I read that they are investigating criminal price manipulations over Bitcoin. Manipulation of prices is really possible ? This happened before ?
Yes price manipulation is possible. These are being executed by whales. they interfere with market behavior which may mislead the other investors. I believe this kind of events must be thoroughly investigated because this might ruin the integrity of Bitcoin and this is punishable by the law. yes for me also it should be investigated by who? We are all anonymous here as of now so even the government agency would be hard for them to investigate it specially if the whales can play with the flow of the market. It will be hard to track though wallets, but maybe its true that cryptocurrency are being used for drug laundering but there are a lot of people today that are being helped by cryptocurrency on their financial problems so government should not ban bitcoins because everyone will be affected. The market demand is low and the value of Bitcoin reached at 6.8k dollar but today the demand rate dropped more and the price dropped is 6.1k dollar. A common person can afford it very easily which makes the market recording a big traffic and which will show its reaction with a quick response soon. With huge investment and with the demand of people the market will manipulate soon and quickly. |

A person can invest for short term and for long term but we have to choose currency which is favorable in these cases. The news in term of development are actually decent, with LN getting closer to a release, so I think this is just temporary.  This is will be just temporary and not permanent. Most of us, especially those of us that have been into this for a long time now already knows that this is a regular thing that happens almost all the time. And when it happens, after sometime, before the end of the year, the price will recover. So the best thing is just to HODL as long as you can and wait for the price to recover. Because the market now are decreasing and bitcoin and even altcoins down you can buy more coins now because the price is more cheaper and if the price will grow again you can gain more profit. The income now in trading is decreasing too but once the price increase you can get more money.

Previously ICO's are good to invest especially when some celebrities are getting involved to promote their investment. but as the time pass by, Its getting sour because most ICO's this days are scam, You had to scrutinize carefully the ICO before you can find a trustworthy project:)
The mistake virtually most new investors usually make till date is to think there is a lot celebrity endorsements has to do with the success of a project but I would rather pay no single attention to that at all. I’m not planning my future by relying on Bitcoin, that’s funny. Bitcoin is not even my main job, there are lots of good jobs out there that are far much better than cryptocurrencies.
I’m an entrepreneur and I can survive without Bitcoin. Bitcoin is just like my second job that I do on my free time, especially whenever I get home, just to keep busy. So I don’t plan my future to rely on Bitcoin. If you’re planning such, then I will advise you to desist from that and make better plans for yourself.

In my careful reading of these forums I have learned about this situation, perhaps because of the investors and miners who hold lots of bitcoin is the reason why the price of bitcoin decreases because they sell it high bitcoin price and it's great and great.
Bitcoin dropped few weeks ago and rose again after some time. There was even a rise in the values of Bitcoin again. This is a good sign and this good sign leads people to invest more in Bitcoin. More investment, rising price. Besides, the current year has been considered as the year when Bitcoin cross $30000 and this level is great enough for the current holders of Bitcoin. We can not say about the market and the constant drop of the Bitcoin because the market is totally unpredictable and may be the value jumps in few days or may be tomorrow start its increase trend. The price has dropped at 6.4k dollar and this is due to the low buying rate of the Bitcoin which resulted in the low rate of Bitcoin. We may see the future improvement very soon as we have seen many recoveries in the past which may follow this time by the Bitcoin. |

Dear friend, So far, I know for kind of earning money from bitcoin and altcoins. I start trading when bitcoin 17000. until now, I lost a haft of money. ICO I have win any ICO. But I did not invest to much. Lending I think have not join anyone. But I think in the first time you can get profit from lending. But no more later. And now, bounty, I still reading and research information about it. No one help or support. One day, hundreds of campaign public. But dont know which one scam or good. I am distempered. Need more advice from you here You should try joining bounty campaigns. I am participating in blog/content campaigns only but it is very useful so far. Initially I was participating in every campaigns but now a days I have decided to participate only in those bounty campaigns which have some ranking. Other seniors have elaborated briefly as well. Rather than the OP even asking us, I am sure he should know what he is capable of and what exactly he can offer. Bounties really does not require so much as long as you have a social media page with good number of quality followers or you have the ability to write articles and so on, but at the end, I am sure only the OP will really know exactly what he has to offer to be able to get anything at all and we cannot be the ones making those decisions for him. |

That's a always a concern mate, especially since the market and all its transactions are heavily inclined with the use of the internet. Thus, we can't stay away from the fact that many shady personalities will take advantage of the how they can profit from the market, unfortunately, in the expense of other people who are working. And I would say yes that they can really chance the landscape of the market, especially if a "hack" would affect a big part of the market. I agree. Hackers are everyone's concern. These bad people trying to steal our accounts and our money. It is really our responsibility to keep our accounts safe from these hackers. We should be very careful about it to avoid being hacked because these people are everywhere. It is sure our responsibility. It is just quite unfortunate that a lot of people take security of their accounts with levity and rather than studying ways and making use of those ways to beef up their account, they nonchalantly allow those hackers to crawl in and take everything. The security measures are there for everyone, and it is important to always make use of them, and it would be utter carelessness for anyone who still at this age does not know how to keep their accounts secured. |

I used to play poker online. As i have temember, i was pregnant wiyh my first child at that moment. At first, i was just like to ease my boredom since i have a delicate pregnancy and was not allowed to go out at home regularly, So i tried looking for online games. But the things is i am sort of liking the game and almost got addicted into it. Been experiencing so many sleepless nights which is bad in my condition and in a day instead of sleeping, i was still hooked with in front of my laptop and keep on playing. Until i realized that it is not just bad for me but most importantly to the baby inside my tummy, so in an instant i quit.
Hard story to believe though.  No one can quit from gambling instantly once they addicted to it but you may think too much about the baby will help you to get out of it. Loneliness is is also an important reason of getting addicted to something at that time you were spend too much time on online gambling resulted addiction for you but luckily you get out for a good cause. No doubt in your saying that no one can quit gambling instantly for good. He can’t quit it even if he wants to quit that’s why call it as an addiction. I am kinda worried about one factor - rate of Bitcoin adoption. It seems like adoption slowed down significantly during last year, and sometimes even reverted (Steam is no longer accepting BTC)
Metcalfe's law states that the value of a network increases as the number of users on said network increases. So the number of users we have, affect directly the price BTC
Adoption is somewhat stagnant - no major company is talking about accepting bitcoin as a payment method - because they know that people are not willing to spend their coins anyway.
I am worried that "hodling' mentality of Bitcoin users, in the end, will be a very big problem and the reason for low BTC adoption.
I think those two things are different aspects, in one hand you are right when you say that business have stopped adopting bitcoin and in fact we seem to see the opposite, the adoption by new users has slowed down somewhat due to the crash but it was very good before it, the main problem for business were the high fees and I sent a transaction some days ago and the fees were very cheap comparing them to a few months ago and this is going to improve when the lightning network is working, so we will see more adoption in the future it is just going to take longer than we anticipated. Negative speculation will discourage people and they will stay away of the market of cryptocurrencies due to the negative news. On the other hand positive speculation in the market will encourage people and more people to take the ways straight towards this market. This improves the mind of people and brings increase in the demand factor which further improves the value of Bitcoin and other coins. |

beside cryptocurrencies i invest in most of the mutual funds and share market i feel they will grow in a time when the market responds positively
I am not in very much favor of investing of the money at more than one places and that too at the same time. it is not suitable thing to do as this takes more energies and that you must put in lot more efforts to manage the things in a better way. However, if you think you can do that, then it is better to go for investment like that of the real estate or something which can make you earn more money. |
