641  Economy / Economics / Re: Could massive use of Electricity be the end or new high for Bitcoin on: November 24, 2017, 06:38:18 AM
Hello everyone,
Today I came across a post https://powercompare.co.uk/bitcoin/ and became wary of potential drawbacks of increased Bitcoin mining to global electricity supply or with its reduced mining because of "caps" on electricity use lead to high appreciation of its value. Because its going to be a concern in coming days if only by 2020 mining will be using entire global electricity supply. Check the article and lets discuss the future of BTC as well as crypto!

People have found ways to use the byproduct (heat) of mining bitcoins to their own benefits. There are areas that are much colder in which people are using mining in order to heat their homes. These innovative ways to use heat will probably be extremely useful when it comes to a discussion about environmental negatives of mining and such. I doubt that this issue will ever cause the true end of bitcoin.
642  Economy / Services / Re: Please suggest captcha solving sites on: November 24, 2017, 01:38:30 AM
I've tried the searching engine, but what I have fount is mostly outdated. So please suggest a captcha solving or similar sites.

If I may ask, what is your purpose on the sites? Do you want to make some money off it? If so, there are some people who post about these job offers on the services section, you can take a look over there. Honestly, the captcha solving sites are fairly useless if you're trying to make money. You make too little in return for the amount of work that you put into it even though it's fairly braindead stuff.
643  Economy / Speculation / Re: 5 digits on: November 24, 2017, 12:02:05 AM
I am just wondering if there will be a 10k selloff or if it will eat straight through it, unlike sub 5k levels, BTC has become a lot more tame - slow but steady

I doubt that there will be a selloff at 10k. People now have been predicting prices that go past 50k, all kinds of people have stated that bitcoin will hit 100k. Because of this, I think there is inspiration for people to continue buying or holding even at 10k. With that in mind, it's much more likely that we'll see a continuous steady growth rather than a drop off at 10k.
644  Economy / Speculation / Re: 5 digits on: November 23, 2017, 11:48:42 PM
Seems that bitcointalk is turning bearish another time, like there are some psychological resistance when btc come near the 10- 100 -1000 -10000 -100000 usd milestones.

Fortunately, bitcoin is just an honey badger, he will eat this reptilian thinking without giving a fuck.

I claim 5 digits soon.

I agree with you that there is psychological resistance whenever bitcoin reaches some major price. Honestly, we've been seeing this for such a while that it doesn't even make me blink anymore. Bitcoin will continue to do well as long as others keep supporting it. Furthermore, all that matters right now is that we see some support for bitcoin as a currency so that there is no need for it to compete with fiat. I hope to see it on the same level as fiat soon.
645  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] PS4, Portable Projector, Bose QC25 etc on: November 23, 2017, 07:31:37 PM
All items still available and ready to ship. Can meet face to face in London for local buyers. Will also have a few iPhones available soon (iPhone 7, a few iPhone 6s models) once we get our upgrades  Grin
Feel free to make reasonable offers. Accepting BTC, LTC, ETH, XMR and VIA.

I live in the US, but I'm very interested in those Bose QC25s. Could you let me know what the approximate shipping costs would be for it? I'll decide on whether or not to buy after you let me know.

Thanks!
646  Economy / Economics / Re: Some Bitcoin owners do not own Bitcoin. on: November 23, 2017, 07:56:35 AM
I think most people already understand that as long as their btc is on exchanger, they not fully own it until they move into wallet like blockchain/electrum,etc
They put their btc for trading purpose and after sometime they will move btc eventually

I mean technically the BTC is theirs isn't it? If the exchange is just the platform in which the bitcoins are stored, doesn't that mean that the exchange needs to provide the user with a personal wallet for deposits and such?

I see what you're saying, but In my opinion, the person using the exchange still owns the bitcoin.
647  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin=easy money on: November 22, 2017, 08:03:01 AM
If you are moving around in the network marketing industry you will have heard of Bitcoin the online currency. Bitcoin is a digital currency, this means you will not receive actual coins or notes like you do with a traditional currency. You can start today itself to make easy money.

I beg to disagree with this, first you have to work/invest to earn bitcoin. Even airdrop make you work before receiving one. If you have earned bitcoin without doing anything please pm me how. Bitcoin is valuable and there is no easy way to earn one. I bet you haven't tried investing some.

I agree that bitcoin is hard to get into if you don't know what you're doing. To make an ample amount of money, you have to have a good amount to invest in the first place or some form of constant income stream. Once you have the bitcoin, however, the easy money part comes in with holding. It's so simple that people can't help but criticize it.
648  Economy / Goods / Re: A Sweet Gift to Remember! on: November 22, 2017, 07:33:33 AM
These look awesome! If you are accepting Bitcoin you should update your post saying you'll accept escrow. Buying through your website, people have recourse should their order go wrong via chargebacks. Using an escrow provided by trusted members of this forum will keep everyone safe, and will get you more business in Bitcoin at least. Good luck sir these are beautiful!

how would i go about to doing the escrow?

Try heading over to the services section and looking for a trusted member who has an escrow thread up. They will likely be able to escrow the deal for you. If you're new to the forums and don't know what an escrow is, it's basically a middle man. The buyer sends the escrow the money, you send the buyer the item, when the buyer receives the item, he tells the escrow to release funds. It's basically just a way to make sure both you and the buyer don't get scammed.
649  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: help me to make a portfolio under $1000 on: November 22, 2017, 07:23:25 AM
Main options include:

Cloud mining on sites like hashnest (watch out for ponzis and other scam sites though).

Investments in trading bots or online casinos to get a good profit.

Also, you can lend for colateral.

From what I've been hearing, it seems like cloud mining and casual mining in general just doesn't make sense anymore and isn't profitable. Plus, as you mentioned in your reply, there are so many scams that have a facade of a cloud mining site, so OP would really need to be careful with that.

I think offering loan services on this forum would be a great way to grow whatever you currently have op. You should check out the loans and lending section here.
650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin bubble on: November 22, 2017, 07:08:37 AM
Bitcoin now is too big for a bubble or the risk is ever the same?

One thing: I believe this should be posted in the speculation section, but it should be fine for right now.

Bitcoin may always be a form of bubble. There will always be whales trying to buy more and encourage many people to keep buying. What follows these bubbles is correction periods, which do even out the price to much more of a "true value" even though there is no physical backing for bitcoin. This cycle will just continue to happen until we see a huge drop or some stabilization in the bitcoin price through some form of centralization (which defeats the purpose of the coin and should not happen).

651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 88% of Japanese have heard of bitcoin -- how about your country? -- on: November 22, 2017, 07:00:33 AM
I'd be curious if Bitcoin Forum members can chime in on what the estimated awareness might be for their region or country:

  https://news.bitcoin.com/survey-japanese-bitcoin/

a quote:
"A recent survey of 10,000 men and women across Japan shows that 88% of them have heard of bitcoin. Among those that have bitcoin, 47% said that they have used it in retail stores but long-term investment is most respondents’ main reason for purchasing bitcoin."

In terms of knowledge, I think the United States is too large to have a similar percentage (88%) of population that knows about bitcoin. The information about the coin is definitely being spread like hot cakes right now. ICO's and cryptocurrencies are a major hot topic for all kinds of investors right now just due to the returns that people get on them. However, that doesn't mean everyone knows about it. There is a significant population in the US filled with farmers and such that may not have the best education.
652  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I Be Scared Of Hackers If I Have Lot of BTC. on: November 22, 2017, 06:55:09 AM
I am hearing a lot of users' complaint about having a problem transferring their BTC, Nowadays I am not selling it because I am "Hodling" it for future. But I am a bit of scared now because all this news about the people's BTC being hacked.

What should I do If My wallet or BTC gets hacked?

There's not much you can do if your wallet gets hacked. The only thing you can do right now is just make sure that never happens. If you're storing a lot of bitcoin, you should try to use a hardware wallet to store a majority of it. There probably isn't a need to keep a majority of it on an online address or something with a lot of security flaws. Of course, hackers will come at any option that's given to them. Just try to make it impossible for them to get to the goods.
653  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is is still a good time to Invest in Bitcoin? on: November 22, 2017, 06:53:22 AM
I'm watching the bitcoin for a few months now, saw it going up from $2,000 to over $8,000 in just 6 months.

What shook me up this morning is a notification I got by email saying it's over $8,000!! Bitcoin is up by 43% in a single month.

The big question is, will we see $10K soon, perhaps before the end of the year, or what are you guys expecting to see in the next few months?

I've been trading Forex in the past, today mainly US Stocks, but have no clue what to expect from Bitcoin.
Is it still a good time to buy, or should I wait more and see what's going on in the next 6 months? Any thoughts?

Try to hop in when you see some price drops. What that does is create a rebound price because of all the people who want to buy when btc is going low. This protects us from a huge drop as well as gives you the option of getting in at a really good price. I think it would be best to buy soon, especially because I believe that 2018 will be a steady growth for bitcoin, at least at the beginning of the year.
654  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do I need not to give up my bitcoins? How does that going to benefit in the on: November 22, 2017, 06:48:40 AM
Why do I need not to give up my bitcoins? How does that going to benefit in the long run??

Holding allows you to get the benefits of the price fluctuations. Imagine if bitcoin burst up and ended up at 10,000$ tomorrow. If you bought at 8000$ today, then your current amount evaluation in USD would be a 25% increase. If you were to give up your bitcoins and sell at 8000 again, you would lose out on the amount that you would have made. I suppose you should pull out of btc if you don't believe it has a future, but that's a personal decision.
655  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin - New form of Budget for poor countries on: November 22, 2017, 04:06:31 AM
Hello guys, I often read news about poor countries and a new idea came to my mind.
Imagine countries which have budget not more than 10 billion (milliard). Usually these countries import products from other countries and use USD for this. So some of them has national currency and their exchange rate to USD often changes (sometimes on bad side). If their economy fails on some steps, it will affect a lot to people + they depend on nat currency/usd exchange rate. National bank has to sell some usd in order to lower exchange rate and make it a little bit stable but it isn't fix.
I want to say that if they officially invest in bitcoin (they had to do it some months ago).. Imagine price is 2000$, budget is in bitcoin and after some months it rised to 6000$, they get 3x budget.
But no one cares about that.. Bitcoin is a way for them to develope quickly in an ultra fast way.
You can say that since you do able to know bitcoin and do have knowledge about on its benefits and usage but we do know that not all people do have the same knowledge and awareness specially into bitcoin which they didnt even know that this thing do exist. If they do then for sure they will decide to invest without any hesitations because of the opportunity that it gives. This is reality and we cant change the fact that there are people who would really stay on their status quiet for some time.

I agree that the concept could be a bit too hard to introduce everyone in the country to it. We may know all about BTC, but for those who don't have access to the internet and all of these bullish and bear runs with bitcoin, they may not know how to keep track of their prices. I'd also assume that countries that have a budget of not more than 10 billion probably have other national issues to tend to, so I don't know if introducing bitcoin right away would be the best idea.
656  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: GPU Rig For Sale - 5X 380, 1600 PSU [FOR SALE| OFFERS WELCOME] on: November 19, 2017, 09:38:41 AM
Do you sell cards separately? I am interested solely on 1 GPU. Where are you shipping from?

Currently not selling cards in this rig separately  but have a R9 390 that I could sell if you are interested in only a single card

Could you message me with the price that you're looking for for that r9 390? Trying to future proof my current gaming rig.
657  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin versus other offline currencies on: November 19, 2017, 01:54:08 AM
As a NEWBIE, how would you explain bitcoin as against other offline currencies?
Which one has more market value and why do you think so ?

It's really up to what you want to use each for. Considering that you're probably talking about fiat, I would say that if you want to use something more as a currency, use fiat. It's accepted much more across multiple platforms; it's what the sellers normally expect you to use to pay. If you're looking to get a form of payment that ranges in the evaluation and one that works as an asset/investment as well, work with bitcoin. You'll have gains in the future and be able to use it then.
658  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will increase to $100,000 says expert on: November 19, 2017, 01:26:08 AM
As per the report written by max keiser of RT.com. He says, the bitcoin will increase to $100,000 and only top 20 coins will remain stable.

Keiser also blames bitcoin cash for misusing bitcoin name and it is just alt coin and doesn't hold for long time.

see report here https://www.rt.com/business/410252-bitcoin-god-gift-keiser/
I am really not sure about that. That's a huge value for a currency knowing that Bitcoin in the first plac3 is a currency, a digital currency. I think its market value won't increase as that much since we don't know until when will the increase on its value will continue or last. I am expecting that its market value will be more expensive in the future but I don't really feel that it will reach as that much.

I as well think for now that saying that bitcoin will hit 100,000 is a bit of a stretch. We don't really know where it's going and how much it'll go up in long term. For all we know, we could end up seeing no bitcoin in 5 years or bitcoin in the moon in 5 years. There is just so much volatility that it's very hard to tell the overall future price of bitcoin far into the future. For now, I think sticking to a 10,000 dollar evaluation makes a lot more sense as an evaluation in my opinion.
659  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's the lowest value you think bitcoin will fall to before the end of 2017? on: November 19, 2017, 12:55:50 AM
The value of Bitcoin has been on the upward trend in the last few weeks, what's the lowest value you think it will fall to before the year 2017 runs out?

I feel like we have a very strong recovery point at 6000. If people see a drop at 7000, they will wait it out to drop a bit more to purchase at an ultimate low point. A lot of people state that they regret not buying Bitcoin when it was under 7,000. If given the opportunity, I doubt we will drop any more than 6000.

On the flip side, I believe that we can hit 9000-10000 if we keep seeing some steady growth from bitcoin as we've seen after this false fork.
660  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Paypal accept bitcoin on: November 19, 2017, 12:53:13 AM
1) Do you think about this news will happen ?
2) Do you think paypal may accept bitcoin in next years (3-7) or it is impossible ?
3) Do you think bitcoin will be better than paypal ? when will happen ?
4) which better for now PP or BTC ?

1) I don't think this will happen any time soon. If it does, I think paypal will end up fining it because it's not in their best interest to hold bitcoin.
2) It's possible that if bitcoin gains some higher ground and it's a lot less volatile that Paypal would accept it, but I don't think that will happen soon. Maybe by 5 years? Not too sure right now.
3) I don't think Paypal is better than bitcoin, but I do believe that paypal has a larger user base, and it will have a larger userbase as long as fiat exists.
4) For now, Paypal is better if you're using fiat and it's accepted much more widely than bitcoin is. Bitcoin is better if you're looking for much more of an investment.
