Why do you -have- to use paypal? What country are you in?

PS - I had the same initial concern when I started using the phone app, so don't feel bad.
The site dev should really put a message above the phone sync screen that says "Use double encryption or your phone will become a huge security hole!"

I'm playing with a blockchain.info wallet. Their web security seems really great, and I use Google Authenticator as a second factor. I've installed their Android wallet on my phone and paired it to my wallet. This seems to bypass all security. It never asks for my password, and never asks for my second factor. It just opens my wallet. I don't know if it would allow me to transact, but it seems so.
This is no good. Phones are stolen and lost all the time. Is there some setting I'm overlooking, or is this a gaping deficiency in their Android app?
Enable "double encryption" - this adds a second password to use when withdrawing. It's a good idea to use this anyway. It will ask for this second password when using the phone app.

all i see at the moment is BS.
Who are you again? I'll tell you what sets off my alarm bells...multiple brand new posters bashing ASICs mining equipment companies.

Would it be beneficial to mine on their own devices? Hell yes! More than just selling them.
No. It wouldn't. Thanks for discrediting yourself very early on.

Thanks for catching this lying scumbag before he could pull off yet another scam.

Whoah ... hope everyone with Bitcoin Spinner, Bitcoin Wallet for Android, etc.,, have made backups!
I use the Blockchain.info android client - so there's no danger.

I read about this because I'm thinking about getting a Galaxy S3 tomorrow. I read that Samsung submitted a patch so there is no issue now? My GS3 would be vulnerable, but I already had another dialer installed. Matthew - get it - it's an amazing piece of hardware. Just install "Dialer One" and you won't be vulnerable until the patch gets pushed out.

Another great article. Keep up the good work!

Making a Megaupload account was free too. That doesn't mean that there weren't things you could pay for.
Kim knows about Bitcoin and he also knows that Visa, MC, and paypal are out of the question.
Hopefully he takes the obvious route of at least making Bitcoin a payment option.

DeathAndTaxes (if he has time) would be an excellent choice, as well as JoelKatz.

Great article, although I would have said "Ron Paul Moment" - that awkward moment when the guy who comes in first in your poll is suddenly removed from the results.

I think you dont see what i mean. I mean that at some point the useable bitcoins are way less. And the more far it goes in the future the worse the problem should become.
Or is there a way to get the money from an address that cant be accessed by his owner anymore? These bitcoins cant be used anymore. Maybe at the moment its only 100BTC but at some time it will be 100.000 and so on. Because no one can claim them anymore.
Its not that the value is gone. The medium to pay vanishes bit by bit.
Wrong?
You don't need to worry, for several reasons. 1) As stated, we have 21,000,000 BTC which are divisible to 8 decimals. As Bitcoin has matured, the rate of loss has gone down significantly, which makes sense. The more valuable something is, the more careful people are not to lose it. 2) As some is lost, the rest becomes more valuable. In the case that BTC is worth "too much" at the 8th decimal place for practical use, because we've lost "too much", we can make a change to the protocol to allow for dividing farther. This is the type of change that would not have opposition, so it wouldn't be impossible to make. However, this is not likely to be a concern in our lifetimes.

Dank, I realize your condition makes it hard to recognize this, but your statements about autism are ignorant to the point of being offensive.

Ok, but do you understand you weren't hacked?
The client generates new addresses automatically. It's going to do that regardless of whether you get a new wallet or not.
The bitcoins you currently own are in the original wallet file that was in that directory. So do not delete or lose that file.
|
|
|
You were not hacked. You did not lose anything yet. The new address is just a new address. You still have the old one.
So calm down...and STOP trying to delete things until you understand what's going on.
|
|
|
The file that holds your bitcoin addresses does not get removed when you remove the software. This is for your own protection.
Redownloading the software won't change the address because it's still reading from the same file: wallet.dat.
Why do you think you were "hacked" ? Have you turned on wallet encryption?

Spoken very well by someone who doesn't understand my thinking process. Mental problems aren't real, you think I'm crazy because you lack understanding, that's all they are - labels.
Karma is real, you can find it in your life if you look for it. I believe that's the only reason Dank Bank has worked and will work. That and belief.
I probably understand it better than you do, but I also know that it is exactly (ironically) what stops you from being able to understand what I'm telling you. Anyway, I hope you will at least believe that I'm not trolling you, and I meant what I said with all sincerity. Good luck.

It's not that amazing that those who understand me have faith in me.
It's doubly amazing that people who understand you would send you money. I'm not saying this to be a dick. I know people who have similar mental problems to you, dank, and as a result I've tried to refrain from posting too much in your threads. I know you're not consciously trying to scam anyone and I hope you're lucky enough to have things work out for you. But anyone sending you money is most likely doing it without any clue what's going on inside your head...which of course is their own fault. Fair warning: saying things like "What's the purpose of holding a business accountable separately from it's owner?" and "My bank will return interest on deposits as long as I don't put out any bad karma" could cause a run on your deposits as they start to figure it out.
