661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: December 22, 2013, 04:48:19 PM
Yeah, I see now.  I might suggest that you try a different pool.  I am on SBC Cryptopool.it.  I have also been on coin-base.org and SBC Cryptoculture.net.  All three have proven reliable.  All three use the same dashboard and have a support tab where you can get help.

Cryptopool is the smallest with a hashrate of < 4 MH/s and 20 miners
Coin-base is second with a hashrate of ~ 13 MH/s and 49 miners
Cryptoculture is the biggest with a hashrate of ~ 150 MH/s and 200 miners

LOL!!! If Cryptopool gets any smaller, I'll be paying a fee for solo-mining.  As it is now I'm at about 50% of the total hashrate.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: December 22, 2013, 04:26:18 PM
has anyone noticed problem with accounting rewards on http://stablecoin.miners-pool.eu pool?
I'm mining there since yesterday and all was OK, but now it looks like I'm not getting any rewards Sad

I can see my shares in pool stats, last block was mined 22/12 17:01:43 and was found by myself!
Same time my last credit in transaction history was 2013-12-22 05:01:25 and after last block was found I got no unconfirmed coins

can anyone confirm you're seeing the same thing? I have only 0.71% invalid shares so can't see this being an issue my end (and it was working fine until this morning).

update:
definitely something's not right, another two blocks found and I got 0 reward
There may be a problem if you haven't received anything after 12 hours.  Have you contacted the support team?

I doubt you will get much help on this forum.  You can also post on the Stablecoin forum in the "Mining" forum.  You might get some help.

I find rewards to be very erratic, because they depend entirely on chance.  The time required for a block, the time for confirmations, the difficulty, the level of network traffic, the time to complete all shares (including the excess percentage) are all variable and my own payouts vary from 2 to 8 hours.  Averages out to ~4 hours/25+ coin payout, or about 200/day.
663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: December 22, 2013, 03:01:32 PM
In my continued quest, I now have a response to the polite request I submitted on our behalf to Coins-E.com a few days ago

SBC/BTC pair now available for trading Grin

Mission 2 : accomplished!

As with the other recent exchange (CoinedUp.com), please help give these guys some volume and business. You all wanted options, well in the last week we have now opened up two more options and extended the reach of SBC. More for us to do yet as a community but we're moving forward.
WELL DONE!!!

Slowly, over time this coin will begin it's advance.

. . . meanwhile I'll continue to mine 24/7  Grin

and the "if this goes on" linear extrapolations imply that BtC will badly damage stable governance, not to mention redistributive taxation systems and social security/pension nets if its value continues to soar (as it seems designed to do due to its deflationary properties).
This article is just the whining of yet another kleptomaniac who hates the idea of people being able to hold on to their own money.

Bitcoin is the ultimate freedom test. It tells you who is giving lip service and who genuinely believes in it.
^^^  This!!!  There are a lot of folks who like to give voice to their support of liberty, but who at their core are merely interested in imposing their own concept of "liberty"--one that usually puts them in charge.

It's how leftists think.

It reads like one of those Doge coin posts . . .

"Much coin.  Very currency". . . . "No sarchastical."

China farted again.  The market needs some time to collect itself and stabilize.  We're back where we were before all of the hype.

I'm betting that slightly-used, high-end AMD graphics cards will start becoming available on eBay.  There are probably a bunch of late-joiners who are, right now, kicking themselves for jumping on the mining bandwagon and desperately trying to recover as much of their (to their minds) ill-advised venture into mining as they can.

I may go shopping this week. Smiley
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3x R9 280x with PSU Antec HCG-900 900w? on: December 17, 2013, 03:03:25 PM
What you are seeing is due to excessive temperatures.  The R9 series have a cut-out to prevent over-clockers and the rest of us from burning up our cards.  The R9 series AMD cards are made to run hot--95C is the limiter temp (the point at which the card forces clock speed down to ~70%).  91C will not damage the card, but it is a whole lot of heat and if you are seeing that reported, you are probably bouncing off the 95C limit.

Running 3 R9 280x cards on a 900W PSU is really pushing it.  You really need 1100 or more to prevent starving your cards of power.  That being said, under-clocking does resolve some of that difficulty.

Problem is, Gigabyte cards are voltage locked, so the only means of lowering the voltage is by flashing the bios from one of the competitor cards that is not voltage locked.

I must admit I don't get why people are impatient but I know everyone has their own view on life, so each to their own.

Isn't it best with any of these alt coins to just invest if you like and divest if you don't? If there isn't enough information available to make people comfortable or keep their interest then they can not buy in the first place or sell what they have.

The last update was obviously worded carefully by Artos, dates aren't the focus else that would have been mentioned. Doing it right does seem to be the focus.
The reason is quite simple.  Those of us who have been mining SBC have not been doing so out of the goodness of our hearts, we are doing so in the hopes that we are mining a coin that has a bright future and that will ultimately reward those who have expended their mining capacity on SBC's rather than another coin.

The key to success in any venture is open, frequent and informative updates.  We are all making a bet that our efforts will be rewarded and we're comfortable with that decision, as long as we feel that things are moving in the correct direction.  When communication lags, then investors (and miners--especially newbie miners) begin to get nervous . . . especially when you see the coin value and market cap in a slow, steady decline.

Gamblers and investors are a skittish lot and they require some degree of reassurance that they are not 1. Fools betting on a horse that can't cross the finish line, or 2. Gullible fools who are being played by those more experienced and knowledgeable than they.

Patience is needed on both sides, the miners and gamblers need to allow artos the time necessary to get whatever maintenance and corrective measures accomplished.  On the other hand, artos, hazard and others need to understand what the rest are going through and provide a little more thorough communications and updates--maybe even a pep-talk or two. Grin

Artos, Hazard, I know you aren't baby-sitters, but in taking on the responsibility for creating and promoting the StableCoin, you also incurred some responsibility to the people you are asking to trust you.
671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is doomed to fail, and there's nothing you can do about it. on: December 16, 2013, 09:44:00 PM
The first question anyone should be asking is, why is a guy who doesn't believe in bitcoins, thinks that they are a useless commodity, and is convinced that ultimately they will fail, posting his unsolicited opinion on a forum dedicated to the advancement of bitcoins, the desimination of information about bitcoins, and how to become part of the bitcoin community?

It's called trolling--no matter how long he's been on the forum--it's trolling.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: December 15, 2013, 10:34:23 PM
It's possible that the reason the price is so low on coinmarketcap is because Cryptsy added an SBC/LTC market, so maybe it's not accounting for the SBC volume that moves through LTC?

I too would also like an estimate on the mixing service, as it will really help to market it, however, I will be patient.

I expect it to not come out for at least 2 weeks, because the hardfork doesn't come out until then.

Could someone explain: "hardfork"?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=349198.msg3883507#msg3883507

Artos is working on a hardfork--a mandatory upgrade to the coin--that will prevent difficulties from jumping sky-high whenever one of the huge multi-pools jumps on SBCs.
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: December 14, 2013, 09:52:59 PM
cobrabyte and zavtra are right.  Public perception and the dissemination of information in a thorough and timely manner, are as important as the coin technicals right now.  First impressions can make or break any venture and with the stutter-start this coin had, it carries an even heavier burden to provide as much information as possible in as broad a selection of sites as possible.

I know so little about crypto-currencies and SBC that I can only make general assertions based on what I have been told or read.  Those that know the real meat need to get it out there ASAP.

Developing a market is important, but first the coin must be established as legitimate and novel in it's mixing execution.
674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: December 14, 2013, 02:50:51 PM
Hi, I am new to DVC, but have invested in a few.

I notice there is much discussion about the wallet.  I just noticed that the wallet I am using  (Devcoin version 0.3.25.1-beta) does not use confirmation of your pass phrase for encrypting the wallet.  That is very dangerous, as you cannot be certain that the pass phrase you think you have typed is the one you actually typed.

I hope this will be corrected soon.

Great concept and hopefully a great future for the coin.

@Catswold: It takes a rightful person to apologize and you clearly are one - kudos.

A man without honor is no man. Cheers.

I don't see how he's a troll, he just asked a simple question. Answering your question: the strong fundamentals include the great marketing efforts being made, great community, the up and coming mixing service and constant improvements among many others. I also agree that this is a good coin to get in on Smiley

Thanks for the answer.  Smiley

I bought in at 1000 satoshi so of course i want the coin to succeed. At first I were psyched, but I have started to doubt the whole project. The features you mention are not unique for stablecoin. Many coins have very good marketing and great communities. Anoncoin is way ahead when it comes to anonymity and they are also writing about a coin mixing service... But guess I should stay strong and don't sell.

Catswold: What the hell is your problem? There got to be room for critical questions. Or is this like the Scientology church or some other cult?
If I mistook your attitude, I humbly apologize.  I apparently misunderstood your comment from before.  When you begin with ". . . because it's a total scam," it tends to send a very negative signal--one which I apparently wrongly interpreted.

Again, I am sorry for attacking you.

Because this is not the first time he has been here.  He likes to drop in and post like a jerk.  The question he asked was not serious, it was meant as a shot--judging from his prior posts.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=349198.msg3946658#msg3946658

678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: December 13, 2013, 10:08:04 PM
The recent price plunge is an excellent opportunity for investors to get in stablecoin cheap. This is a Coin with strong fundamentals which makes it an excellent long term investment, rather than your quick 500% gain , next day 100% loss coins.

Plase explain what the strong fundamentals is?
Why are you even here, troll?  Clearly you don't like and are not interested in Stablecoin or it's success.

Are you so emotionally crippled and twisted that you get your jollies out of trolling?

Pathetic.  Go play on the tracks.

Yep, now that the coin is listed once more, it has begun to rise in value.

OOPS . . . the value just plummeted.
