That's also not a valid question because no one here can explain why COMIT protocol does what it does. My question was aimed to find out how ARK is trying to separate itself from other similar technologies since I wasn't aware of COMIT until fairly recently. I'm not here asking for investing advise, am I? Don't assume things. I may have a noob question, but I'm sure there are others here who are wondering the same thing. People come here to find information about ARK's technology. "ARK on sale buy now" "I like this, when should I buy?" If you know anything about software programming, then you should realize that timelines are always approximate. Utilizing the word "a lie" is an overstatement. A lie is an indication that someone intended to intentionally manipulate you. What we dealing with here are unforeseen circumstances which are constantly present while coding. You don't scream at a video game company to release a delayed game with a flaw. You might fuss that your fav game release date is delayed but you understand it's so because they have to work out kinks. The dev team has been constant with the update, you should appreciate it cos that sign of a dependable team. Before you lose your shit anymore, you should go read up on software development, then maybe you can appreciate the nuisances involved. The problem with most crypto investors, is they forget that this space is similar to other investment medium. I don't see anyone buying a tesla stock then screaming and yapping if mass production of announced line is delayed. It's all the same dynamic.Ok... now I see that there are not much sense here... Do you know what a deadline is? Do you know what for, developers provide investors with a roadmap? Do you know, why almost every roadmap states Q1, Q2 and so on instead of month? This thing going on with this project HAS NOTHING to do with soft development. Right now, I'm 100% sure, that Devs just have absolutely nothing to show us instead of some beautiful (NO) pictures. Why am I so sure? Well, have a look at all the news came out since ICO was finished. Some meet ups, some nice words about what they are doing. AND NO FREAKING PROOF!!!! Am I asking about a finished product here??? HELL NO!!! I'm asking about stupid TEST NET!!!! Where we all could take part!!! BUT What the dev told us? can i copy the mintcoin wallet file from the internal drive of the broken computer to another computer and open it from a second computer to remove the coins before i take the computer to the shop to get a motherboard replaced...? i don't want to do anything that could risk corrupting the wallet files... not sure what to do here... if he has to order a proprietary motherboard he would expect me to leave it in the shop a few days... i'd rather not even mention that there are "sensitive files" or "coin balances" on the computer to the repair tech... i like to keep that stuff as need-to-know as possible ... plus even with me watching, how would i really know hes not cloning the drive or installing something on it without me knowing... now i know im being paranoid ... but i want to be careful here... lets say hypothetically these coin balances are enough that if someone knew where to find them they could possibly be a tempting target...
All you have to do is copy the "wallet.dat" file and save it in a safe place. This contains balance and any private keys or passwords. After copying off the broken PC make sure it's safe and delete the original from the bad computers hard drive. Make sure you empty the deleted items folder contents as well. I would also delete any traces of the Mintcoin wallet so nobody can see it was installed. Make sure you copy the correct file if you have any other cryptos installed. When all is said and done, reinstall the Mintcoin wallet, let it sync up and then overwrite new wallet.dat file with your old one. Restart and your coins will be there if you did everything correctly. Most you would need to do is a "rescan" and we can walk you through that if needed. Just remember, the wallet.dat IS your money, don't loose it! |

Let's say you had a bunch of mint loaded onto a wallet and you hadnt yet opened up the private keys and then all of a sudden the computer broke and you dont just want to take your computer to the shop (and thus give them access to your wallet)?
So, there is no password on the wallet, not good. There really isn't much you can do from a security stand point except stand behind the tech and make sure your wallet isn't opened. Is the hard drive OK? If the problem is hardware like power supply or motherboard or screen, pull the drive first. Of course you could explain the issue and ask that you be present when the work is done. Can't think of much else... |

I'm sure nobody here is happy about it but, most aren't screaming at the top of their lungs. We understand the need for the delay. The projects that launch on time seem to spend months fixing the things they should have fixed BEFORE launching. Do you really need to sell so badly that you can't wait 60 days? Perhaps you aren't cut out for crypto investing, think about it... Oh, and loose the word "scam" it really doesn't have much meaning anymore and just looks and sounds cheap. If you really need to make public accusations, please use more intelligent language. |

I highlighted in first place, the whole process of using one coin and then re-issuing another coin based on same is not a good idea and highlight the greed of devs. Moreover developers keep doing the same thing multiple times, again and again. This process is not for funding the project its for cheating people and getting money from them as they know this has been successful before and so it will be in future.
Moreover with Whales (belonging to NXT team) buying over all ICO tokens and apart from that 50% of entire project tokens Devs are keeping with themselves, they will just dump all this IGNIS on poor traders who will be busy buying it in hope of getting rise and profit.

The answer to renew vs not (and relative interests of current vs future holders) will become apparent in the process.
