61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC to MTGOX this July? (maybe for real this time?) on: June 21, 2013, 03:43:13 PM
I'm having deja vu and amnesia at the same time...I think I've forgotten about this before...
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devtome killed by Bitbanter on: June 20, 2013, 12:06:58 AM
Didn't even load the front page...the number of scripts with appallingly long names scared me off for good.

5 minutes of Googling tells me it's a "Bitcoin fueled satire engine". Based on that, your claim sounds like the equivalent of declaring The Onion "killed" Wikipedia.

11/10, well played good sir
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to BitBar (BTB) on: June 18, 2013, 09:10:45 PM
Would recommend OP changes the poll to allow each user to submit multiple answers...I personally believe it was a combination of the 60 BTB instamine + no intelligible differences from existing chains + all the shills stuffing up the forums with propaganda of "CONSOLIDATE YOUR WEALTH IN BITBAR!!!!!" that made absolutely no sense.

In any case: good riddance BTB.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you want your favorite altcoin to survive: mine it. on: June 17, 2013, 07:54:09 PM
People need to find loyalty and forget greed.

Either you are very young, very old, very naive - or very hypocrite. Or all of it.

Or you are from the past and found a way to post into the future: [hippie]

Or he's from Berkeley or Santa Cruz, where a fellow like that would fit right in.

On topic: Wholeheartedly agree with the OP. All these "help you mine the most profitable coin" charts help contribute to wild swings in difficulty across the altchains. I don't want to bash them with a hammer (since miners have to pay the bills somehow) but it would be excellent to see more dedicated hashing power in the most useful altchains.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DEVCOINS? on: June 13, 2013, 11:50:41 PM
fyi when there is an extreme sentiment that is when market will change, this troll sparked extreme negative sentiment towards dvc so I expect it to do the opposite of what most ppl feel and to go up Smiley I'm probably the only one expecting this but it will be a fun ride knowing most ppl are not on the bus but those who had a bit of patience.

I'd hardly call the actions of one failtroll as a catalyst sparking "extreme negative sentiment towards DVC". Extreme negative sentiment towards himself? Definitely. Towards the whole currency? Nowhere even close...

If anything, these events have only made the DVC community stronger in the end. And I, for one, will continue using the currency.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin Moderated on: June 13, 2013, 07:17:14 PM
Agreed, moderated thread is good idea.

Next good idea:  clean the devcoin wiki of all the pumping falsehoods added by FinShaggy.

You may be interested in the following thread on devcointalk where we discuss something related (how to avoid users spamming the site with useless information).

Not intended as a criticism towards FinShaggy or anyone else; merely a pointer to further related discussion. It's a delicate issue whenever someone wants content from a community-driven site removed, doubly so when money is involved...
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devtome: Get Hundreds of Thousands of free Devcoins for writing on: June 13, 2013, 07:07:47 PM
I cannot decipher this post. I think you're saying nobody got paid? Well, payments are still coming. This was merely a test transaction, but judging by your post your English skills don't seem all too great, and I assume you won't read half of this post. Infact, the only words you'll read is "nobody got paid".

Owsley is an anti-DVC troll who's been quite active recently...would recommend ignoring him.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: June 11, 2013, 10:27:59 PM
Weak troll is weak.

Hello ignorelist, haven't had to use you for a while now...
70  Economy / Speculation / Re: I just cashed out my lot of Bitcoins for Gold. Here's why. on: June 08, 2013, 06:47:43 PM
OP should change his name to "Elmer FUD" and continue making these predictions. It would be even more amusing!
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is with Bitbar ? It disappeared ? on: June 07, 2013, 06:44:07 PM
Nice to see the BTB fanboys are still alive and deluded as ever...
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So how did YOU first hear about bitcoin? on: June 07, 2013, 04:32:18 AM
About one year ago. I take the light rail into work on occasion and it has wifi on all cars. I tend to use the time to catch up on email, get powerpoints done, and just surf the web when there's nothing else to do.

I was idly browsing Craigslist one day when one of the listings for a GPU mentioned something about "good for Bitcoin mining!!!" as a defining characteristic. Being curious - and having time on my hands - I hit up Google immediately afterward. The rest is history.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most promising Altcoin for the future of mining? on: June 05, 2013, 03:35:55 PM
ZTC - Demand is overflowing that folks are mining the coin even prior to official launch.

Which may very well lead to the coin's downfall...
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cool new BLF scam grab you cash and line up suckers on: June 04, 2013, 10:53:54 PM
This racket they're running is reaching legendary proportions...
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New coin! (Warning Thread contains cursing) on: June 04, 2013, 03:49:23 PM
Expected more cursing in thread. Was disappointed.

What a fucking load of bullshit...
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Well, I'm done here on: June 04, 2013, 03:39:03 PM
Digg?  I think this needs an update

Obligatory "XKCD has done it" comment (though mind you, this one is also 3 years old at this point).

Also, LOL @ attention-whore OP coming back after "leaving forever".
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most important characteristics for launching a new coin on: June 04, 2013, 03:23:40 AM
1) Fork the Bitcoin repo
2) Change a few constants
3) TADA!!! Your own "new" scamcoin.

In all seriousness: Something that's more innovative than the above, and define a clear useful purpose for your coin.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Well, I'm done here on: June 03, 2013, 08:58:44 PM
here's your "mature" bitcoin society https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=224478.0

This somehow reminds me of Pirate Bay's bid to buy out Sealand...
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Well, I'm done here on: June 03, 2013, 06:02:43 PM
The next time I lose money to an obvious pump-and-dumpcoin, I'll post a dramatic soap opera exit post too Grin
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most promising Altcoin for the future of mining? on: June 03, 2013, 05:21:24 PM
If I was going to take up mining again?

1) Start my own coin
2) Instamine
3) PUMP AND DUMP!

Guaranteed profit here, as we've seen countless time and time again...
