Handing off the baton? Yeah right.

The baby boomer generation is set on sucking every penny through their unsustainable pensions and the current situation with social security.

As my university professors warned us, our generation will be left holding an empty bag.

The pensions are unsustainable and will NOT continue for Gen X.

Gen X, it is wisest if you see the debacle you have been placed in. Tuition has risen to record levels, and in most cases graduates will be 30 years old until their student loans are paid off. Don't rely on pensions, social security, or any of that other nonsense.

Lol@ having student loans paid off by the age of 30.  Try 45.

+1: If you do some postgraduate studies you might still be in school until you are 28 and then you can defer payments while you are unemployed looking for a job, and then there is income-based payments, so If you have a couple kids you can make the national average income and be assessed a minimum payment of $0. What is this repaying student loans you are talking about?

The average person has to pay off their students loan, one way or another. Smiley

It helps your credit score, anyways.

662  Economy / Economics / Re: Proposed Altcoin Chargeback System for Businesses on: October 26, 2013, 07:05:25 AM

So are you for the Escrow as the Third Party.... or the Business Wallet?

Something to note:
The Escrow Service will take a % of every transaction, thus $$ that the Business will never see, and so The Business will raise their prices to offset this loss of income, effectively passing the fee to the customer.

The Business Wallet version lets the Business see every single cryptocoin, and only loses out if they are found at fault in a valid claim. If the Chargeback Agency is government funded, then this Agency would be (should be) a neutral Third Party with no vested interest to make a profit.

Escrow as a third party.

% fees is fine, it didn't stop hundreds of thousands of eBay sellers from using SquareTrade or similar services.

The chargeback agency will never be a government funded, I've never heard of such a thing.

663  Economy / Economics / Re: Proposed Altcoin Chargeback System for Businesses on: October 26, 2013, 07:00:39 AM
As a business owner I can tell you that customer fraud is Rampant and they often use chargebacks and threats of chargebacks to get free stuff.  Some customers game the system so badly that it is likely they pay for almost nothing they order online.

The cost, of course, is passed on to the honest customers.  That is the only way a business can stay in business.

By putting the onus on the customer to do due diligence and only trade with reputable businesses, the way is much more clear.  Reputable businesses work with you to solve problems that may arise.  With bitcoin they do not have heavy handed credit card companies who profit from chargebacks and give customers free reign to commit fraud.

Consider this: is a 10 Million dollar company going to try and cheat you on a $20 item?  No.  If they do they won't be in business very long as word of mouth is #1.  In addition, that is alot of work in order just to make a couple bucks.  They just don't do it and its simply not worth their time and effort.

Would a customer try to cheat a 10 Million dollar company out of a $20 item?  Yes.  Many hundreds do as a matter of course.

My humble opinion based on real world experience.  Your results / beliefs may vary but I believe that if we eliminate the chargeback customer fraud problem then prices will fall for all of us honest people in the long run.

Yes, it happens.

PayPal is an all to familiar realm for customers to scam eBay sellers by claiming they received damaged or fake items.

Some people will complain about anything for a freebie.

I've found credit card companies to usually be fair in the chargeback process from a business owners point of view. But there will be always those who are there to game the system from the start and pull crap unfortunately.

I ain't hating, just think Kouye is acting like a douche. As you said, it's obvious he was getting donations. Asking him to pay back is a slap in the face, infact it's down right insensitive and asshole-ish.

Kouye, the Kanye West of Bitcointalk.

Will you tip me with either:

- 0.1BTC
- A full report of your investigating files about on BFL, that we are all waiting for eagerly, still

If I end up being right? Smiley

Guy has gone silent, while still checking forum everyday. That's another red flag.
I'm pretty confident he scammed all the "donators", here.

Aren't you?

Negative, I don't tip insincere people like you.

LOL. Really?

You were badgering him a couple posts ago about posting on here and not working (which he is according to his posts, full time).
Now you badger him for not posting. WTF.

No, it seems you are only interested in putting down people. Maybe you should try helping out the less fortunate, it will earn you some good karma, something you desperately lack.

Stop using the word scam so much, you're wearing out the word. Next you'll be posting about how you got scammed at McDonald's because they forgot to put napkins in your Happy Meal.

Talk to you soon, Kanye, um, I mean Kouye. Smiley

That is crazy.

NSA can look up Jason's cell phone and email records and see who he was talking or emailing around this time to pinpoint who it was... not smart, but then again, probably not real.

Really, someone would not go to such lengths to hide their identity, and then blow it by meeting with Jason who tweets it, LOL.
666  Economy / Economics / Re: Proposed Altcoin Chargeback System for Businesses on: October 25, 2013, 06:04:47 AM
Sounds good.

I think it will basically be companies acting as different escrows.

Kind of like SquareTrade for eBay.

Users will lean towards a particular escrow company based on reputation and fairness. If an escrow makes too many unpopular decisions regarding chargebacks, word will spread.

How the hell did this turn into a debate about green energy?

This topic of entry-level mining, is quickly becoming Obama-fied.

Gee, thanks for the advice.  Why do you think I'm dicking around with Bitcoin?  It should be pretty obvious to most of us Gen-X'ers that we need to be looking out for our own asses since nobody else is going to be.  I practically spit on the floor when anyone tried to goad me into participating in the 401k program at my various places of work over the last decade.  I'd place a pretty big bet that unless I'm eating cat food that money will be allocated to someone else per a 'means test' regime.  I did, in fact, by rejecting the tax break bait.

I LOL'd when I read about you spitting on the floor when goaded with a 401k. Cheesy

That's funny man.

But seriously, there are rumors 401k is going to become open game for the government to seize to payoff government debt, a la Cypress banks style.

401K isn't all bad. You get to differ taxes by participating in it (depending on your tax situation, consult an honest accountant), so if the money would have gone to the tax man, anyways, it can't hurt.

But yeah, you aren't the only one pissed off at being treated as a "debt slave", working to support the baby boomers, while you will be left with little.

I say, Gen X needs to press harder with developing internet companies, like Facebook and Twitter. If there is an advantage younger people have its their tech savyness.

Let the geezers have their Social Security money. They can invest it into their precarious 401ks buying into Bitcoin ETFs Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

rpietila, great posts, very informative.

I can't wait til the Bitcoin 500 or 1000 (like Forbes 500) comes out! Smiley

670  Economy / Economics / Re: my grand plan on: October 25, 2013, 05:43:17 AM
This is why it is best to invest using the "basket method." (TM)

First Basket: $10,000
Long on position of Bitcoin. Never sell! (Or, if you must, sell at $1,000-1200).

Second Basket: $10,000
Mid-range positioning. Sell only after at least 1 year. Sell when it reaches around $400-600 the purchase price.

Third Basket: $5,000
Use this for short term trading (day-trading) to ride short term rises.

Using this system, you can prevent impulse buying and selling, and really enjoy the benefits of long term appreciation.

Non exist at the moment, I'm afraid.

There has been some discussion about "making one," but no one has stepped up to the plate, yet.

With the supports in place, I do not think we will ever see prices below 130 again.

Potential for 260 around May 2014.
674  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: October 25, 2013, 05:12:33 AM
I'm late Gen-X.  I see us as stuck in the middle between the boomers who are retiring now and want the system to continue and the millenials who have become debt serfs trapped between more student loan debt, higher housing costs and lower job prospects than any previous generation faced.

The millenials have every reason to revolt if they are smart. I'm not sure what direction us Gen-Xers will take. On one hand we are more established and want the system to continue, on the other hand we know it will unravel before our time is up.

LOL.

675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why aren't the worlds richest people buying up all the coins? on: October 25, 2013, 05:05:18 AM
I do not think we are very far off from Bitcoin finding itself into the portfolios of the wealthy.

Financial planners throughout the world will soon be saying, "Your portfolio currently consists of 10% gold, 40% S&P 500, 20% in real estate, and 30% in Bitcoin."

677  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 2 BTC Loan with Collateral 25% interest in one month on: October 25, 2013, 04:51:04 AM
I depends on the domain. I give you an simple example like ripplelabs.org and ripplelabs.net. Tradefortress agreed to buy the 2 domains for 6 BTC! from NWO. But NWO sell it to others for even higher price!  See the feedback of NWO for proof.

That is a bad example. If the owner of RippleLabs wanted to, he could easily initiate a trademark infringement claim and have those domains seized, as long as he has RippleLabs registered/trademarked.

That is why the owner of google.org or .net would lose the domain so fast it would make their head spin.

But, hey, if you are so confident in the value of your domains, list them on Sedo.com and see how much they go for.

You already know what I and others on here think. Smiley
678  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 2 BTC Loan with Collateral 25% interest in one month on: October 25, 2013, 04:45:58 AM
Those domains are not worth the registration price you paid. Sorry Sad

Words coming from an indentity thief/scammer.. I doubt if you own one domain. Have sold one domain  or have you bought one domain before? You better shut up you have no credibility.

Hahaha Cheesy

Looks like I touched a nerve.

Sorry to be the purveyor of bad news, but, anyway you cut it, your domains are not worth the reg price you paid. Might as well let them drop.

Interesting you ask. In fact, I own over 200 domains, so I know what I'm taking about.

Take my advice and others. Only a fool holds on to worthless domains.

Try reading a domainers forum and learn how to buy domains correctly. Oh, and good luck in life. Smiley

Kouye, he was asking for donations so I doubt even the donors expected the money back.
