If you are talking about accepting credit cards for bitcoin, you're gonna get raped.

I think he is attempting to sell prepaid cards.
602  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Price Predictions on: October 09, 2011, 02:19:42 PM
The difficulty will gradually trickle down until only the most profitable miners and the enthusiasts are still mining.
Basically just Mt Gox, who I assume will just end up buying out pools, Vlad, and Google mining with Solar Power.

Noob question, where does one find a proper place to put a .conf file in Windows 7?   The c:/users folder does not seem to have an equivalent directory for this.
604  Other / Off-topic / Re: SCAVENGER HUNT - 10BTC PRIZE! on: October 09, 2011, 07:15:03 AM
All I needed was a sponsor.

Nobody is fun lol, this was a good idea.    I think you should try again tomorrow, but in the Newbies section, which is really a great mixture of new people and old people in new user names.
605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin Scamming Business is Booming! on: October 09, 2011, 07:07:22 AM
Why is it when anyone mentions "scam" in a subject line there ends up being an infomercial a couple of posts down the thread.
Scammers handbook, take advantage of those in the most need.

People making threads about a scam?  Must mean that a lot of people are being scammed and need a new product/service to replicate the scamming service.  Rinse, repeat, until we are all back to using just Mt Gox for the final end all scam to Bitcoin when we are had again.

CoinHunter, I am sorry for not only the issues that your family has obviously had to deal with, but on top of that bullshit that the internet brings and how that can sometimes translate into real life stress over text on a screen, like these issues, though already were public, were not necessarily meant for us.  I wish you and your family well.
608  Economy / Goods / Re: No prescription, no hassles- bitcoins for meds. Keep it simple. on: October 09, 2011, 06:09:06 AM
Do you have the ability to obtain Omeprazole, 20mg or 40mg capsules?

If so, pricing structure please.  Thanks Smiley

I must say, I do find it interesting this is the guy who made Bitcoin Flower http://www.bitcoinflower.com/ and he does not accept Bitcoin as donation, color me confused.
610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trade-Btc.com Brand new Bitcoin Exchange, buy sell and send Bitcoins! on: October 09, 2011, 06:01:39 AM
No, that is not acceptable. If you want me to reopen the investigation, it must be requested to be sent to a unique Bitcoin address. Otherwise, anything you receive after that post on that address will be considered a payment by Trade-Btc.com.
If it is 2.2 exactly, I sadly don't care who gave it to me, I can't imagine why anyone else but him would.  But I do see your point.  I would like this to be reopened so I can at least get the 2.2 that he said he would get back to me after all this badness had already started.

He can use 1Eeya8PUji6kFVwQYwgwrKvv7gHkk6GAdg which you can see has been used once in July http://blockexplorer.com/address/1Eeya8PUji6kFVwQYwgwrKvv7gHkk6GAdg

Edited address above back to sig address, no ticket is open and it would be easier if it just goes to that wallet.

Hey, what the fuck, I never got my 2.2 btc out! lol  Case not closed!!

Trade-BTC, you PM'd me.  If you would like to just close my account on the site and send 2.2 to the address in my signature, that would be acceptable by me.
612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Around the World on: October 09, 2011, 04:48:40 AM
Am I getting trolled/trolling?
I think you are.  Or you both have different ideas on what is being worked on and promoted.

To add to benefits of separate channels.  Think of you jumping into an IRC channel to discuss Bitcoin in a general sense, not even for just your region, you would still have to deal with dialect from other regions, which visually could be easy or hard to filter out depending on your language, on top of just that lack of closeness and focus a smaller room can bring.  Hell, all this IRC talk makes me want to download mirc, it's been so long.    Either way, I believe there is already a big Bitcoin room or a few bigger Bitcoin rooms, why can't we just have all the channels Smiley

I see a reply came up while replying,

"your strategy seems to be obsessed with manipulating a trivial aspect of an unimportant mechanism in a way that will actually defeat your own purposes"

Oh jesus, Obsessed, lol

614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Business cards to present Bitcoin to Occupy groups. on: October 09, 2011, 04:25:14 AM
The only thing I don't like about giving out coins is that most of the people we hand out cards to are not going to redeem them or even figure out how to.

I think there was talk about the ability to check the numbers on the cards to see if they are used or not, that way refunds from donations can be given.  I think, I'm too lazy to search.

I dig the idea behind your card, just a straight up card for info.  I think the back of the card is actually perfect, and I would just take that front of the card and organize the words differently rather than have the keywords kind of spread across.  If that text had a more uniform look, I think that is the only thing throwing me off personally as far as the card design.
615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Around the World on: October 09, 2011, 03:56:44 AM
"than one attempting to connect people who have common goals."

by dividing them into hundreds of different channels...  are you still not seeing the futility here? Smiley  like i said, i think the premise is a good one.  the implementation needs to be corrected.

I thought about it, I had a much longer reply, but honest it is not necessary.   I do not see the futility of many groups working separately toward a common goal.   With those separations representing not only possible changes in language, but of course law and politics, on top of a million other region specific issues that it would be best to have teams focused on those issues rather than a whole group seeing a million issues that do not all apply to each other.  Isn't this why terrorism works?  Because they do it in cells or something.
616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Around the World on: October 09, 2011, 03:36:33 AM
I guess we'll see then, I honestly have no clue how useful or not this endevour is, but I know there are a million other threds to hate and diss on at Bitcointalk than one attempting to connect people who have common goals.
617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [PRESS RELEASE] Free State Project Now Accepting Bitcoins on: October 09, 2011, 03:32:46 AM
Is there a number or estimate on how many people are on their mailing list?
618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Around the World on: October 09, 2011, 03:24:45 AM
So you've decided the way to promote a global currency, possibly the first with true potential to break through traditional economic/ethnic divisions, is to divide everyone in little separate groups based on.. these same borders (mostly)?  And you're going to do this using a medium (IRC) which is also global and communal by design, until will apply your scheme to it, then it becomes segmented and divided and just plain silly.

This will fail.

Time to step back and rethink.  A project in country X will have many ideas and experiences useful to a project in country Y.  Creating divisions along political borders just because... politic borders exist i guess?  is not going to help bitcoin.

that'll be $0.02

Calm down their buddy, one world changing revolution at a time.  First we change the money, then we can eliminate those invisible lines that divide us all.      IRC is an established way for people to communicate instantly, regions help organize language barriers, I'm not seeing this as negatively as you at all.

Why would a business accept that risk?  For what benefit?
What kind of accountability would Bit Pay have in worst case scenarios?   I honestly don't know if they state this or not.
