I think we are going to break out of this in a massive downtrend.

keep in mind I am always wrong when it comes to this and this is just a sad attempt to get the bitcoin powers that be to prove me wrong again Smiley [\size]

Yup, I see 494, maybe 493 on bitstamp's horizon.
622  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 22, 2014, 05:44:26 AM
I see very little downside for the price for the next two months with a possible slight and brief exception. We (most likely IMO) are going sideways and up... get ready for rocket moon bull trains on mars by end of June at the latest.

People start to buy in tepidly at first and gain confidence as time goes on and price goes sideways and slightly up for a while. Soon, bad news doesn't seem to affect price at all and any good news seemingly shoots the price up with ease.

Same Mentor?

We've been screwed over royally by your actions Garrett. Those who bought lowball shares recently might even do ok with liquidation but those of us who have held for over a year or bought cogf or cogf2 are only realizing huge losses any way you spin it. I doubt many of us are going to just roll over and take it. We will get organized lawfully and come after you Garrett. Better break out your Casascius coins or something because just liquidation is not likely to cover it.

Is anyone based in Canada able to sue Garrett ?
If we all put some money together we sure have enough to do it.
You do not need to sue him. Just need to be able to report him to the FBI/SEC.

Why FBI ??
I don't get it.
Plus he lives in Canada so it would be the Canadian Security Intelligence Service.

He is in the US. Idaho or possibly Montana. The data center with the equipment is in Canada but I have no reason to believe Garrett is there.

dont wanna jump the gun, but after a stagnant day, some bidding is kicking off this reading, gutsy buying near 480 is paying off. Hopefully wave V takes us to 580-600 in the coming days.

Not only buy zone, but most likely the last time you will get coins for this low price.

If the conversation fail, it is time for legal action.

Yup. Once your lawyers get a hold of him he is very keen on making a settlement. I might be the only investor who has been made whole in this pile of fail.

So how much per share were you compensated? Were you made whole to the tune of .6 to 1.0 BTC per share by threatening legal force?

Second: I do NOT know what you mean by Exemplary lesson.
Oh! Wel, well, well...  Grin

It is decided, then.

In order to avoid collateral damage to innocent readers, I will deliver the Exemplary Lesson to @JayJuanGee by private message.  If he never shows up again in this forum, you will all know why.  If he survives (and I sincerely hope that he will), perhaps he will recover enough to tell you all how bad it was.  In either case, all the other sinners out there will have a chance to repent.

oh plz, come on, cut the crap dude.

I think HDBuck is ignoring me, but YES, it does seem pretty immature for a supposed professor to be engaging in communications that seem like veiled threats.

"Academic interest in bitcoin only. Not owner, not trader, very skeptical of its longterm success"  Yet almost exclusively posts in the wall observer thread. Seems legit. Why even bother talking to this person? I have yet to glean one useful bit of information from even one of his posts.

You may be correct - that engaging with him is a big waste of time.

I have been having a few battles with him regarding the contents of his posts, yet there were a few posts of his that caused me to consider matters a little bit differently (in other words I got some value out of them).  And, also, I had thought that it may be helpful to point out the deceptive aspects of the content of some of his posts, but that may be a big waste of time, too.

My dilemma is that I hate for some obvious misleading to go unchecked - even though it seems about half the posts in this thread are trolls or trollish in nature.

Don't worry , bitcoin will do what it is going to do with or without Jorge. Bitcoin doesn't give a shit.

Dude I've made a killing from his Chinese slumber posts.
Really?  Shocked

I did not intend them as trading advice, thye are just an idea that I have been testing and do not know whether it is worth anything.  I m glad (and relieved) that they worked for you.

Actually I was being facetious. I don't trust my trading skills enough at this point in time.

lol!

Yeah, because rape is really funny when it happens to a man right? hahahaahahaha

That is an apt handle you have chosen.

My money finally cleared, I'm curious to know what you guys would do at this moment if you were in my shoes.

Buy BTC now, don't take any advice from this forum, don't bother trying to draw lines on charts, don't day trade, don't react if the price swings rapidly in either direction, return in a couple of years from now to find yourself very well off.

I think that's pretty sound advice  Cheesy
seriously though.

confirmed Cheesy

You can stretch them again , use a different time period , change the colors , but no way you can get those too match.

I really don;t understand why people have this need of matching current events with previous ones in order to "see' the future.

Looking at all time log charts on MtGox and also last 2 year log charts on Bitstamp. You don't see a pattern there? You don't see how the past may indicate the future? Really?

635  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: I didn't pay capital gains tax on bitcoin sales to IRS today on: April 17, 2014, 05:14:07 AM
Well, it happened OP.

I took my garbage out to the road yesterday and nobody came to pick it up.

I called the government today and asked why they did not pick up my garbage. They told me "some guy didn't pay taxes on his bitcoins so we don't have enough money to pick up garbage"

Thanks a lot.

I wish government wasn't the only entity that could provide garbage service. Yet, according to some people, it apparently is.

Elwar are you ignorant, or just plain brainwashed beyond hope?  Or perhaps too apathetic to do some research.

Are you so ignorant as to really believe the income tax pays for garbage collection?Huh

Nope, city taxes do that...

(eye roll) Another brainwashed lemming.

Have you considered Elwar may be using the literary technique sometimes referred to as  sarcasm?

How much fiat is left and how far can it take us?

Why, 238,900 miles, of course.

Next stop... fiat will take us somewhere between  56 million kilometers and 401 million kilometers. Fiat is unlimited. Welcome to scarcity.

Looking at the 2y log chart on stamp there are almost identical features in the price movements between Apr13 bubble top to late June and ATH 'til today. The longer view may hold some clues but also may obscure the finer details of price movements. Pretty cool though.

Yeah, I see. it's really uncanny..... are you an EW analyst? this market has been a pleasure to trade.

No... far from it, but I'm interested in learning more. I'm a very early adopter who is mostly holding cold storage but without reason to panic sell even in deep, sustained drops. Happy trading!

yeah the loot to be had by holding is fantastic. I always hold 80%, and day trade with 20% on leverage. managed to almost double my position so far.
when learning about EW or TA, best to remember that they all have fundamental motives. it's pretty ambiguous otherwise.

That is a fantastic record so far. Congrats. My experience with bitcoin has been one of getting a (sometimes costly) education, but wouldn't change it for the world..
