I would not necisarily expect Ixcoin price to rocket up right after mining ends...
You know the big boys will manipulate even after mining ends.  And if Vlad is right, even more so.

Here is a tally of the number of iXcoin transaction over the last two weeks.

184 tx per day including the block reward
47 tx per day not including the block reward

By comparison, Bitcoin has 50,000-80,000 transactions per day.

We need to work on ways to increase iXcoin transactions.

Lowering the Block time would give IX a competitive advantage imo.  Waiting and hour or two sure gets old with BTC.  Especially when you have other coins getting verified in 5 min.

30K IXC left to mine.

You can now see the finish line.

Even now, this coin looks completely unpredictable.

One of  a kind.

Difficulty really dropped.  Not liking that....

There are only a few days left before iXCoin reaches terminal mining.

Thank you all for participating in the iXCoin experiment.

Go time?

I agree, keeping our code base current is priority over counterparty.

@JohnnyBTCSeed - Some good points to consider, from my viewpoint counterparty may be a nice idea, don't know how much work would be involved in adding it, just doing that will take some time I haven't had.  We've got other priorities right now, like getting the best possible merged-mining code into GitHub, fully tested and then built into binary releases for all of you.

While Ahmed is @ the hashers united convention, I'm focused on making the changes required to upgrade ixcoin to the latest bitcoin core code 0.9.3.  About 1/2 way through the /src directory and still have all the files in the src/qt directory to-do.  So far the list of issues that need additional time to make sure it's correct is very small, other stuff like the language files will have to be regenerated etc. etc...  Bitcoin core is in a state of rapid flux, with lots of new code being pulled into its base now, its hard to keep up.  Yet that is what I've agreed to work on.  Think we all can agree this is an important aspect to IXC, that we stay current with Bitcoin Core code from here onward.   See the counterparty stuff constantly being brought up as a 'got to have', that maybe true, but I don't think it should be the main focus, at least for right now.

A lot of Ixcoins up for sale on Cex.io right now.  500K plus.
687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: October 07, 2014, 01:02:54 AM
Where do I get the new client?

First Install the new client using the Win32 setup and get your blockchain up-to-date as well as install your wallet.dat file from previous versions.  Mine was originally a 0.3.24 wallet, then it was upgraded to an 0.8.6 version, either or seems to work just fine, at some point you might want to execute the -upgradewallet option when starting Ixcoin, this will bring all the internal wallet data structures up to the latest version.  The simple installer that comes with this release, does one more thing, besides just installing your new execuables, it also installs a registry key so that your operating sytsem knows what to do when you enter a URI into your browser.

Once the new client is installed on your system, simply click on the following link and enter your amount:

Over 400k ixc traded in the last 24h on Cex.
There is even a block of 500k at 0.000138 0.000142 0.000175 btc
500k is  more then 2%! Hope an investor will take it.

Those sell orders are gone.  Completely.

I just looked and there are now only about 10,000 total ixCoins for sale at any price on CEX.

Like I've said before - I think there are a lot of games being played on CEX.

The market is definitely heating up.  And the difficulty is higher than ever.  Volume very high too.  What does all this mean?
689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: October 06, 2014, 02:04:09 AM
It's over for this coin just close this thread

It's over, and yet you still came here....
690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: September 30, 2014, 10:49:46 PM

Looks like you are getting played then.....

It's a sum zero game.  Just numbers.  It's just too bad I don't have more just numbers to throw around right now.  lol.

Well right now these 'just numbers' represent real wealth...

I would love to know when it is you buying or when others are front running you....

I'll post a pick of all my buys the last 3 days.  My first was on CEX for 21,400 at 4700.

The very next day is when the price popped to 6500 without me touching it.  Then I jumped on for another 24,000 up to 7700, then like 10,000 at 8,000 for good measure and soon after that someone else took it over 12,000.

So this big run was not really me.  It was mostly someone else.  I bought my blocks in one single hit without dragging the price higher.  The price should have settled within hours after I bought.

So you basically buy, and then post that you are buying.  That's way smarter than posting you are buying before you buy.  You'd be smart to  be selling when you post that you are buying.

Just pushed it to 14,500.

Nice round number, eh?  Haha!

Edit:  If I didn't think doge was gonna double in the next 1-2 weeks I'd sell it all and push IXC to 20,000 right now.  Just for shits!

Check...your move, Mr. Smith!

Looks like you are getting played then.....

WTF is going on with the price?

Someone really is trying to stop me from buying back all my iXCoins.

try CEX

I did and not much luck.  I think CEX has a lot of fake sell walls.  If true, it's a clever manipulation tactic.

Well someone is buying on Cryptsy.  If it's not you, then they def front running you.

Okay, maybe the corporate elite will keep BTC and other PoW coins floating.  But the free market would never choose to go with a crypto like BTC!  It will only survive at the hand of corporate and government force.

They lied to us in College about free markets.  Markets are very much centralized and manipulated.  We have some freedom but nothing like what was portrayed in the economics textbooks they spon fed us.  Thank God I never had the money to ever buy any of those books so I didn't read a single Econ book, but the lectures did plenty of damage.  I lost more money in the stock market due to not realizing this fact [early on] than any other single personal miscalculation.

And you guys think people will just choose a different crypto to go with?  lol, I wonder why people don't do that right now, instead of using dollars?  Like use some unknown ShitCoin?  Or print your own dollars on your laser copy machine.

It would be so easy for any government to ban any and all competing crypto coins.  Without mass adoption those currencies would die on the vine.  What gives Doge, LTC, Bitcoin, etc., value is adoption and mass acceptance by merchants and the masses.  Digital currencies themselves have ZERO intrinsic value.

No merchant on earth would ever accept an illegal crypto [which can be much more easily tracked than counterfeit dollar bills] and that's all that would be needed to kill any competing crypto-coins.  So the only coin(s) to survive will be the ones which are pre-approved by the government [and the banks].

Yet one more thing Satoshi should have seen but chose not to guard and code against.

To win at this global game - simply accurately predict the coin(s) which the government, banks and corporations will back and put your money behind them.  They will do the rest and you will get rich.

What happens after that won't be pretty but maybe you'll be able to take your money out and live your life somewhere "safe".

You have a point.

At this point you can even show your Secret Private Key to everybody: it's now useless

If you share your Private Key, then someone else could import the key and use the coins....

A huge issue with BTC and IXC is the amount of wasted energy.  Look how many millions of dollars it cost just to mine BTC.  And for something arbitrary, like 10 leading zeros on the block hash, which serves no purpose, other than making it harder to verify a transaction.  All PoW coins will fail.

Would you say that's a big problem for the big energy companies?

Can't you people see that everything about Bitcoin was designed [by Satoshi] to be in favor of the corporations and governments and against the people?  By this time next year, the people will be OUT of the mining business as the rich and elite corporations take over.  This is part of the design and could have easily been seen [and avoided] from day one.

Why can't people look and see the blatant evidence of ultra centralization, massive waste of energy and complete loss of freedom for the people?

Okay, maybe the corporate elite will keep BTC and other PoW coins floating.  But the free market would never choose to go with a crypto like BTC!  It will only survive at the hand of corporate and government force.
