6041  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Spam email on: November 19, 2017, 10:56:12 AM
I used to use blockchain.info as a hot wallet (no longer do) but, I've had the emails for years, and still receive them even though I don't use them. What's interesting is that was a clean email, so I'm unsure how the phishing emails actually acquired the email.
6042  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Your thoughts on profiting off and the sustainability of HYIPs? on: November 19, 2017, 10:54:11 AM
I'm against anyone using them, especially if they know it's a ponzi and still use the service looking to gain profit themselves, it's basically encouraging and helping the scam. I understand many people may not realize it's a scam though.
6043  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is best bitcoin lending platform? on: November 19, 2017, 10:53:10 AM
I want to try it out. Anyone who can suggest a good one?
Thanks!!

I would definitely say on forum, the lending section.

With third party sites you really have no guarantees as a lender and a borrower. If you are a lender then the personal information that you hold really has no weight especially if the borrower is in another country altogether.

If you're a borrower, you have no control over the personal info you submit. They could easily do dodgy stuff with your info.

Plus, a lot of the time you are lending to someone who you've never heard of and doesn't have much of an identity, unlike the forums where they may have a history and reputation to keep, which safeguards you a little more.
6044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck in bitcoin core transaction on: November 19, 2017, 10:51:26 AM
Your unlikely to have enabled the option, if you want to find some of the accelerators, your best bet is to check over at the services section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

There's a few websites that  offer it too, but normally require a minimum fee and I believe yours will fall under that threshold. For future, either enable the option on the new wallet, or use Electrum or similar wallets that allow editing the fee by default.
6045  Other / Meta / Re: Account Banned on: November 19, 2017, 10:45:28 AM
You wouldn't of gotten banned for asking for a loan, as loan requests aren't moderated. If you had no warning, then it's likely you were banned for copy and pasting, or spamming nonsense. Anyway, your best bet of getting unbanned is by messaging cyrus.
6046  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BUG on Bittrex order and deposit is lost on: November 17, 2017, 01:27:55 PM
The only chance you have of getting the deposit back is by contacting support. If it was a mistake of their end then they will be required to give it back. If it's something you've done, then they are very unlikely to help. Just contact their support explaining in detail what happened.
6047  Other / Meta / Re: Recaptcha issues with login on: November 17, 2017, 01:24:55 PM

I have this problem also and it is very annoying.Sometimes I just get message that my computer send automated queries and only thing that help is to reset my modem to get new IP address.

Situation became much worse in last few weeks and many users complain that reCaptcha is completely unsolvable, and this is particularly evident in faucets where you need to solve captcha to claim reward.

It would be nice to add second captcha to login as choice,I think many would be grateful for that.
One of the reasons why the image captcha is widely used, is it's not as easy to automate such as the other captchas. That's why it's popular, and I think it's a very good system at it's core. I've only ever had problems with the captcha loading slow, or becoming unsolvable when using Tor. But, I imagine clearing your cookies would fix it on Firefox/Chrome.
6048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make passive income with BTC wealth? Ideas? on: November 17, 2017, 01:22:32 PM
Property is an asset, which is something you can live in on a daily basis, so I would advise that investing in property is a very good idea. Bitcoin, is also very good to hold but should be wary as it's not as old as some of the currencies out there today, so it's susceptible to drops and rises.
6049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My thoughts on why Bitcoin’s success is actually built into its business model. on: November 17, 2017, 01:21:07 PM
How can you ensure that the transaction fees will decrease? I agree with your main points, but unless transaction fees decrease drastically, I think bitcoin's "business model" (if there is even such a thing) as a mode of payment will not happen.

The fees aren't that bad when dealing with large amounts. I think it's only ever a problem when you need a fast transaction and you are sending very small amounts, which means sometimes the fee is higher than the actual amount. Larger amounts, have very small fees though.
6050  Economy / Services / Re: Escrow Service Announcement on: November 16, 2017, 12:30:51 PM
You are right and your concern is appreciated. There are scammers everywhere and trust is a premium resource among men. However, there is no way to gain trust than to do something trustworthy and another way of countering evil is to do the good you can. I can't say more. With time you too would have reason to assess appropriately if my history of trade on the forum were good or bad.
Thank you.

People normally gain trust by trading with an escrow before being an escrow themselves. Your not going to find much business when you literally have 0 references to trades. It's not a matter about rank, but about the history of the user. You barely have any history relating to trade.  Your competition is very high too, as there's escrows out there with hundreds of feedback from past transactions.
6051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: General Help For Bitcoin Please Help ASAP on: November 16, 2017, 10:04:45 AM
Through transactions. Miners process transactions by mining the block that your transactions are on. The fees people pay on top of the amount they send will go to the miners that are processing the block.
6052  Other / Meta / Re: Admin or Moderators please help me! Negative trust for nothing! on: November 16, 2017, 09:58:43 AM
The trust system isn't moderated, so the staff will not be able to help you. The only way your going to get it removed is to talk to Lauda himself, but it doesn't appear like he wants too. It's likely it won't be removed.

He's provided a reference which seems to back up his claims.
6053  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase occured error on: November 15, 2017, 05:05:29 PM
What's the full message? It might be a temporary issues or you may need to clear your cache. If you continue to have the problem just contact support and they will be able to help you out.
6054  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: STOLEN BITCOINS / HACKED ACCOUNTS on: November 15, 2017, 05:00:29 PM
Bitcoin allows you to have a control over your money saving it from fiat inflation and manipulation by centralized authority. This makes you responsible for the security of your Bitcoin. If any one develops a system to reverse Bitcoin transactions, then that gonna ultimately kill the integrity of Bitcoin. Indeed scams are way too common in crypto market. Along with pros decentralization and anonymity have their owns flaws as well.

The only ones that have the power to reverse the transactions are the developers, and I can't see that fork being supported by the miners or the community. Bitcoin allows you to keep your Bitcoin safe yourself, but it's still open to influence from anyone with a decent authority or investment.
6055  Other / Meta / Re: Organized farming of member ranks on: November 14, 2017, 01:07:35 PM
if a user's ignore count (number of times they've been ignored by, say, Full Member+) were displayed, it could be easier to identify spammers, or easier for people to ignore spammers without reading their posts, or there could be an option to ignore anybody who has been ignored by 100+ Hero/Legendary+ members.

This used to be a feature, but got removed for a reason I can't recall right now. Basically users glowed Orange/yellow depending on the amount of people they were ignored by.
6056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the government or banks create their own crypto? on: November 13, 2017, 05:52:39 PM
Let's be brutally honest here, if the government did release their own coin why would anyone trust it? It's not likely to be decentralized, and if it is then we are making progression. Maybe, banks will try a version of a cryptocurrency in the future, probably something which acts like shares and pays out on that.

6057  Other / Meta / Re: Organized farming of member ranks on: November 13, 2017, 05:45:05 PM
I have the perfect - and probably only - way that we can finally put a stop to this sort of account farming bullshit almost completely: Remove signatures from ranks entirely. What I have suggested is that users who sign up here either have no signature at all or at most a small one like the current Junior to Member one and to get a Senior or Hero-sized signature with colour etc you have to donate to the forum to get it (say something like $50 for Senior and $100 for Hero). This would instantly make accounts almost worthless and thus kills the account farming and hacking market and the money that would have gone to a scummy account farmer or hacker will then go to the forum instead. If we did this we would then have no more people just using bots to copy and paste or shitposting as fast as they can in crappy off topic threads just to rank up and farm their account in the quickest and laziest way possible which leads to the utter degradation of the forum. People also then cannot just sign up to this forum in droves with half a dozen (or in some cases hundreds) of accounts like many Filipino and Indonesians do just to bleed campaigns dry, because if they don't pay the $50-100 fee for a signature the accounts will be largely worthless. I think if we don't remove signatures from ranks somehow this problem will never stop and will only get worse as more and more people purely sign up to this forum just to earn as much money as they can from bounties and campaigns. When you're an impoverished non-English kid from a third world country there's only one thing you can do and that's at best shitpost and at worst copy and paste and we can already see this behaviour becoming more and more prolific as every month passes.

I'm all for finding a solution, and this will stop a majority of the people, it will likely stop the account sellers to a degree, but I think the people buying accounts for signature campaigns will still likely be willing to pay a fee, as they are theoretically doing that now by purchasing accounts, but instead of purchasing the accounts they'll just level them up themselves.

I do think this will limit the much lazier people and the people who aren't willing to invest anything and simply make dozens of accounts just to level them up and this should reduce the amount of accounts which are being sold. Having said that though I would be willing to support this as it would reduce the amount and could potentially make the moderation easier as well as general viewing more pleasant. It's certainly going to do more good than the current system.

6058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you think Satoshi Nakamoto keep himself under the radar? on: November 13, 2017, 05:37:47 PM
There could be numerous reasons, but I think it's a good idea to keep his identity separate from Bitcoin. We aren't sure of who Satoshi his past is, and lets be honest if the any government to anti Bitcoin authority got hold of his identity then they would definitely look for dirt on his past.
6059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My advice to Bitcoin newbies: relax on: November 13, 2017, 05:33:38 PM
Let noobs be noobs and make mistakes. It's obvious that the majority of them do what they consider the best, and for that reason ignore everything people here are talking about. Those who actually learn from their mistakes will end up stronger and more resistant to these situations. Most of the newer people just look to make profit, and that with the mindset of Bitcoin being a cool and profitable investment option, but still with the danger of falling back to zero. It takes time and a costly lesson for these people to understand how this market and its usual dose of panic works.

It's good to offer guidance, but I think you are partially right in that they need to work a lot of it out themselves and learn from their mistakes like all of us have at too. The majority of people and not just newbies are looking to either 1. Use the currency for what was envisioned by Satoshi 2. Make a profit and convert it to fiat. I don't have a problem with either of those because they both help Bitcoin in the long term.
6060  Other / Meta / Re: Original account hacked, being used for Signature campaigns. on: November 13, 2017, 04:30:23 PM
You might have to wait awhile for it to get locked/resolved. It might be worth contacting the campaign manager and directing him to this thread so he knows not to pay him.
