10000 is just initial value. High enough to prevent accidental  withdrawals.
You can change at any time.

To be honest I didn't test that miner yet.
I checked out their web page. Miner supports stratum and workers defined on the pool so I bet it will work with our pool.

Yes it is quite normal. We have pretty high share difficulty.
