on: May 02, 2013, 08:46:42 PM
I'm still laughing over the whole topic...

neither FCC nor UL certification is required... these things aren't broadcast devices. That being said, since it's not ethernet connected it's just fine to ship these items. The only part that needs the cert is the power brick.

UL no doubt has nothing to do with this. The power supply has it, end of story.

Now FCC is not that simple. My mouse is not Ethernet connected, it is not a broadcast device. Yet it has FCC logos on it.

EDIT: No, it is not wireless by the way.
76  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Wafer Broke? on: May 02, 2013, 08:44:30 PM
OK, maybe my memory is not serving me well...

Didn't they basically "waste" a whole wafer testing when the testing rig didn't work? Then they had another wafer, which is probably where the ones made so far came from.

Pretty sure that is all they had?
77  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Just received official email from BFL, my Jale's are on the way... on: May 02, 2013, 01:05:25 PM
Changed password, made it more random and longer, thanks for noticing everyone.

They changed it to the minirig shipping date. Nobody will ever figure it out.

...sorry, had to do it  Grin
78  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs just sent me an update e-mail! on: May 02, 2013, 03:34:51 AM
Sure looks like a box of fans to me.

So, uh, are those both intakes on the sides, and the exhaust is on the top, like with the FPGA Singles?  They need to move the top fan shroud up so it's even with the edges of the larger fan shrouds.

My guess is the two side fans will be push/pull and the tops blow straight down.
79  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Just received official email from BFL, my Jale's are on the way... on: May 01, 2013, 11:29:47 PM

Fer chrissakes, the incompetency... Huh

I'm just hoping that password is only for that account, and only allowed to log in locally.

EDIT: They just said in the shoutbox it has been changed already.
80  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Received BFL Jalapeņo Today! on: April 29, 2013, 09:31:29 PM
Why so many HW errors?

Good question. That doesn't seem right.
