621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Look how low they have stooped. on: January 22, 2018, 01:27:38 PM
Surely this website is satire? Do you really think they're actually trying to convince people that a rogue AI, or aliens created bitcoin? People must be woefully ignorant to the current state of AI technology to believe than an AI could possibly have created and distributed blockchain technologies. We barely have AI that can solve recaptcha.
622  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Wallet and platform for 100 low value currencies ?! on: January 22, 2018, 12:57:29 PM
Not many wallets support hundreds of different currencies, I'd suggest opening an account on an exchange such as bittrex, binance or poloneix. These tend to support far more cryptos than even the best wallets. Or you could get a hardware wallet such as Trezor which has good support for a bunch of cryptos.

Aren't you the same person scamming people by offering high value steam games for $1, and nobody has ever received one? I'm surprised you haven't been negged yet as you're clearly incapable of being trusted or offering a useful service to the forum.

Maybe somebody should post that thread in your comments and see how your subscribers like your BS?
624  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is it advisable to download wallet in external hard drive? on: January 21, 2018, 11:51:06 AM
I would instead recommend purchasing a hardware wallet, than using an external hard drive to store your wallet files.

There are two main ones available, the trezor: https://trezor.io/

Or the Ledger (preferably Nano S): https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products/ledger-nano-s

Currently the Nano S is sold out, but you can still purchase them from overpriced resellers. Using a hardware wallet is much safer, due to the encryption and password protection they offer, hence are not as easily compromised as an external HDD. Plus, they support multiple coins, unifying your assets into one easy to access place.
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The inevitable collapse of the MLM Lending model on: January 21, 2018, 11:42:03 AM
Yes, Bitconnect was reminiscent of the typically ponzi triangle, their rates were clearly unsustainable and have been called out numerous times in the past for this.

I think in future we will need an asset backed lending service, whether this be fiat, other currencies, formal loan agreements etc, as the risk of default with a crypto loan is so unusually high due to the nigh-anonymity. I suspect some levels of anonymity will have to be lost in order for a truly successful lending service to flourish. Though I'll be curious to see how it is eventually done, I will stay clear until it has proven itself safe (in the long term) for its investors.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin saving is not safe on: January 20, 2018, 01:47:20 PM
You're only going to get hacked if you do not take precautionary measures. Do you know how much credit card theft there is? How many bank accounts are compromised? I would say the risk of being hacked is roughly similar to these.

Simple, store your bitcoins in a hardware wallet such as a trezor or Nano S, and you wont have to worry about online attacks. You spreading this misinformation is what hurts the progress of bitcoin.

I would like the opportunity to join this project, the ability to pay for accommodation with crypto would be a welcome addition to the cryptocurrency industry.

Edit: Avatar has been updated, but it will take a while for it to show on bitcointalk servers.

This thread should be renamed to Cryptopia, home of the pump and dumps.
629  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Quantum Computer vs Bitcoin on: January 19, 2018, 07:34:50 AM
Currently, quantum computers such as Google's D-wave operates at 2000qb/s, which is impressive compared to its predecessor, but still nothing close to the power required to crack strong encryption algorithms.

Right now, quantum computer are in their infancy, however in future, once competition increases, and machine learning algorithms can be applied in non-vector calculations, we'll see a new generation in computing power.

631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin dominance dropping hard on: January 18, 2018, 04:31:36 PM
Looks like the total market cap of all cryptos is increasing, even though bitcoin dominance is sub 40% it is likely that the advent of new cryptos is diluting the distribution of cash. If bitcoin can maintain a 35% share despite there being over 300 cryptos now, I would say that it's definitely in a massive advantage.
632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin dominance dropping hard on: January 17, 2018, 12:32:23 PM
Bitcoin dominance decreases because there is an increase in altcoins, this does not mean Bitcoin is failing. By saying BTC is failing because its dominance is sub 40% is analogous to saying the US dollar is failing because its value is decreasing against the Chinese yuan. If the total amount of money in a system increases, the contribution of each party as a percentage will usually decrease.
633  Economy / Speculation / Re: Thinking about selling? Good time? on: January 16, 2018, 02:13:07 PM
Do not sell while the market is down, sell when the market is nearing its peak (when the peak is flattening). If you sell now, you will actualize your loss, if you hold you may recoup your virtual losses.

HODL FOREVER.

Signature and avatar have been applied, I'll check back periodically to see if I've been accepted.

Edit: It seems the Sr Member signature is too tall, it needs to be modified, as it is cut off right now.

I am excepting Ethereum, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin equivalent to the euro. Repayment can be made in any cryptocurrency

So you're not accepting Ethereum, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin? Or are you just another broken English scammer?

Dumb ass, nobody is giving you anything.

638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mark Zuckerberg is looking into cryptocurrency ::) ::) ::) on: January 12, 2018, 06:24:52 PM
Mark Zuckerberg is a billionaire, he doesn't need to invest in crypto, the only interests he may have are utilizing some of the technologies in his corporation.
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LUNYR - Decentralized World Knowledge Base on Ethereum - Completed! on: January 11, 2018, 04:57:17 PM
Love the concept, one of the major issues is the hoarding of information by various institutions, research facilities and organizations. I believe that the equal distribution of information will be more beneficial to the advancement of technology than the competition brought about by selfishly holding intellectual property and proprietary methods.

Good luck with the campaign, I genuinely hope it succeeds as only publishing new research to journals is a flawed method, and inhibits proper distribution of funding.

Just had a browse of the announcement thread, definitely seems like an interesting concept. Particularly as AI, VR, AR, machine learning and neural networks etc are all part of personal interests as I study software engineering and product development. Also, pointing out that roadmap is missing from the ANN thread.
