So is it true that there is a shadow marketplace coming? I have heard a few things here and there and wanted to know if its true Huh Or just heresay/rumors

Its certainly on the cards and would make a lot of sense but its a MASSIVE undertaking and its down the priority list thats for sure. Its certainly not something you will see before end of the first quarter of next year. But you just never know.

We need a full zk release, voice file and video support, a code cleanup, an update to the mobile range, updated pos system ect ect the list goes on.

Cards, you say? Put a multiplayer poker game in the wallet! That's got to be easier than video. It would require some security measures though to prevent cheat.

private video chat rooms (girls shows boobies, etc.) where people pay with sdc can be good...in the end, it is a huge sector

It sure is, easiest money ever made online. But I wouldn't go too heavy into that for promotion, because you don't want the easy money scaring away the big money. Because of the solid anonymity features the porn most likely to be distributed is the illegal type and that would really give the coin a bad reputation if word got out. Can't forget there are authorities everywhere looking for reasons to make crypto illegal.

Try ShadowCash, the first coin with instant and decentralized private transactions!

Hi all, new here,  can't seem to find ShadowGo for iOS on app store? is it still there?

Hey, unfortunately it didn't get accepted to the app store (apparently Apple have particularly strict conditions for acceptance). This Wired story's about the only Bitcoin wallet they'd allowed (from June this year). I don't know if things have changed much from then, but I doubt it.

There's a guide for installing it on jailbroken iOS phones on ShadowTalk:

http://shadowtalk.org/topic/86/ios-shadowgo-installation-tutorial

Hopefully we'll have better luck if we re-apply when the mobile apps are updated.

Thanks for that, will follow your links,  have downloaded OS X wallet which is taking hours to sync ( to be expected)  any idea if i can pursue the lite mode before full blockchain has downloaded?

Yes you can use the thinmode anytime or you can use the boostrap.dat The client downloads the chain from it instead of the bit torrent style chains normally do. Just follow the instructions https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=745352.msg9140802#msg9140802

The HTML front end allows third parties to create whatever plugs they want.  I'd rather see our experts continue to focus on the core product.

Yeah, great thing is there is a sdk (software development kit) to be released soon and really, anyone can make an app and leverage the network. I don't think piling apps all in the wallet is as good as an idea as having a ShadowStore (which will come) where you can snap in any app you want, app devs can showcase ect ect Smiley
We just need to work out how to monetise node hosting and we are set. "we" being all of us

These networks are so powerful if we can use them right, poker will be cool but i think we are setting our goals small if thats all we think its good for.  Wink

Wow, I don't know how others see this,  but for me it is one more revolution in SDC!

I'm new to SDC I know u can earn a bit trough staking, but what does staking actually do?

Staking processes transactions through the blockchain and keeps it from getting stuck. Staking performs the same function as mining (miners) on a pow network. It has the advantage of not consuming vast amounts of electricity.
Staking secures and strengthens the Network.
You are rewarded with 2% interest + a share of transaction fees

Thanks! My wallet is syncing when done I'm sending my SDC to my wallet Smiley

for such short period of times; market cap is not a very good indicator....we have high market cap due to last couple of days high volume

for example, todays cap (24hr) is around 6.200 usd...so volume is low...we will go down at matketcap unless volume increases

having high market caps for long term is important

u can achieve such high market caps by making people using ur coin.

This should only be the beginning if the technology behind SDC is as strong as I think it is (still to be confirmed)

Any idea when the improved wallet interface will be pushed into the repository?

My impressions were that would be pushed out when ZK went open source, but i could be wrong as only the developer knows. On another note I dont know how so many people have been having syncing issues. Havent had one sync issue with Shadow and I have been here since the very beginning

Why put ZK open source? I know crypto is suppose to be open source, but I think there needs to come a time when it should stop to some extent. It will kill all of the copy cat coins.

The whole idea of crypto is open source, further, you can't expect a closed-source privacy coin to be trusted without having the source out there for the world to see.

I get that, but shouldnt a code review do the trick.... When you have too many clones it kills the rarity of the tech.

No, you'll still have people that won't trust it. On top of that, just because a code review happens at some static point in the future, it doesn't mean that the final bins post-review and onward aren't altered. Any coin in the crypto space will only succeed after being open. Everything else is just a fools game.

Also if we really want darkmarkets to use our coin, OPENSOURCE will be a must. Oblox are you a SDC holder or watching from sidelines waiting? Just wondering i think you make some nice points and would be a nice addition to the community as many other drk holders have been a nice addition to the SDC community  Cool

At this point, I'm more of an outsider looking in with distribution being the hardest thing for me to get through. I'm fascinated with ZK and it's hard to argue the design of your wallet (although I have no idea if this embeds vulnerabilities from a browser-code standpoint).

I just wanted to make it a point that open source is especially crucial with a privacy-based coin because the environment needs to be trustless by design. Anytime you have to trust a 3rd party with your privacy, it's game over.

better it is not open source for a certain period of time...lets say couple of months

for that period review from someone well known will be enough i am sure

then open source....
