I am - x5 of my buy price
but still having hope with SIA.
project and intention is good. just dumping killing me

How can you be x5 of your buy price?
I mean, now siacoin is being traded at around 100 satoshis which is probably the all time low since it has been announced.
I am pretty much disappointed as I firstly purchase the coin when it peeked up at around 400 sat/sia which was a wrong move by me.

Seriously, do you know how to read a chart? I am up 12x in USD because I bought in February.
602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: October 02, 2017, 10:12:55 PM
is there any good news about SIA, I see there has been no price growth for SIA for 2 months and breakout at 100 satoshi

Yes, the contracts on the system are growing at a good rate: https://siastats.info/total_contracts.html

Does ANYONE know what the MAX/total supply of SIA coin is.. circulating supply is 29 billion. What's the max?

None really, but coins are burned in some transaction so it will level out in a few years: https://siastats.info/supply_inflation.html

- Hover your mouse over the icon in the lower left that looks like an open lock and text will appear, it should state "wallet is encrypted and currently unlocked"
- The lightning bolt next to it should state "Staking ..."

Its definitely unlocked and the lightening bolt is highlighted and says its staking. The only symbol I question is the tick as that is not colored in (Tick is the one that shows blocks are processing) If i check ever so often the block counts is updating. Can you confirm if your tick is all white?

Thanks for trying to help Mr Sunshine,
[/quote]

My Tick is Green and says: "Up to date processed 1,197,121 blocks of transaction history". Could your firewall be blocking your connection?

No problem the original date seemed a bit aggressive to me. It is better to get it right.

I hear you but it seems to have found a bottom. It went up wait to fast, wait 3 years from now.
607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RADS] Radium - Bringing Advanced Utility to the Blockchain on: October 02, 2017, 10:36:55 AM
Seems that for the past 2 weeks, every coin I stack is "generated but not accepted". I have about 20 of these. Only 1 accepted over the past 2 weeks. Anyone know what's going on?

Yeah its relatively normal to get orphaned stakes, you should maybe try restarting your wallet every so often. You should be getting roughly 1 stake per 1000 RADS so look at your RADS amount and calculate your expected average time to generate a stake.

Well, over the past month I've received .5 rads, but I have 24 that say "generated but not accepted".

Staking 600 rads at the moment.

I used to see some of these orphaned stakes, but since 9/1/17 it's just been nuts. Have restarted wallet several times, but doesn't seem to help.

Running the 1.4.6 Linux wallet, is this the most current? Anything else I can do?

Yep, I'm starting to lose patience with this coin. After a week of wallet open to staking, I've seen nothing. One of the main reasons to buy as much as i did was for the rewards to offset the risk if i was wrong.

Can someone confirm with me how the tick in the bottom left corner of the wallet should look. Should it be highlighted in white like the lightening symbol is when you initiate staking? This is the only thing i can think why.

Its not confidence inspiring seeing that the devs don't reply to peoples questions above. Ideas why? Do they actively use something else for comms?

608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: October 01, 2017, 09:20:45 PM
I'm curious what are some of the things people here are most excited about with regards to Decred? Lightning Network, cross chain atomic swaps, or some of the amazing features that are coming soon, like the proposal system and enhanced privacy features? Chime in, they can even be things that you would like to see done once the current roadmap is complete.

Decred is looking like a grown up bitcoin.
- Governance avoids the crazy infighting like bitcoin has
- POS for holders
- Some Funds held to support development and thus provide top notch code.
- Smart roadmap

NEO Council Monthly Report – September

https://neo.org/en-US/blog/details/69?1

Nice, one very interesting document on this is the list of GAS fees: http://docs.neo.org/en-us/sc/systemfees.html Most are cheap fees, but a few that stand out:

Validator.Register    1000
Asset.Create (system asset)    5000
Asset.Renew (system asset) [per year]    5000
Contract.Create    500
Contract.Migrate    500

I don't understand the question.

do I have to keep my wallet open at all times to stake and receive GAS ?

No, just keep the coins in your wallet closed and it will accumulate GAS. You can see how much GAS you have claimed or accumulated via this address: https://neotracker.io/address/YourWalletNeoAddress

This is great news for NEO.

Hey

Just a couple questions about staking. Am I right in saying its like a lottery? Some days you'll have nothing, and other days you'll do better? I've a thousand RADS staking for 2 days so just checking that people go days without a reward. Just that i expected at least something.

Second question is, where does the value come from? So i have value in my current RADS as i was prepared to pay current market value at the given price. But where does the value come from for these new coins? Isnt this deflationary for the price in $ terms? If i understand right, when the blocks are halved, this is supposed to be a good thing for price, but isn't this only on the basis that others will come along and put more fiat into the RADS ecosystem?

Thanks

Yes, with a thousand RADS you may get 4 rewards in two days or no rewards for 5 days straight.

I'm planning to purchase more BTC and use part of that to purchase more NEO.  Should I wait to see if BTC gets below $4,000 again, hoping NEO doesn't climb in the next few days?  Or should I go ahead and get it now and purchase the NEO before it goes up? Or should I look at purchasing GAS instead of NEO?

It is hard to predict prices, but every couple months there is a pull back and NEO would probably go down more than BTC in that case. I would get NEO instead of GAS as NEO generates GAS. Would you rather own the chicken or the egg?

Wrong again!

Chinese government wont create a similar platform becouse then a coin wont be DECENTRALIZED! You understand that right... People like that crypto world is decentralized. Sure government dont like that but people do. As soon as people will start to assume that some crypto is centralized, becouse you are basicly saying that NEO will be, people will stop using it.... The closest any government can come to crypto is to be an investor...

If you apply your logic, than why dont government create its own BTC. BECOUSE PEOPLE WONT USE IT....

The government can try to have a war with crypto world, but it will lose... Becouse people are accepting BTC more and more... They are creating false FUD, so thay can make more and more money... Crypto world is still relativly young. Once this will go to more advanteced stage no FUD will hurt investors anymore. The problem is new investors are easily manipulated with all that FUD. With in a year or two, that wont matter...

What you say is what you want. Wink
But there is a long distance between truth and what you want.
I'm in crypto world since 2012. according to my experience, it is only bitcoin that you can be sure of decentralization. the rest of coins only use this title for their announcements.
Success in the crypto world requires deep research far from bias and excitement. Cool

So you are a bitcoin maximist preaching your 5 years of experience? Then why did you blow that $5 call on NEO so badly.  Sure bitcoin is great, but during a bull a market quality alt coins out perform bitcoin buy a mile. Anyway watch out bitcoin, Decred does everything right that bitcoin can't do quickly enough due to it's poor governance.

I was also having trouble with the latest wallet even though previous versions had worked fine and I found the only way to get it to work was to uninstall all old versions (iguana, agama and komodo) from windows, making sure you delete all associated files and folders from your "ProgramFiles" folder.

Then delete the "Agama", "iguana" & "Komodo" folders in "C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Roaming\". Then install the latest version of Agama (v0.2.0.22a-beta) using the windows installer.

After that I started Agama with KMD, REVS & JUMBLR in native mode and imported my passphrase from the ico and the blockchain downloaded and the wallet synced and I can see both my KMD and JUMBLR balances correctly now.

 Grin

P.S. if you want to save some time downloading the blockchain again you can backup the "blocks" & "chainstate" folders and the "komodostate" file inside "C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Roaming\Komodo" and copy them back after the re-install, before you open Agama for the first time... that worked for me.

SNIP

Just be clear so all you need is your Wallet Seed to recover your balance? I had been running the Agama wallet in Basilisk mode and would like to try this technique.

NEO, the eighth largest cryptocurrency in market capitalization, surged nearly 30% in the last 24 hours to a $33.78 price and a market capitalization of $1.689 billion, according to coinnmarketcap.com.

The $33.78 price marks a near doubling in the last two weeks, as the price had fallen to $17.38 on Sept. 14 from an all-time high of $48.01 on Aug. 14.

The advance enabled NEO to leap over Ethereum Classic to secure the 10th spot in the market cap rankings.

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/neo-leads-crypto-market-30-price-surge/

all time high was closer to 60$ wasnt it? or am i just insane? the aug 1 - 14 bull run was epic. Lets do that agian fam.

It is easy to find the recent price though it varies a little bit depending which exchange the data is drawn from, but the recent high in August was around $50 and the recent low was around $13.50

The amount of supply is too much, better to wait at the bottom until the time of purchase arrives.

Can you enlighten us when the supply will not be too much, even reduced by some amount perhaps? Any exact date, maybe?
Some arguments are just hillarious. Supply grows.

According to https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/siacoin/#markets Yunbi left the building. In a hurry, to my observation. Even BTCe seems to be more resilient.

The supply will not be going down lol circulating supply will be increasing everyday. The goal is to have a cost effective way to securely store and access information on the SIA network at a cost efficient rate.... That wont be happening with a very costly SIA coin price. SIA has great development and has big plans for the future but it doesnt make sense for the coin price, individually, to be high. If you want a solid long term investment... SIA is a great choice and that is why I am holding several million coins but dont expect major price swings unless it is due to intermittent pumps.

I've only ben in Crypto's for a few months and I've been reading and investing little here and there. I have some Sia coins. I have a question. If I understand correctly the objective is to possibly keep Sia affordable then is there something other than the "coin" itself I should look into investing witch is more profitable? I mean I believe in the project so I want to invest a little bit into it. At the same time if and when Sia takes off Do I want to be holding "Coins" or something else? Not sure if I'm explaining what I mean correctly?

Yes, you can buy a Siafund. I still think the tokens will gradually rise in price over time as the ecosystem grows. They rose too fast in the spring.

It seams like DECRED also made the revolutionary atomic swap for the first time in history https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw5icKcmdbA&feature=youtu.be

So who was first? And which one is more revolutionary? Smiley

Dave Collins, says, 5:43 "This is really low hanging fruit and not many people have done this so we're gong to go ahead, start the ball rolling and ya know huh, take it."

And there you have it, "not many people have done this" they where not the first, they took it.

He was talking about decentralized exchanges and atomic swaps, that exist, didn't name them clearly if at all, but he also didn't lie because BaterDex was/is already doing it and could easily be inserted into the decentralized exchange's statement but he didn't, he also didn't say that they jumped somebody else's train either, he played it down.

If this is being played as a first atomic swap then he has shot himself in the foot.

That's why I am not impressed with DICKHEAD sorry I mean DECRED or is it really NOCRED, sorry again, I get confused.

I wounder if De Cred is like De Grease, to take all the grease away, to take all the Credibility away, probably not but looks like it.

Everybody's jumping everybody else's train, it's always the same.

IMO, it is not really worth worrying about. Decred is really trying to be a better bitcoin with governance and more bells and whistles. Komodo is aiming for a different goal. I own both as I think they are both good coins for what they are trying to do.

I should've bought more when it was at $17, doubt it'll ever go back to 0.0057 btc again :/ btw whats the real use for gas?

GAS will be used to pay for contracts and transactions on the system. Some think it will reach $100 to $300 in the next couple of years.
