Vega are running only on Windows now with beta blockchain drivers. So it will be 8 cards max on the same mobo

You can run all 12 slightly crippled with adren drivers.  You are going to need a 100GB pagefile and A LOT of patience though  Roll Eyes

thanks. is there a complete guide for the setup? has anyone run this successfuly?

Your best bet is to run two 6 card Rigs currently, or dive face first and figure it out on your own.

703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: December 30, 2017, 08:29:35 PM
I have confirmed that in the latest release - version 8 - there is an issue with running more than 3 RX 580s.

Ran the exact same command in version 7 and version 8: cast_xmr-vega -S <pool name> -u <addr> -G 0,1,2,3,4

Version 7 - Works perfectly fine, albeit performance is a little lower than expected.

Version 8 - Does not detect the fourth GPU. It detects the 5th one, which is weird. I've also tried with the --fastjobswitch, --forcecompute and --nonicehash parameters and that did not change the outcome.

Is anyone else having this issue? If so, is it a fix on your end or should I try to file a bug request with the dev?

Have you tried 8.1 from his website?  Not sure the difference in the two are.  Also maybe check to see if crossfire is enabled and disable it.
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: December 30, 2017, 07:12:28 AM
Getting any new asics without over paying will be tough.

In fact gpu prices are rising.

Amazon is kind of mostly sold out.
Provantage is short.

Not much  gear to be had at the moment.

I just got a shippment 30 x Zotac GTX-1060s (wanted P106s but got these instead for same price) - unfortunately these are the last pieces on this side of the world from my Zotac supplier.

For now, no more GPUs rigs possible because we maxed out all amps in both warehouse -- close to 90 rigs - without tripping the power. 63A-3Phase-220-240v each warehouse.

All new Asics will remain hosted only.

I may replace the R9-390s with newer GPUs if I can get a good deal for all 25 x 390s -- any takers?

Maxed out warehouse sounds like fun.
705  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: NIB EVGA 1080 Ti FTW3 & 1080 Ti SC2 factory sealed ships from Memphis, TN USA on: December 30, 2017, 03:56:42 AM
I'm interested in 2 of the FTW3 gpus but this "short sell" of them seems highly questionable especially when you look at scope of ebay items currently for sale and history of sales.

Other red flags include -- a tiny url link to a google photo album, a today only deal, payment options include Paypal but are only limited to the "gift" option which leaves the buyer with no protection against fraud.

Buyers beware.

I agree it is a bit suspect.  The google image site is at least registered to a guy named NeoStore  It would help if there was date/name written on a piece of paper in the images to add some sort of validity.

Thanks, I will check it out.

Don't check that out, it hasnt been updated in 6months. https://github.com/bitsbetrippin/bbtmultiminer or you can get it directly from his webpage.  https://www.bitsbetrippin.io/blogs/news/bbt-multiminer-5-7-official-update
707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Just found an AWESOME deal on GTX 1060's! on: December 29, 2017, 03:44:19 PM
They are 207 right now after discount code might as well make a new post and promote all your shit again.

Yup. $207 with the coupon code I provided. Then $20 cash back from Asus. Then 2% cash back +$10 from Ebates.

You say that like its some special code only you have access to.  My point is we don't need some idiot trying to monetize basic deals they found on buildapcsale or sickdeals.  If you want to be helpful just cut 90% of your long winded unnecessary seemit bullshit, link the item, code, rebate and be done.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Blockchain vs Adrenalin AMD drivers on: December 29, 2017, 03:30:08 PM
I tried today with a complete cleanout and new Vega Frontier Compute & Adrenalin drivers, Overdriventool doesn't work on latest compute drivers after clean install, nor does afterburner, hence 20-30% slower hashrate and higher power. Using the FE driver switch, the gaming drivers were slow (FE drivers allow user to switch between pro and 2 gaming drivers)

Perhaps if Overdriventool worked with latest Pro driver it would be interesting (throws exceptions)

Did another clearout and went back to blockchain as best overall power vs speed

This was using latest windows 10 updates and mobo chipset updates as suggested by Amd

Blockchain driver is still the best at least for monero

Did you try this version of Ntool?

Supernova has a pretty bad rep for shorting people on coins.

WDFLOAD is classified as Win32:PUP-gen (potentially unwanted program). What is PUP? PUP is crapware. WDFLOAD have several types of unwanted behaviour:

    Displaying popup ads.
    Hijacking your browser.
    Infecting your desktop shortcuts, etc.
Inserting ads to the web pages.

WDFLOAD can redirect your browser search, collect your personal information and sell it for advertising.

I'd steer clear of this one, or at least don't use it on a computer that has important information on it like wallets or saved passwords..
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sumokoin on: December 29, 2017, 08:13:08 AM

Where did you get the info to set commands like "-G 0"  "fastjobswitch -I  9", etc?

check the dev site or your can run a bat file consist of

cast_xmr-vega --help
cmd /k

THANK YOU!

Now what does the "--forcecompute" actually do?

Seriously, are you completely handicapped? Do you need people to tell you everything? Do you know how to use search? Do you know how to find page 1 of this whole thread? I hate this whole thread now because of people like you. This thread was about an awesome miner for cryptonight called CAST XMR, that now has been ruined with stupid questions and discussions about useless moronic band-aids for problems that are not even related to the mining tool. If I could mod this thread I would have moved half the discussions of the last 20 pages to the trash bin.

I like this guy.  Keep up the good work.

TLDR; found what ebates was, wants you to use referral link and wait for two mail in rebates to get a semi decent deal.  There was a better deal without rebates a week ago.
714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: VEGA 64 mining FREE WISDOM on: December 29, 2017, 01:14:13 AM
Its no surprise that I can’t find vega’s anywhere  Roll Eyes

Question 1: does anyone know when a new batch is going to hit the market so I can plan accordingly? I’ve emailed a few companies but no one is revealing anything.

Question 2: can I piece together a rig of different 56’s and 64’s? I found a few in single quantities and was thinking about doing 2 64’s and 2 56’s. They would all be different aftermarket models. Would I run into any issues setting these up?

A new batch of AMD Vega cards wont be out until they alter the production to 12nm and revise the overall card spec slightly.   Similar to what was done with 480 and 580.   I have heard the new card would run less power and also less heat, that has some benefits but Im not sure it would be faster overall especially for mining which is just about the memory speed alot of the time and it'll be the same memory so far as I know.

Maybe the summer for those and meanwhile you have the AIB card partners releasing their versions of Vega but these are just fancy versions and not really any use to a miner who doesnt care about noise.

you can mix 56 and 64 from what I've read

Thought the new Vegas would scrap HMB2 and just use DDR5/6.
715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: December 28, 2017, 09:44:37 PM
so what's this nicehash deal - they aren't going to pay the old balances unless they are .1btc or they just aren't paying the new balances until the balance reaches .1btc?

They said they are paying everyone the end of Jan.  Don't think they had a minimum balance stipulation for owed balances from the theft.  The new minimum balances were put in place so they don't have to pay the crazy transaction fees while they work with coinbase to secure some kind of deal to avoid fees altogether.

No, they said they will have an ANNOUNCEMENT on January 31 about when funds will be repaid.

 Part 4, 3'd paragraph, in https://www.nicehash.com/attack-learn-more

Ah ok, I think that reads differently than the initial announcement a week ago.  Now I'm even more skeptical of anyone getting paid.

Virus Total results are to be taken in a gross sense. Never fully trusted.
The first day when i downloaded and tested, i also checked it on virustotal... That time it was As pure as water with 0/67
Today i checked my old downloaded file and it shows .... 2/67......... somebody is showing 4 and more.........

This pattern i have seen many times..... After more days .... maybe a month....... you will get much more false +ve on it.
It happens with my own compiled version of ccminer also ...... So what weoihr did ... is the ONLY correct way to check.

Going to trust someone with two posts to do a thorough analysis of another newbie posters miner?   Roll Eyes

They are flagged for bitcoinminers not specific trojans like you seem to have.  Stop deflecting and justifying your virus program.

Ahashpool earnings down like 50% Sad
damn nicehash

I don't even know what to make of this from Ahashpool.  Legitimate error or possible scam.

Announcement: (2017-12-27 15:51 UTC) There is a recent surge of miners on XVG-x17. Unfortunately, this sudden overload caused the pool to mine on a diverged chain split. Upon reverting back to the main chain, the supposedly mined blocks have become orphans. Hence you will see a sudden drop in your unconfirmed balance orange line. Please understand that no one wants to see this happen. Both the pool and the miners lost money in this event. As compensation, pool will make fee 0% for the next 7 days.
