61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | FUNDING THE FUTURE WITH THE FUTURE OF CURRENCY on: February 05, 2019, 06:31:29 PM

Global Cell Med is honored to be chosen as one of the first recipients of the EMC2 Foundation’s 2018 Award for Science.

Global Cell Med is the only treatment for type 1 diabetes that is government approved and scientifically proven through peer reviewed clinical trials. Our treatment has an 80% success rate to reverse diabetes, substantially or completely eliminating the need for artificial insulin or other diabetic drugs.

We would like the bitcointalk and EMC2 communities to help us spread the word about our diabetes treatment. Any diabetic that is referred to us will receive our treatment in Nassau, Bahamas, for less than half the current price. To obtain more details please contact Mike Sayre at mike@globalcellmed.com.

The 50,000 in EMC2 is very approciated,

Michael Sayre
Dr. Alejandro Mesples

January 2019 - The Einsteinium Foundation (EMC2) is proud to announce the finalists for the first annual Einsteinium Awards. This year's winners are:

Minh Thang “Harry” Hoang - McGill University
Michael Sayre - Global Cell Med

The Einsteinium Awards celebrates innovative work across all areas of science. We aim to engage and foster a community devoted to scientific research as a long-term investment in our future and future of our planet.

The award is 100,000 EMC2 coins, which will be evenly split among our two winners. The EMC2 awards is funded directly by the EMC2 Foundation.

Dr. Thang Hoang has widely published, including six first author papers, his work as a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering under Professor David V. Plant’s supervision in the Photonic Systems Group at McGill University. His cutting-edge work on a novel and effective self-coherent transceiver using Stokes Vector modulation may impact global information traffic and allow for faster data connections.

Michael Sayre is the CEO of Global Cell Med, a biotech company specializing in a regenerative medicine approach to treating diabetes. The company has published its therapeutic strategy and is currently conducting clinical trials on patients with chronic Type 1 Diabetes, with very promising early results.

Our first annual award attracted a global pool of applicants with equally diverse backgrounds. This included an applicant in the social sciences from Georgia State University and a stem cell biologist from the First Moscow State Medical University.
The inaugural class has set an amazing example on what community based and open science can be. We look forward to our applicant pool next year. Interested parties should contact: projects@emc2.foundation to find out more.

Despite the need for research and development to spur innovative solutions for a host of urgent problems. Unfortunately, in most countries, public commitments for scientific research have continued to fall. However, the Einsteinium Foundation hopes to play a part in reversing that trend. Blockchain based funding for scientific research is an innovative means to accomplish that end. We are only at the beginning to see what this new type of funding will mean for science.

Press contact: Alexander Lucaci, Alexander.Lucaci@emc2.foundation

About the Einsteinium Foundation:
The Einsteinium Foundation is an official Non-Profit Organization (NPO), and the world's first NPO to be backed by cryptocurrency. The defining characteristics of the Einsteinium Foundation are its ongoing commitment to research and charitable missions throughout the world, and to the safeguarding, maintenance, and development of Einsteinium, an international digital currency built on a secure, decentralized open ledger, or blockchain.

Congrats to them for winning! Always like to see valuable research get noticed.

XVG is on the verge of collapse and going to 0. As far as I know, the github has been empty for more than a half year. How long do you think till this shitcoin busts?

Quite a bit longer then you will be involved in crypto I would think... Idiot.

afaiu (but this is not very far at all) it takes a full day for the coinbase to mature, so we will have to be patient?

Damn, you're right. Well, I'll still buy a few grin as soon as people can sell them.

64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and me (Hal Finney) on: January 11, 2019, 05:58:19 PM

Hats off to Hal, a true explorer and adventurer in the cyber world. Many of us who realized what a special intellect he possessed came to admire the man as well. Why do we always seem to loose the ones that really matter to the world while the others thrive?  Still mourning...

DO NOT INVEST IN THIS COIN

Rumor... <SNIP> Stupid moronic crap deleted for the benefit of others...

My response? Well, NOT being a member of the Dev Team, it won't be as professional as there post but, you should read it carefully anyway:

Please DO NOT waste our time with this juvenile crap. You really have to be pretty stupid, or, desperate, to make up this garbage and post it in public. Do yourself, and us, a favor, sell your 200 Doge coins and get OUT of crypto... Now!
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚒ Syscoin-Blockmarket 3.0-World 1st Decentralized Marketplace/Masternodes/Assets on: December 15, 2018, 01:10:35 AM
I am might be a t wrong forum asking for some help, drank too much tonight and tried to transfer my syscoin from my blocknet wallet and ended up putting the address of my stratis coin address, my balance shows zero but seems the coins are stuck somewhere on the blockchain, it’s showing me a message that it’s trying to send but it’s not going through, is there any way I can stop the transaction or kiss my few thousands coins goodbye. Any help would be appreciated.

Quick answer? Wait. If it was an address on a different Blockchain (not SYSCOIN) your coins should reappear in your wallet eventually. If it was a SysCoin address, and you don't know who owns it, your out of luck.

Anyone with more/better info please post...
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: December 06, 2018, 07:31:56 PM
Is there a reason why on Cryptopia and other exchanges deposits and withdrawals are not possible because of a Maintainance (on request of the devs)? Waiting since Sunday to be able to use these features but I can't find any information if there are problems in the network. Does anyone have more information?
They are probably upgrading the wallet to prepare for the upcoming planned hardfork.

Is there any information until when the upgrade will be conducted? I still can't deposit or withdraw on both exchanges I am signed up that list Komodo. I couldn't find any official info from Komodo with dates regarding completion of the upgrade :/
here is the article https://komodoplatform.com/upgrade-guide-dec-15/

Whats the use from announcing deal breaker features when the price sits in cavern? And can topple quite a bit before something can be done to drag it by hair to where it belongs. Announcements like this should be done when the time is right, and it does not seem that u reckon to make people buy at ostensibly low prices unless u are a silly pissoir sipper.

Your post makes no sense. Buying at low prices is the Holy Grail of a project like this. What do you think will happen to the value of your holdings when the price starts to climb again?

73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Blockfolio ~Bitcoin and Altcoin Portfolio App~ Android and iOS on: December 05, 2018, 05:26:00 PM
-sigh-

I KNEW this would happen. In my opinion, it sucks now. This was the best tracking app on the net prior to this "downgrade" what a disappointment. The style is too "cutesy", the font is way too small, the clean business like interface is gone in favor of the shaded banner that I just can't look at for any length of time also the 24hr up/down % indicator is unreadable with any color other than grey. I'm sorry, and this is just my opinion of course but, why did you have to ruin the clean business like interface?

I use your app exclusively to keep up on whats happening, as I'm mostly mobil. The font is way too small to read in a vehicle and difficult at my desk. Sorry to be so negative but, I'm not a "script kiddie" and the smooth cutsie design only hurts my eyes, the font is way too small. I understand you have limited screen real estate but, you could let us choose the size.  As I said, MY OPINION as a professional in the industry. I'm sure most won't agree and that's fine, flames will be ignored.

PS: Finally found the "News" section under "Explore"... Not where I expected it to be...
I've changed my mind a lil bit after some time I've spent using updated app. It is really slow and slow as hell, changing pairs takes hours same as adding funds. Changing exchanges doesn't work correctly for some tokens and I can't place assets in ascending order.
And by the way concerning design, we can change ui color but I really miss old-fashioned blockfolio white on black it was fast and looked "pro-like".

That makes two of us at least. I really hate using the new one, used to spend copious amount of time with the old one. Font is too small, total at screen top is way too small and percentage is unreadable due to useless background colored box. Please, fix this stuff or offer the old one as a "classic" version or something!! At the VERY LEAST, offer black as a background color for the top of the screen and increase the font size! Please!!!!

74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes 2.0 - Staking, CRISP Interest, DNotes Pay on: December 02, 2018, 08:53:28 PM
Really excited for the bot. Looking forward to the final release too. I think a tutorial video on how to install it and use it could be a great project for me over the next couple days.

A DNotes Bot? Way cool! Is it exchange specific or global API enabled?
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MINT] Official MintCoin thread. Green, sustainable and fast on: December 01, 2018, 09:03:15 PM
Hello Minting Friends!

As you may know, the Mintcoin-Central.com website has been down for a while, and the Website Administrator that runs this account has decided that it will be important to restart on a server running Solaris inside a virtual machine. This i3 server will be maintained with a RAID setup I'd like to discuss either in this thread or the old! The server will host the site, and will have to be protected by mirrors to stay online around the clock.

We can't mine Mintcoin so I will instead make sure the server that maintains the Mintcoin-Central.com website also hosts a Wallet maintained by the Managing Director, this will Mint 24/7 on a Windows 8.1 and will run in tandem.

Unless you want to drive yourself crazy, it would be best to lock the old thread so everyone comes here. Just a suggestion...

We all know we have the best tech and developers.  I think the rebranding will help a lot.  I'm loading up.  We are in the best boat, feel more confident than ever that Komodo will be the big mover in 2019.
Not the best, but top-notch team and tech, for sure.
In KOMODO, I believe, strongly believe in them all.

Not the best? Just curious, who do you think is better?
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [$XVG] VERGE [POW][MultiAlgo][BLACKHOLE][Entire Line of TOR/i2P Resources] on: December 01, 2018, 08:41:12 PM
First time in Verge space and I like it a lot so far. Its so undervalued right now. Bull is around a corner.

I truly hope that you are joking. It's a public secret that this project is hoax. Also, it's the definition of shitcoin. Of course, there are people willing to gamble with their money in order to make a quick buck, despite they are aware of the risks.

I second that.  This coin is dead.  Who is the developer???  Oh ya, He remains unknown.  What new developments are happening?  Nothing.  This project doesn't exist anymore.  Move on people.  Newbies, stay away.

Everyone knows who the developers are, they are quite public and XVG is doing quite well. Where do you trolls come from anyway? Didn't your mothers tell you it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt?

Hi All,

Just a very quick update on where things are at with Fedora.

First up - FED Gold Launch Notes
the Fedora Gold chain has been live for just over two months now (following Sep 17 launch).  Kind of a lot has happened in the intervening time.  We have launched a (voluntary) swap, based on the sentiment expressed by the bulk of people in various social channels and in private discussion.

<more content elided . . .>

We'll also do our best to update more frequently here - but please keep sharing and also take us to town if we piss you off. You'll probably notice that we don't really offend that easily - and if we offend you inadvertently sincere apologies! Cheesy

Our most active social links are:

Cheers!

Excellent! Thanks for the comprehensive update!

Hi RJ!

Many thanks for that Smiley  Not sure if I've posted the FED coin explorer recently, but this ugly IP address will let folks click through to an (even uglier) explorer:

FED Coin Explorer: http://34.211.248.114

When we get a spare couple of minutes we'll style it up  Cheesy

Cheers,

Rome wasn't built in a day, don't worry, as long as it works that all that matters right now.

I've held CLOAK since the beginning, been through all the crap and changes and I can tell you this, this team has their game on for sure. The way you have structured the operation with different reps in various countries is genius. Great marketing gentlemen, nice work.

Question: Do you have a list of current merchants that accept CLOAK both online and real world? Especially in North America?

Like many projects, we have been privileged to attract the attention of a number of attacks since launch.  Focus on technical defence has been our #1 priority, which occasionally means less time for forum discussion.  An interesting stat was that our last attack tried about 20 times the hash power of our network and still failed miserably  Cheesy  Our CryptoNight 7 Variant algo winning the day on each occasion

We have continued refining the algo throughout this time, so in spite of the background noise the FED Gold network performance is pretty nice (typically 3 seconds or less).

Secondly - Source Code & Builds
if you wish to dig into the code and/or grab yourself a linux wallet or a miner - please get it direct from the official project repo: https://github.com/jojapoppa/fedoragold.  NEVER use a pre-compiled wallet from any other source - bogus code is a common attack vector exploited by various unsavoury types.

Mining is recommended through Youpool - drop into the Telegram (link below) to get in touch with them.  Our soon to be released GUI wallets will also have in-wallet mining - a core part of our vision.  Provision of a means for the ordinary user to essentially earn from the wallets is part of our goal.

Third - Exchanges
Altilly.com is the first exchange we are listed on. You can trade FED gold there and also swap Tips -> FED if you feel inclined.  They may have experienced some limited tech issues but they are good people and keen to resolve. We are happy to liaise with them on your behalf if that helps.

We are in active negotiation with several more exchanges. It's well known that Coinexchange are working on integrating FED - they don't have an exact date but we hope within weeks.

Finally - Ongoing
we will shortly be launching a new thread that is dedicated to Fedora Gold.  We will advise here when it is live, so that FED Gold discussion can be managed separately to Tips talk.

We'll also do our best to update more frequently here - but please keep sharing and also take us to town if we piss you off. You'll probably notice that we don't really offend that easily - and if we offend you inadvertently sincere apologies! Cheesy
