61  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do if bitcoin crash? on: March 25, 2023, 06:54:21 AM
Bitcoin would not affect my personal wealth. However, it's important to remember that any investment carries risk, and it's important to diversify one's portfolio to mitigate that risk.
This is one of the most common advise and also one that you should consider the best. People keep forgetting about the risks attached when money is involved specially when we talk about investments, and sadly they will go all the way for the sake of "high risk, high reward" kind of strategy, but is that really the best way to minimize losses? I also don't think that's the best way to invest but instead it can be called gamble. Yes, I also admit that I often do this things not because I'm bored or just to experience the thrill of "all or nothing", but because I do want to earn bigger by risking big, but it is not really an advisable way to do this kind of investing.

Having this kinds of information will help a lot in the future for those who needs reference and instructions regarding how to's in the forum. Personally, I don't have any posting style as long as I can reply even if it's not that accurate as long as it can contribute to the discussion coz what's more important for me is, it should be relevant to the topic not just some random words or flowery words just to make your post longer.
63  Economy / Economics / Re: How is the cost of living in your country? on: March 25, 2023, 01:33:39 AM
Unfortunately, the cost of living has increased in almost all countries, and almost nowhere are there any real effective measures to solve the problem. The spontaneous increase in the retirement age can be viewed as an act of impotence, or stupidity.
Even if it hurts if you put it that way, we don't have any choice since it is the reality we're facing right now. It's also true that it's not only few countries could feel the rising prices of all the goods, but the worse could be feel from countries having low economy. An example is my country, minimum wages are no longer sustainable specially if you have a family of three. This is why some families here started to find extra income by starting small businesses while some are doing side hustles even if both parents are working, it's no longer viable. Luckily there is no gender discrimination when it comes to work or jobs. With this I could literally say that the cost of living is already killing those who only wanted to survive.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying cheap is best formula on: March 22, 2023, 01:57:03 PM
There is no such thing as exact timing if you want to buy Bitcoin. This was a major topic back then as to what price is the specific buying price for bitcoin, and as usual we will keep telling you to buy as much as you want and hold as long as you need to. Data from research also shows that most of the gainers are those who invested without minding the price and kept buying over and over. In a long run time will only tell how much you've gain, but it is already a sure way for profit.
65  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is ageing and old people part of bitcoin? on: March 22, 2023, 03:44:49 AM
To a large extent, I still support the aged to use Bitcoin as an alternative but not as an investment because old people don have the time to wait, and we all know how Bitcoin investment is for the long term, so obviously old people prefer businesses that will yield profits immediately since their time is limited such investment like properties and restaurants that deal daily sale but not some things as volatile as bitcoin who doesn't have a physical representation.

-So I am against the ops from persuading his grand pa to buy Bitcoin,  Bitcoin is a knowledge-based investment and old people may not have that motivation to wait.
There is also this reason why it's not good to persuade older people to invest. I have also seen lots of people in their 40's who are against investment and are still living at the moment or in the middle of still enjoying their lives, but I have also ask some local neighbors with age range of 55 and up about investment, and one thing they regretted is not investing while they're still young.

So, in hindsight age really doesn't matter in terms of investment, it only varies from person to person what is their perspective when it comes to investment and the word that persuading people either young or old will come in.
66  Economy / Speculation / Re: What about the little increase? on: March 21, 2023, 01:08:59 PM
The little spike in price doesn't mean the bear market is finally over. There's no need for high hopes now, investors are watching attentively, what I think is that Bitcoin may possibly reach $30k before the month ends, but we may not even see $50,000 before the end of the year.
Actually we know that bearish season is still in progress but it has two dimensions currently because we can't portray that we are In bullrun or neither bearish, but we can conclude that the market is having a positive change since this year started,  I can say we are out of bearish market when we the market is opportune to get to forty-to-forty five thousand (40k/45k), so without bitcoin price reaching to this point, I don't think we can come to conclusions that bitcoin price is getting accelerated and also hoping that we are out of bearish market.
A lot of people assume that we are already exiting the bear market, but I don't think we are there yet since we are still hanging on a thread between exiting and still continuing. We can only hope we would exit the season and proceed to the next one, but personally I am comfortable as of this moment since we still have time to prepare (just don't jinx it fingers crossed).

I'm pretty sure not only me is waiting for the arrival of the next season, and to be honest no one could predict it's next movement, so let's just hope for the better.
67  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Offering Malicious Script Service - XDrainer on: March 21, 2023, 11:50:52 AM
Tsk tsk tsk I support the notion. It's a good thing you posted this here. I remember maybe it was around November I think? when there was a massive wallet drain happened on solana platform. I think this guys are attacking every platform just earn money. For sure those who are newbies and unaware about this specially in social media would think it a normal extension that you'd only need to connect your wallet.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Referral bonuses are waste of time on: March 21, 2023, 08:29:25 AM
Referral bonus in my opinion happens to be one of the easiest means to make cash, only that the cash are just for airtime/data subscription but that's not bad.
I've never had a tough time trying to claim my bonus in as much as I follow due procedures, the money drops automatically.
it should really get a referral bonus automatically there are also those who have to claim it, but it's not easy to find casino referral bonuses because we have to really promote it to the right targets, for example active gamblers, it's not easy to find new people unless we make some kind of video tutorial or live video to provide proof of our wins and profits playing at the casino so many people who will easily register via a referral link also play actively, because it's useless for people to register via a referral link but they don't play and that would be a waste of time
It's hard to find the right target market alone in regular casinos, how much more when it crypto related casino? To my understanding, not everyone is aware of crypto and also there are people who are not interested in casino while there are both. Finding the right target market requires a lot of effort and finding people, coz although you have referred them, you can still run the risk of getting blamed if they lost, that is why you need to tell them the risks first coz mostly people would immediately ask you "how can I earn from it?", admit it or not that's mostly the case.

One of the reasons why I don't do those referrals in anything. I remembered back then my friends are referring to an investment scam, I didn't say anything back then and kept silent (though I warned them), although I know what will happen and the consequences I still chose to be silent, coz first I want them to learn by their own actions second I want to teach them that those things can damage ones friendship so they will no longer participate by those schemes. If ever there will be time they'll join another referral campaigns at least they already knew when to be cautious and not just immediately jump into the fray without knowing what they are risking.
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Strangest Bet You Have Ever Had? on: March 21, 2023, 07:28:28 AM
As far as I can remember the strangest bet I ever had was on a game "cockfight", it is common here in my country and though local games are illegal there are also some that are held on a coliseum in which it is considered legal. I had remember one time I went into a coliseum with one of my relatives  who is an avid gambler of that game, and me personally, I don't even gamble on this kind of games and he kept teasing me to try and gamble coz maybe I'll be struck by luck ( he means beginners luck ), but I kept refusing him coz I am not really a fan of this gamble. So he made a bet on me that if I chose one of the chickens and win he will $2,000 of cash, but the catch is he will still be the one to give me money as capital since that time I didn't bring even a penny with me. So I did the wager since it's all free either I win or lose I'm not the one losing. The fun part is that I didn't choose either of the 2 chickens, I wagered on "DRAW" that means nobody is the winner. He was so angry when he learned that I wagered on that and he does have a reason coz it was somewhat big amount of money. He kept grumbling coz I was wasting my money, but I was there on the side just laughing so much that my stomach is already hurting. Also the thing is I was the only one betting on that side coz when it comes to cockfight only the last one standing will win, which one died first will be the loser and there is almost zero percent that you'll won by draw like you are flipping a coin.

The funniest part is that I actually won, I don't know how it happen coz I don't really understand the mechanics of that game aside from someone winning or losing. To be honest up until now I still find it funny why I won on that gamble, but in the end he still gave me the promised amount.

Fact: This game is illegal in some countries due to that being animal cruelty, and I am saying this coz I don't really liked the game due to it that is why I didn't bet on it intentionally.

71  Economy / Economics / Re: Has anyone felt lost in pursuit of financial freedom ? on: March 20, 2023, 06:58:12 AM
There were times when I usually just don't want to keep money but instead just spend it. I get tired saving, investing, and overall just making money back then. But I realized, money runs everything; it pays for rent, keeps a roof above my head, pays for gas, and food of course. If I were to just stop making money, I would forfeit most of these in an instant and I will be living my life horribly. But yeah, good thing is, I got some motivation that I really needed to get going and here I am still, trying to make as much money as I can for myself and for an early retirement (hopefully).
Doing this over and over again is really exhausting and mentally draining, but once you realize that money becomes part of the needs everything changes. Survival nowadays includes money for everything, the basic human needs requires money and so on, the only thing that isn't paid by money is air/oxygen. It's really nice to have and early retirement and having lots of money from your investment, but the process of achieving that is really long. I also been to the point when I just wanted to quit, but the thing that pushes me is "it's hard to live without money". I have been through ups and downs in life, who else doesn't right? so I'm not worried if I were poor and could eat 3 times a day, but that 3 times a day requires sufficient amount of money in the end. Then I finally decided if I only needed money to survive why not go all the way right?
72  Economy / Gambling / Re: What sort of Weekly & Monthly Bonuses do Bitcointalk members want? on: March 20, 2023, 05:29:30 AM
Many ways can be done by casinos so that their customers who are included in small gamblers can get pleasure and benefit from the bonuses that are given.
For example, giving a free spin bonus to gamblers who want to make a low deposit and setting a small enough wager limit for those who can only place a limited bet.
Casinos should also prioritize this kind of thing so that small gamblers are always happy to play there and become loyal customers even if they only bet small amounts.
They are small gamblers and rich gamblers actually have the same goal, namely to play and get pleasure and victory, so it seems that every casino must be able to take care of all their customers so that the community that has been formed remains a big and strong community.
Worst thing is, I hate wagering cheat I don't know if that is because of my bad experience the first time I was trapped in that kiosk, I have to make a 5x wager to be able to withdraw so in trying to meet that condition I lost the entire balance including the winning.

-So since then I rather not look for bonuses I prefer to just play with my balance and be able to withdraw when I want.
Maybe thinking like what you are experiencing because of a bad experience in the past that made you lose all your funds. In fact, you don't need to do this if the bonus you can get is not commensurate with what has been spent.
After all, bonuses are shown for those who are willing and interested in getting them even though they have to spend money first to get these bonuses.
Casinos provide bonuses with the aim of being able to attract more gamblers' attention so they are interested in playing there, but on the other hand casinos also don't want to experience losses from giving bonuses that are carried out, so they provide special requirements to continue to be able to benefit from giving these bonuses.
It is a good choice if you prefer to keep betting with your balance because that way it can give you more confidence and you will always control your finances when betting.
Is this the same thing that you cannot withdraw unless you reach the amount of threshold from your total wager? If so, I don't think some platforms are doing this right coz I have seen some sites that you'll lose all your money due to not reaching the certain amount of total wagers. The other week I was playing some kind of slots which is locally popular here in my country and manage to won a certain amount, but the catch is I needed to level up to VIP position before I could withdrew my money, and to do that I needed to reach a certain amount in wager to unlock the withdrawal status.

Personally I don't think it is a bad thing since I only tried the minimum deposit and manage to win bigger amount, but it makes me think what if? what if all the money I won lose instead? Luckily I reached the requirement and though I lost about $500 in the process, that amount was already within my profits.
73  Economy / Economics / Re: Benefit from Higher Education? on: March 19, 2023, 10:46:37 AM
I wonder if higher education will help for entrepreneurship?
Everyone has personal ideals. Some people pursue higher education so they can get jobs from the government, others only focus on how they can find something different after studying higher education.
Some people are successful because they use their muscles, others are successful because they use their brains. This is the difference between hard work and smart work.
Higher education will determine how someone can produce something in a smarter way. And education is led us to think, not to be rich.
But mostly it would really be on that side on which they are pursuing on getting a degree so that in future they wouldnt really be having a hard time on applying for some job which its actually true because we know that competition is really high when it comes to job vacancies which does simply means that if you dont have that kind of attainment then getting some those typical jobs would really be that impossible since we know on whose really be that on priority and to those who doesnt have educational attainment then its understandable on where you would be ending up.We know that not all people would really
be that successful though even if you do have a degree, some people who doesnt have does have more but of course it would be depending on how you would be handling up yourself
on different conditions or opportunities.
Way back, my grandmother use to tell me that I need to attain a degree for me to have more options in life when choosing a career. She also said it doesn't matter if I don't continue/pursue my chosen course after I graduate and even if I decide to choose whatever path I make she'll support me as long as I finish my degree. Later I realized she had a point, coz nowadays as long as you have degree you can still choose to go back on your degree if it happens that you'll fail from your new path.

In entrepreneurship, with or without degree, there really isn't much importance in it, as long as you have basic understanding in how you will manage your finances and understand the structure of the business you wanted to start, coz honestly most successful entreps begin from "trial and error" then they begin to learn the process along the way. It's important to have a strong stomach for risks and be ready for the failures possibly coming the way. The only dofference in having a degree is that, while having a degree doesn't guarantee you anything in this world full of competitions, at the very least you have already a path set to you or guides as an option, while in entrep it's all or nothing sometimes.
74  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do if bitcoin crash? on: March 19, 2023, 06:23:31 AM
No one is able to avoid the process of correction or recovery in bitcoin, rising and falling prices are processes that we will encounter in the market, for some people who are familiar with bitcoin, rising and falling prices are natural because of fluctuations. So stay calm and don't worry about this problem, because the power of bitcoin has been proven to be able to recover prices in following cycles.

The concept of bitcoin runs by itself and decentralization is a way of working that makes it more dominant, starting from the utilization of investments to maintaining the value of the investment you make.
At least it has always been like this before this time, the movement of bitcoin has always been cyclical and we are used to it, so everyone is waiting for the cycles to repeat further. But we still don’t know how long all this can be permanent, the cryptocurrency market is still very young, we are only on the initial path of its development.

I probably would not be scared if something affected bitcoin so that it would crash, it would be something like a covid dump for me, but this is something that has already happened before.
As long as there are people who believe on the existence of bitcoin, it wont crash that badly, not unless there is something big that will happen that heavily involves bitcoin on a negative scale, that's the time we will some big crash. I am also not worried about bitcoin crashing due to previous events that happened so far that only made bitcoin more stronger.

Even if as of now, there are only few countries who happen to legally tenderize bitcoin, it is still on the early stages in development and there will be more to come in the near future. We could already feel the slight changes and slow but steady adaptation of bitcoin from various fields in our economy.
75  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The after effects of flood and to combat them. on: March 19, 2023, 03:36:34 AM
It's the same in our country too. While those affected areas are suffering and still waiting for rescue, the senate are still arguing what to do instead of taking action to resolve the problem. There was also a time that the intended donations and relief goods along with the money were pocketed by the officials and the goods that arrived on the affected area are either expired or rotten. This was when Yolanda hit our country and thousands of people died.
76  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most of the world population involved in gambling on: March 19, 2023, 03:07:14 AM
And this is the reason why many gambling companies or sites are become successful, because there's a lot gamblers out there. I'd consider gacha in online game is gambling, nowadays most of popular games always have gacha in order to get the limited skin, item, skill etc. It's not surprising when someone is really want to get the limited skin, he will keep spend his money to get it even though he's use his money that will be used to buy foods.
Even MMORPG games have gacha nowadays for example Genshin Impact and Tower of Fantasy. Though they offer free spins, there are still people who love to spend some amount of money to get those exclusive items or some perks and benefits such as VIP.

Ever since I was a kid I really loved playing MMORPG's and I've spend some amount too with some of them, but I have realized too that it isn't really beneficial to me aside from it'll give me entertainment. Aside from having fun there is nothing much to gain, it makes me remember the saying " we are drawn to exclusivity" and paying to get those benefits only proves that.
77  Economy / Speculation / Re: what now ? on: March 18, 2023, 12:27:00 PM
Many people think and feel that it is too late to buy when they see the price rising as it is today, but when the price is below and many are advised to buy most of them just wait and hope the price continues to fall, successful investors never make too much analysis or predictions, take action immediately and buying is what we have to do to get profit when the price is rising.

Analyzing before buying is necessary, but making too many incorrect predictions I don't think is necessary. Because making a decision to take action immediately when they see that the price of Bitcoin has fallen is very appropriate, but some people are still very afraid of making decisions when they see a decline in Bitcoin so they prefer to wait for recovery to occur.

And those who didn't have time to buy at a low price in the past few days must have felt regret now when they saw the price of Bitcoin almost touching $ 27K today. And my advice to those who have bought at a low price is to hold on to the Bitcoin they have for the higher price because the increase will probably continue this month.
Those who bought immediately and didn't wait for too many predictions actually gained a lot, those who are lucky enough to spot it ASAP and bought it without hesitation are undeniably those who earned in the past month or week. Right now the market is slowly recovering and it's not guaranteed yet whether it'll continue this way but at very least the chances are not that high that it'll sink.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The journey of successful business man who were professional gamblers on: March 18, 2023, 11:17:40 AM
This proves that the money earned through the casino can be used professionally to establish themselves. But the number will not be very high and that success is not very easy to achieve. Keeping money from casino gambling is not possible for everyone. But there is no evidence that those who have succeeded here have only collected money from casinos. But I won't deny that they probably use that money. Maybe they have other more financial sources.
I highly agree with that since relying solely on casino to start your business is not advisable and indeed very risky, but it's not that earning from gambling is unacceptable, it's just that this is not for everyone. I also believe that this isn't the only source of income they have, and since they are entrepreneurs they do know the risks involved and how to manage their finances and investment. In short they got lucky enough to win those amazing prizes and used it as an additional investment to further increase their networth.
79  Economy / Economics / Re: Could Bitcoin one day become the global reserve currency? on: March 18, 2023, 08:11:50 AM
Without legal recognition from the state, of course, bitcoin can already be said to be a global currency, now the community is growing and making bitcoin more and more popular so that when we want to pay with bitcoin, many understand, with communities spread in almost all countries, I'm sure one day bitcoin can be global reserve currency.
As a legal tender? I doubt it, the thing about making it as a global reserve is not something achievable at this moment or even in the near future.

Number one reason alone:

* Volatility

There is no immediate fix on that one and even if we manage to convince users, do you think the state will? It is indeed noticeable that crypto is in the rapid state of evolution and we could feel the changes that it offers, but it's not convincing enough to consider it to be treated as global reserve currency, though it is still unclear, in the meantime it is still considered a dream that seems impossible to become reality.
80  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Will it be considered as Ponzi (Strange Bank) on: March 18, 2023, 06:29:05 AM
Updating this thread as I recalled they still have some questions that is yet to be answered. I saw that their last online date --as per this post was made-- was on 5th of March and still no response on this thread. Upon trying to see if they were active or give any update on their other channels --ANN thread, telegram, website, etc.-- I realized that they changed their domain --is it considered as changing a domain if we change the ".io" to ".org"?-- and updated their thread to reflect this change of address on the 26th of February, they're now on strangebank.org

Given they seemed to evading my question on whether they have access to the total supply --as they went AWOL after that-- and choose to update their domain while still ignoring this accusation against them, I personally feel the suspicion grow bigger. I wonder why they changed their address from .io to .org
The answer is that their www.strangebank.io domain has been suspended by the registrar. If you look at the domain status on Who.is, you will find that its status is clientHold, clientTransferProhibited, so they registered a .org domain to move their shit on it.  Roll Eyes

These scammers do not stop and back down from their actions that may cause people to lose their funds, it is good that you alerted us of their new domain so that we can report it on NameCheap and even if they create more domains, we'll be like their nightmares.

Now I remembered one of our local attorneys saying "if there's no investor that will bite the bait, there will be no more victims". This was way back when Axie is a trend, although he phrased it very differently, the message is clear that don't bite the bait if you don't want to regret in the end. As I was reading the posts here, it seems clear to me that there is something shady going on, it's already a big NO that they're offering big returns as a form of a printable token, while this issue of changing domains is a way to avoid getting caught at the same time so many unanswered questions which only make it more complicated.
