Holy cow was that two weeks already?  Sorry I am a half a day late with this. Does Jookly falls into a time warp count as update worthy news?  Time for the update!

Continued Swap Discussion

There has been some discussion about the swap here in this thread and in the chat room.  The main concerns being expressed are around the Cryptopia listing and the implications the swap has on it. You are welcome to join the discussion here or in our chatrooms.

Slow And Steady

There is not a whole lot else to report this time. We are still here and I really strongly encourage everyone to swing by the chat rooms, get involved, and discover Moin.

We don't have an exact time frame yet as there are quite a few things to consider.   I am fairly certain it will not be completed by the end of the year however because we need to give people plenty of time to swap, on the order of months.  That doesn't necessarily mean the swap wont begin by the end of the year... but that is not official either. 


I can assure you it will be a very fair and well announced swap once we have concrete details.  We have the experience of going through one previous swap when we came to MOIN 2.0 which is nice, feel free to look back at how that was well recorded and given plenty of time.  It can actually start to feel a bit drawn out near the end of a successful swap but it seems worth it to make sure anyone and everyone that wants to swap their MOIN will get a chance.

Will be certain to keep everyone here informed.  Also never be shy to stop by the chat for quick questions.

Researching Swap Options

The team has been researching and discussing our options regarding the swap.  We are looking at other projects and the ways they performed their swaps for ideas. There are lots of projects to look at for reference so we will try to find the best ideas for Moin.

Subreddit Open For Buisness

We opened up the subreddit @ www.reddit.com/r/moin to the public so be sure that you swing by and say hi.  We have our tipbot going and would love to get some good community interactions built up in there.  Come join us!

Developing Moin Movement League Specifics

We have been doing some brainstorming and planning to put together some details of the upcoming Moin Movement League.  We are developing a fun achievement system that will help provide people with direction and reward them for promoting Moin. Details to come!

Nice work on 2 years everyone!

Yobit doesnt maintain its coins and forgot about its MOIN wallet a long time ago.  We have warnings to not trade on yobit all over this thread for years as well.  So do many other coins.  I am sorry if you bought MOIN on yobit but it is not the same coin.

The good news is if you are interested in MOIN you can get the real one on several other exchanges and get involved right here or in our chatrooms.

No I'm sorry it is too late.  The swap ended in May of 2016

Fortnightly Sunday Update #15

Has it been two weeks already?  Let's take a look at what has been going on behind the scenes with MOIN.

Reddit Tipbot Stabalized

We had a kind of funny incident where the day we started testing a seemingly final version of the bot reddit changed their api output!  The bot we are working with uses a library that was incompatible with the new reddit api responses.  What was really amazing was that within 10 hours of the problem the beautiful open source community provided a fix! So long story short the reddit tipbot for our upcoming subreddit seems to be functioning well now. 


King Caper Works On PART Fork

King Caper announced this week that the task diverting him at the moment away from development of the platform is working on how to correctly fork the PART code base.  MOIN will eventually swap over to this codebase which will provide a plethora of benefits for future development.  The specifics of the swap are still to be determined.


Birthday Subbreddit Launchtacullar?

November 4th marks the anniversary of this thread OP and as such is in a way the 2nd birthday of MOIN 2.0.  Although we can't make a super special pinky promise we are hoping to be able to coincide this date with the launch of the new subreddit and the opening of signups for the Moin Movement League.  It will be really nice to open up MOIN discussions on reddit and interact with the larger crypto currency community there.

Hi gawajn. There is one main developer for this project who is KingCaper and three other people listed as officially on the team.   It really is a community effort however and in the last few months as more people have gotten involved there are a few other folks that have been taking on tasks and helping come up with more ideas. We have also been talking about outsourcing some development, but we need to work out any specifics of that.

Moin 2.0 on the website refers to the version of MOIN we are on now.  The one that is forked from SHADOW.  MOIN swapped to this version from a PoW/PoS chain that wasn't working well and had been abandoned by it's original developers.

Feel free to swing by the chat to say hi or if you have any questions.

We are looking for help in defining some tasks that would be fun or interesting for people to accomplish as part of the promotion program.

We could use peoples help with right now is coming up with ideas for specific actions that people can take to receive hero points.  In fact giving an idea for how people will receive hero points will get you 10 hero points.

Here are some ideas to get your gears turning:

10 HERO POINTS - Come up with new ways to earn Hero Points
5 HERO POINTS - Retweets relevant to Moin made within the last 7 days (not price reports).
10 HERO POINTS - Original tweets relevant to Moin made within the last 7 days
15 HERO POINTS - Creating a Moin graphic or meme​

Hi examplens, hero points are an idea we are working on to reward people in a friendly competition of promoting moin on a weekly basis.  The idea is to have tasks available for people to complete and each task gains them points.  The top point holders get MOIN from the foundation on a weekly basis.  Right now we are just putting together the rules together and looking for input on some things people could do to receive the points.

Fortnightly Sunday Update #14

Hello out there Moin cryptommunity.  I figured since this is my first time giving and being responsible for the fortnightly update I would start it off by just saying so. So what happened in the last two weeks with Moin?

Preparing Reddit

The team has been working on getting the r/MOIN subreddit prepared for its grand opening.  Axllht has been beautifying it to match the new websites style.  I have been getting a tipbot ready for the subreddit.  Everyone has been pitching in to test the bot.  It will be great to open this subreddit to the public when it is ready.  I am really looking forward to it!


What Is KingCaper Doing?

Whats the big guy up stairs doing?  This week he has needed to take time to work on a non-roadmapped task that will bring a host of benefits to Moin as we continue in to development of THE PLATFORM.  I will leave it at that and up to him for revealing details on this when the time is right.


Moin Community Contributors League

We had a really constructive discussion through the unified Moin chats about the need for more marketing and community engagement.  One actionable item we landed on is the resurgence of something older moiniacs might remember from when we were mostly on irc.  The idea is the Moin Community Contributors League.  The basic idea is to have weekly competition and rewards for promoting Moin.  We will reveal more details on this soon.

Bounty Program

The second item that came out of our discussion was that we can offer bounties for specific projects, then have people sign up for and accomplish those projects.  We will begin facilitating this process soon.  A couple examples of the types of bounties we are talking about here might be having an article written about Moin or getting a really nice t-shirt design made.  We still have coins that were donated and should go specifically to a T-shirt designer.  We will figure out how to make this happen.

Heyo yeah looking sliiiick.  Excellent update KingCaper.   Website is looking good, I'm stoked I got to flex my new js skills to help too.

As KingCaper mentioned I am going to try and take on the weekly communications going forward so he doesn't need to have one extra thing on his plate while he focuses on developing The Platform.

The PoE system doesn't perform the same function as PoS and so it does not produce any additional reward itself.  What PoE does is allow a person to register the existence of a file, and thereby have a verifiable time stamped record of its registration retrievable through the blockchain.  Hope that helps you to understand.  Thanks for the question and great to hear the staking is working well for you.

The stake rate is 10% a year.

I am not exactly sure where the cut off would be between receiving a stake daily versus less often than that, maybe someone else will know and chime in.
