Awesome work!

This is gonna be a huge marketplace Smiley

I was thinking about something.

What if each item that is listed has a barcode that pops up onced its sold.

The seller has to tape the barcode on the item package when shipping.

During the UPS, FEDEX whatever service you use to ship, the shadow 'anonymous' barcode is also scanned with the service providers scanner to 'Track' items.

When the item arrives, the buyer types in the barcode in market which enables the Trade as a successful one.

That way both parties can have a secured transactions. The Shadows are locked until both have codes have been added.

The seller cannot collect the SDC until the confirmations are good for the item and the buyer cannot make another buy offer or sell offer until he confirms he received the package.

Something along those lines, hard to explain but this could be a way of making this mainstream and more secure than ebay or amazon.

Im sure we can easily set a price in USD and it will match the number of SDC needed for that item regardless of the volatility.

With the small number of coins available and potential for trillions in market cap due to its technical advantages, I wouldn't want to sell a SDC for less than several BTC.

On the other hand, distribution is going to have to be much better for it to ever realize that potential. Somebody is going to have to bite the bullet. That leads to some interesting economic questions- let's say you hold all or nearly all of a coin- it's worthless if you are the only one using it, and worthless to you if you don't own any, so how would you distribute it to maximize your own wealth?

I don't know that this has ever been addressed.

That is an interesting question and dilemma. Because one of the easiest ways to make a coin go up is to have alot of th currency. That's one reason why not market cap is so high. I think like 7 people got the entire  ipo of nxt when it launched. There is an article on it somewhere that breaks it down.

Yes thats actually an excellent question but i do not think Shadow is at this stage of problematics yet. The price is far too cheap and the number of coins distributed is vast enough for a good equilibrium.

Although I do agree with your points, I think due to the lack of trust in the Altcoin Industry the volume has a big effect on the distribution of this coin.

Therefore someone with 30 btc of Shadow can manipulate the market right now. With 6,448,445 at 7c right now, were looking at roughly $451,391 dollars. So for someone with 30 btc = $10,000 to manipulate the market... even at 100btc which he only seen this kind of volume 3 times on bittrex seems like the ones holding the majority of the coins are actually bitting the bullet by not manipulating the market as they wish.

If the underdogs can distribute the coins to maximize their earnings and double up on forced corrections, its because they are buying from weak hands and not from those who actually own the majority of the coins.

But what does this actually tell us? I think its the lack of volume and trust people have in the altcoin industry. Thus Shadow will change this I'm sure of it and with more volume and rise in price we will see a real distribution.

Speculating at this point is rather inaccurate nor predictable. What is predictable is the technology ShadowCoin brings to the table.

Will its technology enhance the growth of our investment because we have strong hands holding majority of the coin?

Or will the strong hands have to invest even more so that weak hands don't ruin the growth of this technology?

We will have to find out.

Round two testing has begun for version 2! We've setup a testing thread that contains links to the new build as well as instructions on how to participate: http://shadowtalk.org/topic/265/public-testing-for-zk-shadow-round-2

Testing channel is #shadowtest on freenode IRC

If you any feedback or bugs related to testing, please post them on the test thread via sdtalk. It makes it easier for the team to track issues and provides a knowledge base for new users.

Thanks everyone.

Yes! Awesome!! Cheesy

SDC sell(value 5 BTC) every hour, and lasted for a week.
So big dump. This is to let a person crazy to sell.
I see the price of the DRK is so stable, why do we have such a large floating.

If you knew SDC is the real deal and the market had such low volume... would you create panic sellers and shake down the market to grab 100k + more sdc at a super cheap price. To eventually buy alll the sell walls back up right before the big release?

would you?

Heres a look back when dark was just a baby.

Our team is working non-stop on wide array of improvements to Shadow, not isolated to anon. To be clear with everyone here the upcoming update isn't just a zk update, it's a complete overhaul of the core. Our devs decided to take the time to improve the overall experience rather than just make a privacy update. IMO, this was the best long term decision for the project and a sign of software development experience.

People complaining about the price and lack of updates from the team should ask themselves what they themselves are doing for the project. This is a community project so everyone should be putting in their own effort to learn about Shadow and the market it is aiming to serve. This project needs proactive believers not day traders.

If you have any type of skill that you can bring to the table then contribute. If you have free time on your hands try some organic backlinking in relative articles. There's a laundry list of things you can do to help spread awareness about the project besides making complaint posts here and on shadowtalk. If you have a problem with the price do something about it. Be proactive. Imagine if just 5 people within our community spent as much time backlinking as our devs spend writing code.. imagine how many people would know about Shadow.

A couple things:

Our team works for Shadow not any single investor. Our goal is to build the best possible currency platform on the market. We don't need to update every few days and hold your hands. Look at the deliverables and you can see that the team is more than qualified to handle that task. Historically our team updates with real updates not trivial ones. Personally, I'd rather have our devs writing code than writing updates every couple of days. Seems like a distraction especially when you're in the zone.

Our team so far has been internally funded - meaning that there has been an complete absence of donations. If you're that passionate about the project (enough to complain here) and are financially able then chip in to help support the team. I find it insulting that people criticize the team, when they themselves aren't bringing anything to the table. Showing your appreciation for all the hours of work is a small gesture but goes a long way.

As far as the trolling goes: Who really cares? Some overweight low life forum trash with the mental capacity of a 12 year old decides to post some bullshit on here from his parents basement and people get upset. Its the equivalent of a welfare recipient attempting to advise you on your financial portfolio. If you take advice from someone like that then you need to reassess your investment strategies.

We must stay calm.

Many investments such as apple took a long time before delivering media attention.

Take a look at this chart. Real innovation takes time but success is inevitable.

28.3134 BTC in a single order at  0.00019000   Shocked

28BTC is for sale or to support the market?

https://i.imgur.com/LpXrXBv.jpg[/img]

Can be withdrawn at any time, so do not dare to buy now, wait and see

Your advice is not to sell, and not to buy? Smiley
I'd like to see that amount changes hands!

Any Zk testing results?

I will only buy less, not much buy, for fear 28BTC withdrawn at any time

Fear of withdraw, I don't understand that..?
If someone wants to sell now, here is a chance.
I'm sure that buy wall is serious  Wink

And if wall moves , everything is like before that wall.

SDC is kind of a no brainer investment if you ask me lol.

Theres a 99% chance you will have the opportunity to sell at a profit
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YchbDUr4Mec

If you ask me, I can't understand why price is so low.
I can only speculate..

Once again,  if someone from the team can respond,

how is going with testing?

Were currently at stage 2 of the testing

Huh? You are part of the test? How many stages are there if so?

Im not part of the testing. Stages are not defined. It will be ready when the devs say it is ready Smiley Is all i can tell you

I can also tell you that this is what my bittrex looks like.

Well this is now looking much better.

Hold Strong #Shadowcash

I think it is going to take some time for people to figure out how big this is. There should be a big pr push/investment behind this too to spread awareness.

Its in the works.

So, I just went through the web page, and read through twenty+ pages of this thread, and can not figure out what sdc is promising in terms of "zk". If you could excuse me for my laziness for not digging deeper, could someone respond to three quick questions?

1. With the beta that is being tested now, are the devs planning on implementing Zerocash, Zerocoin, or something else?
2. If Zerocash, how do you set up the security parameters? This requires trusted third parties.
3. If Zerocoin, how do you set up the security parameters? Do you use RSA UFOs? If so, how where these generated, and what is their bit length?

Thanks.

hi,

shadow simply has zk-snarks and ring signatures and has its own built-in which doesnt need 3rd party and has nothing similar to zerocash, etc.

A real (not vaporware), working, ZK implementation with ring signatures

sdc dev and whitepaper will explain it in details...

by the way...welcome on board guys....nice to have new bloods here

Thanks for throwing out a clue on how SDC handles the zerocoin initial seeding parameters issue.  This is the first and number one question to ask when a coin claims they are the first to implement zerocoin.  SDC has done an excellent job with it's website and OP so it's a pity there aren't a couple lines of explanation to address the seeding issue on everyone's mind.   There's plenty of discussion on Anoncoin's thread about Gnosis' approach.  In contrast, there's no mention of handling the initial seed parameters with Zerovert and the info on this coin is so scant it smells like scam.

We have answered it over and over and keep saying "please jump in irc until the white paper is released"! Zerovert have also explained themselves, idk, about 10 times already in a 20 page thread they use rsa modules (still trusted but they have a massive bounty if you crack them) Just as anoncoin wished to use them for a trustless setup (there is no "seed" or trust parameters!.

Honestly i don't know where half of you are getting this information and how you're tieing it to Zero Knowledge but its completely seperate. Proposed anon implementations have many tools they can use to try and achieve an efficient, secure anon transaction (zero proofs, commitment schemes, accumulators)

I personally will start work on the wiki as soon as i get my hands on rynomsters whitepaper i encourage everyone else to help with the FAQ. Untill then not many people here can tell you completely what is implemented because not many people understand exactly what invisible money is! Hell even the devs heads are spinning! Please try and understand that. No one is hyping it yet, people are just excited because many of us have been here for a long time supporting its growth.

The devs are aware of the "education" issue here as we have hammered them for the past 2 months about the problem of people not being educated on the topics. They have chosen to mainly pump out the tech. But they will now start answering your questions because now they actually have put some final touches and refinements onto their tech and can explain it without it changing to much and people who don't understand "nerd raging" and "smelling a rat". I'm sure you can understand sometimes its a double edge sword for them and the stronger supporters. No one is asking you to give anyone money there is no premine and no obligation to buy and support the project. Please take some time to settle in and i'm sure you will catch on fairly quickly.

We have said and will say it again, please step into irc until the white paper is released.  I believe you may feel more satisfied if you do but if you don't want to thats fine but please be patient and wait on the white paper and dev responses. Please understand, they have been extremely busy the past 4 months to produce so much amazing tech and remain relevant with their many industry firsts. Allowing the long time supporters to celebrate a bit is not unreasonable.

1: Shadows invisible money will be called "Shadow" it is not called "zerocoin" Shadow is not minted in the same fashion as zerocoin.
2: There is no zerocoin implementation here, it is not zerocoin at all!
3: Shadow uses ZK= Zero Knowledge proofs that do not require a seed or a trusted setup parameter.
4: There is no accumulator, accumulator moduli (rsa UFO) there is ring signatures which create a zero knowledge proof. (no need for a trusted setup parameter)
