Noticed an unexpected transfer to my wallet. Thank you to whoever sent me the BTC! Much appreciated.

Here is a little bigger picture, my December payouts so far, this shows daily total, daily BTC/TH, and 3, 7 and 14 day average BTC/TH: Overall average for the month = 2.23858315 BTC / 15.84 THs / 16 days = 0.008832793 BTC/THs/Day

What sucks is all the time and power involved and we all get nothing None of the time or power is lost, it is no different than if it had been a low diff share. Everything just keeps going towards the next block.

Old is when you did this on your parents analoge landline 2 wire copper phone connection: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acoustic_couplerto e.g. use BBS's via X.25 /x.28 providing similar services as e.g. this forum does... just whithout mouse clickee and graphics... 300 bps max... (there where Nets bigger and more interesting than Internet at that time ) really getting old... Woo hoo, I'm not old, but close. My first "PC" was a 486 computer that had the sweet "turbo" button, 512mb hard drive. Installed a 14.4k modem and voila the WWW. Before that I had vic20, commodore 128, etc.

Old is anything older than you, so I am never old. In all seriousness, I am probably on the lower side of the old line. Depends on what the definition of old is.

The problem you are going to have is the fact that you want daily payouts.
NastyPool pays out consistently but weekly.
CKPool pays when blocks are found (actually 100 confirms after block is found).
I personally use CKPool primarily with a little hash going to NastyPool.
The only way you are going to find daily payouts is on a PPS pool.

And who would want to buy an email list of a bunch of grumpy old miners anyway!
Hey, careful who you are calling grumpy!

Where can you access this, and is it good and safe to use ?
It's the link in ZACHM's signature: I can not comment on the safety of his site...other than I did register to check it out and I didn't run into anything that seemed unsafe. Yes, it is safe, there is nothing I can do with any of the information provided. Your username is already public on the stats page on Kano.is, and your API key only provides the address to get your hashrate and workers from Kano.is. I guess the only thing you are giving me is your email address, so I guess I could sell a list of emails to spammers I have about 40 active users and tracking about 530 Ths, the current hashrate on CKPool is about 4850 THs. So about 11% of the hashrate and 14% of the pool users are using my site. To all of you users of my site: Is anyone having any issues or see anything that would be unsafe? If you see anything that I should make safer let me know.

I grow my own avocados. They are available on github if anyone is interested.
|
|
|
I wasn't relying on the power of the avocado, I supplied it with 12v. I think maybe the avocado needs to be shielded. Next time I'll try stuffing it in a chicken. Should the chicken be dead or alive?

Yeah, I knew you would win this one.

Block 388647!
Avocado dip worked! Is there anything that avocado and chicken can't do? I tried plugging a network cable and 12v power supply into an avocado, but it did not produce any valid shares. Maybe I'll try again with a chicken!

Block 388647!
How did you get notified so fast? I always wonder about that, I get notified from my pool monitor, just curious what other people do? I just happen to have blockchain.info open on one screen while I was watching episode 1 of The Expanse on big screen. Kano CKPool stands out in the list when it pops up because it has a longer name than those "other" pools that keep popping up. That makes sense. I was pretty sure you posted before my monitor sent the email, so I was curious.

Just because I was board I looked back to 1 year ago on this thread and the pool was around 1200 TH, sometimes dipping to around 300 TH when some big hitters were chasing altcoins. The pool today is 4600 TH, that is a 283% growth in one year. The comparison is that the network difficulty has doubled since then so 1 TH then is equal to about 2 TH now so really with "inflation" factored in, the pool has increased by about 92%. The USD price was $345 the price now is $457, a 32% increase. I know none of this really matters, as I said, I was board.

No SPV and no Empty Blocks ...
It is too bad that this needs to even be stated. Mining Empty Blocks defeats the purpose of mining and thereby devalues mining itself. Mining is to continue the blockchain and verify transactions, right? I don't have enough knowledge on the subject, but I don't understand what advantage anyone thinks they get by mining Empty Blocks. Even if it was 30 seconds quicker to get the work changed over, does it really increase their luck in solving it quicker than any other pool/miner?
|
|
|
I can stop anytime I want... I just don't want to right now.
|
|
|
Very few of the restarts ever bother the miners. As long as you have backup pools setup you should be fine anyway. Thanks! If anyone has suggestions or things they would like to see, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Kano, any plans on adding some more info into the API? I know you have lots of free time Would love to see the rewards get in there somehow, maybe reward for last block?
