When I check the SHA256 hash of the releases I download from github, I'm worried that both the download link and the published hash could have been compromised and I'd never know... until my coins are gone that is! Are/should the hashes be published in the Monero blockchain, since it's immutable? Maybe I'm being overly paranoid

boolbd --seed-node 5.9.44.154:10101
Perfect! Thanks dude. I hadn't seen the "--seed-node" option when I used "boolbd --help" I had built boolbd from the RUNE edition source. Could I have edited a file in the source before building the daemon in order to add(/hard code) this node?

Could someone tell me what command I used to add seed nodes please? I've just built boolbd on Ubuntu 16.04 from the Rune github repository, but it won't sync. I have a list of working nodes from an old boolberry client that still syncs, but I don't know how to configure those seeds in the newly built boolbd. 2016-Dec-28 12:17:50.454445 [P2P0]Connecting to 1.24.247.119:10101(white=1, last_seen: d501.h14.m7.s36)... 2016-Dec-28 12:17:50.454663 [P2P1]Tx <95f59a7fb0395095ecc1ccd937d50281c9cc27211c605a48f17536a9540d032d> removed from tx pool due to outdated, age: 1188145 2016-Dec-28 12:17:55.455421 [P2P0]Connect failed to 1.24.247.119:10101 2016-Dec-28 12:29:36.791425 Peerlist white: d8205b596235f1ba 1.24.247.119:10101 last_seen: d501.h14.m19.s22

Gonna see if I can merge changes from ducknote to implement merge mining, that would require a hardfork though...I think the only exchange is cryptopia correct?
We could look into doing some work on this coin if dev doesnt want to continue? Please do!

hi bittrex aeon . Wallet Maintenance ?! fork? I see no evidence of a fork. Daemon syncs as expected. Bittrex could just be performing server maintenance.
|
|
|
No it is broken to all hell. Nothing works best to stay away.
It looks like you are trolling. The dev offered assistance and you appear to have ignored it. Hopefully that would be enough to keep blocks coming...
The chain is working. I can sync quickly and send funds from one wallet to another.

Tor is compromised by NSA, so everyone who's trying to hide their financial activity with monero are automatically on their list. Congratulations ladies n gentlemen! (Bitcoin users are not affected) Yeeeaaahhhh you shiner, and if you use Windows your bitcoins are still safe from the NSA Its not about safety, if you want your coins to be safe, just use offline wallet, with paper backups. Its about crime, accountability and punishment. I don't think people looking for Monero coins are planning to buy cookies with it People donate to this project because they believe privacy is important, and this importance will develop growth and therefore profit. It sounds like you've chosen to believe the main stream media rhetoric... and they said the same about bitcoin. In reality the majority of criminal activity uses US dollars. bitcoin and Monero are barely a blip on the radar. The internet was not designed with privacy in mind, and there are some who have literally given up their lives to educate us on the importance of getting this privacy back. Obvious examples are Glenn Greenwald and Edward Snowden. In the same way, bitcoin was not designed with privacy in mind. It's was great idea, but Monero adds the privacy that some of us feel is important.

Is it the code that is particularly unique compared to other cryptonote coins , now, or the infrastructure around it?
Uniqueness among cryptonotes? Already implemented, from the top of my head: - lmdb, which makes the daemon have a low RAM requirement and allows a ...
- stunningly fast sync (when the hardware can keep up)
- ringCT, ringCT, ringCT
- real world viewkey utility - there is a way to check is your cold storage's monero are still there
- built in bandwith management (this is not an issue until it is)
- json based checkpointing (thanks BcX )
- You can store it on trezor
In the oven - Fluffyblocks
- 0MQ - As a nice and robust base for future infrastructure
- I2P integration (and a brand new I2p router side project named Kovri)
- Multisig, multisig
I am sure there is more stuff, but this is what I remember. EDIT: Forgot a very important thing: 24.1 Mh/s meh. MEH?? Either you don't understand what you quoted or your trolling. it was a drunken attempt at sarcasm. I love what devs are doing here

Nothing is working. Not the wallet not deposits. Everything is stuck. The OP does not tell us exactly what is going on me talks of other things who knows what he is on about.
I use the CLI only, so I can't test the deposit feature, but I can send and receive coins OK. This suggests the network is fine. If you provide more detailed information maybe someone can help.

When is the swap likely to commence? Did I miss it in the OP

Need about 300kh to break the chain and start finding blocks after a member tried to kill the project with lots of hashrate. Tried with 50kh but could'nt find a block so gonna try and buy some more hashrate to 300kh and try again.
There's been a solid 43kH/s mining this and no block found for 15 days... Do you think 300kH/s is even enough?
|
|
|
im getting the same error That's not an error. The last block was found 10 days ago I think the coin has maybe forked. We need a dev to check out what is happening. This pool says no blocks found for 10 days too http://185.106.122.31/bitcedi/#

Verge blockchain snapshot has been updated on CryptoChainer.com, and will get you Verge wallet in sync instantly. Just tried to use this. The zip file appears to be corrupt. It doesn't decompress. Can another be uploaded please?

CryptoNote coins are hot property right now. It would be a good time to get try to get listed on Polo, Bittrex or other exchanges.

thanks for the regular updates jyap. they are appreciated.

BTC-e is the only exchange who lists Xcoin/Darkcoin/DASH as DSH.... they confused things for people, just because they don't want a 4 letter ticket...
|
|
|
Dash is not Cryptonote (it has another method of anonimization).
Actually Dash (DSH) is CryptoNote. It is DASH (DASH) that is not Very confusing. Same coin has same price on 4 different exchanges, but with these names: - BTC-E: DSH
- HitBTC: DASH
- bleutrade: DASH
- bittrex: DASH
If looking on coinmarketcap, it's name is "DASH". If you search for "dsh", it finds "DASH". https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dash/BoscoMurray, where do you have your information from? Is there another "DSH"? DASH/DSH is X11-based, so it's not cryptonote. https://www.dash.org/x11/Sorry, I should have said DSH is Dashcoin (CryptoNote): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1020627.0The x11 coin you talk about is Xcoin -> Darkcoin -> DASH. So two different coins.

Good question. Does somebody nows the reason for this? Piggyback on the XMR hype/pump (both XMR and XDN use CryptoNote)
