You guys are just speculating, you have no idea what girls really want cause you're not a girl. We always talk with my friends about this and I think most of them agree they want security from their "guy" over everything else. A banker may seem safer than a bitcoiner but the way things are these days I wouldn't bet on it. How many bankers have lost their jobs recently? Quite a lot. Also, they have lost their reputation in recent years.
Big time footballers for example are a safer bet, even the dumbest of girls can work out that even is their footballer guy retires at a young age they already made enough £ to last forever, plus can still live off their fame doing guest appearances for the rest of their life.
I think a girl's biggest fear is not being poor/average but actually not being able to mantain a certain status once they get it, for example becoming rich and then losing it all would be their biggest nightmare, that sort of shame in society.
I think Bitcoiners are risk takers in nature and most girls would run a mile from any guy who enjoys sailing too close to the wind, it's not far from dating a gambler if you think about it. Girls need security, not just for themselves but for their future children etc.
However, IF said Bitcoiner happens to come from a rich family then there's a safe "backup", and/or IF he happens to already have a few million in properties or FIAT ("real" money, since btc could dissapear tomorrow), PLUS if he promises not to do anything stupid ever i.e. suddenly investing all life savings and properties in a new btc opportunity which could turn out to be BFL-esque and bankcrupt the entire family/ Well, then yes you Bitcoiners have a fair chance to get chosen by a girl.
Note: I said "a lot of" girls. I'm a girl and I don't personally agree with those views myself. I would choose love/feelings over everything else, I don't really care what a guy does or how ricch he is as long as he's a nice person, and as long as I love him and he loves me back.
Hope this was useful to you guys, I know some of you don't talk to girls much so maybe this will help Smiley

I bet I talk to more girls in a day than you do in a year lol. Stop trolling,

You may talk to girls but you're a guy, I'm a girl and I know we don't tell guys as much as we tell other girls. I know information from the inside. If you don't wanna know that's fine but I'm sure some guys on here do appreciate a bit of help on that department.

Since this thread is close to reaching 2 months now I was wondering, did you get your question answerd?

Are you the only girl here?

We've had 3 other girls on here (this thread). I'm sure there's more on this forum and I wish they would come out and say it. I don't understand why they are still so afraid to say so.

wanna go out?  be warned, if u are under 18, or are a guy, that is a complete turn-off.

Disagreeing with majority of the views does not equate to trolling.

I won't discuss this further because this is not the place to be doing it.

let us not be rude in the presence of a real female *tips fedora purchased with bitcoin*

also op pls lock this thread

Why are you repeatedly asking for the tread to be locked?

If the OP was male, and they started a thread that attracted a lot of trolls, would you still be asking them to lock the thread?

I have heard that there is a option to avoid notifications with specific threads.

Yep there's an "unwatch" button at the bottom (that rhymes!) x

Yeah well, off topic bumping is against the forum policy

It seems like standards have slipped these last few years on bitcointalk.   I remember the mods more actively locking or moving threads etc.   This one should be locked on account of low iq.    I can't estimate the IQ of someone who finds "I'm a girl" to be a topic of conversation, but it sounds like a brain injured thing to say, and there should be some sort of threshold.

"I'm a girl" was not the original topic, and has not been the topic throughout either, it actually became an interesting thread in so many other ways. You obviously didn't read any of it.

HAHAHAHAHA I'M IN STITCHES READING THIS THREAD!!!!!

BUT also very disappointed everyone prefers asian girls all of a sudden. My ethnic heritage was only mentioned 5 times in this whoe thread #FAIL

Hey, you knew what you were in for when you signed up to a forum that has a 75 page long thread with hot asian girl photos in it.

I didn't see that thread! 75 pages, seriously? What's with Asian girls anyway? They're pretty and everything but it looks like you guys are obsessed, where does that extreme obsession come from, childhood manga memories?

Very amusing.

What you fail to notice is the fact that BTC is in a slow descent, with no bottom in sight.

Let's talk through the scenario, BTC keeps dropping (down 49% since July 3rd) that's more than 10% a month.

In response to that what is happening?

People spending their BTC? NO!

People selling their BTC? YES!

People continuing to hoard BTC waiting for it to come back? YES!

People mining any great quantity of BTC on their own? NO!

People cloud mining making tiny BTC profits? YES!

These things above never change and if they don't then BTC will be $150 in 4 months, then it becomes cost prohibitive for anyone but the huge farms like KNC to mine.

By June BTC will be down in the double digits ($85ish) and no one will be interested in it any longer.

You heard it here.

Seems like you've lost your drive & hunger for Bitcoin....what you don't understand is Bitcoin isn't just about how much it's worth. It's a concept which at the moment is suceeding maybe not on a huge level but if someone told you about this new concept 6 years ago and said within this amount of time it would reach highs of $1000 you would of laughed.
All it takes at the moment is a whale to delve into Bitcoin and spend a huge amount which will raise the value and bring more attention from media which means more people will be interested in Bitcoin.... or we have a major hack again or something similar of nature which would again bring media attention which would be seen by millions & again even though it's bad news many more people will of heard of Bitcoin and will search up on it.
You might be right it dropping down to double digits...but your not right on people not buying...a huge lot of people are buying Bitcoin. What I think is happening is a lot of people are using the payment processor bitpay which sells their Bitcoin for fiat as soon as they recieve it which decreases the value of Bitcoin. If people stop using bitpay & similar companies then we should see a rise again. Everyone thought bitpay was a great company but in actual facts it's damagining the Bitcoin value & community in general. There are a number of other major factors like more sell orders than buy order but thats obvious & talked about far more often than the point I brought up.

I lost thousands via BFL like a lot of ppl on here. Are you saying maybe that will pay for itself if the bad press makes a good effect in the long run? I guess it's a possibility although I havent seen any press on this BFL fiasco just yet.

Whoa! Stereotyping much? Not all girls are bitwhores, OKKK??

This might be the quote of the year! ( 2014 )  Grin

I have 4 KNC miners + a cute butterfly on the way (hopefully 2, they haven't arrived yet).
Please be a bit more welcoming to girls, with this sort of harsh stereotyping going on it's no wonder I can't find any girls on here.

This is very true ^^ . Most girls control the purse strings so ya ....girls should be more involved in BTC!

Thanks bbit! There should be an award for that me thinks Smiley

I agree you do deserve an award!  Grin

I see the "Male" on your profile is just to throw the scent of your estrogen filled posts off.

Heck, I'm a girl too in that case!

I'm a girl too.... Tee hee Cheesy

Glad to see so many girls appear all of a sudden, although I get a feeling some of you are just 'avin a laugh.

Men are providers ever since the cavemen , the concept is still the same, just different things are possessions now, not deer meat and stone tools, but crypto coins Smiley Men have to have possessions to provide for the family , that's the way it goes, our brains are wired differently. Okay now the feminists in here can start the attacks ! Smiley

I'm not a feminist per sei and I get it that guys are wired differently than us. But, stop hogging all the cool things!! Why do women always get associated with all the boring activities/hobbies?? It's like the best things in the world that I like doing have a "manly" tag attached to them. Sailing. Surfing. Writing music. Golf. Football. Rafting. aaand now BTC.
NOT FAIR how you guys hog the best stuff and you have your "boy toys" and rules like giving us a hard time when we want to join in Sad
640  Other / Off-topic / Re: Am I the only girl on here? : ( on: November 03, 2014, 07:49:35 PM
Well, looks like the discussion got derailed in the last two pages.

The treatment of women is relevant to the topic because I was advancing the theory that the majority of women on this forum are "stealth." That is: not announcing their gender at all. Women do get treated differently than men :
Why Aren't Women Advancing At Work? Ask a Transgender Person.
Quote from: Jessica Nordell
Ben Barres is a biologist at Stanford who lived and worked as Barbara Barres until he was in his forties. For most of his career, he experienced bias, but didn’t give much weight to it—seeing incidents as discrete events. (When he solved a tough math problem, for example, a professor said, “You must have had your boyfriend solve it.”) When he became Ben, however, he immediately noticed a difference in his everyday experience: “People who don't know I am transgendered treat me with much more respect,” he says. He was more carefully listened to and his authority less frequently questioned. He stopped being interrupted in meetings.

I am concerned that over 20 people saying "HI" can add up to something like this. It is attention you don't always want.

Loved the video, but what is that girl complaining about??? Wtf?? I wish guys here in the UK were more like that (maybe not walking next to me for five minutes like that guy did, that would freak me out). But seriously, getting ignored by EVERY guy is horrible too, it kills my self-esteem every time. The prettier you are the more they ignore you over here, it's like an unwritten rule in Britain. No wonder some girls in America have huge self-esteem even if they're not pretty. Come on British guys you can do better. And to all American guys out there, please don't change! Compliments are good, it's a shame some bitter girls cant appreciate that.

Generally, just saying "Hi" can not be considered harassment. Were some of the men in the video crossed the line is by demanding attention. For example, at about 19 - 27 seconds:
Quote from: Street HarassmentVideo - 10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Woman
Man in red shirt:
"Hey, what's up girl!
How you doing?
Somebody's acknowledging you for being beautiful.
You should say thank-you more!"

Communication in person starts with non-verbal cues. The woman in the video was dressed down, looking straight ahead (slightly downward), and walking with a purpose. Everything about that says "leave me alone."

While anti-social persons like myself may miss such cues, one or no word responses also hint that no conversation is wanted.

I personally found the SIRC Guide to Flirting instructive. I doubt extroverts need the advice though.

You're totally right, women always get treated differently. Let's change that. Change is whithin us. Smiley

About the video, I think it was rude of her not to acknowledge the compliment, she should have at least said thanks and keep walking. But maybe it's an American thing not to say thanks to everything all the time. In Britain it's the other way round, even if someone calls you an idiot it's rude not to acknowledge it haha
