This is a mining thread. I came here to learn and share tips about mining (what and how to mine).
Honestly, i dont care what LBRY is up to in months. That would be discussed in speculation threads.

For instance, even though the 1070 series was great at Lbry, for a little over a month, a 480 has been great at Ethereum and was pretty decent at Lbry on top of it (especially if you purchased Wolfs miner). Now that the Lbry boost is over, I own $450 GPUs that earn as much as a $200 GPU that weren't even that bad even during the huge Lbry burst.
i agree but i´m not dissatisfied with my 1070s. They were a direct replacement for my old 7950s. In fact i put 4x1070 replacing 3x7950, on the same rig with an 850w PSU. I still prefer these $429 1070s against the +$300 overpriced 480s, which were always out of stock. |

how do you read power in AB? i can only see a %, but dunno % of how much.

Going to stores is the last resort. Registering at Newegg is a no-go as they dont accept my credit card (not even a visa prepaid debit card). I cant fill the billing details, only USA addresses. I cant select BTC at checkout when i cant even register  thanks for your ideas anyways |

It may sound stupid.. but even having the money, you cant get what you want.
The situation is that i´m a tourist having a few days in Miami. Having a different shipping and billing adress for your buys is sometimes a pain in the @ss..
Amazon.. problems..
BestBuy.. problems..
Ncixus.. guess what.. no luck.
I´m not even looking for RX480. I want some 1070s to test them.
Any ideas or places to try with stock or fast shipping, accepting Visa/Amex from a foreigner ??
Is Newegg still acepting BTC?

None of this will matter in a few days if DEV doesn't do the right thing and publicly burn most of that ridiculous Premine/Instamine. If not price can only go way down, and no one is going to mine or invest in it with that bag over their heads.

After much testing if you have any Tahiti based cards like 7950/7970/280x , you should just mine SIA directly. You will make almost double over ETH.
Pitcairn or Hawaii based cards like 270x,370,290 and the results aren't as good.
However it uses about 25% more power to mine SIA than ETH.
what speeds are you getting with those Tahitis? Can you mine only SIA with claymore´s? |

what is the added power consumption for dual mining SIA? 10%.. 20%...? i'm afraid to test an already loaded home installation with eth only miners.

Changing back and forth between EXP and ETH (devfee) freeze some rigs.
Could this be fixed in next revision, Claymore? Like mining exp for devfee...
i cant find a switch in miner that helps that issue.

i cant connect Genoils to stratum at dwarfpool (port 8018) for exp.

what would be the cause for the miner to freeze after generating EXP dag??
I tried Claymores and thought it was miner´s fault. But after trying yours, it happens the same.
Some rigs do EXP fine, but others hangs after dag creation. (same OS/mem, same cards/drivers). 280x do fine.. 7950s seems to be more affected (although some 7950s work fine)
Any help or tip will be appreciated. Thanks!

there`s something about mining EXP i cant figure out. some rigs do EXP fine, but others hang and freeze (needing hard reboot). same gpus, win7, same memory, same drivers... |
