Other - I stopped hoarding and sell in small amounts or buy cheap things with them.
702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investors hiring for 'Bitcoin successor' on: September 16, 2011, 03:33:33 AM
So the 5 or 6 attempts at a successor that have failed miserably is still not a deterrent to their investment?
703  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Updated BitCoin Network room :() on: September 16, 2011, 12:01:27 AM
You gotta be kidding me!  You actually work there?  Our server room gets worse as the months go on, and we can't afford enough cable management stuff, but that is out of control what you have going on there.

What!?  Rambus is back from the dead?  They must have cut a sweet deal with AMD.  As in razor thin profit margin deal, because nobody wanted Rambus.

Geez!

You might wish to remember who the moderator is for this part of the forum.
I hope when I hit Report to Moderator it went to the other mod for this subsection and also an Admin per the SMF documentation.
706  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MSI Develops Dust Removal Tech for GPUs & Tempature FAN on: September 15, 2011, 09:33:46 AM
The dust on my GPU HSF's and CPU HSF don't blow off with the force that the fan can provide.  You can sit there and blow at mach 1 with your mouth and it still won't all come off.  Only an air compressor or can of air can get it all off.  This tech might help a little bit, but it's going to be [falsely] marketed as a 100% cure to the dust problem.

708  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I'm not seeing miners leave in hoardes... on: September 15, 2011, 08:17:28 AM
half the electric used for mining put into a more profitable venture. You can even recycle your parts lol look at the computer fan on the right lol

I would like to say this is a joke and I don't cultivate cannabis Cheesy I took this picture from google images.

Growing coral is somewhere up in the mix as far as using electricity to make money.  There is a lot of coral that goes for $200 a frag -- some only approx. 1 square inch.  I'm about to get back into the saltwater reef hobby, but not to make money.  Just a little 1.5 gallon pico.

These all go for $200+ and are just the tip of the iceberg.  The disc they are glued on to is 1-2" in diameter.

709  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1790 GH/sec] BTC Guild - 0% Fees, LP, SSL, API, 8 Decimal Payouts and more! on: September 15, 2011, 08:01:28 AM
No, its related to the Google Ads that show up for people who don't donate.  The AdSense scripts are served over regular HTTP, not HTTPS since they don't have SSL support for AdSense.

Then disable it. Don't compromise the SSL session with stupidity.
I disagree.  You aren't compromising the secured traffic between you and BTC Guild.  Our main webpage has the same error because of a youtube video.  Youtube still hasn't added SSL support.  There are very complex methods to encapsulated a youtube video in your own flash player, but I decided not to spend 10 hours of time programming that because of a silly warning.  Plus, E needs to make money any way he can, his pool is donation only and I'm pretty sure he barely makes a profit after hosting costs.
710  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER CPU/GPU miner, GPU overclock+monitor+fanspeed in C for linux/windows/osx on: September 15, 2011, 06:40:19 AM
Holy moly this software is amazing! Why didn't I get off my lazy butt and trying this out a long time ago instead of sticking with guiminer?  I just replaced guiminer AND Sapphire Trixx with *one* program.  And I'm able to use just one mining account for all GPU's instead of separate like other programs.  *happy dance*
711  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Catalyst 11.9 out-might fix 100 % CPU bug. on: September 15, 2011, 04:46:55 AM
Installed just new openCL and it did not fix the CPU bug on win7 64-bit with 5830.  Might try to do the whole driver with a full cleanup first.

Hmm, weird, never seen it throw that error.  I cut your balance off at 8 decimal places in the database right now.  Try now.

Edit:  Fixed.  Go ahead and cash out.  Sorry about that.  I missed one stupid little calculation on yours!

I'm beginning to think Smoothie is Coinhunter.

Hm. That would make Smoothie CoinHunter's imaginary enemy.

Guess that's how some people handle not having any friends. Smiley
I once dated a girl who created a myspace alter-ego.  She would message me all the time acting like a guy who dated her.  Even talked shit on herself sometimes.  Really bizarre when I found out it was her.  She was a pathological liar too.  The hotter they are the crazier they get.

717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Show is a Failure on: September 06, 2011, 06:36:30 AM
This is my take as a viewer since the inception of the first Bitcoin Show episode.

Simple put: The Bitcoin Show is a FAILURE because:

6. Taking 20 shows to get an audio issue fixed. Seriously if you can't hear the show what's the point in watching it.

This is the one that killed it for me.  I just got done setting up 7 mics for a 22-piece band in a studio and got to control the sound board for an 8 hour rehearsal.  I had no idea what I was doing because it was my first time, but everyone in the band complimented me on how well everything went.  It's not rocket science.  Show after show that Bruce and the guys did the audio was beyond terrible.  It was completely unwatchable.  You couldn't hear the guests at all in any show I watched.  At one point Bruce was holding a cordless phone up to his lapel mic that wasn't even turned on.  It was actually being recorded on a mic across the room.  At another point they were recording a Skype call...from the output of the TV speakers!!  Then it was awesome when all you saw on the video was the camera's OSD showing what settings the noob camera guy had chosen.  If you are going to set up a show like that with all the advertising and hype, at least do a little research and testing first.  Maybe hire a guy that know's what the hell he is doing?
718  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [5gh/s]Bitcoinmonkey.com(3BTC Bonus for current block, no fees, API, LP, Full 8) on: September 06, 2011, 03:59:41 AM
Alright guys, here is what happened.

When we found our last block the accounting portion of the software (not coded or edited by me) ran for 8 hours straight on the 4.2 million share round.  I decided it was never going to finish because the RAM and vRAM on the server was completely filled.  I tried to kill the process inside mysql, which took another 20 mins just to kill.  After that, I re-ran the accounting and it finished in about 10 minutes.  I thought we were good to go, but the account balances were completely screwed up.  There were account balances with NEGATIVE amounts (wtf?), some with scientific decimal notation, and some with wild numbers.  In all, it tried to pay out 96BTC for a 50BTC block.  I caught this error within 5 minutes of the account balances being updated.  HOWEVER, a user by the name of Gomad was able to cash out 8.3BTC before I had a chance to shut down payments.  He would have earned 0.00009402 BTC for submitting 8 shares out of a 4.2 million share round.  Either his automation software, or himself, was able to cash out in less than 5 minutes of the account balances being updated.  He had not been active in like a month and only submitted 8 shares.  After I updated over 300 account balances by hand (zOMG, that was not fun) this left us in a position with not enough BTC to pay out all our users.  This is the e-mail I sent to him, with his full details in case you guys want to track him down.  I gave him a week to reply.

Gomad,

We had a major accounting error happen on the back end of our website.  The result was account balances being updated as negative, with a scientific decimal notation within, or a wild number due to lines of code that were not written by me.  The lines of code came from the Mining Farm project created by Xenland.  Your mining account has been largely inactive on our site.  On the third round you submitted a total of 8 shares out of 4,254,281.  This would have netted you 0.00009402 BTC for the 4,254,281 share round.  Instead, our software incorrectly rewarded you with 8.33638151 BTC.  Immediately after the account balances were updated on our server, you, or your automation program, cashed out with your PIN.  We then disabled the website to prevent firther cashouts while we manually processed account balances.  We are left in a position now where we do not have enough BTC to pay out to the rest of our users.  Would you be kind enough to return the difference in BTC so that we can pay out our other users?

BitcoinMonkey.com

Since he never replied I have sent enough BTC to the server so that everyone can pay out.  I just re-enabled the account details page to pay out.  I'm sorry about this guys.

The hosting for our server is too expensive, we made 0 profit because nobody hashed for us besides a handful of my personal friends plus the pool hopper scripts. We have decided to shut down BitcoinMonkey once the hosting runs out.  This was a very fun project for me and I've learned a boatload about many things.
