The matches currently listed on lounge are for Groups A and B.

Without giving analysis, it should be clear that Fnatic should be the clear favorites to make it out of group A.

Fnatic > VOX Eminor

Natus Vincere > Flip.Sid3 Tactics : : **s1mple will not be playing, he is banned from esl and other Valve-sponsored events if I recall correctly. However I and very sure he will not be playing; davcost will be playing in his place. I do think, however, some people may overvalue the raw, VAC-worthy skill that s1mple brings to the team, skewing the odds a bit. Still think a solid pick on Na'Vi though. I'm going to be a tad salty if I lose that bet, you'll see why.

Going to start betting on katowice games now
a few notes:

a lot of these teams have been saving strats and have been "underperforming" for a while, but I expect all of them to give it everything they have to win any and every match they can. In addition, the NA scene is a lot better than it used to be compared to last year. As many of these NA vs EU teams may be going head to head for the first time, all of these games will be hard to predict. In addition, the group stage games are all best of 1.

Being a LAN, we don't have to worry about network-related issued such as ping or DDOS, and there will be technicians on-site to fix any technical problems that may arise. This will make bets a little easier, BUT, for some of these teams, being on the big stage in front of thousands of people will be a first for some of these teams, and this may be either motivating or intimidating to these teams.

Even with all this, we can still expect the favorites to make it out of their respective group stage brackets (Fnatic, nV, NiP, VP). However, upsets are likely and will happen, especially for the NA v EU matches.

Either way, we can expect nutty plays and great matches, and hopefully drops.

Going to put more thinking into these games than usual, picks will come slowly, but I will try to post a pick for every game I think is worth betting on.

I have a dice game. What's EV methods?

nice, would definitely try this out if it implemented a dice game to test +EV methods

positive EV as in a method that will generally tend to generate a profit. For example, if one were to bet an infinite number of times on 2x, a slightly negative EV would result from the house edge. I recall reading about a method to 9900x bet with an increasing 10k -> 20k satoshi bet that had a ~.06 +EV or something like that.

Would it be too late to buy a steam card and invest some money for Katowice.
I am playing with only like a dollar now but would like to try with more but is the 7 day trade thing going to stop me?

katowice starts on the 15th, so you still have time

It says it ends on the 15th Sad Oh well for later bets i guess!
guess it starts on the 13th then i guess
you may still be able to bet if you find a way to obtain skins through trade instead of the market, such as opskins

how does the house make money without a house edge?

There's a small fee of the total bet Smiley

ah thats a good business model, guaranteed profit for the house no matter the outcome, unlike dice. I might give the site a try later on if I ever find some time

699  Economy / Gambling / Re: What gambing games do gamblers want? on: March 09, 2015, 10:32:18 PM
just a few things that immediately come to mind: keep the game simple, like dice, but give the player enough options so that they dont feel limited in playing the game. ex, adding a "range" of numbers to a dice game as opposed to just high or low would be a great example.
