I'm not arguing.  I'm the buyer.  I sent the payment and your response was I'll send tracking in the morning.  Next day, life happened. I get it.  I have been burned before on this very forum so my concern was not you, your character, or anything other than you not meeting the timeline that you set as expectation.

This isn't a debate, a reputation issue or anything.

Just send the tracking number please.

I appreciate it. The only reason for the additional add to this thread was because you have zero trust and I second guessed if escrow would not have been the appropriate path to take.

Life's hard enough with our everyday tribulations, I'm certainly not trying to make drama or complicate matters further.

Thanks,

B

Eodguy is a trusted member of the forum, and of the physical coin collectors. He will get you your coin in good time. If there has been a small delay, then there will have been a good reason for it. He certainly doesnt have zero trust

Is there any way for us to know which mint is considered a more premium mint ahead of time?  I'd rather pay a premium pre ordering from the better mint.

Agreed with this statement.

Same here

MJ you Sneaky bugger !!
686  Economy / Collectibles / Re: LIMITED EDITION 10 ONLY Philosopher's Coin find the hidden code on: February 26, 2016, 02:44:40 PM
Yep, while we were both talking on something else, he asked my opinion for the coin. I hadnt realised it would be 'one of the five'. But I like the uniqueness of that coin type in the crypto space.

Gold coin .... how heavy are we talking here ? Obviously that will have a big impact on price
687  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [FYI] So, ANACS is certainly grading Cas brass higher these days... on: February 24, 2016, 03:09:48 PM
Maybe the coins are like a fine wine.. Roll Eyes

Made me smile. I should point out that all my coins have a particularly fine bouquet  Cool

From what I have seen of ANACS, around June last year, a shift happened in the way they graded. Previously low end graded coins had the potential to jump +2 grades (although +4 is pretty significant, and exceptional). The higher end graded coins really only had the potential to jump +1 (+2 on very very rare occasions, as they have less room to be jumping into).

So the effect has been that the minimum grade has effectively increased by a couple. The maximum grade has seen a smaller increase. Thus all grades in between have been squeezed a little.

Even without the noticeable step change that happened in June with ANACS. Inconsistency is a problem that can affect all grading companies. The same coin recieving different grades when submitted multiple times is common place for the other big graders, as well as ANACS. But this realistically should only be +/- 1, and only then for those coins that are borderline, and the decision becomes subjective (and may depend on the kind of day the grader is having, what the weather is like, how busy they are etc). I am not saying that this is actually the case, just how it should be. The fact is coins are judged by humans, and humans are fallible.

Ultimately, while not perfect, grading is the best gauge we have for coin condition. Pictures rarely convey the full picture, and for a globally distributed group of people, a third party independant opinion is the next best thing to having the coin to hand (which generally isnt possible), even if its isnt consistent 100% of the time. Alongside that, always judge the coin not the slab, wherever possible (given the stated limitations of pictures, versus holding a coin and changing the angle of view to see the coin from all angles).

Hey they will be 10 of each manufacturers hologram and the price will be 250 USD each.

Put me down for #5 of each then

I would appreciate more info on the final 3 coins of the series
689  Economy / Collectibles / Re: LIMITED EDITION 10 ONLY Philosopher's Coin find the hidden code on: February 24, 2016, 10:46:36 AM
OK, so can you confirm the price of the philoshophers coin (given 20). Just so I am clear, and save me reading the pages prior

Russian Roullet coin ... has that price been confirmed yet ?

Given the tie in between the Phil coin, and the RR coin, I may be in for the Phil coin, as I am already in for the RR coin

If you can confirm the price, I may well jump for #5 of the Phil coin. Depending on the price, I may jump for both #5s

Would still very much like to understand what the rest of the series will be, and how they will be priced.

I have thought about this same type of auction.... I think this would work well with a third party Auctioneer.

Funding an address with the coins as a bid could work somehow??

I could send each person who bids an unique bidding address.
At the end of the auction, I could transfer all of the bids to my 1MiNeR address.
Keep the winning bid and send the rest back to the original address they came from.
I would then post the list of unique bidding address and txids.
That way all bids could be traced from being placed to transfer, then back to owner, and no one would know who's bid is who's unless you know someone's BTC address...
And the winner's name/id would not even be known unless the person would want to post it.
People would only know the winning bid.

Huh Huh Huh

Thanks

There will always be people who won't want to send funds for something they may not win. For something popular, there may be lots of bidders. The amount of funds sent would be far in excess of the value of item. I don't think it's a runner.

What is really needed is a forum with good auction functionality. It would be good if there were options for a number of different auction types .... Normal auctions, buy it now or best offer, auction also with buy it now, Dutch auction with descending offer price by time, and closed bid auction like you are trying to do.

If we can wipe out the need to trust, it would help that auction types work, and it could work well

691  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Casascius 2011 Error Coin MS67 / Casascius 2013 1 BTC Silver MS68 on: February 23, 2016, 08:28:40 PM
They ANACS grade should be taken as a guide as to what the condition of the coin is, not a literal stepwise difference between coins with different grades. So a brass MS68 is noticeably in a better condition to what an MS63 would be for example.

Except that around here, it is used as more of a stepwise to arrive at the price(by sellers) than a guide.  You literally have people stepping the price from grade to grade and justifying it by saying "ANACS grade!".

As happens with every non crypto graded coin also. If you can find an MS70 silver eagle cheaper than an MS68, or an ungraded round ... please tell me where
692  Other / Archival / Re: [WTS] Casascius and Lealana Coins - Silver and Brass on: February 20, 2016, 11:40:53 PM

Thanks Smiley

I got #1, your mistaking the "S" for a 5

Sticker says "#1 S Delux"

oh..ok. thanks.

So more than likely, everyone will receive the coin # that they are on the list??

Yep I have had number 5 delux hit the mat today. Nice looking coin.

Not opening it, just like I'm not opening lucky 1.5 , or the goldie #5

Looking forward to finding the price for the goldies

Great deal made with Mindtrip. Coin listings updated where purchases were made from the thread, still plenty of coins available. Feel free to make me an offer
695  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Random Casascius Stuff on: February 17, 2016, 09:24:18 PM
"1 x Piece of paper he sends with something or another? I forget what this came with tbh... "bitcoin vires in numbers""

This would have been placed in a coin roll. Looking at the size of it, not a 20 1 oz silver roll, so potentially 20 0.1 silvers or 12 0.5 silvers

Unsure if this was done for branding purposes, or just to make the coins a little snugger in the roll, to stop any movement

Did the business card have anything written on the back ? Often they would have a roll number if they were with full rolls. (looks like not, as those ones got vacuum packed in with the rolls, and ended up getting creased)

I am guessing the coin holder would be most of interest to someone who has coins from that particular roll. Unsure why Mike used those fancy 'hinged' rolls for the gilts. But they are kind of funky
696  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] Casascius coins on: February 17, 2016, 02:09:57 PM
Looks like a solid place to start if you haven't seen it already:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1364089.0  Grin

Sorry guys, forgot to mention that I am only interested in ungraded coins for now.

I will always try and cut you a deal on those graded coins !

Additionally I may be able to sort something out ungraded also, probably dont have as many varieties though. PM me what you are looking for, and I will see what I can do.
697  Economy / Collectibles / Re: SUPER DELUX Lucky coin sale- SOLD OUT on: February 17, 2016, 01:06:46 PM
Minerjones...if you're not taking #2,  I'll take #2 for each.

Must say this is a very unique design looking into the front of a revolver chamber.

I'll take the #3's (depending on the price). I'll contact gravitate about a great mint for having the molds made Smiley

This company does 999 Fine Silver coins?

Put me down for the bronze and silver #5 RR coins .... Again subject to announced price
698  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Large Variety of Graded Casascius Silver and Brass (Last updated 14th Feb) on: February 15, 2016, 09:22:29 PM
what would you ask for the entire collection?

Lets talk via PM, and understand what you are looking for. The coins that are listed here, are not the entirety of available coins. Lets get a shopping list together, and I am sure we can work out a deal

Please PM me by clicking on my name is this thread, and then send a message, and then I will respond to you. Be very cautious with any PMs you recieve other than in response to this first PM you send. I am certain you will get a PM sent from someone trying to scam you, with a newbie account, and a very similar name to mine (it happens, you just need to be wise to it), given the nature of you post.  Wink

Those are some pretty impressive grades! First MS68 brass I've seen.

Feel free to make an offer  Wink could be yours !
