601  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: November 20, 2013, 02:46:47 PM
It appears to be correct.  The highest hashing listed at the pool showed over 200GH/s at one point.  I will try to run it a bit longer and try to show more average out number but so far, Bitmain's claims of the specs to be great! Number seems to match or exceed their specta.

It does get warm but not HOT.

The unit does not come with the power suply so, I will see if I can make up an easy guide for the new eyes how to use the Computer power supply to run the miner. I'm using Antex 450w and it runs smooth so far.

Added the Power Consumption Picture to my previous post.  Also added the miner's photo in Japan dated 11/20/2013.  As you all know, Bitmain is a Chinese Company.  Now the miner is in Japan, too!

Here is more detailed, slower videos.

Some of you called the trailer cheesy...    (I can't give you 1 minute of your time refund.  Watch it with your own RISK!   Grin Grin Grin

Photo wise, you can download it from

for the next week or so, then I will delete them.  (However, you can view them all at https://www.facebook.com/review.asic )

Please wait their Price Announcement!  My guess is in about 4-6 days, a few Hero Members will receive the testing units directly from Bitmain.  I'm sure they will talk about the unit's pros and cons from their perspective as well.

Here are after 15-hour operation of the Bitmain Antminer 180GH/S machine at BTCGUILD. Temperature and hashing seem to be stable!

Here are the actual chips.  Non-branded chips were the prototype/demo/testing versions at the lab.

Power Consumption.  (While hashing at over 180 GH/S)  Antec Neo Eco 450W Power Supply Unit in Use for this photo.

Miner was in this box when I received it.  Inside the box was padded all the way.

Bitmain AntMiner 180GH/S in Action (Tokyo Japan, Los Angeles California)

This is the BTC GUILD Screen.  These miners were fresh out of the production line in the burn-test.

AntMiner has it's own Web Based Control panel that you can configure the miners the way you want it.  (One of the screen will show your hashrate, miner temperature, pool info and others.

When I was there, they were very seroius about the quality control of their units.  Many people were assigned to do their hands and visual check and testing to ensure highest quality as possible.  It reminded me the good ol'e days Quality Control from the Japanese Manufactures.

Production Lines...

TO: ckolivas,

I think I saw your testing unit.  If I remembered right, these units left the factory together while I was there!!!

If there is another rising companies but questionable, give me a suggestion which one I should go visit next.

604  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: November 19, 2013, 08:01:11 AM
This trip was specific to run the myth buster gig!  Exchanged some BTC to cash and hopped on the airplane. (By the way, there are a few travel agencies who take BTC payment to book air, hotels, rails and the busses.)

also, please understand, Bitmain gave me full unrestricted access to the office and the factory and even into the live production line to verify the Pcb and chips the workers and the machines were processing were their products, in exchange of not releasing business sensitive information.  That's why it will take some time for me to make sure no faces or name tags are seen by the public. Even gave me access to the quality control area where they were burn testing the fresh off the line miners.  They weren't mining on their own. They are fully intended to ship those unit as soon as they can with highest level of quality control they can provide.  they are making sure all 64 ASIC are working on each unit as well as the voltage and other basic checks.

Sorry for not providing the detailed photos or video from non-manufacturing person's perspective.  Sorry, I thought these images and even the short videos will show the production was real for people who knows enough to say it's a fake machine or not the right automation to produce ASIC Chip related items.  The video was uploaded in a hurry and the video was a trailer to the later additional videos and photos.  (I can't just upload all the videos and photos without verifying any privacy concerned info attached to them.  I don't want to feel guilty after one of the employees get hurt from the accidental release.)

Hey guys, relax!  I could have waited for a day or two to upload the raw images after verifying each for the personal identifying stuff on the pictures or video.  I chose this way to upload it without the wait.  Now I'm out side of the internet censorship, give me a few hours to sit down and select a few!

My poor decisions! Sincere Apology!  Now I had a small nap, I will run the second upload!

I can NOT provide the prices for their two products.  They will officially announce them when they are ready to take the payment in exchange of the in-stock product!

$1GH/s is a dream far away from the reality. At least this year. yes, sometimes next year, it has to hit that price range for the miners to be profitable.   If you are in the chip industry, you probably have idea how long it will take to have the final chips and make it all work as a whole.

Thank you for the harsh comments but now I know that's what you guys want!  So good deal, thanks!

But please don't expect other companies to release that much details while in production or pre-sale condition.  Some companies do consider these as Corporate Secret!!!

The chips in the video after identifying the AntMiner is real, their chips are all branded and the pcb are branded as the video shows.

For the last video, I will take the fall for not making all happy! But please consider extream hours involve just to get to the place crossing a few international boarders to get there on a very short notice. Navigating the real china where I speak no Chinese. My mind was still in a shock when the official Taxi drive dispatched by the hotel told me he was taking me to the Hong Kong International Airport but instead, took me to other place, stuffed me in an unmarked van,  them dump me while the driver drove away with the suitcase, then thinking g I just got robed my miner.  changing to Hong Kong SIM card to access VPN to upload the video. Then after crossing g the Chinese border into Hong Kong side, got snagged by the driver just outside the door pushed into the van telling me something but not able to understand what he was telling me. But I realized it was the same driver and he had my suitcase.  I was a happy camper at that time! I will go get the energy drinks and make it my priority for the next 12 hours!

Met the great team of dedicated engineers and the managers with 110% over charged in positiveness in life.  I don't regret the trip and I had good time but the lesson learned, "Better know the basic language of the host country!!!"  English is not going to get you out of the dodo.  At the end, it was a scarily not knowing what was going on, the cab driver actually did a huge favor by have me delivered to Hong Kong side by how they did it!

Payonix and Bitmain and 2 others in Hong Kong were too good to be true so we decided to see if they were real. After the brief check up, Bitmain appeared to be very real but getting the blunt of BFL after effect , we thought we could do some public service by providing info to public as the 3rd party, so you guys can decide to spend money on them or not.

I better cut this blah blah blah things and get what all of you want to see!

Excuse me for the spelling, the tablet's auto correction is killing me here

605  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: November 19, 2013, 12:28:24 AM
In a few days, I will post video, photos and the screenshots of the miner in action.  Actually I have one of the unit in my hand.  I will run the test far far away from China to show you they did delivered the working unit!

If you are still in denial, place the order, then give me the right to take over your units. (I will reimburse you for that!  Grin Grin Grin  NOT!
I would love to do that but that would be unethical as I know what their miners can do!)

Stay tuned, they will blow your mind in the future as well!

PS: Please pay close attention of the chis and the PCBs.  They have the logo ad some with printed date on them.

I snapped the photo of a mountain consists of the packaging boxes but that will be the off limit as it will show too much info related to their business operations.  They will make the official announcement in the coming days.

The machines are hashing as high as in 190's range.  One photo shows 179GH/S.

tell me what you need to see to believe it!

PMs are welcome!

606  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: November 19, 2013, 12:13:44 AM
Hi guys,

Thank you for the support.  Here you go!

http://youtu.be/puHeCjNM6dc

Congrad to the hard working Bitmain Team for bringing this miner to a realty.  For the past 48 hours, they were working non-stop & slept may be 3 hours a day or less.  I saw the engineers crashed and passed out on the factory hallway or some were working and discussing the business but  just faded out and passed out for a while. (those guys had high spirits the whole time with a great team work!!!

In China, Youtube is not accessible.  I had the VPN set up thinking thats how I was going to bypass that issue, the internet I had access to was blocked from the VPN use.  Now worked around the issues.

Their website is purposely off-line until the day they will take orders for the packaged up & ready to ship miners.  They now do have those units and I saw them and saw the units fresh out of the production lines went to the quality control and the burn-in tests.

Let me sort the photos and videos to make sure none of them have any personal identifying info or sensitive business info on them.

Just hang in there!  They are doing thing the right way.  Trying to push out a high quality miners.

Since, we decided to run the myth buster role playing, we decided to brand the videos with the domain name.

If this helped you in any way, please consider donations for the future myth buster (early scam/loss prevention) measure we are trying to do.  2013 was a brutal year for the miner investment with the pre-orders.

607  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WTF Cointerra on: November 18, 2013, 04:40:07 AM
See, no reasons to panic without the confirmation or official notice from the vendor.  Actually I was shocked they posted on Sunday Night!  Good Job!

Maybe someone was destructed by the office lady's you know what   Grin Grin Grin
608  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is it still worth getting a 5 GH/s Bitcoin Miner BFL? on: November 18, 2013, 03:34:20 AM
It can be a good deal as long as you can get the miner at below what you'll earn from mining  Grin

I think you have a great idea for sure!

Now BitPay is getting more common in the USA Market, soon, Bitcoin will be like Paypal.  People will feel more confortale to use as a medium of payment.

Seems now is the best time to take that advantage instead of being the follower, be the leader in the market!!!

Fairness do prevail
610  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WTF Cointerra on: November 18, 2013, 01:31:10 AM

I'm sure lots of people do work durting those hours but i was being an smart A$$
611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin linked to drugs on: November 18, 2013, 01:26:17 AM
Don't get so hyped up from breaking the link between DRUG and BTC.

Real Money is allways linked to DRUG.  It's the nature.  No one can stop it.  If someone wants to go buy Dope, they are going to do it one way or the other.

If I have Chinese Yuen and want to go buy drug, I'm sure there is a market in China that will sell me some.

USD is famous for contaminated with cocaine and other drugs.  Do you throw USD away because it was used for the drug trade a year ago?  (Hey, if so, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!  I'll TAKE YOUR UNWANTED USD!!!)

612  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how does coinbase make money? on: November 18, 2013, 01:22:09 AM
They are the exchange platform.  They make money from the service fees of helping you buy and sell (finding the person to buy/sell) your coins.

The 1st month on the new account, the wait time is a killer, but at least you can withdraw USD into the FIAT Domestically for the Americans!!!
613  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin to hit 1000? on: November 18, 2013, 01:18:17 AM
It's getting closer and closer.  Didn't think making to $500 range this fast, but it did already.  We are half way there!!!  YAY!!!
614  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mt. Gox withdrawals. on: November 18, 2013, 01:16:00 AM
Welcome to the world of BTC!!!

It's like Gold Mining.  It's a risky market, but there are chances you could hit the BTC.  There are lots of traps as well, if you don't do your homeworks ahead of time.

This forum has so much collaborated information to help you make a bit more educated guess!

Hope you didn't have substantial numbers of BTC or Cash held in there.

615  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Is payonix.com a legitimate AISC H/w manufacturer in Australia? on: November 18, 2013, 01:02:32 AM
Hey,

I'm back..  (Sushi is back!)

With very limited info given from Payonix, I diverted my trips to other ASIC Companies for now.

You can call me "Shill" but there is a company that is about to release IN-STOCK ASIC Miners and NO PREORDER.  This one, I'm planning to run the 24-hour burn test from other countries to show their miners are real.  Please Stay Tuned!

Oh, if you friend request me on our Facebook, as soon as they are to release the miners for sale, I'll message all of you guys!

Here you can see I'm not associated in AU or China or Hong Kong.

Page 6 of https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=330665.0

I'm serious about providing a bit more solid Scam/Myth Buster Public Service

I am schedule to speak with Andrew later in the afternoon.  (He didn't sound Asian.  He sounded PURE WHITE YOUNG GUY)

EDIT: Forget this section....
[I would say, wait for their Demo today or some updates from a few guys who are planning to be there in person.  At this point, they are not taking any more orders. So, we can't lose any more NEW MONEY into this if it wasn't legit.  So let's just wait and see! I would love to go there to verify today, but I'm still a bit away from AU as I have another appointment to go visit the factory in China.]

Moved to the 20th...  I see...  If they offer REFUND and the chance to Re-Order on the 20th, TAKE THE REFUND NOW, and once it's confirmed, REORDER!!!!!

If the demo is on the 20th, I guess I could be there... but covering the cost on my own could be a bit of concern knowing their schedule changes so often... (self funding to go viisit Payonix is out of the question for now  Angry )

Any Donation?  I will go there if it was paid for!  I'll take the award ticket  Grin
616  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC-E Gone? on: November 18, 2013, 12:42:52 AM

I can't access the website.  Are they under DdOS?

or something a lot more serious?

617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Speculative Home/ Auto insurance in Bitcoin on: November 18, 2013, 12:38:36 AM
Most of our wallet is really limited at home and 50% seems very attractive.  You'll get lots of people switching over but, when it comes to sustainabilities, I believe it will be depend on how you payout the claims.

If customers feel they were stiffed out on car accident claims, home owner's insurance claims, they will automatically assumed, because of the cheap discount, the service was based on "what you paid & what you get"  then, you may lose the chunk from the initial signup, but you may still get more people who just want the basic and now they knows your insurance do payout some.

There is a big risk of assuming the values to continue to go up.  I hope this is the case but may be half & half?  Half cashed out FIAT Funds and other half in BTC hoping that the value will go up to pat the funds?

or come up with a little more convention side.  Write the policy entirely in BTC.  So there is no exchange rate confusion.  If you buy 2 BTC anual premium on the homeowner's insurance, in case of the total loss, you'll receive 500BTC and such.

This way, it may not fall under the regular insurance regulation depends on where you are at because you are not paying out in money.
