#NEW RULES AND NEW OPENING

The twitter and facebook bounties are re-continued again but with a few differences.

First of all: The weekly reporting system in the thread is totally removed.

For fb and tw: There must be a gap of at least one hour in between with a maximum of 4 per day and 20 per week.
Check the twitter application section to find out how to post a CORRECT link to your retweet using the forms. Links to tweets by coinmetro are not accepted.

Regarding Facebook: Facebook accounts which are used just for ICO promotion will not be accepted anymore. READ THIS AGAIN.
If it's not a normal personal Facebook account don't share and don't submit the form as you won't get any stakes for them.

People who are late in submitting reports for week 4 can post the following form with all the links : https://goo.gl/forms/tf29pwpw09kwr8xC3

Thank you for your understanding.

CoinMetro is starting its Official Bounty Program in order to reward its supporters with XCM tokens.

62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A weird token in myetherwallet on: December 07, 2017, 06:25:41 AM
Another force airdrop like the PENIS token? or myetherwallets has been compromised?

Lol myetherwallet is an open-source wallet already. They don't need to be compromised because there is no information held on their servers. They give you the private keys to your address. It's just a way to connect to the ether main network.

For the OP, it's probably a forced airdrop coin like a lot of the ones that are spread every now and then. They're usually worth nothing so there's nothing to waste your time on.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many Forks will come in next 5 months? Is forks are good for bitcoin? on: December 07, 2017, 06:19:07 AM
Actually i want to know that how many Forks will come in next 5 months? 3 or 5 or more? Now, Bitcoin price almost 15k usd, if forks happen then will bitcoin dump highly? I mean is forks are bad for bitcoin price?

The first Bitcoin hard fork (well it's technically not the first one but I guess it's the first one you ever heard about) had a lot of attention and a lot of people talking about it. It was even regarded as the reason the price of btc went down just before the fork happened as they feared that btc was going to get dumped or anything similar.

But was happened was the complete opposite. After the fork, btc started going up in price so a lot of people gained back some trust and started buying back in. Simultaneously bitcoin cash was going up as well. It kept gaining value and that's the time everyone took the decision that a fork is actually worth it as it's free money.

Then came bitcoin gold with the exact opposite. People learned from their mistakes and actually instead of selling, they all bought btc just for the fork. And it actually paid off as it kept going up to $400. But right now, they turned into some kind of joke/trend. Remeber the erc-20 token trend ? Kinda the same thing. Announcing so many forks that are mainly money grabs and nothing more hoping that the inclusion of the word "bitcoin" in their names will get them some money. They're no longer useful or worth it and actually the community understands that very well and don't care about them any more.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: A little guidance for a newb coming off NiceHash? Pretty please :P on: December 07, 2017, 06:10:46 AM
After watching NiceHash switch every few mins for weeks it seems like a real waste to pick a coin and mine it for weeks alone. Also, if say you switched yourself every few hours.. it would take forever to get an actual payout on nanopool, for example..

Well that's what you're going to do. Pick a coin. Maybe ethereum (if you have amd ) or zcash (if you have nvidia) or maybe even monero. And you keep mining that coin.

These coins go up in price from time to time. So you need to mine and hold your coins and sell at a much higher price than the current price. You will actually notice that you earn way more.
But before jumping onto a coin make your calculations and see how much the hashrate of your card is on different algos and insert the hashrate in whattomine.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Awesome miner - NiceHash Alternative on: December 07, 2017, 06:05:28 AM
Yeah I'm in the same boat (nicehash refugee) and I'm starting to love awesome miner.  Profit seems to be way up compared to nicehash.  The latter I don't want to use again.

Well profits are up in a lot of coins as nicehash had a lot of hashrate directed towards it and now all of that is scattered in every direction. I seriously didn't like hashrate. Yes, they were kinda good for the miners and they switched to the most profitable coin but that actually ruined it everyone else as it kept messing with the difficulty of the coins.

Moreover, they're were actually ripping off their miners. For a long period of time, the most profitable coins stayed the same and the people mining on NiceHash earned much less because that's what they do. They gave you much less than you potentially could. And that wasn't enough for there greedy asses, they even took fees when you withdraw your earnings.

I hated it and I'm so glad that it's gone. I'm not if it actually got hacked or they just decided to buy a small island in the pacific. But I think they didn't need to do that as they were making so much money already. Guys please don't give so much hash power to a certain company again. Look for the coin you want and mine it yourself then sell it when the price rises. You earn more this way.

Increase the gas price. In etherdelta i increased it to 100.  Its so much cost. What to do.

What are you talking about ? The transaction just went through with 21 as I told him.
It doesn't cost anything really !
You call $0.20 to send $247 a lot of fees ? You must've been living under a rock for the last two months.

67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to mining electroneum on: December 06, 2017, 10:35:52 AM
Well it's not that hard but it just needs you to exert some effort and search for the information yourself rather than asking.

Since there's no gui wallets out yet, so you need to deal with the paper wallet. Head off to the electroneum website and download it. It's actually self explanatory and there's nothing to be said. You get a pdf file that has your address, private view and spend keys. So this file has to be kept really safe. I guess you already know by now how important private keys are in crypto and that they're the main key to all the coins you own.

Then download the claymore miner (if you have amd) or ccminer (if you have nvidia cards) and fire them up. Just choose a pool. There's a lot of pools out there but these are my favourite.

http://www.electroneum.space/
http://us-etn-stats.hashparty.io/

Head over to the getting started page and choose the appropriate ports and starts the mining software.
I usually tell the people to hold their coins and not sell them at once but if you plan to directly mine and sell, you'll need a full node running to be able to do so. I'm currently running one on a linux vps that I bought from vultr.com. Look for videos on YouTube on how to do that.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bit coin hit $12500. Is this the time to invest in Bitcoin? on: December 06, 2017, 10:31:08 AM
I have a $1200. I want to invest in bitcoin  Undecided. Is this the time to invest in Bitcoin or should i wait until BTC down?

It totally depends on what you plan to do with the coins you buy. If you're planning to sell any time soon, it might a good idea to buy but not the best or the wisest thing to do as if it starts falling down you will be totally annoyed and might even sell.

The thing is if you buy right now at the highest price bitcoin has ever been, it's a bit risky and you should be able to embrace the fact that it's more than possible for it to drop my huge amounts in extremely small amount of time. The rate of growth in its price from 7k to almost 13k now is totally crazy and has never happened not only in crypto but in anything that behaves in a similar matter (talking about stocks trading etc.).

So if you buy now, you should plan to never sell before maybe a year. And during this year you'll notice a lot of dumps and pumps and crazy stuff. But if you want to profit, you need to keep cool and let all those numbers aside and just let them where they are. No one can predict what's gonna happen. No one knows if the prices we are witnessing now are figures we won't see again ever or they'll be the base price for the future.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking transaction is far much better than bitcoin so far on: December 06, 2017, 09:20:36 AM
Well I think you have an opinion based on a few experiences that you had and it's kinda not right to call out the whole system for them.

Quote
while in bitcoin its cheap (True in wiring fee ONLY ) and Fast(True)
So I guess the two points that are arguable are already in favor of crypto.

Quote
BUT the do not speak about the tough joinery of how to get Bitcoin in first place
you need of the following
1- 1 year of mining
2- 3 weeks to be verified by exchange plus 5$ -10% more buy 1 bitcoin 12000$ you pay 600$ -1200$ acquisition fee  (which is crazy )

Well first of all, I guess you totally know that you don't HAVE to mine to get some bitcoins. It's only if you're interested.
Second thing. Why are you blaming bitcoins or crypto in general if these rules/regulations are applied by exchanges Huh They're organizations which are trying to make profits as much as possible. You can't say this is a disadvantage by any means as you're not forced at all to buy from them.

Quote
3- local bitcoin  the most expensive option 20% but the fastest (no exchange needed to verification ) but each bitcoin acquisition fee is 2400$

Same thing. You don't have to deal with anyone whose price isn't good as you want them to be. The best thing to buy or sell would be to do the same thing I did. Found a group of people who are into trading and mining (invested in crypto in general) and we made a group on whatsapp. Now we sell and buy from each other locally cash in hand. No fees. Nothing. Everyone happy. Try doing the same thing.

Quote
4- accept bitcoin as a payment for your service (which assume your customers already bitcoin owners)
This is actually a good point. If you sell or offer a service, accepting btc would be an easy way to get your hands on crypto with zero fees.

Quote
we need to fix this two issues
1- the speed of getting the coin
2- the acquisition fee dropped to 1% or less

Nothing can be done to fix these by any of us. And what does an ICO have to do with anything you talked about ?
70  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ethereum Transaction Problem on: December 06, 2017, 08:05:36 AM
Hi,

I try to send some Ether. But I can't. I'm using MEW with Metamask. I select 10 GWEI price, but I'm getting "Transaction Underpriced" error.

And why are you setting it to 10 GWEI ?
Put 21. Almost at all times in MEW, you just need to fill in the address and the amount you're sending (be it ether or tokens) and it fills in the appropriate amount of fees. No need for you to change anything.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: investment websites on: December 05, 2017, 11:41:38 PM
Hello,
Please share your experience in bitcoin base investment websites which they promise you high profits in short time. I will share mine too.
thanks

What are you talking about ? What investment websites ? There's no such thing as btc investment websites.
You totally have the wrong approach towards crypto currencies and don't actually know what its all about.

When we say "invest" in crypto, we mean you buy a certain coin that has potential to grow in the future and waiting till it becomes selling more than the price you bought it for and then selling them. Anything else than that has nothing to do with investments.

I guess you've seen a few times here and there websites and people promising to give you back crazy profits back for your "investments" on their shady websites and you probably believed them as you thought that's the "crypto" thing that everyone is talking about. NO you're totally wrong. These sites are scam and these people are thieves who are trying so hard to get their hands on your money.

Never trust any of these. Read more and more about how to buy crypto and how to sell it for a profit rather than looking for an "easy" way to earn as you won't get anything out of it except losing your capital. Right now you're basically a very easy target for the scammers.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Options for storing cryptos' in physical wallets? on: December 05, 2017, 11:31:50 PM
You just came in at the right time Cheesy I just ordered one a few minutes ago.

It's the ledger nano s. Just google it to know more about it.
Here's a list of the coins supported by it : https://ledger.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005304449-Which-altcoins-and-tokens-are-supported-by-the-Ledger-products-

You can upto about 5 coins to use in the wallet at the same time. It's actually pretty good in regards of security. I've been thinking about getting one for a few weeks now and just decided to give it a shot. I'll mainly store bitcoin and ethereum on it and I can't trust the way I do it now.

Right now, I use electrum and I feel my private keys can be snatched away easily. I guess it's a much better idea to get the coins on a hardware wallet especially if you're planning on HODLING for a long time (like I do).

Since it's a hardware wallet, you can rest assured that no one ever can make a transaction from your addresses except you as you the person needs to know the pin and have access to the ledger itself. I'm waiting till it arrives and I'm really excited about it.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In the case of a large percentage drop on: December 05, 2017, 11:23:18 PM
Since you used to trade on stocks, it is a must to point out a few things. First of all, investing in bitcoins and crypto currencies in general is totally different and has its own conditions and is probably nothing like what you used to do.

In stocks, price changes are nothing compared to what happens in crypto. If a broker starts losing and goes down by a large amount,  it'll probably stay like that or even take years and years till it recovers back up. Here it's totally different. If a coin goes down, that doesn't mean it's the end. If it has some potential and actually has a purpose it will surely get back up. It might take a few days to few months.

I guess you never saw stocks go up and down by 10% , have you ? Well, here it happens. That's why before you jump in and invest your money you need to understand what you're dealing with. Basically let me tell you a simple small advice according to all my previous experiences. NEVER SELL IN CRYPTO ON A LOSS. Whatever happens, don't do it. One mistake that I fell in a few times is buying btc while it's rising and then selling when it starts going down as I'm afraid of losing my money. Only to find that a month later the price is back up and even higher.

And I'm not just talking about the last month which was totally crazy. I'm talking about stuff from 2015 when I had a few bitcoins at $270 for a coin and sold them for about $250 each. Now talk about REGRETS. That's what I learnt. Since that time, whenever it goes down I buy. It's inevitable that it'll rise.

The wisest thing to do I'd say is buy whatever you want and totally forget about them for at least one year. Then check how much they are. I know it's hard but caring less about the price makes you less anxious and drives the idea of selling at a loss away.
74  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Should I get a hardware wallet ? on: December 05, 2017, 09:25:15 PM
Well first of all let's just get out a few facts out of the way. No, it can't be hacked and yes it's safe to put your coins on them as they're actually totally open-source and you can google if you want more technical information on that matter.

I'm actually kind of in the exact situation as you are. I've got a not that much amount of btc and plan on holding onto them for no less than 2 or 3 years if not even more. That's why it actually came to my mind to buy a hardware wallet as that's one of the "safe" options available.

But I haven't bought it yet as it actually looks way more dangerous to me. How ? What if I lose this ledger ? This means my coins are gone Huh I do know that I can keep my 24 words secret code somewhere safe so that I still have access to my coins if it's lost but still this means that I must have something like a paper wallet. So why bother buying one ?

Which actually put me in that neutral zone not knowing if it's a good idea or a bad one. It's for about $65 only so I might actually try one.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So what's stopping china from banning bitcoin mining? on: December 04, 2017, 11:58:59 PM
Why would China ban or shut down mining farms ? This basically means you cannot understand what the Chinese government is concerned about regarding bitcoins and why they closed exchanges and are looking for ways to regulate ICOs.

They're not agaisnt bitcoins or crypto currencies in general just because they hate them or anything similar. What made go nuts is the amount of funds invested by the Chinese people into ICOs. They felt (and it's actually a fact) that the money is getting out of the country and out of the economical system too fast and not even through the way they're supposed to. They're worried about the capital moving out.

I don't think they're against Bitcoin mining at all. As a matter of fact, it brings the govt. a lot of money from all those farms. I even heard that they're making it easier for people to start farms next to hydraulic power stations with low usage (but I heard that was from electricity companies and I don't think these would do anything against the company). So basically they want their money to stay in. But cut off something that gets them tons of money Huh Oh hell no.
76  Economy / Exchanges / Re: I've lost my two factor authentificator for Bittrex... please help! on: December 04, 2017, 11:51:55 PM
Well first of all let me tell you that you did a serious big mistake by removing that app from your phone.
Well accidents happen and of course there are situations when you totally HAVE to reset your phone but that's why a master key file for the 2fa codes exists.

That's the file that you should always take care of very well and keep copies in multiple places. Well, in fact I was the exact situation two weeks ago but with poloniex. But luckily I had the file on my pc. So I reinstalled the app, added the barcodes back into it and I was back in action in a few minutes.

Right now, you either have to look everywhere till you find that file or contact bittrex support. But I'm telling you, they won't reply any time soon. They already take weeks to reply (but that's just when they're in normal conditions) but right now they made some limitations on unverified accounts (they can't withdraw anything) which basically means they're receiving thousands and thousands of tickets on a daily basis.

Even if looking for the file takes you a month, that will probably faster than bittrex support replying to your ticket.

Accounts connected: prm, invest4all, invest4allru and probably many more. Digging deeper.

Proof:

The bitcoin address on the profile of the user "prm" which can be seen here and the address shared by the user "invest4all" which can be seen in this post are controlled by the same person.

This can be proven by two ways.
Number one. In the following transaction: 22a5c4b221d136b80d2ec609973993b7f528cb8dbfd0a36f337d93c07f23ff81 , the two addresses mentioned before are used as inputs.

I guess that's already enough proof these two accounts are the same person.
However, there is more evidence.
They're basically controlled by the same wallet. Check it out here: https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/0423dfceec7cd235/addresses

They're number 1 and 3 on the list.

For the account "invest4allru", that's already the same guy as invest4all as he said it himself (as if it's not obvious lol) here.

78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Indonesian Government Banned Bitcoin on: December 02, 2017, 09:54:11 PM
I am Indonesian, after about 6 years living with bitcoin life, mining, trading and join bitcoin community, from mining and trading i got more income and others benefit but what  happen now? bank central of indonesia will ban bitcoin, Fucking stupid  Indonesian government

https://news.bitcoin.com/indonesia-media-urge-bitcoiners-to-cash-in-ahead-of-coming-crypto-ban/?utm_source=OneSignal%20Push&utm_medium=notification&utm_campaign=Push%20Notifications

And here follows another useless fifth world government that doesn't know anything about ruling a country or economy but just decided to ban one of the few things that the indonesian people use to earn.

I'm not from that region of the world, but I can clearly feel and sense the frustration of the Indonesian people. In fact, I'm sure a lot of them have invested in btc with all they own because there's literally nothing else they can with their lives.
A lot of them work online with whatever abilities and skills they've got and get paid in btc because that's almost the only possible way to get money to their country.

I cannot understand what their government is afraid of ? As if btc will bring destabilization to  their economy or something Cheesy
It's already so messed up. A single USD is equivalent to 13500 Indonesian currency. If btc does anything, it's bringing money into their citizens' hands which they spend in the country which means more money in the economical system.

I'm not sure if it's just rumors or actually applied, but governments shouldn't ban something they have no idea about just like that.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New hardfork this december...? on: December 02, 2017, 09:44:40 PM
It will not be one or two hard forks for btc but many more... Those hard forks are so boring...
- Dec 15th: Super Bitcoin (498888 block)
- Dec 23-24: Bitcoin Platinum (500000 block)
- Dec 31st: Bitcoin Uranium (block unknown)
- Jan 2nd: Bitcoin Cash Plus (501407 block)
- Date & Time Unknown: Bitcoin Silver (block unknown)

Are you serious ?
I usually don't keep up with news regarding hard forks except if it's really worth it and not just a money grab.
But oh my days a fork every two weeks ? Is this the new trend in crypto ?

First it was let's create erc-20 tokens with similar names to popular coins and since the idea is almost dead and doesn't get them enough money anymore, those bastards are trying out hard forks.

Well, the best thing to do right now is to totally ignore these and not even talk about them and they will die on their own.
What really frustrates me is those useless shitcoins have the word "bitcoin" in them.

They all have nothing to offer. The only hard fork that actually caught my attention was BTG as it came in with a new algo which is minable with GPU cards but just the fact that they have premine ruined it.

They'll die. But even faster. They won't even get to what the latest Bitcoin Diamond did. It reached $90 at its highest and going down every day (at $47). And that's one of the coins that actually got a few people talking. But these ones will just pass without anyone even noticing. The trend will end soon on its own.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitconnect scam/ponzi? on: December 02, 2017, 09:33:44 PM
Since you're a bit new let me explain a few things.

Quote
but if the are scam why would they then be #16 at https://coinmarketcap.com/ with a value of $1.023.397.120
This means you literally don't know what coinmarketcap is. It's a website that lists each and every coin/token that has a website and is being traded on an exchange whatsoever.

Their rank is #16 on that list because the default filter applied is according to the total market cap of the coins. And that's where it put itself.

Quote
what are ur guys thought about this?
legit or not legit?

Well you basically answered your own question. Do you think a company/brand/coin that has all that can be considered legit or even close ?

Code:
but then i did the search on google and youtube "bitconnect scam" and oh my god everyone is telling not to invest into this platform cuz its scam its a ponzi pyramid

after doing some more research i found some stuff that made my bells ring like
we dont know the owner/founder?
we dont know address?
we dont know if they really have a trading bot?
it's a bit fishy to get 1% a day
after they got confronted at blockchain EXPO 2017 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjkS-9y_0PI they really seem like a scam company to me

Quote
just enjoying it and thinking one day i would hopefully pull out $10k or maybe even more
Well they probably won't even be there any more when you reach that amount.

Well first of all, you should pull out your money at once from bitconnect as soon as you can. It's a total scam. They control the markets, trades, everything. Their reputation is the worst a crypto currency has ever been. I don't know why or on what basis you just decided that it's a good place to invest in but whoever or whatever advised you to do so is totally untrustworthy.

Besides, just take a look at their price graphs. HUGE drop in market cap while the price is exactly the same and even rising Huh

Definitely not something that I'd trust my money with. There's way too many trusted currencies to invest in. ETH and BTC on the top of the list.
