coinotron is down?

Maintenance at data center in progress Sad

I'm sorry but we must wait a little bit longer.

FYI

Today we started Vertcoin pool. Pool works in RBPPS mode. Pool already solved first VTC block. Smiley

You guys are great! Any chance of introducing pure PPS mode for VTC?

Thanks Smiley
Rather slim. PPS is just too risky considering maturity and size of VTC network.

Notice.

Please don't mine in VTC pool using standard cgminer. All shares will be rejected because vertcoin uses ScryptN instead of regular Scrypt.
Please use vertminer: https://vertcoin.org/downloads/vertminer-0.5.2.zip
or CUDAminer modified for Vertcoin support: https://vertcoin.org/downloads/CudaminerWin64.zip

This topic will be helpful when you want to tweak your miner: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=416572

FYI

Today I opened new VTC pool at Coinotron.com

We already solved first block.

Were you hacked? Someone got access to my account and transfered 0.3 LTC to LS12fGBGyDoB4FqNABVawUymXWuVBhc4rF. They also created addresses for DOGE, PPC and FTC which I was not mining. I'm pretty sure they had no access to my PC.

You should email OP(coinotron) directly with something like this!!

Exactly. I'm in contact with qbits. I sent him details from server logs. I don't want to go into details but logs suggest that someone just knew his password, logged in and changed his payout addresses. I think this action was performed by malicious software/key logger on user computer/network.

In order to protect their accounts all miners should enable Google Authenticator.

What happens if I lost secret key? I'm a noob when it comes to mining. Is there way to delete current payout address without having another account?

Also, I see mining FTC and DOGE, do I need to put my wallet address for those coins? Thank you in advance for whomever can help me.

When you lost secret key, please send a email request ( using email address you registered with ) to coinotron@gmail.com
You need to set payout address for each coin that you are mining. System must know where to send your payouts.

You are using PPS mode for LTC mining. All valid shares are counted as confirmed in this mode. There is no waiting for 15 confirmations, thus there is nothing to display in Unconfirmed Rewards column.

Thank You for the reply.
Ok, but few days ago it was showing Unconfirmed Rewards. In fact most of Feb it was showing in that column...

Probably you were using RBPPS worker few days ago.

My LTC mining last few days I don't see anything in the "Estimated current round rewards" or "Unconfirmed rewards" keeps showing nothing but zero's. Yet I am getting something for mining in confirmed rewards.

Why have they been disabled?

I am a little confused here, is there some slight of hand?. or bad programming?

why does the site say that  1017.14 was paid out but the chain and my wallet only received 997.14~?    Huh

Thanks

When you withdraw less than 5000 DOGE, your withdrawal is decreased by 20 DOGE. It is stated in "Reward System" ( column "small payouts reduction" ) on the home page: https://www.coinotron.com/coinotron/AccountServlet?action=home

Main purpose of this is to limit number of micro withdrawals.

431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [Pool] ---- Coinotron ---- Registrations are open on: February 18, 2014, 05:00:41 PM
FYI

Update on DOGE fork.

Yesterday and today Coinotron was all the time on right DOGE fork. Mining and your rewards are unaffected.

DOGE withdrawals are enabled. All pending payouts have been sent. I tested withdrawals to my personal accounts on Vircurex, Bter and Cryptsy. Balances were successfully credited. Also withdraws from all 3 exchanges worked.

If you are withdrawing coins to your personal DOGE wallet, please update it to the newest version before you release withdrawal.

Instructions how to update wallet you can find here:

432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [Pool] ---- Coinotron ---- Registrations are open on: February 10, 2014, 04:48:44 PM
Hello. I noticed a strange thing in DOGE payouts.
See screenshot http://prntscr.com/2qu8zx
Rounds 92849 and 92867 are almost equal in duration but the payouts are very different.
Also 92794 92795 looks strange.
As I understand RBPPS, if the pool's power is nearly constant and difficulty not changing the bigger duration of round leads to bigger payout because the cost of single share is constant (was 1.6 doge per 320-th diff share).
Am I right?

Not exactly. In described situation there is still one thing that changes. It is a block value. Unlike other coins DOGE has variable (random) block value ( anything between 0 and 1,000,000 DOGE ). On average block value is 500,000 but it would be very risky to use that average value because of hoppers. Although block value is random its value for the currently being solved block is known. It is based on hash of previous block. That changes situation a lot. Many miners will mine only on high value blocks skipping all others.
I collected data  from about 300 blocks solved in Coinotron and guess what. Average value of Coinotron's block was 0.91 * 500000. That suggests that block value hoppers might exist!

So formula to calc share value uses actual block value known when block is found instead of constant average 500000 DOGE.

Same situation exists in PPC and FRC pools, though it has less impact because block value changes are quite small.

I am using multiminer and keep getting an error for Terracoins.

What am I supposed to put in the miner?

Here is what I have:
Host: Coinotron.com
Port: 3335 (I just changed from 8332, I believe)
Worker Name: MYWORKERNAME
Password: MYPASSWORD

Thanks

You probably should use stratum+tcp://coinotron.com as host

coinotron, you're a thief.  you had a 0.1 withdrawal minimum on BTC.  I was close to that.  Then, I didn't mine for a month.  I come back, and there's no BTC mining and no BTC balance on my account.  I see a notice you gave for people to withdraw within a week, which I obviously missed, and might never have been able to withdraw with your minimum.

I let it go because it's not a lot.  But, now I see you're trying to get others to use your pool?  Regardless of amount, I can't stand thieves!

Stay away, people.  This guy lacks integrity.

Why didn't you just write to support? coinotron@gmail.com
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [Pool] ---- Coinotron ---- Registrations are open on: January 25, 2014, 07:04:27 PM
The minimum payout is to high for litecoin.
I think a new minimum of about 0.05 is about right.

I'm considering reducing it to 0.1 LTC

Sunny King

Please introduce getblocktemplate RPC in next release of PPC. Smiley
My pool is overloaded by getwork PPC requests. I would like to start PPC stratum pool.
Unfortunately merging GBT code into current version is not so straightforward as in case of LTC. Otherwise I would do it my self Tongue

You might want to have a look at my git forks:
https://github.com/TheSeven/ppcoin
https://github.com/TheSeven/stratum-mining

Intelftw's pool (ppcoin.d7.lt) already uses those, and Vuxil's pool (vpool.me) is being switched over to that backend right now.

Please note that in the configuration file of the pool server, you have to specify a compressed pubkey in hex notation (66 digits, starting with 02) instead of an address due to the nature of how ppcoin works internally.

BTW, I'm also working on writing my own pool server right now. The work generation and share tracking parts are mostly finished, the accounting, reward calculation and frontend parts still need to be done.

I'd appreciate a donation to PMWM8mwVYKDypzmUWCJW45bpKmFkBZtnLi or 12nsad13V93jXDMi2Y5WejRkr7Z3xZ41DG if this solves your problem Smiley

Thanks for links and information.
I will look into it. Nonetheless I would prefer using "official" version of ppcoin client with GBT support.
As I understand there are also changes in python code of stratum-mining?

The ppcoind-side changes are basically a straightforward port of the GBT patches for bitcoind. The only thing that I needed to change in those is adding a call to the block signing function in submitblock.
Sunny, could you comment on how you're planning to handle block signing in the official GBT support update? In my implementation the GBT client just sends a zero-byte signature, and ppcoind then calculates the real one. Letting the GBT client sign it seems like a lot of unnecessary complication on that side. But another option would be to not send the varstr at all. I send it as a zero length varstr, as it seemed easiest, will the official one be compatible with that?

The Stratum server also needs some changes because ppcoin has a slightly different block and transaction format (adding a couple of fields), and only accepts compressed pubkeys in the coinbase txn, not pay to address. My changes basically boil down to those two things, they're the bare minimum required.

Hi TheSeven

I finally introduced stratum suport in Coinotron PPC pool.
I based my code on your git forks. I woud like to donate you some PPC. Can you provide me with your actual PPC address?

Hashrate estimations should be much more accurate now. They are based now on 60 min. period ( 10min. previously )

I've been mining FRC for the past day- my cgminer says everything is fine, but nothing is showing up in my account at all. Huh

Please send me your account name: coinotron@gmail.com
