61  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless society on: June 24, 2017, 01:16:42 PM
Recently I've also dream about cashless society, it would be very interesting. In the cashless society there are some features should be maintained, technology must be available everywhere, alternative cash must be invented. In this case, Bitcoin and other altacoin can play pioneer role to lead a cashless society...

Well, middle and upper class of western europe is mostly cashless already - cards/e-wallets etc only... but I can't see any real affect of this
62  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is... surprisingly stable today? on: June 24, 2017, 01:13:17 PM
Wait for August 1. if you want to se instability Grin

from the other hand the effect of August 1st might already affect the price... almost everyone is aware of this so maybe nothing would happen August at all  Grin
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] POPULOUS - Invoice trading platform | ICO l BOUNTY CAMPAIGN on: June 24, 2017, 11:46:15 AM
Is the pre-sale and/or ICO available to U.S. residents?

I am curious about this as well. Clif High suggested another crypto on Twitter last night, but for non US residents only as it is located in the UK. Well, the crypto he talked about is called tenx and it looks as though it has the same street address as Populous in the UK.

So if a US resident sent ETH to Populous, are they in violation of any US
laws?

Nervous noob here, any info would be appreciated!

Not a legal advice) but since there are no laws about ICOs I don't think that it can be illegal. Especially if you are the buyer and especially if not a biggest one.... if SEC would like to regulate ICOs, it would be reasonable if they'd start from regulating the token sellers rather than buyers
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: COINDASH - Future of trading - ICO July 2017 on: June 24, 2017, 11:37:09 AM
Interesting approach, would love to test the beta. I'm just a bit confused, how the ICO of the project will be organized? Or it's information noone besides the team (yet) knows?
65  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is... surprisingly stable today? on: June 24, 2017, 11:22:08 AM
Stable price is good for bitcoin. It may attract big companies to accept it if it continues to be stable with only small chunk of movements. Companies that are skeptical about bitcoin until now. This would be a good incentive for bitcoin and its price to rise further up. However we have to wait and see what happens on August 1.

so stable price results in growth making it unstable again.. seems the statement contradicts itself, but also seems that it works ))
66  Economy / Speculation / Re: any chance bitcoin to rise up to $5000 this year or a fatal crash? on: June 24, 2017, 10:25:19 AM
Hello all experts, what do you guys think about it? Is there any chance for bitcoin the digital currency to rise up to the level of $5000 this year. I just read a news and now they are saying bitcoin speculators are the new day traders which definitely means the volume is rising and so are the traders.
Not anytime soon. The price already when above expected withing last few months. Don't think it will be happening again. And again with all those Segwit and August 1 events we aren't sure about the price of bitcoins.

I believe it may... but I agree that we need to see what'll happen August. Something may happen with the price either good or bad))
67  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where to invest my 20 BTC (lifesavings) on: June 24, 2017, 10:22:26 AM
I'd leave 50% as is - in BTC

The other half can be splitted 50/50 between let's say 50% for ICOs (I mean the tokens that are meant to be some equity in startup) and crowdfunding campaigns (using platforms like bnktothefuture.com etc) & 50% for promising "coins" like "Bitcoin 2.0 or 3.0" etc)))

Crowdfunding and tokens are more like long time investment, so it's better forget about it for some time
But I'd keep an eye on the "coins" updates like new features planned and other key events, selling/buying sometimes (buy on rumor, sell on fact etc)).

I used similar aproach myself and will do again for sure, results can be amazing especialy if you'd spend some days for due diligence before making the decision what to buy...
68  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is... surprisingly stable today? on: June 24, 2017, 10:14:30 AM
Well near a year ago before the last race I was thinking that the price is finally stable... but look where we came )))))
69  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless society on: June 24, 2017, 10:13:02 AM
How would a cashless society look? Everyone would by equal. Everyone would by rewarded by working hard. People would trade items off worth with each other and lend stuff out for something else. I don't see much wrong with that it happens in some countries already.

It's more like moneyless society you are referring to... some socialistic countries are/was trying to create one but without real success. Btw few thousands years ago society was moneyless but doesn't seem that people were equal... even in animal prides there are some roles etc, money has nothing to do with it
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitShares 2.0 on: June 24, 2017, 10:06:19 AM
I've downloaded latest windows client and try to connect - but I'm getting "sync error" all the time:

"Once you've synchronized your clock, please refresh this page...
If your clock is already correct, the API server you're using could be out of sync. In that case, please try a different server from the list below"

My clock is OK, so what should I do? Tried different servers without success... BTW I just want to access my existing wallet not to run the node etc, maybe I'm doing something wrong?
71  Economy / Economics / Re: Will third world country hold their foreign reserve in bitcoin against Dollar? on: June 24, 2017, 10:00:38 AM
Most of the third world country hold their foreign reserve  in dollar. Do you think any of these third world country will accept Bitcoin and equally holds their foreign reserve in bitcoin instead of dollar form? In your own opinion what do you think will happen to such economy both in terms of positive and negative effects?
Yeah, no third world country is holding bitcoin right now and I do believe that some of them dont even know what BItcoin is and what they can do with bitcoin. Moreover, those countries do not have enought technology and knowledge to understand deeply about bitcoin. Therefore, don't expect that those countries will make a huge impact in the bitcoin price.
Well, if you go through my post vividly you will see that I didn't say any that third world country is currently holding bitcoin as part of their foreign reserve. And I was referring to the impacts on the third world country economies not to the market value of Bitcoin. I believe there is no country on this planet earth that is not aware of Bitcoin at the moment for Bitcoin has gone above that level.

Maybe some are already experimenting with it, we can't know all the details  Wink
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best source of bitcoin nowadays? on: June 24, 2017, 09:44:18 AM
Trading is more promising and it depends on the capital we have. The profit from trading is huge even though the risk of loss is also great.
It takes a long time to learn trading, but more and more people are jumping for BTC or Alcoin trading.

The only thing is that trading can be the worst source of losses too... when one reads such topics it seems like trading is something one can learn quite easily like obtaining other skills - but it is completely another story

And for newbies especially, it's more like gambling.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | Nxt | Blockchain Platform | Proof of Stake | Official on: June 24, 2017, 09:37:55 AM
Is it worth mining NXT? I already invested some bitcoins on this but Its just staying on the exchange? I want to know if its worth it running a node here to mine this coin. Or just better hold it.

Better not keep your NXT or any other crypto at exchange if you don't plan trading it... check bter and otehrs, people lost billions already
74  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: June 24, 2017, 09:31:00 AM
I really don't think much of the billionaire's will be investing into bitcoin. Because they probably have  already been making a good amount of profit through real time business. But more and more has started to invest into bitcoin related business as they have started to understand the real value. But billionaires, there were just a few that i heard of.

Well, who's buying/selling 100s-1000s bitcoins making those huge orders etc at exchanges? Whoever doing such moves should be at least billionare considering the current BTC price
75  Economy / Economics / Re: Will third world country hold their foreign reserve in bitcoin against Dollar? on: June 11, 2017, 08:26:26 AM
I believe at least Zimbabve should try investing in Bitcoin.. if I were in their government I'd try swtiching to BTC instead of their mostly worthless currency
76  Economy / Economics / Re: Holdings of gold vs Holdings of btc on: June 11, 2017, 08:24:07 AM
Does anyone have any idea how many people are using gold as a store of value vs btc?  And how long do you think until we have the same user Base as holders of gold?

In my opinion, I would rather to hold them both, Gold is surely increasing everyweek but not that as high or aggressive like bitcoin. And for what is good about in bitcoin you can earn faster depending in the demand of the community users of bitcoin.

Yaps, gold and bitcoin have an different advantage, if long-term investment, I prefer to hold gold, because the price of gold continues to grow and the real intrinsic value, it is a real asset of gold at a stable price, and we all know that gold is already used as a tool of transactions From the past, still alive till now, and still considered something worthwhile and has its own character, .. But if for short-term investments and to earn fast money, bitcoin is perfect, the price is fast changing and and always the price is posotif, will give you a quick profit, it's just bitcoin does not give any guarantee, we do not know until when this bitcoin alive .

IMO buying the gold in digital form doesn't differ much in terms with the bitcoin purchase, but physical gold is really sort of completely other thing
77  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: June 11, 2017, 08:21:53 AM
I think they are... at least when someone buys like 1000 BTC once he should be billionare to fund such a deal  Grin
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin? on: June 11, 2017, 08:20:35 AM
IMO Bitcoin is like USD, Ethereum is like EUR maybe, Litecoin is GBP etc... so there is surely place for at least 100 altcoins ))))
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best source of bitcoin nowadays? on: June 11, 2017, 08:05:08 AM
Seems that ICOs are the best source of Bitcoins at least for the ones who start it... it's everywhere now, seems to be "the next big thing"
I not think like you, very more ICOs starting in 2017, and in 2017, do you think a huge project will take a big scam in history of ICOs? ICOs is good but in recently, we can see it everywhere, look like a ponzi project or HYIP

i'm not saying it's scam
but it definitely brings a lot of  BTCs to ones who run it

IPO is huge source of cash for example as well
80  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What kind of worst decisions do you take when trading? on: June 10, 2017, 01:33:00 PM
My worst decisions were usually selling BTCs I had to USD.... although I made some really nice returns few times, if I never sold my BTCs I would be very very very rich now  Roll Eyes
