601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN-EMC2 Einsteinium FUNDING THE FUTURE WITH THE FUTURE OF CURRENCY KMD-dPoW on: January 06, 2020, 12:51:55 AM
While Einsteinium Foundation is preparing more official updates, I am willing to post a 'soft update' and to provide some insights, as interest in this coin is constant.

First important thing is that Foundation as organization is committed to continue support and work on ideas released back in 2014, along with EMC2 coin.
Second is that all members of the team are active and the team as whole is compact and even looking to extend.

Now we all have to admit that general conditions have changed. In addition to that the core team faced some technical difficulties in finalizing MIL coin designed to cover Foundation operational and future development costs as well as to represent the new set of products/platforms/tools to be heavily used by scientific community in their routines.

These two resulted in postponing MIL release. We are aware that this disappointed some community members.  But we also know that true supporters are around and looking for opportunities not only to trade but to help the project in the best way they can.

It is not easy to onboard person to blockchain organization, same way it is not easy to train and get the pilot. It is actually very expensive and time consuming process. But now that we are at the new beginning I think it will be very beneficial for the foundation to go through restructuring and for the current team members to make an extra effort and steps to recruit and to train more people. And they are willing to do so!

On our last meeting that happened a week ago, I personally expressed interest in working more with scientific community directly. I believe that time has come where the thing we are building has to be real, so the presence of real users is essential. On the same meeting I also recommended to the team that two titles that I was holding should be transferred to other teammates that are with EMC2 since day one. My focus will be pure business development and focus on scientists.

On the same meeting we discussed the idea of releasing MIL ERC20 as a place holder while we are fixing MIL main net. The current status on MIL development is next:
- After deploying first MIL pool, it got stuck at the block 29999. This issue is still not resolved, but after extensive diagnosing we nailed down what is causing the bug, and most likely it is DAG structure from ETHash algo, that needs to be changed after certain time.  Vlada is actively working on that. I really hope that after that will be no other major bumpers.

So MIL coin is under construction and we are looking to fully release the main-net and to complete mapping to EMC2 in 3 to 1 ratio, as originally planned. All of that does not prevent us from making ERC 20 place holder, but also MIL-ERC20 to MIL 1:1 converter. The reason is easy integration into existing trading systems.

More on this can be discussed on current EMC2 communication channels. I encourage all, the team, the old members, the new members etc. to openly talk about what would be the best and fastest way to bring what we have so far and whats coming into usable state that represents the real value.

At the end I am happy to share with you that few promising exchanges initiate conversation with EMC2

To summarize this update:
- Mil coins is being worked on, the development is active
- Foundation is looking for restructuring
- Foundation is welcoming more people in, especially ones that come directly from scientific community
- Foundation is prioritizing work with scientific community
- MIL ERC20 as place-holder discussion is going on
- Keeping percentage of MIL in ERC20 format for easy integration cons and proms discussion going on
- Some marketing strategies to fit Asians markets are going on
- Exchanges are expressing more interest in EMC2

I am really hoping to see year 2020 prosperous, and wish you all the best!

Malden Trifunovic

There is no such thing as fucking community. People converge in groups to take advantage of each other, and 95% of those u know are spiteful pretenders and ego-narcissists who will leave the community once they have gotten what they were longing for. Theres no *we*. The only chance to fix this mentality is by the way of coercion and physical retribution.
It's definitively a *we* here in AXE  Smiley
But on yourself you know the rest, I guess?

Clearly few people try to drop the price. Check the chart. It was over 7k and some people sold huge amounts to get sub 7k. Then we were heading over 7k and these people dumped another few thousand coins to avoid that. I am sure that's good what they doing. Otherwise there was no attractive entry price for bitcoin. We need interest and volume to reach the new ATH. It's just hodl and relax another year or two. Maybe ever less.

brute force private keys ? why :-D lol
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: December 17, 2019, 03:06:28 PM
Perhaps you can explain how specifically bitcoin has suffered from the existence of ASICs?

The private miners suffered when the game moved on from them but its generally the case that all business must be competitive and efficient and so ASIC was inevitable in coming into existence.  I can remember when mining was done on CPU or even in the wallet itself, super convenient and easy.  I wish I'd be around for that phase rather the much later rising difficulty phases.
The only argument for no ASIC is that BTC has a difficulty that rises by its own accord seemingly so why couldn't we stay on GPU forever, sadly in an open market and to stay secure I guess this was never possible.   I remember alot of alt coins did their best to freeze development onto GPU only by being very complex.  I'm not sure that really benefited the overall ecosystem for the coin so its hard to disagree however much personal bias I have the health of the coin and its blockchain is paramount.

monero is a VIRUS if it had asics this hidden wallet miner trojan aspect would not be effective ;-D pfft

I swear I'll buy shit ton when we hit 6k.

At this point, I will only quibble with this "when" part.

Are you talking low $6k or upper $6k's ?

Our current local low is $6,515 on 11/24-ish.

Are we going below that?  What are the odds?  55% at best? or am I delusional? (that last question is rhetorical)

615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: December 15, 2019, 03:24:30 PM
It has been said along the way at some point we may stop fighting asics.

Think about it practically, an ASIC is an investment in the coin. Research, design, running, costs. Its in their interest the coin is valuable. Not "damp it to 0" phone meme.

Without this sizable bit of the market it feels like we are outside the big stream.

How could it be fairest? So maybe we run a version for a year or more in test that will be the final major revision and give everyone equal time to make and market ASIC Monero devices.

Then even some groups of people might club together and spin up something.

This has been an on going debate and it is boiling down to the benefits v/s the rewards (which itself is a debate as security of the chain is a huge reward).

As I see it this is the arguments for constant algo morphing off the top of my head go ahead and fill in the blanks.

1) continued decentralization (security from attacks and continued egalitarian purpose)
2) the longer we can hold off asics the longer we have to find a truly asci proof method as once we change to something along the lines of a asic friendly algo its game over never going back as can be seen with bitcoin.
3) The need to create an entire network of asics for a decentralized asic cross over is posponed as many have just purchased cpus to support this algo.
4) we can also push back a algo change indefinitely as long as the asic manufacturers feel it is not in their interest to create and produce one. this has been accomplished already by the forks these last few years.

Now that we have drawn the line in the sand and PROVEN that we will back that statement up by forking the algo multiple times those that create and finance asics understand that they can effectively lost by funding a asic design and rolling it out if we fork again.

So I would propose we have a spare algo to fork to is a asic developed for RandomX and when the deadline comes for the next update we push it back if there is no evidence that one is or has been designed. Of course stateing publicly that we would do this would in effect negate the threat so it would have to be kept a secret from everyone except the devs who we can trust with the knowledge that this type plan could be implemented.

Either way I would say this has brought us breathing room. Another thing is if an asic cannot be a multitude of times more efficient than existing hardware then that is a consideration on whether to create that asic. there are many variables and alot of those questions can be answered by looking at the fpga hybrid boards and seeing how they fare when they have the proper bitstream.

Shit gotta run will finish my spitballing musings later. Smiley

tl;dr ===> xmr forks every few months to remain botnet friendly algo Wink reee

mic, these NOCOINER haters ALWAYS know what the price is. They ask like, ‘how’s bitcoin doing’. They know because they always look. They’re so jealous & worried about what will/could happen with the price that they look even when they don’t own any.

My gf’s family are exactly the same. They sometimes have a little dig (nasty comment) when the price is not doing good. The thing is I’m not much of an asshole but I should be. I should say ‘bitcoin is doing fine actually, I could buy all of your houses without a mortgage right now with my bitcoin’s’.

I will wait until it’s six figures per bitcoin & start handing out sats to them like I do when I give change to homeless people in my town when I shop.

In life there are so many jealous, bitter people. It’s easy to tell who they are. The one’s who can’t help but drop a hateful comment here & there. It helps them forget about how shit their own lives are. There are plenty of people like that here - r0ach, The-One-Above-All etc.

A reminder that the battle for open source financial and communication freedom is not ever 'won'.  A little vigilance is essential.

Perhaps keeping it simple for the general audience.  Lots of folks will stop listening if they don't understand what's being said. He appeals to a large group of investors I'd imagine of which most probably won't understand mining.

For context, we are referring to my comments about the Tim Draper interview video.

Even though I agree with you (Icygreen) that Draper likely attempts to frame his discussion in terms of broad context ideas, I stick by the comments of my earlier post, and I may even double down to assert that he might not even understand the significance of certain technical aspects of projects in which he invests.

I am NOT trying to act as if I am technically smarter than Draper, but he is more of a broader concepts kind of investor and he does not necessarily get into the technical weeds of his various investments, but he does seem to be more than ready, willing and able to get into investing into technical matters that he does not understand so long as he largely agrees with the overall offer proposition of the thing that he is investing into.  Probably the fact that he dabbles with a large number of investments at the same time, necessitates that he does not get into too many technical details, so, again, I am not sure whether he actually understands the significance of the every two weeks mining adjustment (because it would be easy enough to put that into laymans terms), but of course, I recognize that he easily would understand the whole concept if anyone were to explain it to him (presuming that he currently does not recognize it as an important factor to mention in these kinds of public overview of bitcoin discussions).

I will also assert that even though Draper does not seem to get into the weeds of any technical proposition arguments, he also does not seem to be easily distracted into any kinds of pumping up of various shitcoins, and maybe he does invest in shitcoins but just does not talk about them.  Most of all interviews that I have seen him, he will redirect any attempts at shitcoin talking back towards bitcoin.  So, whether he ends up being correct or not, his not getting into shitcoins is something else that bitcoin maximalists can appreciate.

Don't get me wrong, I, personally, am not really hostile to various possible technical offerings of shitcoins, but I am frequently against either overexaggerating their importance or attempting to put them on some kind of equivalency pedestal as bitcoin, when there is a BIG ASS lacking of actual factual and logical evidence to show any shitcoin to come even close to bitcoin, and I hate to even mention the network effects of Ethereum in this regard, because even the network effects of ethereum seem to be considerably built upon smoke and mirrors that have decent odds of completely collapsing in spite of all the supposed hundreds of thousands of snot nosed 14 year olds building upon it.  But hey what do I know?  I am surprised that ethereum is seemingly holding its own (to the extent that it is) for more than 5 years already... holiey ba-jeezus!!!!!  Shocked

Drapers' kool aid strong! :-D ~ i met him last year fwiw* lol
