What's coming boys and girls?

Hey, I'm just taking your arguments to their logical conclusions.  "Users want fast confirmations", and I0coin has the fastest confirmations, so that means I0coin is the best network.  Soon everyone will join it.

I think you have a higher post count in this thread than me. Thanks for your SolidCoin support. Smiley
603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 30, 2011, 01:26:11 PM
Ya don't sweat it Coinhunter, a great many people like what you are doing and support you 100% ... if this were all hype you wouldn't have groups like Ruxum and several honest merchant class organizations jump on board the system so quick so there is nothing you need to prove outside of these facts.  Case in point, Ruxum passed over the I*Coin systems and as far as I can tell have no current intent to pick either of them up.  Namecoin while there was good intent is in a bit of a pickle, that we should see soon that Solidcoin has solved with the algorithm to ramp down difficulty.

Yes thanks for your support , and the many others who also support the project. Smiley

I know many are afraid to show it on the forum here because they don't like the "heat" but on IRC, pms, emails and my talks with businesses there is a lot of support there. I'm used to dealing with heat, with running software businesses it's common dealing with a few customers that take things a bit seriously sometimes. Smiley

I understand when money is involved people are more likely to get defensive and start doing weird things also, but nevertheless, you can't stop progress, and it's not like these people don't have the option to protect their investments. Whether that's into SC or a fiat currency, the option is there for them.
604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 30, 2011, 01:17:21 PM
By the way CoinHunter, I0coin was recently revived with a 90 second block rate.  You'd better switch to 30 second blocks before it eats your lunch.

The mere fact you think lower = better with no end shows your ignorance.

BTW the 90 second block thing was a troll done by artforz to guarantee more blocks on his FPGA miners. By copying SolidCoin and just changing that  he has now ensured i0coin won't go beyond a pump-n-dump. But you probably knew that already with your big brain there... Smiley

If you really want others to believe in the SolidCoin hype, these are the questions you need to answer.

There is actually little "hype", there is simply the truth. People can see the data from SolidCoin's release and see how well it is working to this stage. People are already trying to copy it.  It's not hype seeing impressive numbers and being impressed. But since it hasn't achieved its goal yet I'm not going to dive into a 5 page story about SolidCoin because it's not worth talking about until it has succeeded.

In the end results are what 95% of people desire so that is who I'm targeting, not the geeks with personality disorders trying to prove themselves online. Asking questions they already think they know the answers to so they can go "AHUH, you idiot".

It's interesting when some people have success with something that a certain % of the population wants to try and "squash that success". ie The changes were crap. SolidCoin does nothing different. Bitcoin is still better. You're a liar. etc In Australia we call that tall poppy syndrome. The thing is, I'm used to it, so it doesn't bother me. I'll make a SolidCoin user out of everyone posting here and if not, you probably have bigger problems than worrying about a cryptocurrency.
606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 30, 2011, 06:18:31 AM
Based purely on the way coinhunter responds to postings put here on this thread is giving me doubt in his ability to not let his thoughts or feelings get in the way of producing/maintaining (over long periods of time) a reliable network from a development point of view.

Coinhunter you would gain more respect by myself and probably the community if you just address issues concerning the technical aspect of solidcoins and not your personal investment or feelings.

Geez we're just having a bit of fun, stop being a buzz kill. If you don't want to use SolidCoin because I have a personality then you don't have to, you're move, BAM. Smiley
607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 30, 2011, 06:12:11 AM
At a price of 0.035 BTC/SC, you would have gotten 23,800 SC. It's so nice of you to give away 13,300 SC to others! And that's my most conservative estimate.

CoinHunter, the ball is in your court. Either make the claim that you have indeed given >13k SC to others, OR admit that you were not truthful about your actual SC holdings, OR admit that you exaggerated when you said you invested $10k in SolidCoins.

Lol, keep going this is funny. What about the btc in the exchange? What does that add up to you think? Keep the guesses coming! Smiley

608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 30, 2011, 05:23:22 AM
First Solidcoin sale...  the only thing that seems to be a hassle is getting all of this converted into USD/CDN funds.  Ended up eating some cost from the market fluctuation, but it worked out somewhat good in the end.  Setting up another wallet was also painless, hate banks so much.

The developer tools coming out soon will make it very easy to get funds straight into USD or some other fiat currency. This is needed until SolidCoin is more accepted worldwide and to help with price fluctuations.

I'll be working closely with an exchange, it will be announced within two weeks hopefully
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 30, 2011, 05:18:31 AM
Well, it definitely doesn't add up. Unless he paid 0.1 BTC per SC. Or he bought them at the peak gave away 2/3 of his solidcoins to people. I call bullshit. CoinHunter, you either did not invest $10k as your claimed or you have a lot more SC. Which is it?

Haha doesn't add up? Jeez. I bought most of my SC at a relatively high price (0.03ish) after transferring from gox, I have donated quite a lot, I have also lost some through trading. Like I said, I don't value BTC anymore and I'm pretty much doing whatever I want with them. I also didn't say how much BTC I have in the exchange either. Oooo it's such a mystery, better get your detective hats on and find out the "truth". Haha. Kids are funny.

610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 30, 2011, 03:44:17 AM
Congratulations.  You control ~8% of the market by yourself.  And then you say there are probably many others with more SC than you...
You want a currency that actually works?  With like 5 people that control half the market?

Yeah.  Nice circle indeed.

Nice math, but like I said, many has left my hands and you have no idea what price I got Smiley I didn't take my money out of Mtgox until after speaking with them (around .035 price). I have about 10500 in holdings currently. You can also find many others on IRC donating to people and businesses. I haven't donated the most by far.

And if it's only going to be me supporting the currency (which I am not trying to do) then of course the currency will end up in my hands as I'm putting all my daily generated BTC back into it. Hopefully others can join and start also obtaining their wealth from it. If not then I guess others will be BTC rich and I'll be BTC poor. Smiley Like I said, it doesn't affect me financially so I don't really mind if that outcome does  come to fruition, I just want a better and faster network for my businesses and others too.
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 30, 2011, 03:24:17 AM
Gee, it's awful nice of you to hold the bag for everyone.

It's hardly a safety net for everyone, I'm am making about 12-15BTC a day on my sites. Considering there is about ~5000 BTC in one of the exchanges it will take some time before it makes any real difference. Just doing my part for the project like others are. And if you got the chip off your shoulder hopefully you can also be a part of it.
612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 30, 2011, 03:12:36 AM
And I'm bad with money?  Holy shit...

Forget what I said.  Give it to smoothie and that Mike guy.  Actually, you should keep it.  All of it.

You get the bullshit award of the year.  There's one and only one good reason that I can think of explaining why you aren't investing any more $ into it, and it's not the one you described, but we both know what it is.

Yes you are bad with money and you've proved it by begging over the internet for a few thousand dollars. Get a hold of yourself. If you want to make money your best bet right now is to invest in SolidCoins, don't say I didn't warn you.

I'm not investing any more fiat money into any cryptocurrency until SolidCoin solves the problem of getting fiat cash into the system easier. The BTC funds I get from the sites I run are still "money" and it's continually being reinvested into SolidCoins, daily. But after a bad run in with getting money into and out of Bitcoin exchanges (ie losing money to stupid exchanges) I'm not doing it until I or someone else makes it easier to do the fiat in and out.

I haven't had any experience with Ruxum yet (they are opening a USD -> SC exchange) though so maybe they will make it better than I've experienced.
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 30, 2011, 02:52:29 AM
He said he couldn't care less.  I, however, could care less, so I will take some.  He said to give him a good reason.  I gave him one.   I'll at least help spread it around.  That way, he can be virtuous and keep some money, I can be virtuous and keep some money, and you get some too.  You can be 2nd on my list.

I couldn't care less about "gaining money" from SolidCoins, I don't need any extra money. However I'll give them to people and businesses and do my part to support a growing economy. I'm not going to give them to BTC trolls or people that aren't supportive of SolidCoin. I get a lot more joy from helping out people that don't have much and helping them gain financial freedom.

I've moved all my BTC and USD into SolidCoins (not that much anyhow, only about $10,000) simply because I'm unsure about Bitcoin's future and don't want to be left with worthless coins in a few weeks. The sites I have generating BTC go straight into SolidCoins. If I lose it all it doesn't impact me financially as this is more like a hobby, especially given the insecurity surrounding Bitcoin and p2p currencies recently. I'm not investing any more into it besides what I generate from the sites themselves.

So everyone who wants to mine and dump SC for relatively low amounts they are welcome to on the exchanges, I appreciate it. They are supporting SolidCoin by allowing me to continue giving funds to real businesses in SolidCoins. It's a nice circle.
614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mining SolidCoins is now 4 times more profitable than Bitcoins !!! on: August 30, 2011, 01:21:02 AM
Yep we had our first drop, it was exciting.

Good to see the network prove itself fast and reliable under all mining conditions presented so far.
615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 30, 2011, 01:19:10 AM
100-more people with more coins is irrelevant to your profit.  Bad argument.
Need is not the same as want.  Bad argument.
If you couldn't care less, prove it and give them all to me sMXyNRxFVBBUANn2Zt51kb1AkDkY7B3VN8
That isn't all you did.  False argument.

Why would I give SolidCoins to someone who is awful at handling money like yourself?

I will hold SolidCoins to support people and businesses as time dictates, because unlike most people, I want a global currency that works. I've already tried supporting Bitcoin, it's not good enough. I'm not the only one with that opinion.
616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 30, 2011, 12:58:24 AM
The price is dropping because Bitcoin is king, Solidcoin was made by a jealous dude (jealous of Satoshi) and wanted to make a quick buck.  He did.  So did a few other people.

Way to go free market.  Nice idea...too bad the intention is way off.

Haha. Considering there are about 100 more people, minimum, with more SolidCoin's than me it's funny how people think I am the kingmaker here. I don't need money from SolidCoin, I already have businesses and sell software, so I couldn't care less. It's also why I'm donating a fair amount of my personal wallet to people.

All I did was make a fairer playground for people to come and play on. Many of the people playing there love it. Some don't.... not yet anyhow.
617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 29, 2011, 04:43:31 PM
I have a question(s). What is going to happen when the payout per block goes from 50BTC to 25BTC? Does SC have a payout cut in the future as well?

It divides by two every 300000 blocks, which at 3 minutes is about 1.7 years. It'll likely be faster than that though in practice.
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 29, 2011, 02:29:17 PM
is there a limit on how much the difficulty cant drop in a single adjustment? sorry if it's been posted already.

It can drop to be 25% of the current difficulty, at worst.
619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 29, 2011, 01:38:35 PM
noticing the hash rate has dropped a significant amount in the last 36 hours, why hasn't the difficulty dropped with it? It just keeps going up very minutely, but still going up.

Because there is still a lot of power for the current difficulty. ie We haven't exceeded 3 minute blocks.
620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] SolidCoin - new and improved block chain. Secure from pools on: August 29, 2011, 12:43:20 PM
How do you guarantee it and what is your definition for the severe condition for solidcoin or for the business?
Maybe what you guarantee is the fast block generation less than 3 minutes.

A severe condition is 75% of the hashing power dropping off very suddenly (<8 hours). SolidCoin can handle this with almost no problem, it's not ideal to be in this condition and it's assumed to be a short term phase as SolidCoin defends itself against certain scenarios. If over 75% drops off or more within a few hours (something which is unlikely to happen given global spread of mining power and time delays in moving miners) then SolidCoin still manages to correct itself within a few days, compared to the months it would take Bitcoin to correct itself, if it ever would.

SolidCoin is pretty much unbeatable when it comes to the  issues of miners moving themselves about as profitability dictates. SolidCoin can defend itself against a SolidCoin clone. We can already see a weeks worth of mining variability and the ability for SolidCoin to maintain impressive speeds.

Bitcoin is very vulnerable to something like SolidCoin which not only improves the protocol, but offers features which will drive business and users to it's chain. It is vulnerable to numerous attacks, whether malicious in intent or not, and it's very likely that we will see as SolidCoin gains traction that bitcoin cannot sustain itself. ie NameCoin, I0coin, Ixcoin, all based off bitcoin, all known failures of protocol.

How many bitcoin clones do we need to see fail before people understand there is something inherently wrong there? I give people ample warning of the situation so that if what I predict does come to pass no one can blame me for them losing their investment.
