It's blatantly obvious that MagicalTux himself is generating the bidwall, it's up even with volatility that would kill the fastest HFT network.
Nice conspiracy theory!  Even though it's stupid.

It's not gonna stay calm with 57,000 BTC sitting there in the palm of this guy's hand.  Currently on the buy side.  We've seen him do "kung-fu" with his own money by instantly throwing up ask and then bid walls back and forth.

This is mad. MtGoxLive has no idea what is happening. There are lines everywhere.
I know, it's hilarious.  Might as well be circles on the chart, hehe.
625  Economy / Speculation / Re: Someone just took a gigantic dump. on: November 14, 2011, 02:47:21 AM
And bam, he pulls out at 6:45PM PST.  Where is he gonna get back in?

Edit: back in with 45,000 BTC @ $2.50....this is fun!
626  Economy / Speculation / Re: Someone just took a gigantic dump. on: November 14, 2011, 02:31:05 AM
A couple minutes ago I watched the 50,000 BTC bid wall move from 2.50 to 2.55 all at once.  It's definitely just one person.
627  Economy / Speculation / Re: Someone just took a gigantic dump. on: November 14, 2011, 02:22:58 AM
Well I doubt multiple people would just so happen to put up 50,000 BTC at the same exact price out of coincidence.
628  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this dump a effect of wallet encryption problems ? on: November 14, 2011, 02:17:55 AM
I don't think it has anything to do with wallet encryption failure.
629  Economy / Speculation / Re: Someone just took a gigantic dump. on: November 14, 2011, 02:16:32 AM
Hmm, I've had a really good connection to gox with Chrome on SoCal Time Warner through this frenzy...  Huh

The action is so heated it's literally breaking mtgoxlive...the chart doesn't make any sense sometimes lol.

Avast suddenly started throwing false positives on cgminer recently.  I don't know if it was included in a recent defs update or what.  I have submitted a false positive report to Avast for review.  You're welcome!  Grin

has anyone tried this?

how much did you get out?
and how much is the equivalent in BTC?

cheers
I've been mining on the micro instance for a couple days now.  I'm not getting much out of it.  The speed fluctuates wildly.
636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] - LTC minerd install as windows service! on: November 03, 2011, 07:06:30 PM
I wouldn't install it as a service because you need to watch if it crashes.  Mine crashes once a day with no obvious output.

I'm not sure clock speed has to do with how efficiently it uses electricity.  Voltage sure would affect it though.  I would run at the highest clock speed you can without bumping up voltage.  If you bump up voltage it starts to use more amperage in almost an exponential fashion.  I believe it's very linear with clock speed increase.  I'm running at 960 core, 300 memory.  I used to be able to do just over 1,000MHz when the cards were new.

Damn damn double damn.  Time to build a server at home with hexacores in it or something.

Has anyone done the math to see if mining Litecoin would be profitable on an Amazon EC2 High-CPU Extra Large (8 cores)?  On-demand pricing is $0.68/hr and and spot pricing is $0.216/hr.
