621  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stable bitcoin price on: August 13, 2014, 07:22:00 PM
The adoption is still increasing at an exponential rate so the price can't be stable in this period,
maybe in 5-6 years it could reach some stability but there's no prediction that can tell us the truth nowadays.
622  Economy / Speculation / Re: PANIC PANIC! (just get it over with, will you?) on: August 13, 2014, 07:19:26 PM
Panic doesn't affect long term holders.
The average hodler user just relax watching at the price drops and rises while the others have some nice panic attacks.
623  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Grabbing other peoples private keys with bitcoin-qt on: August 13, 2014, 06:05:03 PM
Would it be possible to edit the bitcoin-qt code so that when communicating with other peers it also grabs their private keys whilst grabbing their version of the blockchain?

This could be a possible security flaw am I right?

No it's impossible at all because if this critical issue would have been real, the developers would have fixed it in no time.
624  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ways to Earn Money on Bitcoin Faucets on: August 13, 2014, 06:02:19 PM
Have you heard about these things called Bitcoin faucets? They’re these sites that give away small fractions of Bitcoins (BTC) every thirty minutes, one hour, three hours, six hours, or 24 hours. Sounds like they’d be pretty cool for building up Bitcoins over time, right? Well, unless you have the free time to hit all of the faucets out there every half hour, you’re probably not going to extract all the Bitcoin you could out of them.

The best faucet I have tried so far is the Primedice built-in faucet, with it you can earn 500 satoshi solving a single captcha.
Then with some luck you can win more coins gambling in the dice game.
If you lose, restart from the beginning.
625  Economy / Speculation / Re: My Prediction Chart on: August 13, 2014, 05:59:17 PM
This is the chart I see every night in my dreams, but who knows if they will come true.
After this drop, that can lasts some other weeks, I agree that the price will start to rise again and hit a new ATH.
626  Economy / Speculation / Re: lets call out the trolls on: August 13, 2014, 05:55:45 PM

- you lose something that is going to be worth $0.00 one day, so you technically did not lose anything.

I don't think that bitcoin is "going to be worth $0.00 one day", if one btc will ever be valued 0$, this won't be our problem
but a problem of our children.
If you lose your stake with gambling, you lose the possibility to have a great investment return in few years.
627  Economy / Speculation / Re: The final bear trap on: August 13, 2014, 05:49:45 PM
I lurk these forums quite frequently, and I've been hanging out since 2011. We all saw this dip coming. This is that dip where people say, "Fuck it, I'm done! It's not going to the moon EVER!" Pirate has stolen all of our money! etc..

The past is no reliable predictor of the future, but it's all we've got, so let's come up with some expected values based on intuition.

Let's say there's a 25% chance these bubbles will repeat themselves and over the next year we'll reach >$4000 level.
Let's say there's a 50% chance we'll stagnate at an average of $500 over the next year
Let's say there's a 25% chance we'll go to $0 over the next year.

0 * .25 + 0.5 * 500 + 0.25 * 4000 = $1250 expected value over the next year, for me at least.

So keep on selling and I'll keep on buying!

Looking at the charts of the past years seems that we are near the end of the stagnation period,
your calculations are made "for fun" but I think you centered the point, the train will leave the station after the weak hands will be out of the game.
628  Other / Off-topic / Re: What current BTCT user(s) is Satoshi currently using? (if at all?) on: August 13, 2014, 05:37:28 PM
Probably he can be one of the users who are actively helping the development of the coin,
I would search among all the accounts which have zero posts in the altcoin section but most of the posts in the development forum.
629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nothing interesting on Bitcointalk - Where is the innovation? on: August 13, 2014, 05:31:56 PM
Where does the innovation take place?

New schemes, fresh ideas, new implementations. Where?

If you are searching for fresh, new, innovative ideas just open the altcoin announcement section of the forum.
Everyday there are new coins and some of them are really different from the others, read their specifications
and have fun studying how they works (the altcoins are open source, almost all of them).
630  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who can tell me what going on with the price? on: August 13, 2014, 03:18:02 PM
and heres the elliot wave theory  Smiley

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=672187.msg7917767#msg7917767

bottom at 538 in August rising to $1,000 by 2nd week of Sept...there are many more..visit Speculation and while away some time.
HOLY SHIT that's dead accurate within $10 and two days, and it's a prediction made a month ago!

Who is this guy?

There are hundreds (or maybe thousands) of speculations through the forum, it's normal that someone can predict the right price.
It would be surprising if the price will really rise to $1000 in the second week of September Smiley
631  Local / Off-Topic (Italiano) / Re: Robin Williams è morto . on: August 13, 2014, 03:14:33 PM
solo a me frega nulla?!

basti pensare a "L'attimo fuggente" o "Patch Adams" o ancora "Jack".
Poi se una persona ha altri gusti potrebbe anche rimanere indifferente a questa notizia, è giusto così.
632  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm Broke! Plese help me:( on: August 13, 2014, 03:10:02 PM
You should sell all your mining hardware as soon as possible and investing all the remaining money into bitcoins directly.
At the moment the price is low and probably if you hold your coins without trying to play the market you will be rich again in a year or two.
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to earn stellars for free? #stellars #freestellars on: August 13, 2014, 03:06:41 PM
Hi,
I want to know the ways we can earn free stellars .I am confused that how to earn more stellar. Please put your earning techniques here.

There aren't many ways to get some stellars, you can buy them or earn some STR by signing in with facebook and verifiyng your account with the email.
The easiest way to buy is to register in the Poloniex exchange and trade them.
You can also buy some from the bitcointalk or the official forum but the risk to be scammed is relatively high.
634  Other / Meta / Re: Is this what a perma ban looks like? on: August 13, 2014, 03:01:34 PM
So what are the reasons which leads to a permanent ban? And do users get warning prior to the ban telling them to stop doing whatever it is they're doing which could lead to a permanent ban?

Reasons for temp ban: forum spam, too much posts not related to topic, too much insubstancial posts, etc..

Reasons for perma ban: that being your second temporary ban, being a bot or acting like one, spread malware across the forum, try to compromise forum's security, and stuff like that

I would add to permaban reason list: copying text from other sites without mentioning the source.
635  Other / Meta / Re: The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. on: August 13, 2014, 02:58:07 PM
It's a nice way to prevent newbies from spamming all around the forum, this method should be adopted also by other wesites.
This limit is really useful even if it can be easily bypassed.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wife is pregnant, how to incorporate bitcoin into the process? on: August 13, 2014, 02:54:05 PM
My wife is pregnant too and I knew the news yesterday but this isn't our first son, it's the second.
Prepare yourself for some months of pain Cheesy
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitlicense petition on: August 13, 2014, 02:50:52 PM
What is this, I would not open that link without someone trusted who will post a feedback...

its just a change.org petition, relax

Ok thanks, I'm always fearfull of unknown links after I was scammed some months ago Smiley
638  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bubble to occur late August/early September on: August 13, 2014, 02:47:48 PM
The bubble predictions are shifting every month more, but sooner or later someone will guess the right time...
639  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you can't take a $40-$50 price hit without panic selling... on: August 13, 2014, 02:46:23 PM
I just hold my coins and see people panic buy/sell losing their stakes, holding is the easiest solution to earn money without doing anything Smiley
640  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you really believe that Bitcoin will hit 1,000,000 on: August 13, 2014, 02:42:59 PM
How ironic,

here we are discussing if BTC will hit a million dollars and BTC is crashing as we speak!

There are no real major indicators as to why it is crashing though, but might just be a good time to buy. damn, why does it crash when i am broke! Huh Cry

It's not a crash but only a downswing which will be followed by a rebound, probably in few weeks we will see again the July values.
