61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blackrock ETF listed on the ticker index… perhaps it’s approved? on: October 24, 2023, 09:45:28 PM
It's not manipulation.
How much bitcoin can you buy? How much can newcomers buy right now? If someone hears about the acceptance of an ETF and buys some bitcoin it's not going to be a 100 thousand dollars of bitcoin.
It's more likely going to be 10 thousand or less.

What we're witnessing here is people investing hundreds of millions into bitcoin in one week.
A manipulation can only get you half way with some leveraged trades liquidated but then for it to keep going you need real money coming in. Big money!

It was reveal in this new thread that the ticker is not removed on the DTCC website.  Whatever the reason why it was removed,

You're saying it wasn't removed but was. Cheesy

62  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has anybody expected this? on: October 24, 2023, 07:32:15 PM
You should visit the wall observer thread OP, people there expected a pump for months.

Most people on this forum expected this which is why they were stacking bitcoin all throughout the bear market. They did not abandon bitcoin when it was sub 20 thousand dollars and they did not panic sell when bitcoin fell from 30 to 26 thousand a few weeks ago. That's what I call conviction.

I still own bitcoin that I had in 2021, so we can say that a rise and another bull market was expected Smiley
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ETF $IBTC REMOVED IN DTCC WEBSITE!! MANIPULATION COMING OUT? on: October 24, 2023, 07:18:03 PM
I don't agree that it was manipulation.

We all see what we want to see.
They were testing the ticker, put it on the list, or they knew ETF is getting approved a month or two from now so they put the ticker on their site.

Everybody knows the ETF is not approved yet so there's no reason to go FOMO because of some ticker.
If you do that you're stupid.

It's expected to see some infrastructure being built to support the ETH prior to launch.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will it affect your life if bitcoin price comes to $1 million per bitcoin? on: October 23, 2023, 09:24:41 PM
it would make me richer in FIAT terms, but I will be in the exact same position BTC-wise.

1 Bitcoin = 1 Bitcoin

Love it!

Most of us forum members would be rich as many people here own 1 or more bitcoin, but that doesn't change much if you're not willing to sell.
I had a bitcoin worth 3000 dollars once and then the same bitcoin was worth 20 thousand and then 60 and then 20 again... It did not change my life because I had no reason to sell it.

Many people are rich on paper. Someone called this being potentially reach meaning that we have the ability to show off with our wealth but we don't.
65  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Government job or private job? on: October 23, 2023, 08:11:38 PM
I worked both and usually government job offers more stability with a smaller pay that the private job.

People that I know who work government jobs are paid the bare minimum for that job, but they also get a lot of slack and can take long breaks and use all the benefits. My friend who has a government job usually takes 30 min bathroom breaks every day and nobody says anything, but on the other hand he has to wait for the government to increase wages in his sector for him to get a raise and that often takes years.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to invest or trade Bitcoin? on: October 23, 2023, 07:59:32 PM
I'd ask you how long do you have to hold bitcoin for it to turn from a trade to an investment.

You buy bitcoin and sell it on the same day - that's easy, you are trading
What if you hold for a week and sell after that?
How about a month?
A year?
2 years so that you buy in a bear market and sell in a new bull cycle? Is that trading?

I feel like most people trade it just depends on the time they're willing to hold. For some people it's a few days but for others a few years.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some gambling questions. on: October 19, 2023, 09:23:49 PM
I don't bet a lot and I gamble occasionally, not more than once a month. I don't spend my campaign coins on gambling.
You should keep in mind that not all of the people who post on the forum advertise casinos.
I gamble only with cryptocurrency, no fiat money.
I have a number of favourite games, usually it's poker or blackjack, but I also like roulette and crash.
I don't have a preferred casino but I've played in a number of them.

Are you a responsible gambler?
yes.
Yes' what do you expect?

It's a yes or no answer I guess, so he expects that.
68  Economy / Economics / Re: Will people ever get tired of trading bitcoin? on: October 19, 2023, 09:12:00 PM
BTC will be tired and forgotten when its no longer unique in its traits and positives, when reliable alternatives are easily available to all elsewhere.  I dont see that being an open possibility for decades to come because FIAT currency has become so associated with debt and political moves to avoid any default.   Most technology just mimics FIAT in its operations, also tech benefits from the current cheap debt situation where ordinary workers do not.

Alternatives? Do you mean other decentralized cryptocurrencies with no known creator, nor a company standing behind them and with no ties to the government?

I doubt such alternatives will come in the near future, since nobody tries to develop them.

The people want a decentralized cryptocurrency with wide acceptance. The governments want a centralized currency and the business owners want something that doesn't depreciate. It can be centralized or not, they don't care.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Lump sum Vs DCA" for Bitcoin Accumulation on: October 19, 2023, 06:48:21 PM
DCA is good when you do not know if the price of bitcoin will not increase or decrease. Or if you do not have enough money to invest at once.

The way I see it, the most important is how much money you have and how much income.

A person with no savings isn't affected by inflation much
Someone with a steady income can allocate a part of it into bitcoin, choosing to DCA
Someone who has a lot of saving and a steady income should really think about whether DCA is better than moving some of that fiat money out of the bank and into self custody.
A person with no income but a lot of savings doesn't have to DCA at all. For such people lump sum is the best.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was ripped off on: October 18, 2023, 09:07:07 PM
I don't think the guy actually owns the car but the plates on the car are New Jersey - 12845QQ and he gave me a name of Damon Eden

Did you find this add on Facebook?

Was this 1967 Chevrolet Nova SS PROJECT for $15000?
How did you contact the seller?

Did you use messenger?

Usually there's some trace the police could follow.
If he told you he was the owner of the car and scammed you, that's a matter for the police, pretty much like if you gave him cash and he bailed.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am 19 years old boy living in South korea. Please give me an advice on: October 18, 2023, 08:58:36 PM
You are not late.

Read some price prediction of people who are smarter than you and me and you'll see what I'm talking about. Bitcoin is still in its early stage and the Internet penetration charts prove it. Bitcoin depends on the Internet and requires people to have the basics like access to a computer, decent phone that allows you to install apps, basic understanding of the hardware you're using and the concept of bitcoin. Someone who never used the Internet will not be able to use bitcoin. Many countries have very limited Internet access and that stops people who might be interested in bitcoin from using it.

I believe that at least 1% of all companies in the world will at some point use bitcoin and hold it as collateral.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin accumulation at all time high on: October 18, 2023, 07:26:14 PM
If I had 100m dollars lying around on a bank account, hit by 5% inflation tax each year, I'd really think of moving at least 10% of that to bitcoin. Eventually more whales will enter the market because, and here's the important part, BITCOIN IS USEFUL.

It's useful to people with heaps of money, to people in countries with high inflation, to nomads, who like to move a lot, to people who want to escape oppression or war, like migrants from Russia, Ukraine, now also Israel and Palestine.

I can see only one way for bitcoin in the long run and that's up and the accumulation is going to continue. It may take another 2 years before we see a new high but eventually we will.
73  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: YoMix warning on: October 18, 2023, 06:43:07 PM
Mixes bitcoins and then send to a centralized exchange. When his account is blocked, goes ahead to blame Yomix for putting him on FBI watch list. Who does that?
What was the point of mixing coins then if you were going to send them to a centralized exchange them?

OP, I don't know how long you have used crypto, but you have no one else to blame but yourself. If you want complete privacy and custody of your funds, then avoid centralized exchanges. Simple as that.

OP did not even prove that using YoMix was the reason his account was blocked.
The mail from Uphold doesn't say anything about the reasons for the ban.

I'd say the outcome is still good for OP.
1. He will no longer have to use Uphold that has an ongoing class action lawsuit against them.
2. He will learn to use Mixers or will stop using them the wrong way. In both cases it's a +

If the amounts moved back and forth are small FBI won't even notice you OP. Wink

On top of that I see that the Uphold company is based in London, which is the money laundering capital of the world for large amounts of money.

Uphold is headquartered in New York, 6 W 18th St 3rd Floor, United States, and has 2 office locations.

74  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Transformation of capitalism into socialism in the West on: October 17, 2023, 06:50:33 PM
^
Socialism is not only about taxes. It's also the way your private property is treated.
Socialism implies collectivism, central planning, disregarding private property. I'm not against taxing the richest corporations to help the poor, but every other part of socialist mindset makes me sick.

Every single capitalist that I knew was full of ideas and plans that can be achieved with time and a lot of hard work.
Every single socialist I knew was also full of ideas that can be realized with the help of other people's money.

Socialists are like parasites that don't look at themselves and want to take from others. They want to help the poor, they want to make other people's lives better, but it's always at the expense of others. Capitalists want to build something from nothing. Socialists want to build something from something else. They don't want to create but transform.
75  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF Approval: Fueling Bullish Momentum? on: October 17, 2023, 06:38:20 PM
No government agency will prosecute anyone because we want to be free, we want to be uncontrolled, and we are willing to disobey government regulations. So they have no reason to protect those who oppose them? That is the price of freedom and we need to protect ourselves against market manipulation.
I don't think there will be any ETF approvals this year, so will it be another pump or dump by the sharks in the market? Let's wait and see what happens.

Does this mean you consider people buying bitcoin en masse a manipulation?
IF ETF gets approved and the price goes up by 100% to 50000 will you call that manipulation?

We all knew what's coming and people had literally years to buy bitcoin cheap before the ETF since the Grayscale application is really old. It's just that people weren't taking it seriously enough up until BlackRock stepped in and SEC lost in court.

People going all in because of ETFs is not manipulation.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife. on: October 17, 2023, 06:16:01 PM
I thought it would be very difficult to convince girls.

Looks like you underestimate girls. We are not that stupid. Wink

I haven't given any bitcoin as gifts to other people, nor have I received it.
Men prefer to give women things they can parade them in, like clothes and jewelry. It's like they have a doll that increases their own position when it looks good, so they make sure it looks and smells good.
I'd rather get bitcoin, but I'm not a materialist. I can do with gifts that show the partner thinks of you. A simple flower, or a ticket to a movie or a concert is sometimes the greatest gift.
77  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sad to see such manipulations in this market. on: October 17, 2023, 05:53:37 PM
I believe these manipulations made by a group of people or CEXs affect the inflow to the cryptocurrency. Small investors lost a lot of money yesterday on leverage or buying spot at top.

That's what you get for shorting bitcoin. I don't feel for anybody who shorts it, especially with leverage. The sheep got sheared and I can only hope you weren't among them.

If you were, learn that trading with leverage on crypto casinos like Bitmex is gambling. When you gamble you can expect to lose it all.
What if the ETF was really approved and you had a leveraged short position? You'd get destroyed too!

Quote
I believe this is a %100 manipulation

So sue the manipulators who spread the news. I wasn't affected because I don't short bitcoin and I don't trade on leverage and I don't care if it was fake news or not.

Quote
I also believe BTC will go back to 26.500 range soon.

That's because you're not a bitcoiner but a player who likes to bet short on crypto casinos.
I believe bitcoin will go to 30000 soon and I'm happy with the recent 27-20 thousand move.

78  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Terrorist kills Swedes in Belgium - still at large! on: October 17, 2023, 05:41:18 PM
It's unfortunate especially for the Swedes that were so happy to receive Muslim migrants on the behalf of the EU.

The Swedish society is very tolerant, to the point that they avoid confrontation. There are videos on youtube showing it where people start fight or harassment in front of random strangers and they run away, even when it's a woman that's being attacked and they're a group of men.

Eventually the Swedes will have to say no to migrants and do what Hungary and Poland are doing. Have you seen any terrorist attacks there?
79  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF Approval: Fueling Bullish Momentum? on: October 16, 2023, 10:46:46 PM
I'm now curious what will happen to Coin Telegraph, I am not sure if this is illegal or not. Because it's kinda a form of market manipulation. Cointelegraph is one of the biggest news entities in the cryptocurrency market. And I believe they are the reason why we just pump immediately to $30,000 and full retracement after it was confirmed that it is fake news.

Musk did an even worse thing when he announced that Tesla would be accepting bitcoin and that he bought some and then changed his mind and backtracked. Bitcoin dumped of course but Musk sold before the dump and before his announcement which is the definition of market manipulation.

If no government agency went after Musk then none will go after Coin Telegraph.

On the positive side there will be some new ETF deadlines coming up in a few hours. Maybe there will be another pump, this time for real.
80  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF Approval: FAKE NEWS! on: October 16, 2023, 09:57:58 PM
Allegedly its an intern fault lol. How convenient.  Roll Eyes

Yeah right! That was totally on purpose. Now, we just gotta figure out who's stacking their bags today.

But, imagine if the SEC actually approves a Bitcoin ETF today! No one would believe it after this.  Cheesy

I wonder why FTX people didn't think of it. They could always say that trading with customer's money was an intern's fault Cheesy

Who's stacking their bags?
When I was very young and someone said they smell a fart, the usual childish answer was "the one who smells produces."
Detectives like to say that the culprit is the person who benefited most from the crime.
Both of these explain this case pretty good Wink
