So I see the variance is still pretty noticeable... Would anyone be willing to share rough weekly/monthly profits and their mhash which is pointed at p2pool? I'm one of those seeing is believing kinda guys. When I was just mining one gpu, I was getting about .03 more/day than I would have on PPS/Prop at a big pool with fees, so I was happy, but now that I'm on 4 gpu's and over 3x more mhash (1350 now), I'm just curious as to if I will still make my calculated (based off of BTC calculators and such) ~.9BTC per day?
642  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3600 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: March 03, 2012, 06:06:18 AM
I'm trying to figure out if my cards are defective or if something else is wrong on my end.

I have 1.38GH/s and not including variance I should have around 0.93bitcoins/24h.

On deepbit the last 24h has had 31min on average for solved block and I have had 0.71bitcoins/24h.

According my calculations I have 76% vs 100% for no variance for 1.38GH/s.

Is the above normal or is something wrong with my PC?

I'm having the exact same issue. Right around 1.35ghash/sec and I was at about -20% of the expected BTC payout. I've seen variance on the pool before, but the most I've ever seen on deepbit was +/- .07 btc/24h. Not sure what's up...

+1.

I came back to P2pool last night (as I'm certain Deepbit was stealing my hashes. The is no way 1300mhash/sec makes you .66 BTC/day. >____> )

Anyway, added 1.3ghash/sec last night. I might say I very much like the "expected time until share" and "expected time until block." Very nice additions.

ha, I dont mind cheap.

I do have another realted question. I've got the 4 desktops, and a single screen, keyboard and mouse. What is the best setup to manage all 4? Do I set one comp up as the "home" computer, and manage all the other from there? By manage I mean monitor hashrate, temp etc.

I would keep the monitor, KB and mouse centralized with the rigs around it. When you want to work on a rig, just plug the monitor, KB and mouse in to the desired machine. Typically, I run my miner headless (other than setup) and monitor hashrates and such through a different computer.

Figured I would let you guys know that I got it all figured out and I would send a thanks to everyone who helped! They needed the short.

Thank you! That is much easier than my idea. Lol

What would be the best method for shorting those? I'm not certain what the best method would be.
648  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Need a little riser help... on: February 25, 2012, 12:52:28 AM
I got a pair of risers today and three 5830 extremes. My rig has a Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P (2 x16 slots and 3 1x slots). Windows recognizes the two cards in the 16x slots, but not the 1x slots? When running off of risers, is it just plug and play?

This is my first time doing this, so thanks in advance!

Got what I needed today. Thanks everyone!

Bump! Still looking.

Questionable final price (IMO 5850's are not $150 cards), but congrats on the sell. Smiley

Thank you! Pm sent. Still looking though.

Still looking. Smiley I'd like these for my rig soon. Make it $10 USD shipped?
654  Economy / Computer hardware / WTB two PCIe 1x to PCIe 16x adapter/extender on: February 15, 2012, 04:38:40 AM
I need a couple of these for mining cards. I'm not willing to pay the outrageous prices over at "cablesrus" so I'm turning to the rest of the population here. I can get them for cheap on Ebay, but I'd like to help out people that are a little "closer" to me. I'd like to get two for ~$8 shipped to me, but I'm willing to negotiate a bit. Thanks in advance!
655  Economy / Computer hardware / WTB 1 or 2 5830's - $80 each Max on: February 14, 2012, 05:00:42 AM
Looking for US sellers of HD 5830's. I would prefer a brand that offers a warranty based upon serial number in case I need to RMA the cards (Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, a few others I can't remember so offer up). Not looking to spend more than $80 shipped. I'd like one and will think about buying two (if the price is right (think $155 shipped for two)). Payment will be via Paypal. I know it's slightly frowned upon, but I haven't amassed enough BTC to buy the parts I want yet.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you! No dummy plugs necessary?
658  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 5850 + 5870 Mining on: February 11, 2012, 09:51:16 PM
I'm always searching for cards to add to my mining fleet, but with the inflated prices of 5870's it's difficult to find the cards in the price range I want. I can occasionally find 5850's though. I have space in two rigs for one card each. One rig is empty (not currently running ) and the other is running with a 5870 right now. I would add to the running rig first, obviously, but my question becomes this:

If I'm running a 5870 and and 5850 in the same rig, will the 5870 only produce the mhash of the 5850? I'm wondering because when you crossfire a 5850 and a 5870, the 5870 drops to the clocks/performance of the 5850. But is crossfire required for mining, or can I simply plug the card in and the device manager will see it, and I start mining?

Is anyone currently doing this? If so I would sincerely appreciate any and all advice you can give me. Thanks in advance!!!
